Really enjoyed this park. Beautiful scenery. Can be difficult to know what trail you're on. We ended up on 7km one, indicated it should take 4 hours but it took us two and a half hours, stopping occasionally to take in the views. Parts were steep and difficult but manageable. I'd suggest you are moderately fit to enjoy it. The trail was marked with a red circle surrounded by a white circle.

What a hike! The trails are very well marked. The hike can be as difficult or easy as you'd like. Those with small dogs and children should avoid the ascent to the peak as it's not an easy hike up. If you stay inside the Cheile between the gorge, then it's pleasant and an easy hike. Be sure to have your own car as a Bolt or Uber is impossible to acquire.

Beautiful gorge. It is possible to just walk around the river back and forth the same way, which is an easy route. Or it's possible to take the red trail around the top. This route is considerably more challenging with an elevation gain of several hundred metres, but it's a wonderful circuit that takes you up to the top of the mountains and then back down to the river.

Very nice and clean park. We had a good and challenging walk, as it was pretty slippery on some places, which is logic on a stoney path this time of the year. Unfortunately the weather was not that good for a climb to enjoy the views, but we’ll do that next time. Sturdy shoes are advised.

Great location to spend the day, not too far away from Cluj-Napoca (30 min drive)! Peace and quiet, not very crowded and has free parking. There are several places where you can grab something to eat when you get back from trip.

Great place to stay in the middle of the travel for a relaxing break. At least for us. You can take a path to the top and get back by going along the canyon’s path. Great views and super pleasant walk. Some bars by the entry to canyon, and a camping site nearby.

Nice location for hiking, with well marked hiking routs with different difficulty levels and picturesque views from the top. The near suituated zip line is also must to do

Stunning views at the top with many activities, food trucks and stalls. Down the bottom there are more. A beautiful bridge over the river is a short walk from the bottom, furthest car park. Wear sporty clothes and shoes if you’re wanting to spend more time and do the hikes.

Lovely walk in a beautiful area just outside Turda. We've done many like this in many countries but this was one of the most rural, with so much nature around us. Free parking and a few cafes and restaurants at the start. Lots of different walks to do from 2-6 hours! One is even longer if you're up for it!

I visited Cheile Turzii, and I was amazed by its beauty and impressive nature. The place offers various hiking routes of different difficulty levels, and I decided to choose the path leading to the panoramic viewpoint (46.56449681537717, 23.67642999099534) as I had limited time, and it was the perfect route for a walk with children. The route, approximately 3.5 km long, takes you through forests, bridges, and streams, adding pleasant natural elements to the journey. The difficulty of the route was easy, allowing us to enjoy the surrounding environment and beautiful views of the cliffs. Cheile Turzii has spots where you can engage in rock climbing, either professionally or with an instructor. This provides a unique opportunity for adventure enthusiasts to test their skills and admire the breathtaking views of the cliffs. There is also a cafe at the parking area (which is paid), where you can grab a bite to eat and relax after the hike.

Very cool, unmissable. You need good hiking shoes, the stones are slippery, you have to be careful. The chain part is exciting but doable.

Great place to visit for a short getaway from the busy city, the road is great. If you're coming from Petreștii de Jos, the last 500m are on a narrow dirt road but totally manageable even without an SUV.

Great place for a nature hike, just half to push through the full parking lot and all the stalls selling stuff. Entrance is almost hidden so be careful not to pass it. Entry in the nature park is free.

It has a magnificent scenery with the combination of forest, grassland, huge rocks and a small creek inside the canyon. Walking inside the canyon needs care and safety but it's a good place to refresh your mind and body.

Absolutely beautiful. Walk through the gorge is stunning, over the top of the gorge is a proper hard hike - wouldn’t do that but again with young kids - but definitely worth a visit.

Not much to see, you can't walk the path easily from the car park. It is literally quite difficult to get to the car park let alone walk around. The road to there is mostly pebbles and holes in the ground, not even potholes, as potholes would mean I'm being polite about it. There's no proper path and there's grass and hedges covering most of it. Can't comment much because it was difficult to go far enough to actually see much of what's there. Shame, they could do so much more to make it more tourist friendly, but it's Romania, the money has to get into someone's pocket rather than invest it into the upkeep of natural reserves of course.

If you enter from the Est side there is good beautiful hiking trail that takes you all around just follow the red DOT after you cross the first bridge. This hiking trail takes you firts upside to see the Cheile Turzii than on the otherside you come inside of the Chei. Whach out because the rocks are very slippery when it rains. The hike it takes around 3-4 hours but offcours that depends on your condition. Have fun!!

