Great monastery to visit, exquisite paintings. The rare colour in the world said to be one of a kind, unique in the world unable to replicate, the "Blue of Voroneț". Great history behind this monastery. If you are in the area definitely visit this monastery. You can buy souvenirs at the gate.

Entrance 10 lei, it opens at 9:00. We came in at 9:10 and it was already full of people. You can sit in the garden and watch the paintings all around the monastery. There are excursions coming so it gets really crowded by kids. I consider this the most beautiful cultural heritage in Romania. You can have a horse ride in front of monastery, and buy homemade products.

The monastery felt small and faded comparing to all the national hype about it. Paintings are everywhere, almost cramped on every inch of space - impressive work for the XV century but lacking a real sense of greatness. The nearby chaotic alleys, souvenir shops, construction works also does not contribute to the enchantment. Ongoing outside renovation works will make it more of a tourist kitsch attraction, rather than a quiet, inspiring, religious historic place. Unimpressed with it, happy to have visited it in a quiet day without the hassle of jam-packed crowds, parking spots hunt, bad taste cheap souvenirs. I liked the rural vibe in Voronet, though, which transpired in that quiet out-of-season day

Wow, wow, wow. I have seen this monastery 3 or 4 times already in my life and I am still completely breathtaken by it. It's just amazing to me that every single inch of the building was painted in the most beautiful way. Above all, I love the inside, especially the part where Stefan the Great "gives" the monastery as a present to God. It's incredible that we can actually see Stefan 500 years later.

A must see on the list of monasteries in the Bucovina region. It is renounced for it's highly intricate and originally coloured exterior paintings. The nuns are able to provide elaborate guided tours and explanations in several languages to larger groups. It is well worth the visit if you are in the region.

Loved it! Loved that they have a guide that tells The story of the monastery, referring both to religion and history.

The most famous Romanian painted church, founded in 1488 by the Moldavian ruler Ștefan the Great. It impresses with the beauty of the painting, with its simplicity and serenity. The exterior is painted with religious scenes, on a blue background known as "Voroneț blue". Unfortunately, the exterior of the monastery's perimeter is sound and visually polluted by an opportunistic and unorganized commercial agglomeration, which disturbs the visitor and does not suit the sacred character of the location.

An amazing place, deserved to be an UNESCO World Heritage site. I felt good in the calming atmosphere there. Visited in the first hour of opening so there was no crowd. Absoulutely beautifull.

Remarkable place. Crowned during a public holiday. The nuns offer an explanation of the frescoes but only in Romanian.

Beautiful monastery. The paintings are interesting to look at (and play a game of eye spy with the kids) and the structure is eye catching. I enjoyed learning about the history of this monastery, I highly recommend having someone read about the background as you drive so you can learn fun things to look for once you arrive! Lastly, of course, it was exciting to see the “Voronet blue” for myself!

Beautiful church to visit. A bit more touristy than others in the area. They charge you to enter whereas some of the others are free although when visiting monasteries it’s always a nice gesture to make a donation. You have to pay to park. It’s true that the paintings have faded on one side of the building but don’t let it put you off visiting Voronet. I loved it and would go back again to visit.

I have been countless time to visit Voronet Monastery. And it still surprise me. Every picture every stone and every non are teaching me.something new. It is the pride of Moldova and the most known place to understand the history of Moldova.

The monastery it self is wonderful, the private parkings and the toilets are a let down, the round to the monastry is filled with merchandise, some are nice and tasteful, but I find them to be to many and cast a shadow over the eclectic idea of visitic a monastery.

The scene with the judgement with heaven, hell, apostles, demons, holy ghost is as impressive as the Voronet blue colour. Despite paying, no toilet visible and also bad works with inestethic covers affect the experience.

One of the eight painted churches part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. It is worth visiting, especially that all the 8 monasteries are in the same region of Romania

Unique place in Bucovina, an UNESCO heritage site. Known as the "Sistine Chapel of the East", the frescoes at Voroneț feature an intense shade of blue known in Romania as "Voroneț blue." Highly recommended.

It was a dream when I was a child. Now is a nightmare. A place that is deprecating nobody taking care of. Paying a price for entrence you will expect the money goes to the care of it but from how it looks like the money end up in deep pockets. In the near future the paintings will fade and disappear. Kind of dissapointing considering that it was a pearl in the world of monasteries.

An alley with all kind of traditional things to sell leads finally to the beautiful Monastery of Voronet. I hope that they would have enough money to restore this treasure.

it's one of those places you need to visit - world renowned shade 'blue of voronet', now it is faided on the exterior of the monastery, but i would definitely pay a visit if you are in the area. inside is renovated, with before and after pictures - entrance was about 2 usd/adult, the visit doesn't take long, but you will remember it :). i recommend it!

A very peacefull place were you can find silence and a splendid garden with a monumental church where the blue colour is dominating the landscape.

It's a nice cathedral for those who are into this. For me instead wasn't that spectacular because i was expecting something more.

It's a good place to camp and start sightseeing. The food is ok, and the courtyard is closed, so if children are playing around, you can be sure they are not going anywhere else. However, the rooms need a little updating, as the furniture is clearly outdated and it has to be aligned with the higher price of the room. The TV is small and old also, and so is the air conditioner.
