An absolute gem of a place. Situated on the beach front of this sleepy coastal village. Quite upmarket. Very popular. People like to sit on the veranda to have meals and drinks with friends. Beautiful view of the ocean. Food was great. Service was friendly. Great place to have a romantic meal or to go with friends. Also offers accommodation with magnificent sea views. Has a secluded pool for the windy days. There is also a spa for massages, pedicures, sauna, facials etc. Breakfast is included and is a buffet with a large selection.

Thoroughly enjoyed our few days at the hotel. Great staff, great view and very peaceful. The only thing causing me not to give five stars is the definite need for maintenance both in the room and round the building. Other than that no comment complaints and will definitely be back.

Not going the extra mile, doing the bare minimum. Still waiting on our room service menu's, which weirdly, is not in the rooms. Also no airconditioner and the morning sun reflecting on the sea makes the rooms VERY hot. The view is fantastic. Also the spa stood out. But dont expect too much from anybody else. Service is slow and unfriendly. The rooms are in serious need of a makeoverm Breakfast staff so loud in kitchen it is hard to hold a conversation. Really confused where then 4 stars come from. Probably the prices.

Lovely place and service but the food is not great. Ordered hake and chips. The texture of my hake was like mashed potatoes. Dont even know it was actually fish on my plate.

Lovely old hotel, best location in Arniston. Beautiful pool. Top-notch spa with excellent therapists. Well-appointed, spacious rooms looking out onto the ocean. We saw whales several times. It is a family hotel, so know what you are in for. Don't miss the coastal walks, both to the famous cave Waenhuiskrans, and to the Arniston memorial. Just exquisite! But do wear shoes or slops. Also a walk through Kassiesbaai, right next to the hotel, is a must - great photo opportunities. We watched several world cup rugby matches in the really nice pub area on several big screens - the bar staff were fantastic. The only thing we were not delighted with was the food, which was disappointing for a 4* place. Breakfasts are very good with the usual fare and lots of fresh fruit, which I appreciate. The main and bistro menu sound great, but the food itself just was not. Our complaints however were well-handled. Will be back when there's a new chef in the kitchen! 😁

Out for a bit of lunch. We had something simple which didn't disappoint. The wine was good value so we had 2 bottles. I should think it would be a perfect place to stay.

This Hotel is from a bygone era, but still it stays hip and happening with great food, beer on tap, professional service and the BEST view in town. Well maintained and even in the off season visitors are popping in and out while we had a slow lunch - watching the whales playing in the bay right in front of us. A must visit when you are in Arniston or make a trip out of it and spend a night or two.

Room for Improvement at Arniston Hotel I recently stayed at the Arniston Hotel and while the location is undeniably beautiful, I must admit that I was somewhat disappointed with certain aspects of my experience. Firstly, the food left much to be desired. Despite the hotel's prime seaside location, none of the seafood options were recommended or particularly impressive. This was a missed opportunity to showcase the fresh, local flavors of the region. Additionally, our burgers, while not bad, were just average. Given the potential for culinary excellence in a coastal setting, I was hoping for a more memorable dining experience. Furthermore, it's evident that the hotel could benefit from a serious upgrade. The ambiance and overall condition of the establishment could use some attention to match the natural beauty that surrounds it. In conclusion, while the Arniston Hotel has the potential to be a standout destination, there are areas that require improvement. With some enhancements in the food offerings and a refresh of the facilities, this place could truly shine.

We booked a deluxe luxury suite with an ocean view. The view is amazing and the ocean gives both a fresh breeze and lovely sounds from the waves. There is a beautiful beach nearby on the other side of the fishers' village which was almost unpopulated. We got excellent massages at the spa. They have a decent pool, although it was a little bit dirty. The restaurant made good food but was not at all acoustically pleasant. It gets very noisy, so you don't feel like spending a long evening there. Breakfast was mostly good although the chef oddly enough didn't know how to make scrambled eggs, so be advised and go with fried eggs or an omelette instead. A minor annoyance with the room is that the TV is mounted very high up on the wall, quite far away from the sofa and very far away from the bed. We did not find it usable and had to watch a movie on our laptop instead. Just be advised if the TV is important to you.

I had the best time here :) The breakfast was amazing!!! So much protein on offer: eggs, bacon, sausages, mince, even salmon! Tried the Mariner's Plate at the Bistro. I enjoyed the yellow curried fish, but I think some other items were an acquired taste. But glad I tried it!! Spent a luxurious few hours in the sauna and relaxation room during a rainy and windy day. I'm so grateful to Kyla, she was awesome!! The free wifi was good quality, and all the staff were super nice and helpful.

Staff was super friendly and helpful. Rooms were fantastic. Food is on point. Had a great time with the whole family. The hotel is also family friendly. They kept the kids busy with a playroom with plenty of activities whilst it rained outside. You can also use the hotels bicycle for the whole family to take a cycle through the town. Definitely recommend Arniston Hotel for an outing…

Always stopped for coffee around the fireplace which is great in winter. This time we went for Sunday lunch. Although a bit crowded, there was a short wait. We opted to sit in the back and had a good view of the pool. The food was fresh and generous. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Wow!!!!! Wow! There was a personalized welcome letter with my name on it on my desk in my room! There was brandy set out on a tray with glasses in my room! The bathroom is quite large with a separate large shower and large bathtub. The English breakfast was great. They have a full-service spa on site. Beach view or pool view. I did not want to leave. They give phenomenal customer service and made me feel like I was the only guest there.

