My experience in this hotel was horrible from the moment we set foot, we were welcomed with a weird smell to the ally way to the rooms. we ordered on our reservation an extra bed but apparently it didn't appear on their side so we payed extra 20 euro per night, the bed came without an extra towel nor an extra bed sheet, when we tried to have an extra bed sheet it was dirty and plastic bags stuck to it, I was disgusted and would have rather sleep in the car. that was the first and last night. I stayed for the breakfast but no good was there I found hair in my food  and sarten substances in my drink, disgusted again I was. I left so I never return nor do I recommend staying in such old and dirty hotel.

Not sure how this hotel gets the great star reviews but oh well. I will say that you likely won't find a better location to stay in Brasov, so if you plan to walk the old town, there's no better place to stay. However, the place is horrifyingly run down. The carpeting in all of the hallways was horribly stained and damaged, the paint and walls in all of the common areas was dated and damaged, there was a device that constantly sprayed a type of perfume in the elevator area that smelled terrible and followed you everywhere. Our room was dated and in terrible shape. The bath was not clean, the bed was from the communist area, purchased at a yard sale from the former torture chamber, there were zero electrical outlets near the beds to charge you devices or power up anything. There was only one outlet which was on the other side of the room. I had to purchase an extension chord at a store to power up my cpap and charge my iphone - charge my camera. The whole thing smelled of a cigarette. So, my advice to the hotel would be to please update the hotel. My advice to people is that if you don't care about the niceties of life and being comfortable, you wont find a better location. My advice to Marriott, please buy this location, tear down this building, and build something nice.

The best part is the central location of the hotel and the views of the rooms. The hotel lobby also looks great and it is enormous. However, this is not a 5 stars hotel. I would rate it 3-4 stars based on the room quality. It is way too expensive for what it offers. Hot water is a major problem. Rooms are smelling of old and its amenities need upgrading. The pools are great in size but everything needs a 21st century update.

Nice place with good views. To go at least once. The staff are okay. Food very good. The rooms are clean and nice to stay in. Not many things to do near the place, it all depends of your scope. Other than that, all fine!

Pros - the staff is really friendly , comfy bed , great view from the room - been at 7th floor . The location is really awesome , 2 min walk from old city . The breakfast had everything I need . I loved the gym. Cons - The outside , by looking at the old building , looks really old , and got me a little shocked at first sight , but it was ok after a minute . Anyway , the room had a bit of a weird smell . In shower , the water sprayed to the sides causing the restroom floor to be a part of the bath . No power near the bed . AC hard to function . Jacuzzi almost cold , no bubbles . The sign of " please clean the room " and " do not disturb " is on the same paper from both sides , causing confusion , but they did compensate us for that .

I had a fantastic 3-day stay in the heart of Brasov at this incredibly welcoming hotel. The place is spotless, and the rooms are spacious – perfect for a business trip. The breakfast spread was truly impressive and diverse, and the food overall was excellent. Despite my busy schedule, I managed to catch some beautiful sunsets in the city center after work. Mornings were delightful, starting on the balcony with the peaceful city vibes and fresh light of a new day, followed by a refreshing dip in the hotel pool. It was so satisfying! I wholeheartedly recommend this place! 🥂🌇

I'm not sure where to start with this one. Seeing if from the road, I had a feeling of dread, the building looked old and in need of repair. Half of the hotel sign was missing, and it looked like a grey concrete block. The lobby is spacious with lots of leather sofas and chairs. Unfortunately, most of these are well worn with tears and cracks, and there is a piano stuck in the middle of nowhere. I only used the restaurant twice, the first time I waited 30 minutes just for somebody to take my order, this was only after I had spoken to them. I would recommend the ceasar salad but not the chicken with dumplings soup. It was tasteless and lacklustre. The rooms are large with everything you could ask for, but they are very dated. The safe is on the top shelf in the wardrobe. I'm 5foot5, and I had to stand on the chair to reach it, badly thought out. The shower is over the bath. No matter what precautions you take, when you have a shower, you will flood the bathroom This is the best one yet, I have never come across this, you cannot assume your room will be cleaned. Due to the lack of staff in the hotel, you actually have to put a sign on your door saying, "Please clean me" !!!! I have stayed in 2 hotels in Romania, and in both, the staff didn't smile. You struggled to get their attention, and everybody gave the feeling that everything was a chore for them.

