The place to be when the sun comes down. During the day way too hot because lack of shade. There are many options of cafes and restaurants. But nevertheless I would recommend one at the small town square (Piata Mica) instead.

It's a huge challenge. It's surrounded by cafes and restaurants like everywhere else. However, the square is still empty because it is so big. There are great events going on. I could not attend because the time did not suit us. but be sure to stop by the fountain with pool in the middle. If you look carefully, you can see the sparrows playing water inside. Must visit this square

Sibiu will always be a pleasure🤩.It is that type of town that combines history, architecture, colour, silence, good food, and people from all around the world. Choose it anytime when you need a break and when you need to be inspired and to have a relaxing and quality time with your friends or family. Also, you need to visit the Church and to enjoy the views from the tower.

Beautiful square, it is full of restaurants and there isn't one of them that I wouldn't recommend. The atmosphere in the square is calm and cozy. There is usually a fountain there but I never see it on anymore. There are many events hosted there, last time I visited there was a rally. There are also new year's celebrations and Christmas markets and even more incredible events. A must visit if you are in the area.

Central quite large square in Sibiu. Brukenthal Museum is there, "Turnul Sfatului", as well as the City Hall and the Greco Catholic church. Of course a Starbucks and more restaurants of all kind.

Definitely one of Romania’s most beautiful squares. Several restaurants with outdoor dining to enjoy, while viewing the beautifully restored and maintained building facades enclosing the amorphous-shaped square.

One of the beautiful square in Romania sorrounded by old wonderful buildings. The interesting thing is that special windows on the roof looking like eyes glancing at you from above. You'll like it for sure!

It is always a pleasure to visit Sibiu old city center. Every year the Christmas Market is organized here for the public, and it is one of the most beautiful Christmas markets from Romania. The atmosphere is stunning with the Christmas lights on the walls of the old buildings from the square. The sound is magic, carols the small houses offering gifts. It is certainly a nice place to prepare your soul for the holidays and to enjoy a mug of boiled wine.

I walk through "Piața Mare" twice a day, when I go to school and when I go back at home. I see a lot of tourists from every country.

Part of the ensemble of three medieval square of Sibiu, the Grand Square it is connected with the Small Square and Huet Square. As its name says, it is the main largest square of the town and the main one. Here you will find the finest restaurants and cafes (some of them a little pricey though), brand shops, and art galleries. It is also the place were festivals and concerts take place in summer so keep that in mind if you book accommodation nearby.

Absolutely nice cool place. We have been there in the evening and also in the morning the next day. Super to just walk around and see the place.

Great place with many historical buildings, great restaurants, patios and coffee shops. Many ice cream vendors and traditional Romanian pastries.

Large square surrounded by Baroque buildings, restaurants and cafés. Good spot for those who enjoy feeding pigeons. Lots of benches to sit on, however not a smart idea to visit the square around noon time: there's not much shade as there are not many trees left in the area. If you came to attend some show or concert in Sibiu, it's most probably going to be held here.

A very impressive architectural complex of this Transilvanian burg with gorgeous buildings spanning the whole history of the city. The actual square is lacking any place to sit and take a brake. It's full of expensive terraces and lacks any greenery.

It is great for what it is. Sibiu has been one of the first to make their couple central squares pedestrian and they are a joy. Awesome restaurants, clean and lively, great architecture. I do feel they could do more though. Fountains maybe or something meaningful historically could be on permanent display here.

Amazing Christmas Market. Very pleasant atmosphere and cozy. All the attractions are well managed and apparently safe. Prices are on the high side. While not Christmas market, the plaza is big and airy with lots of things to see and enjoy.

Very good. Not PC to say but not what one imagines (incorrectly) about Romania - clean, safe, like an affordable version of middle Europe. English no problem, people friendly, no taxi rip-offs. Amazing, eye-opening, save yourself some headaches from over-thinking and just come and check it Sibiu, Transylvania) out for yourself.

Very lovely and huge square, especially during Christmas time. There are not as many people as in other European Cities so it was really pleasant to be there.

Lots of places to visit that will facilitate you to dig deep into the old town's history and roots. This place is hundreds of years old. Going back to medieval times. Imagine the square being populated by horses, people, carriages bells and merchants. One of the clocks in the square's towers is 800 years old.

Hosting the Christmas Market, Piața Mare is a must see for every tourist. There are a lot of stalls selling christmassy souvenirs, local food and mulled wine, as well as an ice-skating rink, a ferris wheel and the big Christmas tree. Very lovely any time of the year.

  • 5/5 Cosmin-Adrian M. 1 year ago on Google
Great place to visit. Second time, now in the Christmas period. The lights, fabulous! Services, okish! Could be better and a little bit cheaper. People always with a smile on their faces. Hard to find a bathroom, we search minutes and minutes. No need for reservations or tickets in advance. Also at some sales spots only cash allowed. This is unacceptable for 2023! We're traveling from Cluj city and we park in the Cazarma 90 parking lot. After a short wait we managed to enter and park. Also we used the AC charger. Price for parking was 2RON/hour and 1RON/kWh for energy @evgo station.

  • 5/5 Giorgos B. 1 year ago on Google
Wonderful square that travels you back in time. Visited it in early December, where the Christmas market was already set up. The scenery during the night was amazing!

The heart of Sibiu's old town. The vintage german architecture is amazing, so are the world famous "eyes" on the houses all around the place. Everything is so nicely preserved and alive, full with great atmosphere and everyone is super friendly. We had a great day in Sibiu, just chilling, sightseeing and drinking beer. One of the best places to be in Romania!

Piata Mare is stunning! Connected to the Piata Mica by the towers and then nearby Piata Huet is also stunning, clear Germanic style architecture. Lovely to people watch, the kids playing by the fountain and observe the famous "Sibiu Eyes" houses on the square.. We had a lovely stay at Hotel Am Ring with rooms overlooking the square and tower Sibiu is a must, such an enchanting city to visit! 🥰

I loved my time here , walking trough the market and the downtown. The architecture is very rich and every 50 meters there's a museum, and old restaurant or a nice traditionally themed hotel.

Great place on a sunny day to sit on a bench or at a cafe and watch the world. Children feeding pigeons, squeeling with delight, tourists awestruck by the ancient city.

Yleisesti voi sanoa Sibiun vanhan kaupungin olevan ihastuttava paikka.

If you're visiting, do yourself a favor and check this place out, it's very worth it : magnificent buildings all around you, watching over them with their eyes. You might think : eyes? You'll see when you get there... Hint : look up and around. I especially like that traffic is not allowed into places like this in this city, so you can walk on the whole width of the road.

O piata larga cu multe terase de jur imprejur und epoti savura cafeaua. Un poc care nu trebuie ratat daca vizitezi Sibiul. Tot aici au loc numeroase evenimente cum ar fi ArtMania, Targul de Craciun etc.
