A very disappointing experience. After we bought a parking permit for 5 Euros and received no ticket or other proof of payment, we walked up to the castle. A long way with no resting places, no benches, or other possibilities to sit down and rest. Outside the castle, in the surrounding area, some buildings are better looking than others. You can immediately see that the restaurants and cafes are somehow limited to price, offer, and space. Positive: it is a national cultural treasure built by the Romanian nation, now re-owned by the former royal family who used to rule the country. Negative: the administration of this place with all the sides and effects of such lousy management. Suggestions: the entry ticket should include in the price the entire castle and not just a part. You have to pay more than double to visit the other sections, which is wrong. Recommend: it depends! If you haven't visited it before, yes, you should see it. If you did, don't mess up your good memories.

The Peleș Castle is truly awesome and makes for an amazing day trip when you're visiting Romania with your family. It's worth planning an entire day for this visit because there's so much to see and do. First, you'll need to walk up for about 20 minutes, especially if you're unlucky and have to park your car farther down. However, this uphill walk through the forest on a cobblestone path is quite pleasant. Once you ascend, you can grab a snack like boiled or fried corn and apples in a sweet red syrup, so you don't need to worry about skipping lunch. Pro tip: When you spot the castle, you can take a shortcut by crossing the grassy area leading to it. Not many people do this, but it saves you time, and you can overtake those following the predefined road. Upon reaching the castle, you should get your tickets, and they don't mind whether you purchased them online or not; everyone goes through the same line. The prices are 59 for the first floor, 100 for the second, and 150 for the third. We opted for the first and second floors, which proved to be more than sufficient. Consider bringing your student ID as it may get you a discount. The castle is stunning and incredibly interesting to explore, well worth the money. However, by the end of the second floor, you might start to feel a bit tired, and you'll notice similar things, so it's perfectly fine to stop there. The castle's garden is also exceptionally beautiful and offers plenty of photo opportunities. Additionally, there's a souvenir shop on-site. Pro tip: • Make sure to use the shortcut to the castle • See two first floors • Bring your student card • Wear comfortable shoes

The Castle is preserved in good condition. Interiors are interesting and there are a lot of items to explore. If you are visiting during a weekend or a public holiday prepare to spend a lot of time in a queue, even if you have bought tickets online in advance. There are no guided tours as far as I know, only audio guides.

A must see when in Romania. Magnificent Palace in the middle of wonderful nature. Nice history as well (although shortly lived) and the decoration inside is brilliant. I liked the main hall with the great combination of marble, woodwork and carpeta. Also, the huge mirrors are pretty impressive for their time. I only did the short tour (no extra rooms) but I think it was sufficient.

Great place to visit, best or one of the best palaces of Romania, very well maintained. The visit of the gardens and a small exterior courtyard is free of charge and it is worth the walk from the center, also bus service for 40 euro cents. Interior closed on Mondays-Tuesdays. Be aware that at the entry of the gardens there is an Euronet ATM that will rip you off with high fees, there is another branch ATM just in the castle. 31.01.2022

Wonderful and beautiful place. The territory is cleaned, there are many places for photos and in general the atmosphere is excellent. The castle itself is impeccable, the interior is richly and beautifully decorated. Beautiful furniture, chandeliers and mirrors. You can pay separately for visiting the first floor, or two, or the entire castle at once. Children really like this place. I hope to return.

An absolutely majestic castle as if plucked from Romanian folklore itself. The image attached, although otherworldly, does not do the scenery true justice. I would also recommend continuing the hike up to the peak which also offers stunning views.

Very beautiful site. The interiors were all closed in february and, we were told, had queues for hours in summer. The exterior is very beautiful and feels like a slice of Bavaria in Romania. There is a small coffee shop and souvenir shop. The paths are steep and would a challenge for a wheelchair user as they are cobbled. Really enjoyed our visit but i do recommend having a guide.

