Rooms 4/5 Old property but maintained well. Rooms need a bit upgrade now. Location 4/5 Not too far from beach but not too close also. It is a 500 meter walk downhill . Approach road is not narrow even bigger cars can reach easily. In Room Dining 3/5 Complete hit or miss , avoid. Breakfast Buffet 5/5 Must opt for it , the spread and taste is awesome Parking 0/5 This needs drastic improvement. This is one of the reason we book this resort in the first place.Roadside lodge has better parking space in Gopalpur. Avoid if you are booking this only for covered secured parking. Toiletries etc 2/5 Does not match a Swosti Resort standard. Cleanliness 3/5 Could be better

Mismanaged by the absolute worst staff ever. Mr. Balaram stands out as being the worst of the worst here. When we entered, we were shown 104, dirty, dingy, bathroom was also disgusting. The room was definitely not what we paid for. He said "no more rooms available, all booked." So we said okay, we'll check out right away and leave. That's when he shows us 4-5 more rooms which "became available". Out of all, we took 215. He also said he'll arrange an auto for us, for sightseeing at Brahmapur. We had to give about 7 reminders for such a small job. Their main line is "WE HAVE TOO MANY OTHER GUESTS". And we are? What? Are you doing us favours? Same goes for newspaper, at 7am he'll say it's comes at 8, at 8 its 9, by the time it comes it's post 1pm. Wifi barely works, he kept saying "ayega ayega" knows nothing. The reception, manned by nobody capable, all complacent, lazy and definitely don't deserve this job. The kitchen is good, the housekeeping staff is also good, Krishna Rao is WONDERFUL! Only person who deserves his job, very kind, very polite, very helpful. The only other positive is the location, it's about 400mts to the beach. The rest of it is an absolute MESS. I've even attached photos of my "road view" room where the hotel's food waste is accumulated, absolutely DISGUSTING.

Location is good, food is good, services are great. But the property needs maintenance. Very old property. Rooms are too old fashioned. The toiletries and tea coffee supply very poor. Carry your own toothbrush and paste. Close to beach area. You can walk to the beach in ten minutes.

I travelled to Gopalpur for an official event. While the some part of the contingent was staying in adjacent hotel Mayfair, I was put in Gopalpur palm resort. On the first look, the hotel seemed like a 1980s kind of a hotel setup however, looks can be discounted with service. The hotel has a great staff. Very cooperative and caring. The food was great, the service was excellent. The hotel is very close to the beach and lighthouse. You can just walk to the beach. The beach is clean however very wavey. Few areas of improvement... The ground between both Mayfair and this resort. It stinks at times. My opinion for Gopalpur palm resort... Great for its hospitality and food.

First the property is not on the beach. Second, very very badly maintained. On check in i was shown 3 rooms on the ground floor one after other. All the rooms were stinking. Bathrooms were exceptionally dirty n stinking. Mr Balaram kept on saying all rooms are booked. When i threatened to walk out, then he gave me Room no 215 on first floor. Comparably better. But i felt i was cheated for the amount paid and what I got. A horrible experience. The view from the window was an open dirty drain. Only notable exception was a very pleasant Mr Krishna Rao, who came across as a very sweet person eager to help u with everything. All other staff r totally incompetent. Every request whether newspaper or request for auto had to be followed up with at least 5 reminders. So much for Service. Wifi not working during the entire stay. Only refrain was server down or ho jayega thodi der mein or problem at Brahmapur. Definitely a horrible stay. Will never go this hotel n neither will i recommend. TOTALLY AVOIDABLE HOTEL.

I was staying in Room 104, Palm Resort, Gopalpur. Condition of the bathroom is poor. No exhaust. Room and Food quality not upto the mark according to the price. If it's rain the entire hotel flooded, even the corridors. Water dropping on bed. Floors are flooded.

It was indeed a great experience to stay at the Gopalpur palm resort. I visited with my family and stayed for 2days. Being an old property, it was still well maintained . Although the bathroom little bit needs to be renovated. Except that everything was very decent. Really appreciate the staff behaviour and customer service. They serve good inhouse restaurant food as well. Spacious rooms. Overall a good stay .

It's a black spot on 'Swosti group 's brand name. The rooms are really very poor to stay. God knows who manages it. Never trust on the name, this isn't like other resorts of this group.

I have a request for you to give zero star rating options for this hotel Because I feel that one start which I gave is also a waste for this property it's a whole waste to come here

Rooms are neat but old. Food is superb delicious 😋 Must try every food present in the menu. They do serve alcohol but price is bit on upper hand. Don't forget to try their special Crab curry. That is simply out of the mind. Beach is 250mtr away which is walkable. You must visit the beach before sunrise & at the evening to witness the beauty. You will find basic amenities on the normal deluxe rooms but on the suite room only additional minibar is available. You can upgrade it by paying additional Rs. 1000.

The property is very old and its a 1 star property actually, looks dirty and pathetic from inside. The only good thing about the property is its restaurant, they provide delicious food .

  • 1/5 Swadhin K. 9 months ago on Google
Very bad rooms , it's not a 3star hotel it's a 3rd class hotel . U will find termite and bed worms there. Bad smell and watery roofs . Totally Third class property.

I went twice to the restaurant for lunch and Dinner. The food was delicious, service was prompt and the staff were very friendly and courteous. I highly recommend it for the food. Do try out the "Chana Pora" in the deserts, which is a local delicacy and really yummy.

Very down market hotel which best can categorised as a budget hotel. For the quality and cleanliness they offer the day rate should be below INR 1000. I booked suite room 201 and had to check out within 2 hours of check in, leaving my money with them as I had prepaid. Could not stay with my family there. Only go there if you are looking for an overpriced lodge!

