Pretty Cafe, that looks inviting from the outside. On the inside, the place looks fresh and clean. Staff and service is good 👍🏿. Their Mohitos were great, so we will be a regular customer.

Delicious food and very friendly service. Nice atmosphere with both an inside and outdoor space. Remember to book before visiting as it's super popular and gets booked out very easily! I ordered the sweet potato crusted local fish with jasmine rice on the side and it was great. The fish was fresh and sweet, and all the veggies were nicely seasoned too. Also ordered a fruit punch which was nice and sweet. Need to come back and try their brownie!

The first time we visited the island in 2019, we went to Salt Cafe twice, it was that good. Coming back to Barbados, we knew we had to go to Salt again. The food did not disappoint. We had the Truffle fries and Plantain Tostones to start. Both were delicious! My daughter doesn't like truffles, but since the truffle oil was in the mayo and not the fries, she was able to enjoy the parmesan fries as well. For mains, we got the Tuna Poke Bowl, the Lamb Shank and the Slow Roasted Pork Baos. The Tuna Poke Bowl was as good as I remembered it from 2019. The Lamb shank was tender and literally fell off the bone. The Baos....they made my 19 year old daughter cry, they were that good. She's been to restaurants by the likes of Gordon Ramsay, Morimoto and Nobu, but she said that after having the Baos, Salt Cafe is her favorite restaurant of all time. Oh and the drinks were delicious as well. The Rum Sour was very generous on the rum and very tasty, according to my husband. We got the Dulce de Leche Flan to go. Oh my God, that is by far one of the best desserts I have ever had. All in all, the food and drinks were delicious. We did feel that the service wasn't as great as it was the last times we'd been there. We kind of felt like we were rushed to eat and get out. The staff didn't seem like they were thrilled to be working that night. Still, my kid wants to go back one more time before we go home. Go for the food! It's wonderful! UPDATE: We came back two nights later upon request from my kid. There's nothing better than seeing your kid in their food induced happy place. This time I had the chicken wings with the sweet sesame sauce and we made room for dessert (the flan). Service was wonderful tonight and we really enjoyed our meal!

Once again visited twice on my latest visit to the island, really enjoyed the New York strip steak! Back on the island and visited Salt twice already . Always a good evenings dining here! Love the wings and bao buns I first discovered Salt last year when they had only been open for 6 months and was blown away by the flavours and attention to detail which goes into to every dish. Owners Lauren and Simon make the perfect team of head chef and front of house in this cozy restaurant. On my return last night to Salt I was happy to see my favourite dishes still on the menu and couldn't resist ordering them again. Asian chicken wings to start and a main of the lamb shank which both didn't disappoint and was delicious, my partner also went for wings but we added a portion on spicy salt fish fritters which was amazing, then her main was the catch if the day (barracuda) bao's which she described as out of this world! I can also recommend the crispy chicken main and pigs ears snack. This restaurant is definitely worth trying, there's a air con inside dining area and a outside seating area. but the wings are a must from the menu. Really established restaurant now with the locals and tourists so please make sure you book to avoid disappointment............ Back again for my second visit in a week! I can now recomend the New York strip ( requested served rare ) and the chicken with mac and cheese skillet 👍

Very nice small restaurant. The vibe is laid back and you can be seated in air conditioning or fresh air. It's a bit pricey but the serving sizes are good. Be sure to try the rum punch!

What a great find. The food here is just divine. Service was attentive but not overly so. I had the lamb and the meat just fell off the bone. It was beautifully soft but still a little moist. The Truffle fries were a last minute addition but boy did they work. My wife had the Mac n Cheese skillet with chicken and that was every bit as good as my meal. For dessert, I had the Dulce flan and my wife the Bao bun. Both were equally fantastic both in taste and texture. The flan was rich in flavour and was the perfect end to my meal. If you want good quality food then look no further. You may need to book as it does get busy in the evening.

Great place, wonderful service and amazing food for good value. In a market where all the food is priced similarly, the quality of the food really stands out here. Loved the sweetcorn saltfish cakes, wish I knew how to make them!

Very tasty Caribbean food with Mediterranean and Asian Fusion influence. The red snapper with coconut rice was delicious and the sorrel rum punch hit the spot. The calamari was only okay. Based on this experience I would recommend Salt Cafe to anyone looking for tasty food at a reasonable price on the south coast of Barbados.