Beautiful, well maintained & managed hotel right on the sea's edge, with amazing sea views. The staff are pleasant and very accommodating. The sea facing rooms (2nd floor) are luxurious and worth the little extra cost. Hearty breakfast is included, and the 2 restaurants offer great menus. This hotel copes amazingly well with load shedding... we didn't notice the outages at all. Highly recommended.

We attended a wedding sermen at the Arniston Spa Hotel. The parking space in front of the hotel was safe. The lawn was neatly trimmed and beautiful plants at the entrance made us feel at home. The friendly staff guided and directed us to the wedding venue. The entertainment area where the lunch was served was a bit small, but the furniture was spaced apart adequately. Light background music created a relaxing atmosphere for the guests. The food...the food or yes, I have to emphasize... The food was really nice...no

Lovely stay over for a weekend or midweek breakaway. Perfectly situated to explore the romantic little village. Slowly the time is approaching for the hotel get a decent revamp. The spa service and staff are excellent, professional and friendly. Do spoil yourself when you are there. The food in both restaurants are well prepared and is very tasty.

Location, rooms & staff are great. However, despite many complaints, the food is FAR from up to scratch!!!! I have personally talked to the GM to absolutely NO avail. The hotel has a captive audience & as a result they are getting away with murder! But they are murdering themselves

We visited the restaurant and had masala lamb curry and pork curry. The price is steep so you expect something delicious. The food was barely edible. It is as though the meat is cooked separately from the curry. The flavor was good but meat exceptionally tough and dry. Sadly not one of my old favourite anymore.

Enjoyed some wonderful relaxing days. The quiet setting and surrounds compliment the lovely experiance, with Spa and Sauna. Restaurant serves an excellent variety of food. Can only recommend.

Had a pleasant stay at Arniston Spa Hotel. The service was good, staff were friendly and the overall experience was good. Unfortunately the weather was not great but I can imaging it must be really stunning here when the sun is out. The hotel is clean and well kept. The parking area is a bit small we struggled to get parking but we managed. You are greeted at reception and given your brief on the hotels offerings. The booking includes breakfast buffet (which felt like a bit of a race so rather get there early), the food was tasty. I have to note that during load shedding the entire hotel still has power and we were happily able to still watch the important rugby match on Supersport in our room during load shedding. We ordered room service, the double cheese burger and a pizza. The burger was amazing and I believe the pizza was just as impressive. We booked a luxury sea facing room as well as a standard pool facing room. The sea facing room is definitely the way to go. Prices are very reasonable and it’s worth the view and large balcony. The rooms are spacious with nice big bathrooms. Everything you would expect to need in your room is provided, the also give you some wifi vouchers. There are steps up to the different floors as well as an elevator. There is a stunning pool with sun loungers which unfortunately weather did not permit. The beach is literally on your doorstep and is a family friendly beach, great for swimming. You will want to go and explore the nearby caves during low tide. It’s a short drive to the parking lot near the caves and from there about a 600m walk. Not a difficult trip at all. There are plenty of stunning beaches and the water is a clear blue. Bring your camera!

Perfect location, beautifully decorated rooms, super comfortable beds, friendly and efficient staff, excellent service... and the food was exceptional! The view is the cherry on top! Value for money like you wouldn't believe. We will definitely be back!

The sea facing rooms are great, with a very good view of the ocean. It is a very quiet town in August. If you into shopping this is not the rigt setting. You can take scenic day trips to surrounding towns

Exquisite location Beautiful room and bathroom Delicious breakfast choice and fantastic dining room. Dinner was superb. Pub snacks very pricey. R50 for a can of coke and 2 packets of Lays....

Was disappointed overall. I chose this hotel for my husband's 50th birthday, as I had been many years ago and it was wonderful. We booked a deluxe sea facing, garden room. We got a room on the ground floor, at the end, almost, in the parking lot. The room smelt of smoke, and had cigarettes in the ash tray outside. When I booked, there was no mention of a room in a parking lot as I would never have booked it. I asked to move upstairs. Initially I was told they were full, and then the manager, said we could move to the room directly above. Which was better. The room felt tired, pictures missing off the wall, some furniture old and scratched. The first morning I showered, then there was no water for my husband. I went to reception to find out what the problem was, they told me the municipality was working on the water, and it would be off from 9am to 3pm. When I asked why nobody told us, when we checked in, the evening before, the receptionist said, 'we put up signs'. The way we walked, to the restaurant and back, to our room there were no signs. Really think the management and staff could have put in a little more effort to inform guests. Certainly did not feel like a 4 star experience.

Arniston Hotel is a must, the rooms are very big, we had one on ground floor with small court yard. It’s literally a stone throw away from the sea. The local fishing club is right next door. It’s an amazing place to visit. There is a fabulous restaurant with a lovely outside area where you can enjoy rats and drinks. Or if it’s a bit cold or windy you can op for the inside option. There is a lovely thrift shop on the premises as well. Definitely worth a stop over.

Great breakfast. Meals were good, generous portions. I especially enjoyed the linefish, it was well prepared. Clean hotel. Had a facial & foot treatment at the Spa, very professional. The bartender makes awesome cocktails. Plumbing needs attention.
