I've been wanting to come here for a long time and we turned up on a prayer on Thursday hoping they would squeeze us in and they very kindly did. The staff are all amazing and helpful. The cocktails were insanely good and the food was outstanding. I am always on the hunt for good authentic Mexican food and this delivers in spades. The atmosphere is lovely and I will be going back again and again.

I’m from the US and I’ve had my fair share of great Mexican, and I can confirm that this is the best Mexican food I’ve ever had in England. Prices are very reasonable given the quality and the portion sizes are bigger than some of the photos make it seem. Can’t wait to visit again soon!

After a long time of intending to visit, we finally managed to book a table at Chido Wey. Where to start? Every single thing in the restaurant was perfect. The decoration, the staff, the food, the atmosphere - everything. We enjoyed our food over traditional music and loved the variety of flavours exploding in our mouths. Everything was cooked to perfection, with authentic Mexican recipes. Lucyano welcomed us to the restaurant warmly and we shared a lovely conversation just before we left. We will definitely be visiting again soon to try out the entire menu! Must visit in Bristol!

A very nice Mexican restaurant in town with vibrant atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food and drinks. I was so full with this portion. Chicken tacos is good but my friend’s steak burrito is a real winner.

Great place to eat atmosphere is bubbly and cosy. Service is top notch and the food is to die for . You need to book in advance as gets very busy but don't be put off by that .. this is a little gem of a place to visit ,you will not be disappointed

Checked out this incredibly popular Mexican restaurant in Bristol, and it was truly worth the visit. Went for dinner around the Date of the Dead, and the vibe was spot on with all the cool decor and candles. Tacos were decent, though I'm more of a crispy tortilla fan. The standout dish was undoubtedly the pork shoulder quesadillas. The cheese and pork combo was mouthwatering, and that hummus dip on the side is also absolutely banging. Had the mezcal cocktail too – not as smoky as usual, but still a well-balanced drink. Overall, a fab dining experience.

The food was amazing, couldn't stop eating even when I was full. Very good Vegan and Gluten Free options!

Went for a taco night here and I was blown away! Their mushroom one was unreal and they had great vegan and meat options. Also a fabulous spicy margarita. Can’t wait to return for more cocktails and to try their other bites!

The food was ok, I've had better Mexican food....but the waitresses working here are so rude with no smiles. We didn't let that ruin our beautiful evening though. I travelled form London to have dinner with my friends who I haven't seen in so long - and that really lets the place down. Also, not a fan of the broken plates.

Loved visiting Chido Wey - staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was great. It’s a busy little restaurant, so would recommend booking before! Food was served in a generous portion, tasted excellent and was great value for money.

What a fantastic place! Really friendly service, delicious food and fab drinks! All very good value for money! Will definitely be back for more! Highly recommend the Elote!

Very tasty Mexican food, limited but solid and rotating menu. Lovely staff with a positive attitude. The cocktails are solid too!

Went here for lunch and overall I think its a good place in Bristol. Big portions - we ordered a burrito each and we couldn’t finish the other half. Would have been better to share one between two people. We chose the meaty ones and out of the two that we tried I found the pop pumpk to be better (the one with chicken). The other one had black pudding in smoked adobo which was overpowering everything else that was in there. It was good but too intense. The tacos on the table next to us looked incredible and I honestly regretted ordering burritos instead of tacos. Most probably I will return to try them out. I can’t give it a 5 star because I wasn’t impressed with all of it (cleanliness service ..) but the food was good and the prices were reasonable. Overall good Mexican and pretty central.

Vibrant colours everywhere very Mexican and great mural on the wall. Happy hour is also available. Tacos had fresh ingredients the blue corn tortillas were great and something you don’t usually see often. The corn was very messy and difficult to eat, authentic but not practical in a restaurant setting. I didn’t personally like the sauce from the Smokey paprika but many would enjoy it. Quesadillas were cheesy and served with a nice dip on the side. Crunchy tortilla chips with the tacos were good. Staff were friendly but service could have been more attentive as the restaurant wasn’t busy when we arrived. 🇲🇽

I keep coming back... The food is AMAZING. I highly recommend on the nachos, elote and plantain flower burrito 🤤 Great service, great margaritas. Love this place!

A mixed review! Had been excited to go for such a long time but the experience wasn't exactly as expected. We were asked to wait 5mins for our table to be ready which was absolutely fine by us but then when some of our friends were 10 or so mins late we were really made known about it!! Everyone really enjoyed the food 😊 but one of our waitresses was so sassy and rude.. She even eyerolled one of our friends when we called her back to ask for a water jug refill and were reminded we couldn't have starters cos we were late. Would go back for the food but would hope we wouldnt get the same waitress 🙄

Tacos and Burritos are excellent. I would say its all a bit pricy for what you're getting, but everything is now. Flavours were lovely and smoky for both thr pulled pork and Senor Bean vegetarian option. Service and atmosphere are both great.

Easily the best burrito I've ever had. I had the señor bean. The depth of flavour was unbelievable. Smokey, spicy, tomato, creamy, garlicky, the occasional hint of coriander. Spectacular. Came with a serving of tortilla chips with the deepest smokiest chipotle. Good addition to the burgeoning Old Market area, which these days is becoming almost like the Gloucester Road. Beautiful old buildings and indie shops. Chido Wey also has a great cocktail selection plus local and Mexican beers. Will definitely be back.

The food was great, but the portion sizes for a main are really small. Definitely factor in paying for two mains if you want to feel as though you've had more than a starter. Also, what's going on with the lighting? The most amount of lighting fixtures I've seen in a restaurant, none of them switched on and table only lit with a tealight. Couldn't actually see what we were eating.

The dishes here are both generous and delicious, satisfying my cravings for spice and citrus! The cocktails are dangerously good and goes down too well. I wish I had a better photo to show how big the burrito was and the sauces are a must!!!