It’s a really beautiful spot. Half of the time you walk in shade, so this mini tour/hike can be done even when it’s a really warm day (we walk through the Gorge in 28 degrees Celsius around noon). It took us 3 hours from our parked car to reach the other end, rest a little and go back to the car. Some areas are more narrow and you have to wait a little for others (coming from the other direction) to pass next to you.

It's a great place to spend a weekend day! Beautiful nature and the trail is quite easy to finish with a pair of proper shoes. It must be seen especially when you consider the fact that it's very close to Cluj-Napoca.

Very beautiful place ,the whole thing takes min. 3 hours,a little bit dangerous for kids because the rocks are very slippery,so bring some mountain climber shoes,if you go at summer bring much water, not so much food, the entry tickets are not expensive,if you want you can swim, everyone should take one day off and come here .

The trail through the gorge is very nice, but on some parts it has big rocks that are a bit slippery.

  • 3/5 Rita A. 3 years ago on Google
A bit overrun by tourists, but the high rock walls are impressive. If you make the effort to walk all the way to the end of the gorge, which is very easy, it is quite loveley. Even better: take the path marked with a red dot and white circle on the way back. Taxing but rewarding. Make sure you wear walking or hiking shoes!

  • 5/5 Elisa B. 3 years ago on Google
Very good walk, if you are with dogs be aware that a lot of people give unsolicited opinions about not liking them and how they shouldn't be on the walk. Ignore them and enjoy the walk. Can be slippery definitely not recommend for elderly and be careful with toddlers.

(Translated by Google) Just 13 km from Turda, opens one of the most beautiful and impressive key sectors in Romania - Cheile Turzii - a Nature Reserve. The Turzii Gorges were formed during 150 million years as a result of the action of the Hășdate brook, a small tributary of the Arieș, in the Jurassic limestones of the Trascău mountains. Interweaving legend and reality, Cheile Turzii takes your breath away with their majesty and richness. They cover an area of 170 hectares and are almost two kilometers long and have a level difference of almost 350 meters. The rock walls, up to 200 meters high, the mysterious caves, rare plants and hiking trails make the Turzii Gorges an impressive place. A smooth road winds through the forest-covered hills that then make way for the rocky landscape. The complex reservation - geological, floristic, faunal, archeological - which includes the area houses over 60 caves, such as Hungarian Cave, Morarilor Cave, Binder Cave, Great Fortress and Small Fortress Caves, Modoloaie Cave, Hidden Cave, but also a series of rocky corners, columns, steep walls. A special place is the stone cathedral called the Sharp Tower with the Cave of Hili where there is an impressive via ferrata route, next to the Citadel Corner, the Yellow Tower, the Bors Tower.

There's also a zip line there, and it costs 50ron per person. Sadly of your want to eat, you don't have a lot of options just BBQ mostly, so if you're a vegetarian, bring your own food 🧘‍♂️

Very nice for a walk, i have been there with my girlfriend and we walked a hundred times on the river track, now was the first time doing the circuit track and get to the cross, the view and track was amazing, it was winter and still breathtaking views. It's a little hard in the first half but it's easier from the middle of the track to the cross. The track has the red dot marking and you can start it from the "Cabana Cheile turzii" parking lot between 2 buildings. You have a parking lot near all the tracks, food trucks, restaurants and a zipline for adrenalin lovers. There is no entering fee on the tracks. The river track take about 2 hours to get to the other side, the cross on the mountain track takes about 1 hour and a half till you arrive at the cross, it all depends on your speed. The tracks can be easy to medium. There is no water or ilumination on the tracks.

Already visited twice, and I will definitely come the 3rd time, that's how much I love this place. Besides the beautiful nature, the food is delicious. After you do the walking thru the Keys, you can enjoy a good coffee and something to eat.

A beautiful place to visit with the family. The natural trail is quite long but worth it. There are few places for food and drinks at the entrance.

Cheile Turzii is a great place to visit! You can spend an entire day there hiking through the valley and back to the parking area where you can enjoy lunch or try the incredible Zipline!

Beautiful natural landmark with a bunch of different hiking trails. You have to be very careful when hiking even on easy trails. Safety requirements are not really that well implemented. Also, no park rangers. Lots of vendors, zip lines and whatnot. The trash area is a bit of a nightmare. Honestly, it could've been better organized.
