    Wish there would be ZERO stars. Well, if you have 2 1/2 hours to waste and have nothing else to do and enjoy cold food, dirty restaurant, and poor service, this is the place for you! Sunday, June 19th we went in for breakfast. Told a 15-20 minute wait. That turned into over half an hour. Watched as the manager ran from here to there, making no sense at all in what he was doing, seeing tables all over the place waiting to be seated. Finally we were sat, we ordered right away. That didn't do any good, because an hour into it, I had to ask our server if our food was coming. Oh, our food was being plated in the kitchen. 15 minutes later, here is our food, cold, burnt hash browns, had to ask for our pancakes, and away our server went. By this time, I couldn't even eat anymore. Lost interest and wasn't even hungry. Asked for our check, but that was a mess too. Server gave another table our check, and gave us their check, but she fixed it by scribbling around on it. I got a menu and the check was wrong of course NOT in our favor. I asked the waitress if she could fix it and she wanted to argue with me that I wasn't including the tax. She handed us a $1.00 bill to compensate! WOW!!!!! How hard would it have been to reprint a correct check? Never were we asked though this 2 1/2 hours if we needed anything, how we were doing, or even any compensation! SOMETHING should have been compensated! Both my husband and I have been in the restaurant business most of our lives and this is way below standards. Not one good thing to say about the place. We found our own to go box and left the cash at the check out counter, because that was a cluster at the counter with guests when we left too. Shame on you Perkins for not compensating your guests! 2 1/2 hours! JOKE!! This delayed me in spending time with my Father on Father's Day, but no one cares.

    After waiting over an hour, we finally get our 'food' which is cold, burnt and just horrible. I am not one to complain, but holy cow. I thought maybe they had to slaughter the cow and slice the potatoes themselves. I work in the food industry, and I understand being short staffed, but good lord! When my elderly parents were asked by the 'manager' how everything was, my mom said 'I wont say'....well I did. It was bad. One of the worse restaurant experiences I have had. Then to be told by said 'manager' that they are fighting with their cooks about the heat (its cold outside, about as cold as our dinner) I said...eh that food sat there. Dont be giving out lame excuses for your lack od leadership. Will not be back there again.

    I really dislike leaving bad reviews. My wife and I both order breakfast....breakfast and took 45 to get of food and when we finally did. Everything was so cold for sitting in the back the eggs were rubber hard,the pancakes couldn't even melt butter. We got our milk we thought was gonna be with our meal. Came out 15 mins before the meal. So the milk was warm. There solution was. I'll bring you a glass of ice. What how about a cold glass of milk? Then asked what took so long. She told me they had outside orders and got swamped. Sounds like you need to focus on the customers you have at youe restaurant over people not even there. This isn't the first time an experience like this has happened at this location. I am done and will never step foot in that restaurant again.

    Where do I begin not even 30 seconds in the the door and you could tell there was something wrong. Lots of people in the waiting area and no one around to help them. Here it is black Friday and the town is busy. Not this Perkins, the restaurant was about 1/8th full. The person writing down names, later to find out that this person was the manager. He looked at the couple in front of us and then turned his back and walked away. The couple looked at us and said we didn't come in here to be treated like this and walked out the door. My wife then tried to get him to write our name down. With a look from him that I'm to busy he wrote our name down. He didn't ask if there was anyone else he walked away. A cashier came over and said can I help any of you? She seated us about 15 minutes into our wait . The waitress was right there asked about our beverages. When she came back we then asked about the management. She took our order and said thank you. Half hour past then 45 minutes then we realized there was a bigger problem. The waitress came by again and said I'll see what I can do. We asked her some more questions and she said she would tell her manager. Now an hour and a half has passed and no food. Waitress came back and said that the manager was going to comp our meals. Five minutes later our food comes with the meal ticket. $40.46. not sure what happened but it is obviously that it was not the waitress. Food was barely warm and the management was ice cold. The waitress apologized but not the manager. We left the waitress a tip the size of meal ticket, she had tears in her eyes and thanked us. To the owners you need to send your management team to training. Or release them and hire someone who has some type of hospitality training.No managers should turn there back and walk away. Even comping the meals has created a doubt that it will be a long time before spending 2 plus hours at this Perkins ever again.

