Unlike what professional complainers like some on here would try and have you believe (what a d**che!), this place is great and a perfect example of why we need to support our local shopfronts more. Friendly, knowledgeable staff (which is what you want in this market) who are also honest about prices, counterfeits (ie. None), and always happy to do a deal where needs be. Superb stock levels and some nice rarities to be had for the connoisseur/enthusiast. Most of my whole multi console rig and probably 60% of the games came from here (and it could be said that I have a problem; the collection is LARGE!) and I e never had to return anything through lack of performance. Long live Retro Retreat, one of the few reasons I have to still go physical-shopping. Keep up the good work!! 🤘💜🤘

A terrible place to visit. The staff are very unprofessional and rude! I would highly suggest you avoid this place at all costs. The prices are a joke and the service received was the worst I have ever experienced. I have also seen that lots of the true bad reviews are now not visible. Not sure why this is, but there was lots of them.. take my advice and give this place a very wide berth or pay the consequences! The owner was disgusting!!. You have all been warned... So your response was to comment on my other reviews. Shows how narrow minded you are!. I will report on positives if and when I find them. I am not the only one who shares my views about you, your staff and your store as a whole.. Lots of the very interesting negative reviews have been removed which I find quite odd.. Luckily for everyone I screenshot these before the removal and will adding them to my review. Good luck for the future, which to be honest will be short lived.. I actually saw your store asking for people to leave you positive reviews, I guess to hopefully push all the bad ones to the bottom. People are not stupid.. Interesting that you say about 40% of my reviews are negative, instead of saying that 60% are positive, I like the attempt at reverse psychology. Does not work with me I'm afraid.. Very good video game shop. Well worth a visit as it has a lot of retro stuff along with the modern stuff. Also located on a very good street. I strongly recommend.

Great selection of items, friendly staff which helped me out with my retro console in the past. Even came to my house to drop off a cable I needed. 10/10

The Store has quite alot of everything retro its got everything you could think of and im thankfully its been getting abit of a sort out as the display was quite messy before. Firendly staff and helpful staff but a Big shout out to Chloe the other day for delivering great service,great vibes👍

Really friendly staff and large selection of all types of gaming collectibles new and retro. I use this store at least once a week since it is my go to for pokemon cards!

Can’t put 0 stars, purchased from them online. Seemed fair prices for wii U games, but as I found out the reason for this is because they sell games with DIY printed art work and games that don’t play when you load them up! They only sent half my order and no update on the status of the order over a week later. Sales email is not working and having to resort to calling the the store were I was told they can’t access emails. For a company dealing in technology, your own business operations are retro! Don’t recommend, even if they are about 10% cheaper than CEX. What a shame, rely wanted to find a alternative to CEX for retro stuff. Update 21/11/2022: After seeing the shop owners comments, it is laughable how unprofessional you can be. Maybe when a customer feels the only way to show their frustration with your service is to post a scathing review, you should think how you could change things? My account of your service and products are true, unlike your own distorted recollection. To be fair I did get a refund from PayPal after serval phone calls and emails to them. Clearly both company’s have something in common with each other. Buyer beware!

We took a trip to King's Lynn from Norwich on Saturday, whilst walking around the town my son saw the retro retreat shop ,, what classics he has got in there ,,excellent, I got talking to the chap behind the counter ,,lol we were reminiscing about consoles , games etc ,, very knowledgeable chap ,, worth a visit if you interested in retro gaming etc , in there he had snes , Nintendo, xbox ,mega drive, game boy etc ,,, ps I will be playing virtual fighter 3third dreamcast ,,will be back soon 👍 thanks from gozzy

Bought a pre-owned xbox 360 wired pad from this place online, the image they use to sell is a white wired pad. Placed the order on the 19th (July 2023), had no updates or correspondence until I attempted to call them three times on the 24th, no answer. Contacted through facebook, generic reply, still no updates. Received pad in the post on the 27th (web purchase noted 2-3 day postage) and it was a black pad that was still sticky and dirty, presumably from the previous owners. I cba to send it back, they won't get another minute off me bar writing this review. Very poor, would not recommend.

Shocking service, My girlfriend bought some headphones and has been charged, there was no emails or confirmation regarding the headphones so I called and asked for a refund, I’ve called a total of 147 times now and have only got through 3 times, I would not recommend anyone use this store or their services, if a refund is granted this review will be removed but this is just ridiculous and unacceptable. These headphones were purchased with birthday money and I want it back.

The conversation being held by staff today whilst we were in the store was truly unbelievable and showed a total lack of respect for women and their customers. Discussing the level of discount you would give a girl based on the amount of clothes she was wearing or if she was Japanese was totally unacceptable and very unprofessional. We left when the term "P**s Flaps" was used and won't be back. Shameful!

Don’t bother especially if you’re a women I can only imagine you’ll be seen as an item. The disgusting misogynistic rhetoric the staff are very happy to spew around customers is shocking e.g: boasting about wanting to set discounts for female customers who come in nude, or for women of specific ethnic backgrounds.

Visited this shop for the first time today, due to a rare visit to my old hometown. I was in videogame heaven! It has a great atmosphere, being amongst other gaming enthusiasts, drooling over the nostalgia!

First time been in this store clean,tidy nice staff member,and help full. Will be visiting again very soon.

Brilliant service, sells very decent items and is honest and reliable can't recommend enough, go to this guy for any gaming needs gonna have some happy kids for Xmas would deal with again for sure.

Just thought I’d let you all know. I tried to spend my voucher today in The GamePad store (in King Lynn) which was I bought for me as gift before the shop was taken over by the current owners. There was no expiry date on the voucher, however they refused to accept it and told me to take it up the previous owner🤷‍♂️. This is Outrageous!!! Ive spent £100s in this shop in the past, but no more. I shall NOT be going back! The stock hasn’t changed in months, Prices went through the roof since the takeover and they clearly won’t honour vouchers that have previously been purchased here dispite the change of ownership. I advise anyone to avoid this shop like COVID-19!

The retro arcade is a great place to visit very friendly staff who are more than happy to help with any questions & queries, amazing range of products throughout the store always something new to see and Great prices, a place I'd highly recommend 🙂

Stumbled across the Facebook page. And found they had some really great NES games, boxed and in great condition. I ordered around 8 games in total. But when I realised I'd ordered one unboxed game by accident, it was no problem, the member of staff (after closing hours) was still messaging me and assured me it would be refunded and contacted me the next day with the other games I was looking for. Amd the boxed version of the unboxed game i had accidentally ordered, Added them to my order and refunded me the difference. The total price I paid was more than satisfactory. And my games arrived the next day. No messing around!! Can't recommend this place highly enough. Will definitely be shopping here again. And if I'm ever in Norfolk I'll be sure to visit. Thanks for your service guys. I'll be in contact again very soon!
