We did the Mount Gay rum tasting tour with lunch. The tour was nice and informative I certainly learned a lot more distillery process. Our tour guide Zariah was friendly and very knowledgeable about the process. The buffet lunch was excellent and delicious we had the mashed breadfruit with the mango Glazed wings and curry rice.

We arrived late due to traffic but the staff was able to reschedule us so we didn't miss our tour. We had booked the basic tour and tasting, which costs about $25. We had a signature rum punch drink while we waited, and there was a kitchen serving delicious food. The tour starts with a small museum which details the history of Mount Gay and then there is a little movie to watch. That's followed by a tasting of four of their rums. The tour guide was very funny and entertaining. The rum was delicious. Afterwards you can hang out and order more cocktails or do some shopping in the gift shop. It takes about an hour and a half to complete the tour

Worth the money! We were greeted with a 8 oz glass of special planters punch while we waited for the tour. The guide was a standup comedian and the history was impressive. We tasted 4 rums from white to XO. Then we had a delicious lunch with a beef stew and fried calamari in sauce, rice and beans, Mac N cheese, potatoes, salad, and great chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert. In case you needed more rum, a small list of fruity rum drinks were available for $5 US. We really had a great time!

Really enjoyed our visit. This is not the actual distillery (that is further north) but we learned a lot from the video and from our excellent host. And of course we enjoyed tasting four different rums. The on site shop had lots of choice and did seem to be a bit cheaper than the airport duty free.

This tour gave us a wonderful explanation of the history of Barbados, the birth of the rum industry and a great appreciation for this great liquor. Can't wait to go back and tour the Mount Gay Distillery on the northern end of the island. This is a must see when you're visiting Barbados!

Fun yet informative tour. The rum tasting is the highlight. We had an office function there and their package also included lunch and ended with a cocktail making competition, which was a first for me (I'd done the standard tour before). A fantastic time for all, even for the non-drinkers in our group. Highly recommended.

Quality experience overall, we did the rum tasting, museum tour and finished it with lunch. Our guide was absolutely lovely and the tour was genuinely informative, it wasn’t boring like a lot of tours and the style of the exhibits kept things interesting. The rum tasting was fantastic too, really interactive and a good laugh. Lunch was surprisingly unreal, a buffet style meal with some of the bast Caribbean pasta i’ve ever had. Only down side is the price, a little expensive but worth the trip

This was a pleasant tour, but not at all as the tour itinerary would suggest. This is not the distillery, and as such there is no distillery tour. What you do get is a very knowledgeable lady telling you about the history, taste some samples and then a rum cocktail making session. There are other packages, but beware, this is most definitely not a distillery, that is in the North of the island and if that's what you want to see, make sure you book carefully.

This was not the expected outing when my hotel put on a visit to the mount gay distillery. It feels like a warehouse in the port district however it was better than my expectations. Welcome cocktail A brief history of the company How they make the rum and age it Tasting session (4 samples) Lunch + alcohol free drink The gift shop is also reasonably priced for taking home your favourite rum!

This is review of Distillery Tour at top of the island not the Visitor Centre in town which we found confusing before booking. Wonderful tour with an in depth insight into this working factory. Started with a rum punch on arrival. Romal our tour guide was knowledgeable and humorous which made for a fun tour. Interesting to see the focus on sustainability on site. The tour didn’t feel rushed and we enjoyed the tasting session at the end! Noteworthy point is that we could purchase some bottle items on site but the main shop is located at the visitor centre in Bridgetown, not at the Distillery. Also transportation to the Distillery was included from our accommodation.

Being met with a welcome drink was lovely. Got a lot of great initial info in the beautiful library. The tour was well-paced and Romal had great energy and knowledge about the distillery (and is quite funny). There was a great combination of history and modern functionality. What a fascinating process and how curious no recipes are written down, and that there is essentially an apprentice program at Mount Gay! Also the rum tasting itself was a treat! One guest called Romal a 'hero' for his ability to articulate our tasting experience before we tried the rums, plus the tips he gave us for when we drink moving forward. I would love to do the lunch tour and cocktail making tour ASAP.

Just to warn anyone that this is a visitor experience, not a tour of the distillery. We did the lunch tour and rum tasting experience was was well curated, entertainingly informative from our excellent tour guide with a buffet style lunch to end on. Overall a good fun, rum filled time but I would love to have seen more of the distillery process myself. That tour is on another part of the island and I'd recommend booking well in advance.