    Perkins is consistent and dependable! We told the server we were short on time and they delivered with fast, friendly service. We always love their Eggs Benedict it confirmed they are the professionals. It was just the way we like it. We were glad we chose to eat lunch here. The only thing that stopped me from a perfect rating is the condition of their bathroom. It was probably clean but the leaking toilet and dated sink made it look unsanitary. I hope they get an upgrade.

    Eggs over cooked plus cold... Hash browns cold. They brought a new order, but ofcourse husband finished his food before I was re served. Then was charged for 2 orders.. Spoke to manager and she told me have to wait or just take a gift card... I told her no take care of it now... And then waited while she took care of others and answered phones.. I was the client in front of her finish me before acknowledging another. Never going back. Multiple people erroring on their job.

    Alot on my mind lately. As I waited I felt myself relaxing. I was greeted by a smile. First choice of food didn't happen. Waited a bit for my food. Just played with my phone. Ordered pie. Christine talked me right into it. 😊 I waited quite a bit. The look on her face when she looked at me made me giggle.😄 She bolted and got the forgotten pie. Thank you. I have worked in the food industry. Not an easy job. She was courteous. Friendly. Apologetic for the pie oops. I am writing to say she made a sideways day much better. Thank you. Bless you.     I ordered the "everything" omelet, 15.49 for about a 2 1/2 long omelet. Was very tasty, but bacon was rubbery. One poor waitress and a very unavailable greeter. I will never go back at the prices. You really need to get staffed and teach those cooks how to cook. Our bill was over 40 bucks, food not worth the cost!!!

    When we arrived waitress told us it would be a minimum 25 minute wait for food, we said that was fine. I ordered a ham and cheese omelet. The place felt dirty. I understand they may be short of help but at least try and keep the place clean. The ham and cheese omelet was really eggs and some ham and cheese on top, there was nothing inside the omelet. Food was bland and we wont be back.

    I've come through 3 times in the last couple of weeks. The first time wasn't bad, the waitress was friendly, the food was good, but the wait time on the food was longer than usual. The second time around, everything was exceptional. But the last time about a week ago, my girl and I showed up (sort of on a time crunch), were seated, and waited 15 min without being waited on.. not even drinks before deciding to leave.

    My boyfriend and I have had breakfast here the past couple weekends and overall it's been good. We were seated right away and our server(s) came over and got us drinks and took our orders quickly. The only issue really was the wait for our food. I'm sure the kitchen is short staffed like pretty much every restaurant. The booths are clean, but most of them have small tears in the seats, but 🤷 Our servers have always been pleasant and prompt and I've appreciated their service.

    The waitress was prompt about greeting us, taking our drink order and food order 😃 The Strawberry French Toast and Granny Omelette was brought out very quickly and was presented as in the picture and tasted just like it looked! Delicious! Great service Great Food

    We come to Brainerd to visit with my brother. The first time we stopped used the restroom it was so dirty, I stopped and told the manager how bad they were. We have chosen Perkins a few times. Our last visit the food was cold, the restrooms were disgusting. But each time the restrooms were dirty and messy. I wonder if the restrooms are that bad how clean is the kitchen.

    Alright I would like to say, I am not a food critic or a Chef, but I know some about cooking and how some foods are supposed to be prepped. I would like to split this into 2 parts, the Good and the bad. First the good points, the place is always clean they do an amazing job of having hygiene standards. Secondly the waiters/waitresses are some of the most friendliest and welcoming waiters/waitresses I have ever met, they always go above and beyond and are very polite and understanding. now to the Bad, and this is why I rated 1/5 stars. I have gone here SEVERAL times over the last year and a half, and when I say the cooks have messed up every order I have ever placed, I do mean EVERY TIME! I almost always asked for the sirloin steak medium rare, probably the most asked in the country, it is always either undercooked(rare) or over cooked(well done). They also forget to put the toppings that you asked for, and some may think the person that took my order made it, I guarantee they were not at fault because they would ask if I would like it and I would say "Yes thank you" and I would see them write it down, and then I would never get them. And today was just my breaking point, Me and my girlfriend went there about an hour before close (we were placing a to go order, not sitting down) and the manager(or at least we thought it was him, he wasn't wearing his name badge) said we are doing fried food only, we were disappointed granted but we understood and didn't question it, She ordered the Chicken strips with fry's and I ordered the Deep fried pickles, when my girlfriend went to pay I thought the bill looked light, but didn't question it, about 10 mins later he gave us our food and we left, while in the car we discovered we never received my food( didn't check bag before we left, pro tip always check your bag before leaving a restaurant or drive through) and we didn't get a receipt to even check if we had paid for the pickles or not, so we decided it wasn't worth fighting them over it and left. And I say this with every fiber of my being if this restaurant shut down, I would be ecstatic to see what would take its place, but be sad for the wonderful waiters/waitresses that work there.

