Our experience with Viva la Vida hostel was very bad. We had booked and payed two dorm beds in advance. Once we arrived, it turned out that the hostel staff did not make the reservation for us and that they are booked out. Instead of apologizing for their mistake and/or trying to find solutions, the woman just snapped at us that they are a small hostel/few people and that things like this just happen and that we can cancel our booking/get back our money for free (well, thank you). As there were no free/affordable rooms in Brasov, we had to leave the city. The hostel looked nice, but with such unhelpful and actually rude behaviour of staff, I can not recommend.

We've been here three times during our stay in Brasov. Great strong coffee and croissants! Lava cake was okay. Very hospitable staff and amazing atmosphere! Recommend!

Merita 5 stele. Toata este de treaba, super, cu un chelner dragut si profesionist. Dau 5 stele rareori. Bucatele a fost elegante...deosobit...gustoase. I rarely give five stars, but this restaurant merits them. After nearly a week in Brasov, where I come every winter, this was the most professional and kind service and excellent food and wine that I’ve had all week. I had a glass of Ferdinand Feteasca Neagra, muschiulet (tenderloin) with red wine sauce, and an excellent, piquant soup with luscious bits of smoked meat. What made it even more delicious was the caring and elegant service by the waiter, a young man who does his job attentively and carefully. Sometimes solo female diners are ignored, especially if you choose a terrace table and the interior of the restaurant is busy. Not today! My waiter was worthy of a fine dining establishment in any major city of the world. I appreciate so much this welcoming experience on a cold afternoon in a foreign town. It was a little taste of the kindness and professionalism that I cherish in my Moldavian region but that can be hard to find in Brasov in the busy winter season. Both the chef and the waiter lifted my spirits with an attentively prepared and served warm meal. The meat was tender and juicy and the red wine sauce superb. Presentation was sophisticated, with the potatoes in a cake on a plate with a balsamic reduction drizzle. The potatoes were a suave blend of smooth purée and larger pieces so there was some texture. Even the triangular cuts of bread in the basket showed attention to detail. The waiter was knowledgeable about the wines and found me an excellent, full-bodied Feteasca Neagra — Ferdinand from Aurelia Visinescu. Service outside was prompt, with the lap robe and heater offered without my having to ask. Other places I got them only on request a few times this week. Attention to pandemic safety was professional and correct, another big plus. The quality in everything from place settings to atmosphere to food and service was a step above the others that I’ve tried in this moderate price range. Do try this bistro for your afternoon or evening meal. It’s a warm oasis of hospitality and skill in a cold winter.

Tourist trap. It was surprisng how the recipes and the atmosphere are rather outdated for a relatively new restaurant. Before there was a different bar here and the space used to be designed very beautifully, showcasing the history of the building. Hard to believe how the space was downgraded by the present design. I went here because i saw a review saying the negroni is good. It's not. It's not even real negroni. Perhaps they changed it or something but it felt a bit like a scam. The good part is that the price ranges seem to be somewhat adjusted to the lower end services they offer. So in a sense this is fair.

I'm giving you five stars, even if there's place for improvement, because you have one amazing waiter (he was the one serving me and friends every time). He is well trained. Don't lose him. Also the staff was nice in general. The location is cute and cosy. Most of the dishes are amazing and well balanced, but please tell the cook to be more careful with the asparagus, as it was either over or undercooked and also the rice needed some seasoning every time, as it was too bland. I will come back for some dishes though, like the Bream fillet with parsnip puree. That one was perfect

Food took around an hour to arrive and the place was not full at all. It was also quite expensive considering the price per quality. My spicy meal was not spicy at all but it was decent nonetheless. The mojito was bad compared to other places but the candy apple was great. They did mess up orders by giving me flat water instead of sprakling but I see this mistake happen often. The interior and music was welcoming though so props to that, I really liked the wall bookcase :) Lots of pros and cons so I suppose it is luck based. That is why I am giving Viva la Vida a 3 star rating. There is room for improvement.

We were rudely shown the door, because we were three people at a table of five seats on the terrace and refused to be accommodated inside the restaurant, at a table of four seats. I happened to pass the restaurant later: four people were sitting at that five seats table. Thus, the owner threw out three customers to get one more. Awfully inconsiderate and mean. It is ironic that the banner of the restaurant boasted a slogan sounding like this:”Make the world a better place.”

Delicious food and excellent service. Was there with two 4 yo kids and everyone catered to their needs as well (kids menu, half lemonade etc), food came out fast. The Quatro formaggi pasta and Bruschetta were wonderful. Will visit again with pleasure!

SCAM ALERT There is a guy that works here called "Lorenzo". He will be nice to tourists offering extra drinks "on the house" and will even invite them to have what he claims to be "a free ski session" with his cousin. When things get comfortable between you, he will ask to borrow some money urgently until his "boss" comes in couple of hours. Spoiler alert: the boss never comes! Even if you somehow expose a lie he tell he will just come up with new explanation. It seems like he has done that a lot. Don't bother try to ask for help at the place as they will always call him since he is the only one that speaks english! Easy scam if you ask me. When he knows that you are leaving he will disappear a bit and then will text you with things "hey please don't leave without your money" or " I am waiting for you now". Be careful! He is really good at being the nice guy. The place is nice though *.*

This is the most delightful bistro that I have ever visited here in Brasov. Everyone was lovely. I genuinely enjoyed the beautiful mushroom risotto and the wonderful strawberry shake.

If you want to serve a cup of medicinal tea and relax in a pleasant atmosphere this is the right place. Their menu is really cool. The design is impressive and the personnel is friendly. The bathroom was not quite clean but for the rest, no complaints. The prices are not high.

The food took forever to arrive ( approximately 50 min). The main courses arrived before the soups and brosketta. Stake wasn't prepared well. We were disappointed.

The waitress who took our order was new and didn’t know much, she had to go ask someone else about some of the things on the menu, she mixed up the order and brought us something else and it took over 1 hour of waiting for a burger that was not done right and was way overcooked. Not worth it!

The people were super rude. Really bad impression ! However the food was very decent and nice. It seems that it comes with a tradeoff

Very good accomodation for the price. The views were awesome and there were no hidden feed. Recommended for travelled looking to stay on the old Town square of Brașov.

Not recommended. Inside cosy, waiter was fine but food loveless prepared, nothing to remember, either tasteless. French fries were old and cold. Salad was just some greens thrown on the plate with some blue cheese and walnuts. Overrated.

Pros: one of the waiter was super kind and hard-worker. Nice place and good beverage. Cons: we had to wait more than an hour just for some toasts with Philadelphia and for two pieces of grilled pork with precooked fries. The toasts were very simple and the meat was really dry. Also the food in general was cold. Meat not tasty (we ordered the neck pork) Ver bad impression. We don't recommend it at all.

👍👍 We visited 6-7 times in our 2 months in Brasov - always food was top and very tasty, also good friendly service.
