I
was
in
Brahmpaur
for
a
few
days
now
and
wanted
to
try
some
authentic
Odiya
food.
Searched
for
a
few
places
and
read
some
reviews
of
various
places
when
I
bumped
into
Hotel
Oddia
Dalma.
The
reviews,
ratings
and
pictures
looked
nice
and
thus,
I
decided
to
give
this
place
a
try.
Having
skipped
breakfast
for
the
day,
I
was
really
looking
forward
to
digging
into
some
thali
action
with
a
non
veg
dish
by
the
side.
Have
to
say
that
this
place
did
not
disappoint.
It
is
not
a
very
large
place
but
has
adequate
seating
for
you
to
get
a
table
in
5-10
mins
tops,
as
there
is
an
option
to
share
tables.
I
tried
the
Fish
thali
which
came
with
fish
besara
(mustard
curry
fish),
aloo
bharta
(mashed
potatoes
cooked
with
mustard
seeds,
peanuts
and
chillies),
dalma
(dal
cooked
with
vegetables)
and
curd
salad
(curd
with
cucumber,
onion,
green
chillies
and
coriander).
The
food
was
simple,
not
too
spicy
and
hit
the
spot
perfectly.
I
liked
the
fish
a
lot,
so
much
so,
that
I
ordered
an
extra
serving
of
it
with
the
meal.
Had
to
end
the
meal
on
a
sweet
note,
and
so,
I
went
ahead
with
the
Egg
Pudding.
It
was
cool,
has
a
nice
coating
of
caramel
on
top
and
was
not
too
sweet.
Perfect
for
a
good
end
to
a
simple
yet
satisfying
meal.
Sometimes,
the
simplicity
of
food
is
what
tasted
best
and
this
place
does
exactly
that.
I
do
not
have
much
to
compare
this
meal
to
as
I
have
not
had
a
lot
of
Odiya
food,
but
I
am
sure,
this
place
and
the
meal
would
rank
right
up
against
any
other
restaurant
serving
similar
cuisine.
Perhaps,
the
service
could
have
been
a
bit
better
as
the
refills
of
dal
were
taking
a
bit
longer
than
expected.
Oh,
forgot
to
mention,
the
thali
is
an
all
you
can
eat
with
a
single
serving
of
the
main
dish
(fish,
mutton
or
chicken).
I
could
see
a
lot
of
people
devouring
biryani
here.
I
guess
my
next
visit
to
this
place
calls
for
just
that.