    We have been going to this Perkins and ever since the new management have experienced disappointment every time. Either cold food to greasy hashbrowns to order not right. Well the long wait and unattentive waitress just made up our minds that we will not waste our time and money on this place. There were many disappointed people that night and it was not even busy and the hostess was horrible. I wouldnt want any of those people running my restaurant. A manager was called in and an extra cook which was a joke. We ordered breakfast and he brought us a sampler to hold us over and not sure why I would eat fried food when I ordered breakfast. Oh well, lesson learned never again and anyone I can tell I will tell them to not waste their money. I would like to add is the response the owner gave us as the apology was the same as everyone else got...0 stars.

    I love this place…they have so many good choices to choose from so I will definitely be coming back to try all the different dishes they have. I ended getting the turkey club which was very delicious on sourdough bread. I also took home a 6 pack of pumpkin muffins which they had a deal on (buy 3 get 3 free). I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing those tasted. I will definitely be a repeat customer to this establishment. Thank you for the great customer service and great comfort food I love!

    Food was great. Slow. Waited an hour for appetizer to be served. 10 mins after appetizer was served the meal was brought out. The waitress was rather rude.

    Would have liked to eat but didn’t even get seated. Hostess took name and sat other people who put their names down after us. Did this twice. Tried to say something but Hostess seemed completely unaware of what was going on. It was not very busy. We walked out. Very disappointed.

    They changed the mozzarella sticks and didn’t mention that during order even after I called to confirm the order and the new moz sticks were terrible no cheese just breading. High priced for no cheese

    Terrible experience on 4/14/19. Will not return. Visited this this location with my husband and toddler son around 330pm and will never return again after what we experienced. It was slow inside the restaurant when we arrived (we were happy about this having a toddler along) and were seated right away. We needed a few extra minutes to decide on what to eat...little did I know, the waitress interpreted a few mins for 10+ mins. While we were waiting on the waitress to return, my husband accidentally spilled a full glass of water on the table. I went to go find someone for help and for a towel to clean up. The woman I found handed me a single towel and did not offer to come help or ask if we needed new silverware and napkins etc. I was surprised to say the least. I have worked in restaurants, and usually when a guest spills something you go and help them out. At the very least refill their water?!?!?!? While I was trying to clean up our table, my husband went to ask for more towels. He brought with him the towel that I was given as it was soaked and was filled with ice cubes and he needed somewhere to throw it away. He came across the same woman who gave me the towel and asked her for more towels and a garbage for the towel in his hand...she said “ let me seat this customer and I will get you more towels”. So there stands my husband with no where to throw the towel in his hands, so he went into the men’s bathroom to throw it away. He eventually returned to our table with more towels on serving tray. At this point I was ready to leave. While all of the above was going on, our server was MIA. Our son started to get impatient so my husband took him on a walk up to the main entrance so he could look at their quarter machines while I was cleaning up the rest of our water and ice. The woman who handed us towels, according to my husband seemed annoyed that him and my son were in the lobby(I thought this was a family friendly restaurant). We are not the type of parents who let our son roam around unattended, so this was very frustrating to me. So finally our server shows up and proceeded to tell me that what I had ordered “ran out” for the day. This only added to my frustration(normally I would not care). Like I said above, we will never return after the mess we experienced during a slow time...I can’t imagine what goes on there when it’s busy. My suggestion is to find somewhere else to eat.

    Service was fine. Food so so. Parts of the place we're filthy the little space on the east side of the restaurant had so much filth in the corner on the floor it was actually piled up. My guess is that whoever cleans the place hadn't cleaned out the corner in weeks or even months. Bathroom was just as bad.

    Stopped for a late breakfast and thought we would be the only ones there. But, people kept rolling in.. The food was very good, our server was very good. The pastries had to go home with us.
