I am from Australia and i visited the zoo recently. I fail to understand how the owners/ trainers/staff have no understanding of the social heirarchy of such animals, particularly the elephants. Visit Kruger Park and see the animals in their natural environment and take note of their mood and demeanor. Your animals lack energy and they seem positively depressed. This is a terrible kind of abuse. Not acceptable in this day and age!

To make people pay entrance fee is daylight stealing. The so called zoo has no animals as 97% of the animals have been taken away. The place is now a dungeon that is not taken care of. A very dirty place. Homeless people now use thi place even to hide trolleys they steal from Checkers Westdene. I advise everyone to rather look for a better outing elsewhere.

Cruelty is the only word to describe this place. Please support the Bloemfontein SPCA in closing it down.

It's not as clean as one would expect it to be when compared to previous years.. There are only a handful of animals one can see while visiting but overall the calming environment is great. It's too expensive for what they are currently offering.

For R66 for an adult, the tickets are quite cheap. The compound is big with the big cats and the antelopes being the star of the attraction. But signs of years of budget cuts and the lack of sponsorships is glaring as facilities are not well maintained and neglect has set in. It's a shame for such a nice zoo with interesting animals have not been well maintained and kept. Signs of the whole of South Africa failing economically due to mismanagement.

Not worth the money Animal not well looked after and the environment is very dirty Also not a very big variety of animals The animals look depressed and not very happy! The only good thing is the nature around the animals

The zoo is quite big and we walked almost 3km while there. There are unfortunately quite a few empty cages and areas that aren't maintained. Some animals don't look happy and healthy at all. We got te idea that some had cages too small and some didn't seem happy to live alone in isolation. George, the Chimpanzee, is one such example. And so is the tiger and the cheetah. The monkeys were reaching for plants outside their cages to eat. Maybe they didn't get their food for the day yet as we went quite early.

From the lady at the gate, with the blood red eyes, who gave us discount but no tickets. To the neglect of the zoo, it was disappointing. Animal is lovely, my four year old, was impressed with the rhino's. Animals is a bit caged in, they do not look happy. Set them free. Lots of love, visitors.

I took my 3 yr old daughter, she was free and it was R65 for myself. The zoo is nice, small, the only thing was it was a Sunday so the shop/restaurant was closed but otherwise very clean place, VERY central, right next to loch Logan waterfront

The environment is very good to refresh once mind, looking at the beauty of the nature. There are domestic lions there, looking astonishing but they look tired as well. The zoo is big, but walking to each conner and they are places to rest and watch some animals or birds singing.

Beautiful place... nature at its best, roaring lions, playful chimpanzee, the nocturnal animals looked sad... most animals look like they were rescued from harm as some have been amputated... wonderful service and wish someone could invest in that place in looks neglected or need fix up... over all good place for family fun

It is a fun outing for the entire family. They have a wide variety of animals and a lot of benches and grass for picnics. Animals also look well cared for.

I know it's not a big place, which is why I'm disappointed at the lack of care on the roads. One of the goats looked like it isn't eating well. A few of the animals were unaccounted for as well...

This place is no longer what it used to be. Dens are not look after. No more hippos No more giraffes No more elephants No more chimps List goes on... If this zoo is not privatised, soon it will have nothing to offer. Worst thing, they do not lower their charge for their lack of quality viewing

Animals were all well looked after with big enclosures. I'm sure if more people support them it will help. Some enclosures are empty but that's to be expected with lack of community support.
