We decided to give it a try as we were passing through St. Louis. There are multiple locations, but we went to the one on Olive Blvd. Had the look of a fun place when we walked in the door with lots of signage and things displayed + on the walls. We checked out the large menu board they had and placed our order. My wife and I split the 3 meat platter that included 2 sides. We got the Turkey, Brisket, & Sausage + Mac n Cheese & Brisket Chowder. Everything was very good. The Brisket was excellent and had nice bark. Sausage was quite tasty as well. I'm not a big chowder fan, but there's was very good. Service was good and everyone there was nice. I spoke to Corey and told him we cater + compete at BBQ comps and passed on how much we enjoyed everything. I was curious about their Smokers and he was kind enough to meet me around back and give me the BBQ tour which I appreciated. I highly recommend making this a lunch stop when in St. Louis - you won't be disappointed!

Ribs were awesome had a little chew! Good smoke but not over the top. Same with Brisket, Turkey and Sausage. Pulled Pork was a little dry but with the sauces was good.

Sugarfire was great! Was greeted immediately, asked if I was a first timer, and showed me how to order. Got the two meat plate, brisket and pork were excellent. Fried green beans and cornbread were great. Little over $20, which seemed reasonable for good BBQ!

I has the sample platter with all the meats. The ribs were OK. But the brisket was amazing. I would definitely go back and get a plate of the brisket with the polish potato salad. The potato salad was delicious and different from any one I have had. I also tried all the sauces and the white sauce was by far my favorite. It was a horseradish sauce probably one of my top 5 sauces of all time.

We came while on vacation and liked it. The meat is well cooked and tender but is a bit under seasoned which I get it is because they give you tons of sauces to eat it with. But if you want to eat your BBQ without sauce it is under seasoned. But if you are a sauce lover it is great. We also had the Mississippi pie which was soooo yummy! We had the three meat plate and two adults and a toddler ate it with left overs.

Casual hip retro atmosphere. Great ribs and brisket is what we had. Loved the fries and potato salad. Original local colas. Great choice of bbq sauces. We tried them all. Honey Badger was the first choice in our favorites discussion. Local favorite! Staff friendly personal and very helpful.

The quintessential meat place. I had the meat daddy and could not have finished the order if I had tried to. Every little bit of food I had was devoured like the beautiful taste of barbecue had never touched my tongue before. I only tried two sauce sauces, the st Louis sweet and the coffee bbq. They were both phenomenal. No regrets, if I lived here I would be a regular.

Had the pleasure to visit St. Louis for the first time. Great city to check out and can't forget about the food. While in town, I had to try some of their famous barbeque. Sugarfire Smoke House was beyond my expectations. I got their meat daddy plate, which included their famous smoked ribs, pulled pork, turkey, and beef brisket Their sides were amazing with the cheesey hashbrowns and cheddar soup. One of the best meals I ever had, and maybe the best barbeque I have ever tried. Definitely a must to try whenever in the St. Louis area. Plenty of parking in their lot and has indoor and outdoor seating at this location.

Stopped off at Sugar Fire for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The BBQ ribs did not disappoint. A half rack was plenty for my husband.I tried the coffee BBQ sauce and it was outstanding! I’m pretty sure I could just eat it with a spoon! I also tried their “Texas hot sauce, which is typically style I LOVE...this one, however, basically tasted like normal tomato ketchup sauce. Overall, it was a good dining experience. They have outdoor seating which was ample but lacked any real ambiance (the restaurant is in a strip mall). And, the outdoor chairs were wilding uncomfortable (this is a frequent complaint in my reviews)...the chairs are meant to be outdoor lounge seating not outdoor dining chairs - they lean too far back and the height is not conducive to short diners (like myself). The only complaint I have is food was not served hot.

Definitely a 5 star expirence for me. This place was recommended to a coworker and myself and the food was delicious. My burger was made to order and brought out to my table no problems. Even though there was a crowd when we went, the service was still fast and plenty of seating was available. Wishing my mother was alive to taste the food here.. she loved barbeque!!

Fantastic Brisket! The ribs were a little dry and chewy preventing a 5 yet a very good showing for Sugarfire Smoke House. The restaurant was very clean, and provided an option to try all the sauces which I appreciated. The corn bread and Ham casserole were good. The Potato salad was OK.

I really like the authenticity of this place. The smoked turkey and smoked sausages are delicious. They switch up their side dishes which I think is unique, today's sides were a squash and zucchini casserole 4/5, broccoli rice 4/5 and a corn and brisket chowder 5/5. I would highly recommend this place I'm always full when we leave!

Heard really good things about this place but naturally the day I can go they are out of ribs and out of brisket? Ended up getting the pulled pork and it was decent. Priced a little high and I was really disappointed about the selection. They had a great bbq sauce selection and authentic Coca Cola options to chose from.

