I just went on this amazing location this sunday with two of my music mates, really excited to see the place where a composer that we admire lived. Unfortunately we spent 2 hours on a road that normally takes 20 minutes because of the constructions, so we arrived at 16:35 and the hour for the last entry is at 16:30. We entered in the garden of Enescu mansion and we had a pleasant welcome from the security that told us firmly “I want you to leave this property “. We explained the situation and that we really want to take a look for 10 minutes and then a woman (probably the manager or something) told us that she armed the security sistem already (so if you get there at 16:30 you probably won’t be able to leave the mansion until next day😂) and she told us “You can come tomorrow to visit. Oh, but tomorrow it’s closed, I don’t work, haha” and then she left us. So the point is that the place is wonderful and hides so much history about our greatest romanian composer, George Enescu, but the personal is terrible and they don’t care about young curious musicians, even if they spent 2 hours on the road and made it late only for 5 minutes.

Please be aware that the last tour starts at 4:30pm. A minute after and they close shop and nobody is allowed inside the memorial house. However, what I know about the memorial house is that it belonged to the greatest Romanian musical composer of all times who built it for three years from 1923 and 1926 and named it Luminis which means clearing in Romanian. In 1947, since he had already been living in Paris at the time, he donated the castle to the Romanian state. His statue from outside the building is done by Ion Irimescu sculptor from Fălticeni.

Beautiful memorial house of the greatest Romanian conductor and violonist, George Enescu. The house is full of stories and the museum hosts also classical music concerts.

The museum is worth a visit if you are in Sinaia. I believe is undervalued for its beauty. Was built in Neo-Romanian style.

Although it was Enescu's birthday, we weren't allowed to visit the place after five pm.. They could have extended the schedule..( they also had a concert scheduled after five pm).

Interesting story with audio guide. The ladies are very nice and also provide some additional information. The tour was short. If you're in Sinaia, it can be worth a visit for art lovers. Every 26th of the month is free entrance.

Very interesting to see the house he visited yearly for I believe over 20 years. The brunette lady was extremely knowledgeable and helpful but was put off by the tone and attitude of the second lady (blonde) who seemed to talk down on us and rushed us out of the building. My friends left as they were completely put off by her.

Not sure if it was because it was a Sunday just before closing but the tour seemed very abbreviated. And the piano as of this moment (May 2023) was away for conservation. But an interesting house and some nice items. Suggest reading up on Enescu first as you won't learn a lot here.

Bit expensive. Many stray dogs in the parking lot. Nice and friendly staff.

The house in witch the great musician George Enescu lived. A museum a little bit different than the others. IF YOU ARE IN BISTENI ...YOU MUST VISIT THIS MUSEUM . You will not regret it.

Although not as popular as the Peles Castle, the museum is worth a visit when in Sinaia, to get an idea of the interior of a local house built in Neo-Romanian style. Everything is well preserved. They offer an audio guide, which unfortunately is only in Romanian. English explanations are written only. The ticket is cheap. While there, take a walk around the houses in the neighborhood.

Amazing place, full of good vibes and energy. Was the best 10 Ron (2€) I ever spent

[visited several times after 2007, most recently in 2019] Called Vila Luminiș, the house is very beautiful, both inside and out, classy in an unpretentious way - a much more modest building than the Cantacuzino Palace in close-by Bușteni, to which this house is connected via Enescu’s wife. Small musical events happen periodically on the ground floor (at least they used in pre-pandemic times).

The museum is devoted to the greatest romanian composer, George Enescu. You can glimpse into his past and get to see where he lived and performed for a part of his life. Entrance is quite cheap and it's well worth to make a stop.
