A lovely nature reserve. We tackled the 7km walk/hike. It was easy, no high level of fitness required. The walk through the bush was great, then a descend towards the most beautiful beach. Be careful to turn towards the river when heading back as the route is not clearly marked on the beach side. Beautiful, clean, well kept and easy hike. We ended with going up to the view point. 2 hours well spent Overall a great experience for me and my family. We would do this again in a heartbeat.

De Mond nature reserve was a wonderful find. A lagoon surrounded by wooden walk ways and sandy paths. Even at it’s busiest, there were hardly any people there. Loads of hobby fishermen and bird watchers. A great place to take kids with shallow water and lots of places to explore.

Absolutely beautiful. A fantastic place to unwind. Hardly any cell phone signal, a beautiful beach, a lovely little cottage and just the sound of the ocean to accompany you.

Beautiful nature reserve, Well Done to Cape Nature, the reserve has 2 short hikes, a 7km hike, called Stern Trail, circular route and then there's one that takes you down to the Ocean, you'll come across a dead whale, there's a river for fishing, for swimming a picnic area with tables and chairs, boardwalk that leads to a Lookout point, stunning views, very peaceful, neat and clean ablution facilities, covid protocols are in place, no mask, no entry, sanitizing, signing in your family and getting your brochure, Had a wonderful day outdoors with the family

A really lovely little reserve where one can enjoy a picnic next to the Heuningnes Estuary at the lovely picnic site next to the entrance. One can enjoy short walks including the Sterna Trail and along the estuary to the beach or even a longer walk all the way to Arniston. Overall a great place to unwind and enjoy some birding and general tranquility. The dirt roads, however, are in quite poor condition but are doable in a sedan albeit drivers will need to take it slow.

This is what I call better than Hawaii. You can wild dolphins from the shore . Beautiful clear shores and safe water to swim on . They also have a dead whale πŸ˜…. You can see whales from the top view

De Mond Nature Reserve is a secret hide away just waiting for you to discover. We accidentally stumbled upon this beautiful nature reserve during a week’s day when all was very quiet. It was a quite windy but we still enjoyed our walk on the hang bridge across the river and all the way towards the river mouth with the boardwalk. We saw many water birds which are always a treat. Pack a picnic basket, park yourself under the shade of a big tree and enjoy nature to its fullest.

Great fishing area on the beach at De Mond. A lot of effort put into the walkway towards the beach. Have not visited for much other than fishing or a beach visit. Walk to the beach is a good bit of exercise as well.

Have been here 3 times now and it never disappoints. It's always empty so you have the whole place to yourself usually. Wonderful nature walks and great beaches . Also plenty of picnic spots .

This nature reserve is so beautiful! First you walk through beautifully green vegetation, then you arrive on donne dunes before arriving on the beach. There some people are fishing. Then have a swim in the lagoon before leaving. The water is lovely. Went there in January

Nice Nature Reserve for hikes, watching seals, beach walks and fishing. Beautiful colours in plants, flowers and sea weed. We saw a whale, drying out. Stranded in October 2021.

What better way to celebrate a birthday than in nature. Had a most relaxing day after the hike to the beach. Staff were very friendly and helpful on entry and guided us on where to go. Definitely planning a return visit soon.

Always a good visit, lovely walks along boardwalks and hiking paths along the estuary to the mouth of the Heuningnes River. Very well kept picnic area with tables and chairs under massive White Milkwood trees.

The estuary of the Heuningnes rivier is absolutely worth visiting. It is pristine,.the reception is personal and smiling, we met a person helping to pick up any litter, a group was birding. A couple was fishing, others again hiking the boardwalk and through the stunning white dunes, a family rested under the milkwoods. An excellent experience ..

Friendly and helpful Cape Nature staff. Beautiful board walks and well maintained amenities. Special place with excellent views and good fishing. I only saw anglers bait fishing for Cob and Grunter but next time I will bring my fly rod and flog the water a bit.
