Empire is the best salon in Bishop Auckland. I've been going to Gary for years and I've never been disappointed or had any sort of grievance. All of the staff are friendly, approachable and professional. The prices are very reasonable for the service you receive and you don't feel pressured into buying products or treatments.

Worst experience ever… OMG, I want to rate them below 1 star I tell hair stylist to trim my current haircut which was step cutting and forward layers. I had very long hair. She asked me thrice about the length and I thought she is asking about the 3 steps which my hair already got to trim them. She cut down the entire length to make them straight without any step and give me forward layers at the end at front. She didn’t even showed me the haircut with back mirror. So I never knew , she hasn’t given me any steps I only come to know when I brushed them next day. Such an awful experience. 😭😭😭😭. She ruined my beautiful haircut and style

I went with my mum and and 3 year old little sister. As soon as we set foot in the doors not only did we live the decor but the friendly welcome we got off all the staff was lovely. Pippa did all our hairs and she was amazing with my little sister and managed to cut her hair even when she was wriggling. I personally struggled to find a salon and a hairdressers that could fulfill my requests and I've finally got exactly what I dreamed of. My mum was over the moon with how healthy her hair looked and the style of it. We will definitely be be returning to this salon and requesting Pippa. Thank you so much Pippa for your service, you did a fab job. 😁

I couldn’t rate the girls here highly enough! We booked a last minute holiday ( the friday before a bank holiday weekend) i called the salon begging for a hair and beauty appointment for the Tuesday 😬 they managed to fit me in for a hair appointment no problem however the beauty therapist wasn’t working on the Tuesday and i needed a LOT of work after the winter ! They very kindly called lorraine who agreed to come in to work for me. You can’t really get better customer service than that! My hair appointment was brilliant and the cut was lovely, Lorraine (beauty therapist) did an amazing job of full body waxing, gel polish for fingers and toes and a eyelash and eyebrow tint all at a very reasonable price, i am so grateful to them and extremely impressed with their customer service. I will happily now be a regular client. Thanks ladies 😊

What a fabulous place for hairstylists. Gary's done my hair for a while now but being in the shop and getting silver highlights in was lovely. I cannot fault these guys at all. From the minute you walk through the door you're made to feel welcome and they really take the time to go through exactly what you want, offering lots of advice. I was over the moon with my colour and cut - Gary is a miracle worker! Will definitely be returning, they have a long-term customer in me!
