Really nice place. Great & good value buffet Friday and Saturday night. Owner and staff friendly with lots of detail to attention.

J'ai récemment dîné au restaurant 'Hippocampe ' et j'ai été absolument ravi de mon expérience. L'ambiance était chaleureuse et accueillante, parfaite pour une soirée entre amis. Le personnel était attentif et sympathique, ce qui a rendu notre repas encore plus agréable. En ce qui concerne la nourriture, chaque plat que nous avons commandé était un vrai délice ! Les ingrédients étaient frais et de qualité, et les saveurs parfaitement équilibrées. Mention spéciale pour le dessert, qui était tout simplement exquis. Je recommande vivement 'Hippocampe ' à tous ceux qui cherchent un bon repas dans un cadre convivial.

On Friday they have a buffet that's real good and pretty cheap. Lots of beef and chicken on a big grill, also vegetables and pasta too. Food seemed Lebanese/Egyptian inspired

Hippocamp Restaurant is a must-visit for grilled meat lovers! The meat is perfectly cooked, juicy, flavorful, and tender. The seasoning is just right, and the smoky aroma makes every bite irresistible. The buffet is amazing, especially on Fridays, offering a great variety of delicious options. Great ambiance and friendly service complete the experience.

I'm rating this, assuming it's the same Spanish restaurant I visited in Kinshasa... fingers and toes crossed 😁 So, good ambience. Really good customer service. You might want to go to the restaurant early as they close at 10 PM... so yep. I didn't like the cheese balls because blue cheese=bleh?! Overall, fairly priced for some good sangria and live personal cooking when you order meat 😉 they don't mind changing the volcanic stones either!

Personally, you can’t go wrong if you spend your Friday evening at Hippocampe! They have the best buffet (value for money) in Brazza. It is well lit, good service and the most important value of any restaurant- serve the best food.

Cuisine sans plus. Service entreprenant : n’y allez pas moins de deux heures avant l’heure prévue de fermeture. Vous sentirez qu’on souhaite que vous vous en alliez…Dommage, les avis étaient plutôt élogieux…

I loved this place. My ratings for Congo are considering the atmosphere these restaurants are competing in. I would not give it 5 stars if this was located in Paris or anything like that, but for this area, I think it's a solid choice and the cats help keep the food fresher than other places I assume. The food and pho are legit.

We had a very enjoyable lunch. It was quite relaxed with quality service.

I went there for Friday for its buffet. The meal was good especially the braiied chicken. The beef was a bit too hard and for the sausage i recommend finding a whole other brand. The noodles were great as was the rice and vegetable salad. The salads were not great. The drinks were fantastic and the service was really good. Their staff made you feel important. They were also very accommodating. The music was great and the atmosphere was great. My two recommendations are that you fix the step near the main car park heading to the path my sister fell asleep it was uneven. That's concerning. The other is that of the mosquitos,there were a lot. They literally were hovering. I was visiting so I had extra mosquito repellent.

The manager of the Hippocampe has recently changed and the owner, Olivier, is committed to restoring the friendly service and great food that they are known for, while lowering prices as well. Their Asian cuisine is amazing, as it should be with the Vietnamese heritage of the owners. The nem bum is really delicious. The restaurant has also recently been remodeled and the covered outdoor seating (with ceiling fans, but we usually put bug spray on our ankles beforehand!) is spacious and airy and beautiful, with bamboo “walls” and white lights. The establishment also has a hotel that is recommended. The environs are clean and well-maintained with clean, running well-water. The Hippocampe is also a very popular spot for adventurer travelers, and it’s common to see outfitted Land Cruisers or Land Rovers or even cross-country motorcycles parked as the intrepid travelers take a break or wait for visas on their cross-continental voyage! So it’s likely you could hear some amazing stories and have good conversation if you’re the curious or social type! We live in the “bush” of Congo, and the Hippocampe has been a favorite spot to eat when we visit the capital, for 20 years! I highly recommend this restaurant!

Very nice place and reasonably priced compared to other restaurants in Brazzaville. They serve both western and African food with Asian features. I loved the Bo Bun. It was simple, fresh, and yet very tasty.
