Excellent Bar, Fully Stocked, Great Food...

It's hard to overstate what a pleasant surprise this place is! The food is amazing and the service is great! I don't know how they do it, but their chips are perfect.

Friendliest service, a lot of character as the oldest bar in Bloemfontein

On the 16/05/2023 I had a job to do near the Old Shute and decided to have breakfast first, at 09h00, their opening time, I waked in and asked if I could have breakfast? The reply was no! because the "boss" had not "opend the system" !? My response was but thats not a problem because you can make the breakfast so long and I can pay when the "boss"gets here, again no! So before I waste my time to go there again I would rather say to myself NO!

THE BEST STEAKS IN BLOEMFONTEIN... there is no debate every other resturant has one or two times their food was amazing shute has one or two times that it isnt every other time you will leave wayyy too full and wayy too satisfied Great food great drinks great service.

Friendly service, beer I had was way over priced

This place certainly has a lot of character. It's great that they have security looking after your vehicles outside. Tasty food, but a bit heavy on the salty gravy.

Very welcoming hosts. Nice old school bar, nostalgic and biker friendly. Will definitely return to the Old Shute Bar and Grill when I am in Bloem again. The food is also great value for money and tasty. Bar lady and the waiters were polite and speedy.

Still the best bar lunch in Bloem. Great burgers and even better streaks and a really laid back chill give this place the edge on all the so called hipster joints on 2nd Ave and the waterfront. No posers here, this is the real thing, the original working man's pub, but with unbelievable food. Kev you rock.

Diamond in the rough, best steak in bloem without breaking the bank. Try the German steak. No non smoking area though.

Everything you need is here. And many more. Good food, good variety of cold drinks, good selection of wine, spirit and beer. The atmosphere is excellent and borders on peaceful, almost tranquil for business or private discussion. The waitresses are marvelous. You must try it at some stage. Bookings may be essential