The weather was HOT on the day of our tour. I had neglected to mention the footware requirement to my wife and daughter, so they were not able to do the walking tour. BUT... Romal stayed with them at the great house, and provided then with a "virtual" tour that matched the walking tour I did - plus, they got to stay in the air conditioning. Romal just make their visit that much more special with that personal touch that is hard to accomplish while walking with a group of people. Romal and my family connected on a more personal level as they were all into Pokemon. Akeel (our walking tour guide) was very knowledgeable about all of the things we saw and talked about. Even though it was hot outside, he made the tour an enjoyable experience.

My rum tour experience was great, I went as part of a birthday celebration. Overall, an informative & fun experience however, The best part to me was the personal cocktail making session👍🏽. After the tour, dinner was also nice, would recommend the experience because it was value for money.

Our tour guide could have been a Rhianna stunt double, great knowledge of how Mt. Gay operates in respect to making the rum. Being from Louisville KY we had many questions in the process. We got a bottle of Ponche Kuba creme to take home as it's not available in the states. Great history, great cocktails included in tour as well. We went early on a weekday so small group and no wait

We went into the visitors' centre expecting an old still, some historical photos and a gift shop. There was all that but the tasting experience with such entertaining and knowledgeable guidance was quite a revelation. Rum, I thought, was pretty much just rum. However, being guided through the tasting if several different Mount Gay rums revealed a much more complex world to explore. Educational, tasty and good fun. Well worth a visit

The tour was amazing thanks to Tina. She was funny, dynamic and really clear in her speech. It was also nice to get cocktails from Adrian at the bar before and after the tour. After coming to Barbados for so many years, I now know all about that rum I've been enjoying drinking every time I come here. It was a really good experience ! I really recommend that signature rum tasting tour.

Though not a big rum fan, our tour driver talked us into visit. It started at the bar with a drink of their famous rum punch which was delicious, followed by a history of rum and sugar cane production on the island. Next is the tasting of different varieties of rum with no mixers (no surprise). Though It was a little longer than we would have liked, it was still worth the trip.

We visited the Mount Gay visitor centre as part of a day tour we did through St James Travel & Tours Barbados. The Bajen gentleman who gave us a talk on the history of Mount Gay very enthusiastic & definitely represented the company. After we had a very insightful experience tasting the various rums.

This was a lot of fun and our host (pictured) made it so. She gave us a tasting experience starting with Mount Gay Silver, followed by Eclipse, Black Barrel, and finishing with XO. I reckon we were in a group of 30 or so people who were fairly quiet to start with but very jovial at the end. Yes. Great fun!

Tina was an AMAZING tour guide from start to finish (including weeks before our arrival)! She was easy to communicate with via email and fast to respond. They were able to accommodate a private group tour for all our family - and even allowed us to add additional people just a few days beforehand. Transportation was available to and from the tour making it even easier to visit. It is clear that Tina is passionate about learning and sharing knowledge related to anything rum or Barbados. Every person in our party could not stop raving about how fun this experience was. We all will definitely recommend it to anyone we know traveling to Barbados!

I recently had the pleasure of embarking on this rum tour, and it was an experience I won't soon forget! From the moment we arrived, the friendly and knowledgeable staff made us feel welcome and excited about what was to come. The tour itself was fascinating, offering a unique blend of history, craftsmanship, and a genuine passion for rum-making. Each tasting was thoughtfully curated and provided a delightful exploration of flavours that catered both to rum aficionados and newcomers alike. What truly sets this tour apart is the engaging way the process is presented, with every question answered and no detail overlooked. Whether you're a rum enthusiast or just curious about this storied spirit, this tour offers an enriching experience that's as enjoyable as it is informative. Thank you for a memorable day filled with great insights, laughter, and delicious rum. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone looking to dive into the world of rum. Cheers! 🥃

We had a wonderful experience on this tour. Our tour guide was entertaining and funny. She kept things moving despite the rain pouring outside. She was informative and just all around pleasant. We learned a lot about rum, the making, bottling, and craftsmanship that goes into it. Loved it.

We booked a visit to the Mount Gay visitor centre, which included a delicious rum punch on arrival, a guided tour and rum tasting, followed by lunch. I can recommend this tour as it was all really well done - tasty rum, informative tour and tasting and an excellent lunch. Expensive but worth doing.

Tour and lunch; informative and entertaining thanks to our host Zoria, very enthusiastic and knowledgeable, especially when it came to research (tasting) 😉. Not forgetting the obligatory gift shop to exit, which was decent value compared to shops we compared.
