The nice people made the huge difference for this place. The building by itself is impressive with 1 meter wide walls with a long hallway from one end to another. The furniture is not the original one but the restauration team put a lot of work into re-creating the atmosphere in 19th century when the Cassel lived his glory period. The garden only worth paying a visit if the weather is nice.

I grew up in that village, I saw the castle in ruins and now is a jewel of the county. They really did a great job in restoring the castle. Maybe the garden would need more attention. You have to buy the tickets from the stone pub at the entrance. It a great view back in history. I just hope they won't break the peacefulness of the place.

The architecture is lovely, but the garden and the website could use some upgrading and tending to. I couldn't reach the guide by the mobile phone given by them officially. I strongly advise you try to call first, to check the availability. When I got there, I had to wait about 30 minutes before the guide came out of the castle with a senior couple. It was rude to tell us (myself and my parents) that he's not in mood to guide us anymore, since it was lunchtime (nowhere officially written somewhere), and we should come another day. We live about 200 km away from the castle, so the opportunity was lost. There was no sort of official schedule he abode by, which was a disappointment. We didn't get to visit the castle anymore.

What a beautiful hidden jem! If you want to experience how the Transylvanian nobles lived, and how a Transylvanian noble mansion looked like you want to find this place in the heart of rural Transylvania. It's beautifully restored hunting mansion/rural castle. You can walk around in the garden, enjoy the little pond and you can explore the castle with the guided tour. The personal is very helpful and kind and they make your visit a great experience. You can feel the love what they invest In this place. definitely recommend you to make a stop here for a few hour, and enjoy the authentic Transylvanian experience. There is a small restaurant or coffeshop right in the castle ,so you can make a very unique, noble pit stop!

Wonderfully restored castle with a cosy rustic pub nearby where you can have a drink while waiting for your turn to start the visit. The garden and the castle are absolutely stunning, the latter having been fully restored in 2017. The only reason for not rating it 5 stars is the fact they did not have enough audio-guides for the entire group. They only had ~7 audio-guides and we were ~15 people so we had to awkwardly share a device with someone else. Sort of a cringey "bonding" experience in a post-Covid era.

One of the hidden jewels in this area with good organisation and both a beautiful inside and outside. You must buy tickets (cash only) at The Stone Pub (50m walking distance from the castle) and wait a bit for a group to form to get the inside tour. But while you wait, you can either visit the exterior of the castle or get something to drink or eat in The Stone Pub - nice authentic rustic decor. Once inside the Kalnoky Castle, you get an audioguide that explains about every room and where the objects come from, but if you have any questions, there is a guide that can answer them. It's a must see if you're in the area during the weekend.

One of the beautiful castles in this area with a good organization and very beautiful inside and outside. You need tickets (cash only) at The Stone Pub, 5 minutes' walk from the castle. You can either visit, drink and eat The Stone Pub - a beautiful rustic setting. Inside Kalnoky Castle, you get an audio guide that explains about all the rooms. If you have any questions there is a guide who can answer you - Ferenc - a special and very helpful guy.

Beautifully renovated and decorated castle, with a wonderful garden. A big surprise was how the spacious basement was arranged. It is only 46 km away from Brașov, definitely worth a visit.

A wonderful experience, a beautiful restoration, with a personalized tour of the Castle given by Mathias Kalnoky, who will answer a lot of your questions. He speaks German, Hungarian, English and is still learning Romanian (be patient with him) - alternatively, you can request an audio guide. For tickets, check at the local pub, and usually the tours start hourly. For further info, check their website as they offer a wide range of tours and activities - especially if you check-in at their guesthouses, the staff is very welcoming and helpful. All in all, a worthy way of spending your time learning about the local history and customs.

We were not able to visit the castle on the inside because of electricity issue, but they allowed us to enjoy the garden. Liked the idea of using the castle as an event location, i imagine that they might be very beautiful

The place is amazing! I was really impressed about all the things you can see there and also how well are maintained. I would recommend a training for manners for the boy who accompanies visitors.

A must see for Covasna! Recently renovated, with a very nice guided tour of the interior, where you will find out useful information about the history of the area. Audio guide available. A good place to have an icecream & coffee, either in the cool cellar or in the backyard garden. Beautiful garden with pond all very well taken care of. Guided tour starts every hour, last one at 16 and you have the guide’s phone available at the main gate.
