If i could give this place NO stars i would. I drove through here once because that's where the GPS directed me, and MAN was i terrified. I have never been so scared in a long long time. This entire place is filled with HUGE, super old abandoned creepy looking buildings with graffiti, broken windows, etc everywhere u look. Thank God i was driving during the day because there are absolutely no signs of lights there. No street lights or anything. If i was the only car there i sure as hell would hit 120mph to get the hell out of there FAST.

Pilgrim hospital was in its heyday the largest psychiatric hospital in the world. It had 15,000 patients, 4,000 staff, a church, police station, farm, fire house, power plant, post office and cemetery. It was in fact a self contained city. The old building is an amazing, impressive structure and a prime example of the architectural style of the time. These old public psychiatric hospitals were the largest buildings of their age and the massive scale is still impressive even by modern standards. IT IS A SHAME THAT MOST OF PILGRIM HAS BEEN ABANDONED AND ALLOWED TO DETERIORATE, BECAUSE IT IS A HISTORIC SITE! Hopefully the old buildings can be repurposed for future use, or at least the exterior should be preserved and interior rebuilt. Many of these hospitals have histories of over hundred years and it is worth seeing this historic old building. Hopefully it will not fall to the wrecking ball like so many other historical buildings. A very small portion of the original Pilgrim complex is still used as a hospital, I believe for drug rehabilitation.

This facility sucks. It's not safe. Staff doesn't look out for their patients welfare and wellbeing. A friend of mine was beaten up by another patient very badly. She suffered head and facial trauma. Not one staff helped her, or even stopped the person attacking her. She's afraid for her life. Where is the security. Obviously they have none. I'm ab attorney, and they're in for a big lawsuit. They've just met their worst nightmare. Please think twice before going or having a family member go there. I wouldn't recommend that place to a dog

There are SO many issues! The rooms: they don't offer internet and the rooms are very drafty. Getting staff to respond to any calls or requests was a nightmare. Staff finally show up hours later than we expected, and then we had a difficult time communicating with them, (there was more screaming and moaning than talking) and getting them to stay long enough to finish a discussion was impossible. They refused to appear in souvenir photos with my friends and I, even though they do for other guests. In-room refrigeration isn't available, but you can rent one of the 16 in the basement, for a small fee. I've been to worse places, but not too often! Everyone recommends the Tower, but we didn't find it hard to climb. Don't always believe the hype!

I felt extremely welcome with the service I received from the hotel. They have a beautiful environment and great recreational activities such as swimming and dining...all indoors! Perfect for a getaway when it is cold outside.

I was in the out patient Western Suffolk clinic for over ten years. (Jeopardy) Alex, what is a revolving door? Correct! As an out patient customer, (alway about the Benjamin Franklin bills)is it possible for a new patient to trust counciling when tossed on like a baton running in the race to reach the finish line which they can never accomplish emotionally because of trust and change? Listen, things happen and happens for any short of reason! In general, life whatsoever does not make sense logically to most. Lastly, I can blatantly say that Life itself is a mystery we all desire to figure out.

I'm actually watching "Let there be light" on Netflix and i wonder if this was the place where they filmed the documentation. If so, then it was formerly known as the Mason General Hospital for mentally exhausted soldiers of WW2. (God bless them!❀️) Could someone confirm that this was the old Mason General Hospital and location of "Let there be light"?

Very nice place, the residents are well cared for. Staff are responsible and respectful. It's very dark and scary at night and not well kept outside the facility, needs more light outside please!! the insides are cleaner than most hospitals and rehab centers. It's a nice place to send your family and friend having psychiatry issues.