  • 5/5 Petr V. 2 years ago on Google
It's very pretty both outside and inside. I think the ground floor ticket is enough as the first floor is just more of the same. Also don't bother with the photo ticket, no one cared for it inside, maybe unless you have a big professional camera.

Definitely a place to visit when heading into the Romanian countryside! If you visit Bucharest and plane to go to Dracula’s castle this is a great place to start. In my opinion comparing the 2 castles this is much more interesting. The beauty here is amazing and memorable. I highly recommend

We visited last year, 2021. And today we just walked through the park. It is a very beautiful castle, a national monument, built for the first king of Romania, Carol I of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen. It is spectacular, definitely worth seeing. As I said, we visited the inside of the castle last year, during the second year of the pandemic, so no people other than us. Today however, the queue was enormous, somewhere around 100-150 people. Pros: National monument, extremely beautiful. Spectacular view of the mountain. Cons: Chinese and German tourists, a long queue, 5€ parking although the parking is very close to the castle, but you can park somewhere in the city and take a bus near to a station near the castle, or just hike towards it. (first photo is from today, 2022, the others are from last year)

Worth visiting. Probably the nicest place in the whole Romania. Every single part of this palace is an art that took years to create. It is very good that everything survived, was not ruined and we can observe. The basic entrance fee is 40 lei, and for the double price you could allow to visit more rooms. I recommend to take a guide and to listen the story of the king's family

A truly magnificent and picturesque location. The grounds are immaculately maintained, with ample photo opportunities and an overall enchanting ambiance. The castle itself is nothing short of resplendent, its interior adorned with opulent and exquisite décor. Exquisite furnishings, lavish chandeliers, and gleaming mirrors adorn the halls. Visitors can opt to explore either the first floor, both floors, or the entire castle at their leisure. Children will be particularly enchanted by this enchanting site. I eagerly anticipate returning to this gem.

It is a magnificent Castle with its surrounding buildings and Garden. They charge a separate fee per floor to visit the castle. I'm warning you in advance. Don't waste money on the top floor (floor 2). I'm uploading the photos of all floors. Please check. The other two floors (I mean option 1 ticket) are more than enough. The castle closes at 17.00, but ticket sales end at about 16.00. Check out the photos I've uploaded regarding ticket prices and hours. Parking is 30 lei.

Great castle full of original furnishings, not a very old one so it's in perfect condition. Parking is 25 lei and admission is 50 lei per person for basic tour. Even early on a Wednesday it was very crowded and since it has small walkways inside it can feel very crowded.

One of the most beautiful castles I've ever seen. Spectacular interior and surroundings as well. Definitely worth visit and I'd prefer this one over the Bran castle if you short in time. One thing that seemed a lil odd is that as soon as you enter the castle and take a pic with your phone the staff asks for 35 lei for a permission to do that. I don't mind paying a few euros more but there's no signs about this extra fee when you buy a ticket 🤔 Plus there's no receipt given for such service. Looks a bit shady. It should be changed.

This is definitely the most amazing and castle in Romania. It's a must see if you visit this country. It has a lot of beautiful details and furniture. The downside is that some rooms are not open like the theater room which is amazing in pictures, and the fact that most descriptions are not translated in English and other languages

A very beautiful and historic castle that left me in awe. I would recommend entering, as the interior is as exceptional as the exterior. Worth every minute of the 3 hour (cause of traffic) drive from Bucharest. Would recommend visiting. I would also recommend buying your tickets online from their site, there was a big line on the Friday morning that I visited.

If you're a lazy person (like I was), you can pay 25ron to park the car closer to the castle or you can try and find parking on the street and walk up. I only visited the courtyard and garden. Because of covid, there is a limited number of people that can go inside, so you have to wait longer than usual. Gorgeous castle!

Beautiful setting, beautiful, unique interior. The intricate carved wood is breathtaking, and each room is special. However, don’t let guides tell you the woman in the painting and statue outside is “knitting.” They obviously don’t know a tatting shuttle when they see one haha! This castle is definitely worth seeing.

