These are beautiful gardens! It was so relaxing and peaceful to walk around looking at all the beautiful plants. The water features and statues were lovely as well. My mom and I visited the gardens a few years ago while on vacation. I know both my mom and I would love to visit again. This was definitely one of the highlights of the trip.

Such a beautiful and enchanting garden! My husband and I visited during our honeymoon and would recommend this gem to anyone visiting Barbados. Aside from the gorgeous gardens, Anthony is such a pleasure to speak with and is very knowledgeable. We appreciate everything about this place!

Described as a top attraction of Barbados and its easy to see why. Well maintained paths, lots of areas to picnic and relax, the owner Anthony Hunte is often on hand to personally answer questions.

Was not prepared for the full beauty, peace and relaxation this garden gives. Serene music was played and because of the bowl shaped landscape filled the ear while the amazing variety of exotic plants surprised the eye at every step. Worth every penny and the delightful Mr Hunt welcomed and entertained on top of everything. Look forward to returning as often as possible

A really nice spot to go see while in Barbados. The gardens are lush and vibrant with some peaceful meditation music playing throughout. There are stairs to navigate you through the garden so if you have mobility issues this could be challenging. My 78 year old mother was able to walk through the park with plenty of railings and my arm when she needed it so it's not impossible. There is also a small gift shop where Mr Hunte himself has residence there and will greet you pleasantly. While there you can enjoy a drink of local spirits or cocktails. I would probably recommend taking a taxi there as it's a bit tricky to find and the roads going there can be challenging if you're not used to narrow winding roads and especially if you're not used to driving right hand drive cars. I highly recommend this place.

It's a real privilege to be able to visit this labour of love in the centre of Barbados. Simply stunning gardens with a huge array of wildlife and plants. Sit down at one of the many nooks and wait for the wildlife to buzz in. A rare treat to see hummingbirds in the natural environment. The owner Timothy is on hand and makes a mean run punch. Spending some time in his company makes the trip. 5 stars easily.

My first time visiting Hunte’s Gardens and I was extremely impressed! They are very mature gardens with well thought out spaces to relax and sit, and have a picnic even. The owner is approachable, friendly and very knowledgeable. I also like that you can purchase many local products there. A wide variety of items some that I haven’t come across readily in some places examples books on Barbados.

Just an amazing place to be. Not just because of the gardens which are superb, but also the hosting by the garden’s owner, Mr (Anthony) Hunte. It was a delight to speak with him and soak up the whole place. My favourite bench is the very last one overlooking the whole garden, very peaceful. Long way this place continue to be so superb.

Mystical, feels like your inside a book or story tale! The most beautiful garden I’ve ever had the luxury of visiting! The price we thought steep at first, but after completing our entire visit we thought it fair!

Ioved the ambient sound played through speakers throughout the non-guided tour. Peaceful, pleasant and relaxing with mother nature. Lots of places to sit, read or have a picnic.

What an experience! Extremely well kept, beautiful gardens, with a tropical feel. Anthony is an absolute gem, almost an extension of the gardens himself, rooted and well experienced. Ps. Don’t forget to try the rum punch

It's always a great pleasure to visit this amazing space. Meeting the owner and chatting over a rum punch is a good way to round the visit off too. The gardens are beautiful and tranquil. Take a walk around, take a picnic and/or take a book and just chill. This was our third visit over the years and it just gets better. Hope the photos do it some justice.

We visited Hunte’s Garden through St James Travel & Tours, during a inner island tour, called Natural Wonders. When first entering, you are met by stunning views of the garden. There are plenty of opportunities to take a seat, relax & take in the environment. Everywhere you look, there are many different plants, trees & wildlife. Once making your way through the garden, you will reach Mr Hunte’s house, remember to take some funds to purchase souvenirs, food & drink. I definitely recommend the marble & carrot cakes, very tasty indeed. If your lucky, Mr Hunte may chat with you, & tell you about the history of the gardens & Barbados itself.

Beautiful curated gardens, set on an old plantation in St Josephs. Owner Anthony is an enthusiastic and genial host, full of stories and tales of his island home. Highly recommended.

