We must have passed this so many times on the way to Skye, and didn't know what the place was. Wish we'd spotted it earlier, especially as we're always on the look out for Otters. Should have come here first !! - we saw one within half an hour of taking a walk along the track along the West shoreline facing the Skye Bridge (brief video posted in "Photos"). Bring your binoculars if you've got some !! Certain tracks are out of use around the coastal resting areas to protect the Otters from being disturbed. Polite notices are up in these spots, asking visitors not to venture further, but to take the alternative routes indicated. There's plenty of places to have a look out for them around The Plock however - the paths lead all the way round to Fisherman's Bay on the North East side where the Otters venture to as well. Don't miss the second car park at the top of the hill through the gate-barrier, which prevents Otters from wandering onto the main road - not locked, but make sure it's closed after you. There are a couple of Electric Vehicle Charge Points at the bottom car park. From up the top there are marked paths all around, and another track continues just further on to the small car park by the Viewpoint overlooking the Skye Bridge and beyond. Beautiful views πŸ‘πŸ‘Œ Although it's a free to visit place, there are voluntary donation boxes in the parking areas - well worth a few quid donation.

Beautiful place, nice to camp and just a 10-15 minute walk from the station and village center. Can be alot of midges in the evening and morning during the summer

After spending most of the day at the Eilean Donan Castle we felt a bit like walking and looked for some trails on the way back to the Isle of Skye. Found this Parkland here on Google Maps and stopped by. And what a wonderful suprise that was. You can access it from the A87, just before crossing to the Isle of Skye. There's a gate to keep the wildlife in, but you can open (and please also close) it yourself. Don't be fooled if you see the closed gates, you still can go in. It's a very short drive to one of the two public and free parking lots. We chose the more quiet one to the west. Only one other car on that late afternoon. From here you can choose several nice trails - some easier to spot and some are harder to see. Leading to the west and towards the water. Did that trail for a bit and then turned back, got a bit too muddy and wet. But nice and quiet. Lovely landscape. And not a soul in sight. The walked up to the viewpoint. A good numbers of picnic tables and BBQ grills. Some couples and families were here, enjoying the view and cooking some dinner on the BBQ. But still plenty of space left. Then we did two more trails, one to the northern end of the Parkland and one leading closer to town in the east. Really lovely walks - some trails are narrow though. Be prepared if you wear shorts - you'll end up with some (painless) scratches. Our Bulldog had fun as well. All the trails are pretty easy to walk on. The whole area pretty flat. A really nice suprise this parkland here. And the views from top are wonderful. Still suprising that only so little visitors seem to come here. It's great for walks, picnics. Families and dog-walkers. A great spot!

Nice area for easy walks with the chance of seeing some otters or other local wildlife. Head up to the flagpole for good views of Skye and the bridge. Car charging points and disabled parking at the small car park.

Stunning scenery from just before the Skye bridge on the right, car parking at the forestry office through the back gate to the two elevated car parks and view point.