As at the reception about parking. Because nobody tells anything and the parking meter charges 5x the amount you should be paying. And the hotel management doesn't care and don't refund anything if you pay.

Fine... A little bit too expensive, it doesn't feel like a 5 star hotel. It is clean. At breakfast you can find variety. The food it's ok but it's not hot. The deserts are good. The tea - very good. The coffee - meh... About the pool and "Spa" : from Monday to Friday they have swimming lessons for local kids (not for guests) and the pool it's full of floating kids, the water is not clean, if you want to swim you basically can't. We asked to clean the pool and they did, the next day it was clean (trust me, the water was nasty) Don't expect to find a real SPA, nothing new in the spa area (by spa they mean 2 crowded saunas, 1 tub with cold water and 2 showers) - the ambient it's very communistic. The location it's great. Ols city it's there, the area it's very nice.

Some staff on reception desk were unhelpful . The safe in the rooms were at the back of a very high wardrobe. Had to stand on a chair to reach it.then locked myself out of it and had to ask three times for it to be unlocked. Breakfast was varied and pentiful but cold. Dining room staff were very helpful. Well situated easy walking distance to the town centre.

A very nice experience, big, quiet rooms, everything is very clean and smells fresh, the bathroom is spacious has everything you need. Breakfast is delicious, huge variety of tasty dishes. The staff is friendly and attentive. I loved the pool! Its big and has deep side so there's plenty of space to swim, the transparent rooftop of the pool adds to the nice feeling of the place!

The pool is very large, the breakfast is also very good, the rooms are big and modern. The location is laso good, in the city center, 2-3 minutes walk to Piata Sfatului. You need to pay for the parking(it is cheaper if you park on the public parking places). Once they changed the breakfast without announcing us and we had the surprise to have established menus(this was not nice for 5* hotel). So for me it's a 4.5/5.

The rooms smell bad and they were very cold. They look very old, and you feel like you went back in the past in the comunism time

Love it’s longevity, tradition and style. Great service as always. Awesome city. Really recommend a trip down there, Brasov is the best city with great traditions and plenty indoor and outdoor activities. Do not miss this from your wishing /waiting TO DO list .

The best part about the Aro Palace Hotel is the location - it is not far from the main square in Brasnov. That is where the good ends. I am not sure how the hotel got it's 5 star rating? The hotel and especially the floor that we were on stank of paint fumes - I got a headache from it. The internet was awful to non-existent. The hotel is dated - the fridge did not work, the shower leaked and filled the bathroom floor with water, the carpets were grubby. Breakfast was a zoo - we battled to find a table. The staff were generally unfriendly and unhelpful.

A good 4 stars hotel overall, I might stay here again. I had a twin room for 2 nights, never went to the spa or pool to check them out, maybe next time. Pros: - Above average looking - Good food and coffee at breakfast - Nespresso machine in the room - Extremely good internet via cable in the room, 100mbps (if you unplug the TV), wifi on the other hand is bad - 24/7 reception - Very good location in the center - Fair prices at minibar - Good sleeping conditions at night (confy bed & pillows, dark room etc.) Cons: - No power outlets near bed or near desk. There's only one internet port but the tv is plugged in. I had to unplug de Nespresso machine and the tv's internet in order to work on my laptop. - Bad WiFi - Private parking very expensive (3 ron per hour) - Very thin walls, lots of noise coming from the hallway, you can basically hear everyone who walks by like they are in your own room. - Bad bathroom design, you're gonna make a big puddle when taking a shower, also the door is cleary swollen from all the water over time. Sometimes the toilet tank doesn't refil itself. - Housekeeper cleaned my room, took the dirty towels and never put clean ones back. - Balcony very tiny, good if you are a smoker, but there is no ashtray. - Lack of sweets and fruits at breakfast and not a lot of food options - Expensive private parking which makes the taxi and uber drivers to avoid getting inside of the hotel premises, leaving you to walk all the way to the entrance. Also if you order food, driver will wait for you at the parking lot's entrance.

Great hotel. Very helpful staff. Even helped me with the parking when I returned to Brasov but was staying somewhere else. Delicious breakfast, many options. The pool was good too.

Disappointed. A lovely hotel in a prime location with plenty of facilities BUT our room was not cleaned for three days as were others. The grand piano was locked closed with a clamp. The food was poor as was the service. Shame.

