We were expecting a 4 star (as advertised) guesthouse, however, we got a 3 star experience. We liked that their were someone to welcome us, showed us to our room and told us of the complimentary tea and coffee (which were at the end not complimentary after all) and the cash bar. The rooms were smaller as the photos on their advertising. There were a bloodstain on my cushion. The stairs are extremely steep. The bathroom are so small that you can hardly move when the door are closed. The tv are on an angle so it's not comfortable to watch when lying in bed or even sitting in the chair. Nice of them to have a 'we wish you a merry Christmas' sign in the breakfast area - in July! The communication they inniciated via WhatsApp after we left was not expected and of poor judgement. Our overall experience - not for us!

Fantastic tastefully furnished has everything including splashpool and indoor braai 5 minutes walk from good restaurants. Breakfast plentiful caters for all needs diets and tastes. Cannot recommend highly enough.if you struggle with stairs ask for a downstairs room.They have thought of and cover everything. Children's play area books to read games ...the lot.Well stocked mini bar ....safe all the bathroom amenities soap shampoo etc.Would rate higher than 5/5...

Breakfast was excellent, the best part of my stay

We stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed it very much. Room was beautiful and a lovely view and could even see the sea. The bathroom was perfect with a shower, toilet and washing bason. In the room is also a fridge and television. Could improve on tv channels like DSTV. The breakfast was included and was very nice. Staff very friendly and helpful. Csn recommend Mermaid Guest house. Walking distance to shops and beaches.

Very comfortable and clean rooms. Generous breakfast with multiple hot and cold options.

Though I had a pleasant stay I wasn’t too happy about the over cooked eggs and the extremely annoying shower head in room 6. But overall a very pleasant experience.

This guest house reminded me of a cute, quaint bed and breakfast that you would find on the Eastern Coast in the States. The owner was nice and always greeted us with a smile. The breakfast in the morning was an English Breakfast spread with hot items made to order. For some reason, this place had the best eggs. Our room was small but had a great view. We visited right at the end of the off season so it was a bit quiet. But close to the beach and walking distance to a restaurant or two.

The best Guest House we stayed in in a long time. Very clean and tidy. Friendly Staff. And the breakfast are huge with a delicious variety.

The best reception from Miemie. Very comfortable room. Amazing breakfast. Home from home and can be recommended without a doubt. Miemie went out of her way to inform us about the surrounds. We will be back