The best food we ate in Barbados! We had the Spicy Fish Bao and the Mac n Cheese with Shrimp. The bao was warm and soft. The shrimp was delicious. And, the Mac n Cheese was super creamy!! If you are in Barbados, you must try the Salt Cafe!

This place is delicious! It was my friend's recommendation and it was so good that my husband and I made a reservation to return two days later to eat inside (rather than dining at a table outside). Everyone there is so hospitable and attentive, and the main courses are filling and worth every penny.

Really good food. Definitely recommend! I’m going to be completely honest, it’s a little on the smaller side, so I probably wouldn’t bring small active kids (I have two) that need to move around, I would come back with adults and really enjoy the relaxed vibe. It’s wonderful!

Almost lost hope of finding a decent non- fried dinner but then we found Salt. The fish options(fish bao and sweet potato encrusted fish) were delicious. Staff was nice even though we arrived 30 minutes before posted closing time. We will definitely be back for more during our stay

The food was very good with really large portions. The service however was not great. It is a lovely little cafe with lots of dishes to offer. We would definitely give it another go in the future.

This place….. is INCREDIBLE!!!! Would HIGHLY recommend! We spent 10 days in Barbados and came to Salt more than once. We ate at some of the islands “fancier restaurants,” but we can tell you that Salt far surpassed them in terms of the food and the service. Would hands down, recommend. You’ve got to try this place!

My team and I had a great lunch here. The drinks were so good and I enjoyed the food, that is the little I did eat. The service was right on time, the wait for our food wasn't long which is not common on this island. One member of the party actually told the waitress they didn't like their drink and they brought a new one she preferred. They even asked what was wrong with it so they could do it better. I had the sweet potato encrusted fish and it was delicious, I just didn't have much of an appetite that day. The fried pig ears was gross, I can't lie. I was expecting something more like fried pork rinds but it just tasted like eating fried fat. The calamari was good but I really wanted to try the cervice. Unfortunately I was outvoted by the team on the appetizers. There's always next time though and I would definitely go back. I also had a bit of the brownie. Yum!

Looked a lovely little place from the outside. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. The menu was different and more exciting than just burgers and fries. The food was very good and beautifully presented. We will be going back before our holiday is over.

Walked in on a Saturday evening, Very nice good quality food, a little pricy but I’d say worth it for a nice meal. We had creamy garlic chicken linguine and chicken bao buns, upgraded to the truffle fries, all full of flavour. 1 soft drink and 1 big bottle water. Came to about $125

It was my very first time dinning at SALT. It's lovely from the servers, food , ambience just the whole experience. The food was top notch can't fault anything. The wings...the salads, the chocolate Carmel brownie and ice cream and can't forget the fish cakes with corn. I'll definitely recommend it and I'll be back!

Nice atmosphere and decor. We visited last year and both food and service were amazing. The food this year was great but the service sadly was not there. Still worth a visit for the food alone but we waited an hour for entree, with very inattentive service (no refills, didn't check in, not the friendly service we experienced last time). Make a reservation. Hoping it was just an off night because this place is yum.

Usually plenty of seating, long opening hours and friendly staff. They accept cash and card payments. The food is always perfectly presented, but having tried three separate dishes over a number of weeks, I have never been overly impressed with the taste of the food, although in some respects this may be down to what I prefer. In the case of their Tuna Poké Bowl, I enjoyed this, but the combination of flavours were quite strange to me: the crushed peanuts and walnuts added a flavour that I didn't like. When I tried their Skillet Mac 'n' Cheese, I did not like how flavourless the cheese was. It's not that I prefer a strong cheese in a dish like this, but it just tasted like a mildly flavoured roux more than anything else. However, the brown butter crumb on top added excellent texture that really made it stand out. For the price of each dish, I expected more. I probably won't return to this café unless I am just ordering a hot drink. This is a difficult review for me to post, because I like this café a lot, but the food is not quite as good as I want it to be.

Salt Cafe has great food for great prices. The food is always consistently delicious. I love that they make the fresh homemade lemonade as well as the divinely delicious Salted caramel brownie.

Salt café offers an intimate dining experience, however beyond salads, falafels and cauliflower steaks the menu is not terribly diverse for vegans. Mind you, when I mentioned my dietary requirements the staff was keen on making suggestions of modifications; so even though (on paper/menu) the Café is limited for vegans I am confident that the chef would willingly cater to your particular dietary needs.

My wife and I had dinner at SALT on Saturday evening. First visit. The meal was excellent, well prepared and presented. We shared the calamari starter, lovely textures and wonderful dressing.
