👍 We camped and my sister had a cottage, the new owners are very friendly and helpful. They are obviously working very hard to improve the facilities. The campsite is just big enough for 5 caravans and the so called hard standing looked very unappealing. Be aware that it is a working farm and you will... We spent a week in a holiday cottage on the farm. Great location for exploring the Derbyshire Dales.

We camped and my sister had a cottage, the new owners are very friendly and helpful. They are obviously working very hard to improve the facilities. The campsite is just big enough for 5 caravans and the so called hard standing looked very unappealing. Be aware that it is a working farm and you will be able to hear vehicles and machinery day and night. That said it was lovely to see the horses and chickens every day. The facilities were very well maintained and very clean.

Huge place to stay with loads of bedrooms, bathrooms and space. It is among nature so be prepared for spiders and cow smells. No garden but upstairs offers plenty of space for family events. It can be noisy downstairs in the bedrooms listening to people clomp about upstairs. It's also well located for Alton Towers, Heights of Abraham and Manchester. It was also near the Y Not Music Festival.

Enjoyed my stay here with friends very much. Very clean, good facilities, good location, very quiet surroundings. We checked in Friday afternoon, most of the guests arrived later that evening. Stayed until Sunday when we checked out. All went very well, nice big sofa for everyone to relax. Comfy beds and nice bathroom areas. However, a couple of things spoilt my experience a little. Firstly, the sound deadening between first floor (living area) and ground floor (bedrooms) was practically none existent. Most of the group were couples, but 2 couples had kids, who needed to be in bed earlier. Even walking gently around the kitchen area, sounded like a herd of cattle moving around upstairs. Secondly, the check out time on Sunday morning was 10:00. which is fine in a hotel, because you can throw your stuff in a bag and leave. But if you've got to cater for a dozen hungover people and 3 kids and be cleaned and out of the door by 10:00. It can and did prove to be a real challenge. The guy who booked the place called to try and negotiate an extension, but to no avail. So we were out, in the rain at 10:05, sorting things into each others car boots. And I noticed that by 10:45 when we had all said our goodbyes, that the "cleaning team" was nowhere to be seen. I reckon a team of 3 people could have this place cleaned in a couple of hours. So I think that a midday check out would be entirely reasonable.

As the address states, this is a working farm. We stayed in the upper level of a converted barn. The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. As Cowdale is just a Hamlet there are no shops but Buxton is just a short drive away. Some lovely places to see including Buxton Opera house, Poole Cavern and Buxton Country Park. They are some nice walks down quiet country lanes too.

Staying at one of there cottages the loft. The property as a whole was sold the week before we arrived so there are a few issues with the property which we have discussed with the new owners and they have been taken into account, apart from the issues it has been warm and cosy and an enjoyable stay. The new owners are a very nice young couple and they are determined to put things right and I wish them all the best in their new venture, and if issues are resolved we will definitely be back.

Booked this site as Caravan & Motorhome Club members. We stayed in March 2023. The site itself is lovely. Unfortunately there was an issue with the electrics when we stayed as the site was getting the meters installed which meant that for one of the nights of our two night stay, there was no electric. In fairness to the owners, they did pre-warn us of this to give the option of booking elsewhere but we chose to stay there anyway. We did get a discounted rate due to the inconvenience so again, we cannot fault the owners at all, they were really friendly and helpful. There is a nice walk into Buxton from the site and Buxton is a lovely town with plenty shops and places to eat/drink. This is a CL site which had shower/toilet facilities which is a must for us with a rooftent and on the second night when the electrics were back on, the shower was lovely!

Wonderfully taken care of with a last minute booking. We parked a camper and one tent in a well tended area with horses in the neighbouring fields. Basic but clean and well functioning shower and WC on site.
