This is a beautiful Romanesque cathedral. The oldest in Portugal. Beautiful wooden ceiling. Very impressive organ setting. Worth the visit. Tickets are 2 euros. Entrance is around the corner. What appears to be the main entry is actually the exit.

One of the most important buildings in Portugal and stood as the seat of the Catholic Church in Portugal for many centuries. Burial place to most of the Bishops of Braga dating back to the first who was Bishop between 45-60. So much history dating back to the 1st century, older than Portugal itself. A mix of different architectural styles from roman times to the more common Baroque, Gothic and Manueline architecture. Worth the visit, especially all the adjacent chapels, and the beautiful organ.

Braha Cathedral has its long history and artistic significance, it is also one of the most important buildings in the city of Braga and Portugal. It is the seat of the Archdiocese of Braga and of the Primate Archbishop of Portugal . The entrance gallery of the cathedral with three arches is gothic (end of 15th century), but the towers and upper storeys are early baroque (17th century). A must visit in Braha.

Great cathedral from the early days of Portugal before Lisbon was the seat of the kingdom. I was pleasantly surprised that Dom Afonso Henriques' tomb is located here.

Beautiful church in the center of Braga. A few different prices for visitation - 2 euros to visit the interior - 5 euros for a complete visit (interior, upper mesanine, organ, etc) There are other options between these two. There's a free area that can be visited for free with a garden and some ruins, but it's well worth paying to visit the interior as the church is very beautiful and well kept.

A place of worship that charges entry fee can only be called a circus. The attendant will not loose time to ask you to buy a ticket as soon as you start approaching the entrance door. As a matter of principle, I recommend not entering churches that charge.

Incredibly detailed wood-panelled ceilings, stone statues, gold chapels, beautiful arches, and a breath-taking choir loft with organ pipes (held up by Pan, and if you look for them, you'll find plenty of Roman deities reresented, too, which shows how old the cathedral is).

The oldest cathedral in Portugal from the 11th century, but the original Romanesque architecture has lost by many reconstructions. Still, it's worth a visit.

Braga Cathedral is small with intriguing wood work and a huge organ. The details are really beautiful. The cost for visiting is fairly low and there is one ticket which includes the cathedral museum and the chapels, even cheaper.

Being the religious center of Portugal over the centuries, this cathedral is important in the country's history is given. But I was very impressed by the collection of the antiquities in its courtyard, roman stone tablets incorporated in its walls, the glassed-in courtyard, the well-organized museum, and most of all, its own tours of its various spaces with friendly, knowledgeable and laid-back guides. Strongly recommend the tour that goes to the cathedral choir above the organs providing great views of the nave of the cathedral, and access to the chapels with mummy of a bishop, the Moorish fresco and splendid tombs. The groups are very small, guide easy to interact with and pace relaxed.

Nice cathedral. Guided tour is available in English as well. Only in 5 euro. There is mummified body of archbishop. Could be a bit scary to see
