**
PROS
**:
Ambiance,
hospitality,
hygiene
and
service
**
CONS
**:
Underwhelming
portions;
PRICING
+
value
for
money,
food
that
does
NOT
even
match
the
description/
name
(e.g.
'Bomba
de
Patatas'
/
the
'Moussaka'
dishes)
Eating
in
Trinidad,
Trinidad
foodies
&
foreign
guests
will
often
find
something
lacking
when
it
comes
to
the
holistic
food
experience;
there
is
always
something
MORE
that
could
be
desired.
Either
it's
the
taste
of
the
food
itself,
or
presentation,
hygiene,
service,
the
pricing,
or
just
plainly,
the
value
for
your
money.
LET
ME
WARN
POTENTIAL
RESTUARANT
GOERS-
Green
Jacket
left
me
feeling
cheated
of
my
money.
While
I
enjoyed
the
ambiance
&
hospitality
(which
you
pay
for
in
every
restaurant
in
Trinidad
10%
service
charge),
you
will
spend
a
fair
sum
of
money
and
wonder
WHAT
you
ordered.
Please
don't
use
the
excuse
of
a
"high-class,
fancy
dining
experience"
to
serve
underwhelming
portions
&
food
that
does
NOT
even
match
the
description/
name.
We
think
in
Trinidad
that
driving
up
pricing
in
an
establishment
will
keep
the
riff-raff
out,
but,
Dear
God,
all
you
keep
out
is
repeat
discerning
customers,
who
will
in
turn,
share
the
word
about
your
establishment.
Value
for
money,
and
not
even
that,
let's
say
PRICING
consideration
for
the
dishes
served
was
SKEWED.
On
top
of
that,
the
food
was
completely
misleading
in
terms
of
their
titles.
What
looked
like
a
scoop
of
stewed
vegetables
with
a
yellow
sauce
doused
on
top
was
supposed
to
be
the
Greek
vegetable
pie
Moussaka
(see
2nd
pic
for
ref).
That
was
a
COMPLETE
&
UTTER
disappointment
for
me.
Living
in
Greece
&
the
Levant,
I
KNOW
WHAT
is
Moussaka.
Re-consider
naming
it
'Moussaka-inspired'.
For
$375
for
my
Christmas
menu
+
10%
service
charge,
it
was
'le
rip-off',
mon
cher
(Hope
I
said
it
'fancily
enough'.)
Your
'BOMBA
de
patatas'
(Lit
-
Potato
Bomb;
see
1st
picture
for
ref.)
had
me
looking
at
my
plate
in
shock....someone
creamed
the
smallest
baby
potato
you
could
find,
added
some
garnishing
and
called
it
a
BOMBA.
Honey,
please.
Look
up
what
the
word
means
in
Spanish,
and
you
will
realize
it's
not
a
BOMBA
but
a
huevecito
I
got.
Also
your
prettily-made
up
Christmas
menu
does
not
even
have
pastelles
or
any
local
fare
(though
parang
is
played
in
the
restuarant).
Stick
to
some
Buddha-bar
chillout
tracks
as
this
makes
more
sense
for
the
Green
Jacket's
aesthetics.
The
fried
calamari
that
my
brother
ordered
looked
like
they
killed
the
smallest
baby-rat-octopus,
fried
it
&
served
it.
I
will
give
them
95%
for
presentation
but
the
fare
itself
is
not
the
best
in
quality,
cut
or
value.
Maybe
I
was
simply
not
the
right
customer
for
this
place.
If
you
want
a
chill,
aesthetically
pleasing
place
to
have
a
cocktail
or
two
and
an
appetizer
that
will
cost
you
roughly
$250
-
$350
TTD
per
person,
sure,
Green
Jacket
is
a
WONDERFUL
place.
Or
discreet
business
rendez-vous
tucked
away
in
a
classy
oasis
with
art-nouveau
feel,
and
lite-dining,
ok,
perfecto!
But
don't
bother
IF
you're
a
family/
date
couple,
etc.
looking
to
go
out,
eat
and
get
value
for
your
money
in
a
lovely
ambiance
OR
a
dedicated,
discerning
foodie
who
has
world-class
dining
experience.
You'll
be
severely
disappointed
and
leave
feeling
cheated,
like
I
did.