Definitely, the best location in town, probably this must be the "point zero" of Brașov. Aro Palace hotel is a masterpiece of interbelic architecture, one of the most valuated architectural legacies created by the creative and talented architect Horia Creangă. Despites of the fact that the main building and its amenities are not yet updated to the high-end standards for our "nowadays 5*****expectations" , the external shape and the interior space of the hotel, is still preserving its very genuine charm. That's a matter of time to put this unique compound of Romanian architecture to its fullest shining. Definitely will be one of the best from Romania, evaluated in the range of Top hotels. Moreover, soon it has almost 100 years of life. An whole lifestory behind...

In vain is the superb location, with landscapes that leave you breathless, decent conditions, if the people, that is, the collective of this hotel, is far from incompetent and of a rare insensitivity. Thank you! I won’t come back!

A very bad experience. Don't have the quality for the stars that shows. I recommend anybody to make the booking at the Radisson Blue nearby at same price or even lower, and will benefit in reality of several stars difference. I arrive here by mistake and I'll never come back.

We booked here because they have good reviews and accept dogs only to find out that the fee for our dogs would be 100€ a night - doubling the cost of the room. They we nice enough to cancel our booking when we arrived, but if we had known this beforehand, we would have never booked. We then had to find another place to stay on a Saturday night on a holiday weekend. Waste of time and planning.

Top rated hotel here in the middle of Romania. Very nice, modern look.

Well, a 5 star hotel where parking is to be paid seems unexpected. Went to the bar of this 5 star hotel, and asked bartender if they serve Long Island Icetea (well known long drink), and he replied saying they have only Fuzetea, and Nestea (and this is not a joke, he was dead serios) :))) made me laugh and realised that they hired the bartender for sure not based on his skills, so again 5 star hotel and 1 star bartender Rooms, ok...a bit outdated, mirror rusted in the bathroom, repairs are needed, if you want to have a 5 star room. Breakfast, was poor, same breakfast menu 3 mornings in a raw, and pooor selection... Overall I am giving 4 star rating just for the location!!

Excellent hotel. The location is very good, a few streets away from the central square, with many restaurant options nearby and attractions. The hotel is spacious, with good lighting, accessibility and very clean, there is a pool, spa and restaurant that serves a very tasty buffet breakfast. Our room was with mountain view, excellent! Coffee maker and mini bar. I highly recommend it. I was staying with my 2 year old son, it is kids friendly. And the staff very friendly too (Well, just a blonde woman at the reception desk who was in a bad mood) but the rest was perfect!

Had a 2 nights stay here. I’ll start by saying that the location is really prime, ultra-central. Historically, this is by far the most prestigious hotel in Brasov by a long shot. But unfortunately, it looks like it’s just stuck with the reputation and it struggles to adapt to 21st century. Besides the large rooms, I really don’t see why this hotel is really a five star. Extremely small, narrow balconies, no clothes iron in the room, and the water in the shower was not at the proper temperature. More than this: no power outlets next to the beds!! In 2023!! In a 5 star hotel! This is outrageous. Also some of the decorations or furniture seems like it was taken via a time machine straight from a 1986 Romanian communist movie. The breakfast was more than decent, and the facilities were also alright.

Probably best view in the city. Restaurant is a very tight run ship. Pool is clean. Lots of families and foreigners get accommodations here. Reception staff is very nice but they have so many forms to fill that you should expect a bit of wait time.

This place is not deserving of 5 star status. The service is unresponsive and rude. The air conditioning does not work. The rooms are stiflling hot. With the windows open, the street traffic is incredibly noisy and interrupts sleep.

  • 5/5 Norbert M. 1 year ago on Google
Been there for the first time in my life. The rumors are true, it is definetly high end, elegant and classic. Went for a conference, so I cannot evaluate the rooms, but the conference organisation was just perfect. Service of a very good quality. Toilet part was also clean as you can get. I would recommend to anyone without doubt. Major atractions are close by, great view, parking lot and professional outlook. I've been to places and Aro Palace for Brașov is the place to see.

  • 4/5 Mariana M. 1 year ago on Google
Nice, clean rooms, but old style, not 5 stars, I would give 4. Spa is available only 7:30_09:30 a.m. and then from 16:30 to 21:30, when it's rather crowded. For a 5star hotel, pool should be available all day, like other hotels. Location is great and staff is friendly. Breakfast is ok. I liked the view and it was a pleasant stay but for the same price, there arebetter options so wouldn't go 2nd time but don't regret to have tried it, either.