When you get to Sinaia there are a few attractions you have to see, and at the top of that list is the Peles Castle. This is the best preserved Castle in Romania, full of pieces of art and medieval weapons. Most of the walls and ceilings are hand carved in rare woods, a real work of art in itself.

Beautiful place, with interesting story. But does not look like Romania, looks like Bavaria, but it worth visiting. From my point of view Bran’s Castle is better, it really looks like a medieval castle.

The beauty and scenery of this place is truly breathtaking. Of course it was absolutely PACKED with people and so busy. It’s interesting to hear the history of this place and later grab a coffee (pricey) with the view of the castle. Definitely worth going!

The most beautiful castle i have ever visited. Both the exterior and interior are breathtaking. Highly recommend getting the full ticket or atleast the ticket for the second floor. The castle is very well preserved and the details in every room are absolutely gorgeous. A must visit if you go to Romania.

Beautiful castle, outside and inside. Perfect location as well, natural place, nice promenade to the castle. Luxurious piece of architectural and historical jewlery. Be careful and leave the area before the night comes, as bears might appear, there is forest all around and brown bears sometimes come lured by the trash bins.

A magnificent german-styled/built palace (I would argue that it is a palace, not a castle) with beautiful decorations on the exterior (extraordinary in cases), equally beautiful room (each one with its own character) and great history. The gardens are one of the most impressive feats of the experience with vast areas covered in green and nice cobbled streets leading to the other sights of the area. The only downsides seen is the fact that the cafes located there are not offering the "magical" experience that the whole feat should (they are crowded and don't seem to care.

It is an absolutely fabulous building. Unfortunately it is very expensive to visit. The parking is 25 Ron and then to visit the building is either 40 or 80 Ron. We did not enter, just visited the garden and court. It is really stunning and is worth a stop. It is surrounded with similar buildings and nature.

Hi everyone, if you are in Brasov or around the area of Sinaia, please stop and have a look at this master piece of a castle, I been here many times in my life and I can't stop going when I am around the area, the views are amazing and the palace is well maintained and looks as it did in 1800+, if you have the chance to visit please go inside as that is beautiful too and full of history, they have two car parks and plenty of shops and restaurant around, amazing views with Snow but most likely the busiest time its the summer, worth your time to stop here trust me, this is considered one of the most beautiful castles in Romania !

The Castle itself was unfortunately closed when we went to visit, however we were still allowed to walk in the grounds. It was one of the first castles I ever visited that is actually beautiful and a place you would actually want to live in. It was extremely beautiful. The colours, the statues, the details in architecture... I wish it was open so we could have seen the inside which I can only assume would have been just as magnificent. Will definitely visit again soon.

Beautiful castle with amazing views and hiking trails and perfect picnic spots, small river flowing through and wild foxes everywhere!!! It's so amazing to see them in their natural habitat, and one even came up to me, nice restaurants and Kisosks where you can buy a variety of different stuff, the place is stunning!!! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting in the area. 10/10 great experience guaranteed!!!!!!!

One of the best castles in the Balkans. Worth a visit - you may plan a day there. Lots of history in the rooms - one may use a tourist guide to accompany his/hers tour of the castle. Outside the castle there is a well preserved park that is part of the mountains there.

Majestic castle, even more beautiful under the snow. We arrived just on time for the last entrance at 16h15. The castle is supposed to be open until 17h, but we were pressured during the whole visit by the staff to move quickly to the next room. In the end, we were forced to end the visit after 20min inside only. I understand they want to go home, but if its written it's closing at 17h, then it should be respected. It was not a nice feeling to be pushed out like this. Other than that, the interior is really beautiful too.

The castle is beautiful. We went with a tour guide, the tickets can be purchased online or at the counter. Our tour guide did mention about technical issues when booking online. So be careful. Our guide also sold tickets in the bus at no additional charge. We did go during Christmas and the lines were huge. The toilet is just before the enterance and this can get pretty crowded too. The castle is beautiful will well decorated rooms. We may have spent around an hour inside. The outside lawns are equally fantastic.