I usually get one of their salads (which are delicious) but opted for The Carolina today. My husband got The New B.O.S.S. In Town daily special. We went around 1 pm on a Friday and it wasn't busy at all. Beautiful day to sit outside too!

I was a little put off by their attitude. With so many resturaunt, struggling you'd think courtesy would be high on thier list. Food wasn't as tasty as in the past.

Ordered the meat daddy and parts of the meat were dry, tough and/or over cooked! I tried to make the best of it and I just couldn’t get through the tray. Couldn’t get through any of my sides. The brisket and pulled pork had less moisture and tenderness than Turkey which is traditionally the driest meat. The food network hype seems to be just that, hype! I got a pecan pie to go but it had the worse taste. I would not recommend this place to no one

Poor service with miss communication. Manager was in rush and didn't listen to my concerns re putting both orders in same box for us to eat from. Food wasn't that great and overpriced w/small serving. Didn't get a receipt either. Will not be back.

Great place to get BBQ outside of downtown where it’s also not crowded! Felt really good to be able to walk straight in and order. It wasn’t for lack of people, just very good flow at the service level. Ribs were great, a nice crisp on the outside with good fat and juice in the middle. Highly recommend the Mac and cheese, I should’ve doubled up. Corn bread was 5/10, rather dry. Love the options for sauces as well. Overall great visit and recommended for sure if you have time for good St. Louis bbq.

69/100: We visited Sugarfire Smoke House last week. The space is quite ample, though the cleanliness could use some improvement. The food was good and of standard quality, with prices that were okay. I particularly enjoyed the brisket with kale salad and the mac and cheese, and would fully recommend these dishes. While not exceptional, they were definitely tasty and satisfying. Overall, if you're looking for a casual dining spot with decent food and prices, Sugarfire Smoke House is worth a visit.

Ribs are made elsewhere, wrapped and shipped in. They seem to push the sauce for the ribs. If you have good smoked ribs, that should stand on it’s own. So psyched to try some local BBQ but honestly, my ribs are better and way cheaper.

Stopped in here tonight; and happy I did. Had the special, with a side of coleslaw and fried artichoke. Really good. The flavors on the sandwich complement each other very well; and the brioche bun really amplifies it. Definitely would eat here again. #fatguyendorsed

We had such good service here! Everyone was soo great! The food was AMAZING! We were in St. Louis for.2.days and enjoyed this place 2x! The big muddy wad sloppy and tasty. The Carolina was.just right! Mac and cheese, cheesy hashbrowns, pesto cauliflower and Dijon mustard broccoli salad was on point! No sides are the same! I highly recommend trying this place out!

Visit to the St. Louis area for 24 hours, after checking out reviews in advance I decided on a meal at Sugarfire Smokehouse. I ordered the pulled pork plate, it came with two sides in a fountain drink. I ordered cornbread and coleslaw for my sides. The pulled pork was so tender and juicy and divine. It was fabulous. The cornbread was very good. It was a generous slice and not too sweet. It was perfect. The coleslaw was fair. It was a little on the sour side. All in all I definitely will be back next trip to St. Louis.

Recommended bbq spot from a waitress from another St. Louis restaurant so, we decided to give it a try. The ordering process was a little confusing. Menu on the wall before stepping in to order your food and sides from a cafeteria style line. Tried to take my time to figure it out and still ended up with the deer in headlights look when we made our way to order. We ended up ordering a pulled pork sandwiches, the ribs and some side items. The meat was tender. There were various sauces that are in dispensers for you to try with your barbecue. The pork and beans were tasty. The flies that people let in were a little annoying and they buzzed around trying to get a sample of food. Certainly reminds you of having a real bbq outdoors. They did have cool soda options. Parking was available. We can now say that we tried some St. Louis BBQ passing through.

Entrance/ordering process is somewhat confusing. I walked through *apparently* the wrong door and got to the call-in order line and not over on the walk-in line. Walked over to the standard waiting line, which moved quick. Wall menu has a lot of "market price" and the cafeteria style ordering line has lots of hanging paper signs with prices, just a bit if a stimulus overload when ordering what should be simple BBQ. Ordered a 4-bone of ribs, got a bonus 5th bone 😊 got fried artichokes, which were unique and the dip was tasty. Picked the white bbq sauce as I've had it elsewhere that wasn't horseradish based and liked it, but this is horseradish based, so not for me. Standard bbq sauce was good, a necessity on the pretty dry ribs. Somewhat sticky, so they've been mopped at some point in their smoking process but the meat was pretty dry and pulled from the bone completely, easily. A decent meal, but will continue to try other STL BBQ options

Nice place with fast service. We were surprised that the food didn't come on a plate, but it worked! The brisket and vegetables were delicious. Also enjoyed the Cole slaw.