Extremely courteous staff on the floor. Room wes good, just the furniture looked ill maintained. Somehow washroom had comode with handjet on the wrong side. Location is near beach, but doesn't have a direct access to beach. We had to walk the long way through the main road to the beach. There seemed to have a shorter route, probably under maintenance or renovation or via some other property. We were welcomed with a refreshing drink, and shell garlands. Though we reached quite late in the night, the floor manager and staff helped with room service until around midnight. This helped us immensely to settle in. Restaurant was okay, nothing fancy. We tried only the complimentary breakfast, and it was just alright There was a pungent smell outside the restaurant, thankfully not inside Overall a happy night stay.

Staff is very cooperative & professional. But room-quality is not as per expectation/pricing. Old property needs upgrade. Recreation amenities are needed. Great support by Mr.Prasanna and Mr. Arun Roy for short notice booking confirmation.

This is an old property. Staffs are very courteous. Hotel serves good food. Also they have enough parking space for cars.

The service is good, rooms are also good but bathrooms need renovation. Bathroom Mirror was kind of old. Tiles in the bathroom also kind of old. There is no direct access from hotel to sea beach. Need to walk few hundred metres to reach sea beach.

Gopalpur Palm resort of Swosthi group is a very nice and affordable place to stay at Gopalpur on sea. Located near to the this property though old has been maintained nicely. Calm, clean and homely environment of this property ensures a pleasant stay for its guest. Quality and taste of food served are very good. The service of hotel staff is commendable. Parking facility and driver accommodation available. I would love to stay here again.

This is a guest house built by TATA, later taken up by Swosti hotels. Rooms are average Food is below average (I tried their food so many times, and can see that the quality of food is gradually going down. Few of their staffs are great and polite, and few of the staffs are kind of "sirjee yahan yahi milta hai", "Yahan toh aisa hi hai".

Stained bathrooms and walls, poorly working flushes and rooms stinking of bad quality phenyl. Is that something you would associate with a Swosti property? Well you will get it here. Regret filled me the moment I stepped into the property and the same feeling stayed with me for the next 24 hours. Unfortunately, there weren't any other options available otherwise I would have bolted. Definitely avoidable.

Old fashioned room. Poor brightness of lights in the room. Cockroach in the room is available. No plug points available in the room for mobile charging. Foods are too costly at restaurent but tasty. Hotel is 10 mins away from beach. Overall not satisfactory.

Rooms are ok. Buffet is fine. They repeat menu everyday. Property is bit old but fairly maintained. Manager is rude

  • 5/5 Pranaya C. 1 year ago on Google
The rooms are evidently in the old architecture style but the hygiene was very very good (expected from a hotel with their reputation) The service was the best part, each and every staff member (receptionist, bellboy, waiter, room service, security) was very courteous and made sure we had the best experience. Even though they say it's close to beach, it's not if you plan on going in a 4 wheeler.

I would rate 5 out of 5 in service and food. Well behaved staff. Good food. Just that since its an old property, it should come up with some renovation plans. Overall very good.

The Swosti Palm Resorts are simply good, though I didnt see palm trees in the premises. Planting a couple of palm trees can improve their presentability. They are prompt in sending my reservation info by phone and rescued me from local area traffic restrictions from Police, especially on a Sunday may be. May I suggest them to send such info by default to RMN of the traveller and educate them about traffic issues prior to arrival to avoid unnecessary time loss and holdup in Govt parking area. That helps. The room service of food deserves higher rating in terms of service as well as quality. My experience of Banana Split desert was so great in Germany, the one served here though different is commendable too in in its own way. The serving crockery didnt have depth but contents were tasty and gave that TOO GOOD feeling. Full marks. Please serve this dish in an oval shaped crockery (like a small boat) with some height such that scooping out contents would be convinient. The room didnt have any bar menu. May be no room service for connoisseurs of cocktails, I didnt enquire about it though. I agree with others' review about antiquated wooden and other furnishings in the room. But they were not that frightening as reviews suggested. They are still good and enjoyable as eveything is still intact. The Hotel may still need to improve on its entry gate and its prominance for new comers to spot easily and enter the premises. Its not standing compared to pomp attributed to the very neighbouring Mayfair hotel. I went round Palm Hotel and then returned back to it. Front desk told there are no sea-beach- activities organized. May be the Local Body/Corpn didnt allow like they do in Puri. Interior games, if any may be publicized to visitors to avail. I spotted a billiards board in first floor though. Overall its a very nice property and experience. Good feelings.

Recently I visited this hotel with my family for 2 days visit. Well it is the old property , still they maintained the property well. Specially staff behavior so pleasant and wounderful that we feel great over entire stay. Food service is excellent, we all 3 members are over satisfied although me and my wife is vegetarian...Still all good. I recommend people to prefer this stay. Thanks Swasti Group

Please make sure that you are aware of all the differences. 1. Rooms are very old and unmaintained. 2. Staff is very kind and welcoming. 3. Food was okay. Not much expectations. 4. The beach is 200 meters away and you have to walk to reach. If you are paying a high rate please go for Mayfair Palm resorts or others.

Rooms need some renovation.Walkable distance from sea beach. Avoid parking car under the tree or else you will have your car covered with bird dumplings. Book with breakfast option, breakfast buffet was awesome.

👍 The Hotel is not near to the beach, rather this hotel in practically onto the beach! I’ve never seen a beach traditional hotel like this. there is a terrace / lawn on ground floor and from there you can directly go to basement - that is the beach! Most of the rooms are beach facing.