Just a stunning place to visit, it’s magical. worth every penny. Recommend the tour of the palace, even the little markets at the end of the tour are amazing! Just a tip check out the times of the tour and the finale tour hours, because if you’re late, unfortunately they won’t let you in at all! Apart from that, it’s stunning!

Probably one of the most beautiful castles in Romania. It is worth a visit, so if you are planning to stay in Bucharest or Brasov, then, it is a must in your itinerary. You can come from Bucharest by train to Sinaia, although you have to walk from there to the castle and it will take you half an hour. Taking a tour from Bucharest is easy and comfortable and you will get directly to the castle. If you are going to buy the tickets online, pay attention to the opening days, as optional tours I and II are only available from Wednesday to Sunday. It is a small castle compared to other in Europe but it is stunning! A regular visit can take you 45 minutes if you are in a guided tour and 20 minutes of you are going to visit the castle in your own.

A really neat place to visit- very different from other palaces and castles we’ve been to, and different from Bran as well. The outside and grounds are very nice to look at. When you go inside you have the option to just the ground floor; ground and 1st door; or all three floors. We did the ground and 1st floor. The ground floor was interesting and unless you’re really into furniture it’s probably enough. the first floor was just the bedrooms and guests rooms. The whole thing took us maybe an hour, 1:15. Only the very basic info is displayed in each room- it’d be nice if more of the individual pieces were labeled. Would also be nice to have a bit more about the family included.

A must see castle of Queen (Regina) Maria of Romania who was a Baha'i. Her private place with many nice details. The Golden Room with the flags has her heart conserved in a silver box.

  • 4/5 André M. 2 years ago on Google
Unfortunately, the castle was closed on a Tuesday, despite the information available on the TripAdvisor tour that we took from another company (which only stated that it was closed on Mondays...). However, the site of the Castle provided the correct information, so it's not their fault. Nonetheless, the surrounding is beautiful and the castle, even from the outside, is gorgeous. It's a mandatory stop, specially if you're then going to Brasov and the Dracula Castle.

  • 2/5 lillian h. 2 years ago on Google
Palace was just okay and not the best in Europe. Compared to the price, it’s too expensive. As a national tourist attraction, you have to pay cash! Are the tickets center still live in ancient times? No photo shooting without buying the shooting tickets, but it’s not shown on the list of ticket office. The staffs inside the palace asked money for shooting and more like tip for them. What a shame!

Wow!! Wow!! Wow!! What a sight for sore eyes! So incredible!! Mesmerizing!! Beautiful!! Fantastic!! Sooo gorgeous to see! The history and details.. All is incredible!! Must visit! The castle is beautiful. Watch out for the opening hours. In the Christmas/new year period sometimes it’s closed and sometimes they only open the ground floor and then you pay 40 RON per person to enter. The tour is pretty short then, but there is a lot of information inside in English. You can only pay cash at the ticket office. There is an atm close by but pay attention because it adds several RON to your withdrawal amount.

This is the royal palace during 19 th and 20th century. I visited it in a tour group. Better than have your ticket in advance. There is a nice restaurant and gift shop. Large green landscape around the palace. From inside, its an amazing palace, great decoration, there are multiple rooms and receptions. It is showing how the royal family was living, thr recent history of Romania. Sure, this palace worth to visit it.

Great scenery and weather! At an altitude of about 900m above sea level you definitely feel the fresh air. We didn’t go inside as in my opionion the €10 entry per person is a bit excessive but then I don’t know what I’ve missed! There is a restaurant near by and local market (definitely worth a visit as they have local products).

"Our Romanian friends took us there for a visit, and I must say, I was amazed by its architecture. It was built by King Carol as his summer residence and hunting lodge. One interesting fact we learned is that it was the first European castle to have electricity. The castle is surrounded by a beautiful landscape of mountains, forests, and gardens. It is a must-see attraction for anyone who loves architecture, culture, and nature. It's around one hour and forty minutes away from Bucharest."