  • 5/5 Latina T. 3 years ago on Google
I wish I could give them 10 stars. They were out of brisket but I didn't mind because I knew whatever I ordered would be tasty and delicious. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and delicious to the bone. Every savory, smoky bite was a treat. I also ordered the turkey breast and it did not disappoint. For something new, try the limited time only sides, every purchase of these helps local businesses in the community. Great food from great people that care.

Brisket sandwich was cold, supposed to have no horseradish but did, sloppy, slim on the meat, ran out of menu item, average at best and definitely sub par for the money. Jambalaya was good. Wouldn’t try it again

Delicious!!! I had a pulled pork sandwich with the stl bbq sauce. I had it yesterday but I’ve been thinking about it all day today. Probably the best pulled pork I’ve ever had. The bun was good too. I know that sounds funny but sometimes the bread is just a throwaway item. This whole experience was great! Customer service was great too as I chose curbside pickup

Great food, great quality, great environment! Everything was amazing. I ordered the cobb salad which has chopped brisket on top and the brisket was awesome 👌🏽 I also ordered the smoked fried Artichokes and they were pleasantly surprising! They remind me of a fish stick or fish nugget. I will be back for sure! **I forgot to mention the lemon aoli is heavenly, absolutely perfect!

Glad to be back in my hometown visiting family. I asked for so good old fashioned bbq. My sister took us to Sugar fire. I loved that smokehouse smell as you entire the establishment, I ordered the full slab of ribs, the meat plate, hushpuppies. Our entire family loved everything we ordered. Some of the best that I've had. I live in the south, Sugarfire is definitely in the running with those guys. I will return, before I leave to head back home. GREAT FOOD! Very big portions and Great St.Louis Hospitality!!

  • 5/5 Jeff T. 3 years ago on Google
Ribs were tender and the sauce was great! The beans were delicious. Cole slaw was ok but I like my slaw very sweet.

  • 2/5 Charity H. 3 years ago on Google
Extremely fast service. Food was barely ok. Potato salad tasted like what you would get at a grocery deli... Overly sweet and very mushy. Nothing to see here. Cole slaw was a total pass. Do you like eating shredded raw cabbage that has been misted with the essence of absent mayonnaise? No? Please add some flavor here. The worst: The pulled pork was served in a soggy, dripping pile; liquid oozing onto the serving dish, no color or texture at all to the meat. No amount of the various creative sauces could revive it. Another member of the party got ribs, and they looked promising, but,as noted, several of the barbecue joint staples were drastically compromised. 'Scoop and serve' restaurants enjoy the ability to get foods on plates very quickly, but please don't compromise on flavor or texture. Nothing I ordered tasted good.

"Chips Don't Lie", HANDS DOWN, was the best combination I have had in a long time. I thought I had my order figured out until I stepped up to the counter, there I saw this ensemble laying open faced on the grill ready to be rolled inside a flour tortilla. I asked what was that? Was told it was the daily special. Colorful and very pleasing to the eye. Pulled rib in Honey Badger sauce, house made potato chips, romaine lettuce, provolone cheese, roasted poblano peppers and red onions. Pure deliciousness! I can't even describe this in words. I took it up a notch and added a little coffee bbq sauce, O-H-M-Y-GOOD-NESS!!! A-MAZING! Instant love. SUGARFIRE on Olive, you guys are the freaking BEST!!!

Great food but poor customer service. Our group travels often and eats at many places. We have continued to travel even during the pandemic and go out of our way to support local businesses and restaurants. This restaurant has a cool vibe and great first impression but complicated menu. While trying to translate the menu with our group we had employees from the food line 25-50 ft away yelling at us from the serving line through the guest in front of us ordering to “Pull up our mask!!” I understand the policy but also the approach. Everything is how you approach it. We were clearly trying to discuss the menu among our group of 13 with no one behind us. We blew it off and tried to continue with our order but then confronted again because our 17yr old daughter who has severe asthma had her mask under her nose. She expressed her medical condition to the 2nd employee behind the serving lines yelling at us and he just shrugged his shoulders as if he didn’t care. I would have left then if half of our group had not already ordered. First guy serving up the orders was very impatient with us while ordering and asking questions. I clearly reminded him It was our first time visiting. We checked out with a cheerful cashier who probably saved us from walking out. We ate our meal with no other issues. Food was a great taste, great fresh cut fries and large portions. Menu could be an easier build a plate concept. All in all 3stars and really should scored lower because experience is everything and everyone should really be kinder and considerate of their patrons since most are shutting their doors. Lastly this owner should visit Charlie Vergos' Rendezvous in Memphis, TN, fantastic food, simple menu and best hospitality I have had in a long time at any restaurant.