My Husband and I first visited in 2007 and again in 2012. On our visit in July 2023 the gardens are so spectacular, peaceful and calm. It's absolutely beautiful and well maintained.

😲 Absolutely amazing Botanical Garden. Fascinating history what one man has accomplished with a sink hole in the Tropical Paradise. This Is the most wonderful garden I have ever been too. And I have seen some of the Best. The Kew and Mo Botanical. Mr. HUNTE, age 81 is a treasure. Go to Barbados just to see this Garden and Mr. Hunte.

A must-do if you‘re on Barbados! The owner is such an incredibly humble person and it‘s just amazing to listen to his stories. The garden is its own paradise within the paradise of Barbados and you calm down immediately after you enter.

Absolutely amazing. Easily the best thing we saw in Barbados. Enchanting!! Anthony was charismatic, charming, interesting and very good looking even with your glasses on! (Private joke!). I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough!! I’d go back tomorrow!!

A beautiful lush oasis, with plenty of seats to sit and relax as you wander through the thick vegetation. Sit and watch humming birds and spot the giant millipedes and lizards as you wander around. After that sit and have a chat with the owner who is great for a story and a shot of Rum

I felt as though I was in another world wondering around the beautiful gardens with the sound of classical music in the back ground. Definitely a not to be missed experience. My only critique was of the rum punches which tasted as though there was no rum in them. Maybe an honest mistake.

$20US USD or $40 Barbados Dollars. 1-1.5hr is min but could be a 3hr visit if you sit in many peaceful sitting areas and/or visit Mr.Hunte’s gift shop, try his rum and relax on his porch chatting with Mr.Hunte himself. Pure work of love. It’s so green and lush, really good from swimming for those who need it. We got there on public buses from Speightstown. It’s an adventurous route but definitely possible. We visited Bathsheeba afterwords. Made for in incredible day.

Delightful garden, amazing flowers and a unique setting in a bowl. Many tall palms rise out of a beautifully designed garden and the effect is mesmering. Simply lovely.

This was a magical place. Anthony is running a great venue. We were there for 4 hours because we didn't want to leave. We went with a cute little picnic basket and ate our sandwiches in a eclectic covered salon with fans. Beautiful steppes are carved into the sinkhole and many private seating areas are nestled into the landscape. My favorite place to visit.

We visited Huntes Gardens yesterday and it was by far my favourite experience since being in Barbados. Make sure you get a refreshment and cake with Anthony (the owner).

Excellent: This is a great place to go where you can take your time sit and relax in several garden settings.. If I could I would return and stay longer to take in the beautiful plants flowers trees.

A truly beautiful place. Very well laid out with a tremendous variety of plants and colours. The ID Board is a really useful reference point. Take a picture of it on a 'smart phone' and use it for reference as you encounter the plants. WOW! Worth every one of those 5 stars.!

Spectacular garden Oasis in need of a few upgrades. This place is truly amazing. I loved the scale and ambiance of this place. The statues hidden among the plants were a nice touch together with the relaxing music. However, toilets were run down and so were some of the picnic areas. You are free to walk with your picnic if you wish but we thought the areas weren't food friendly enough for our liking so ate in the car. Mr Hunte is so remarkable and such a kind host and makes the experience memorable. Overall, I would recommend as a welcomed change of pace in Barbados if you had enough beach vibes and need a nice garden escape.

This place is absolutely stunning. This is a must see when you are in Barbados. Please take your time and enjoy this paradise! We’ve been here on a rainy day. The colors are mind blowing, impossible to describe with words and pictures don’t do justice. We had a chat with the mr. Antony the owner and he told us about the history of his family and this place. He told us the palm trees are about 120 years old. We’ve got to taste the rum as well. Don’t forget to say hallo to ms. Marble the cat

Initially sceptical and thought was expensive but all fears faded when got in. You walk down the steps and are transported to a magical chilled world with calming music, wonderful flowers and plants (and the odd needy cat). Once you've finished walking round you can go up and see the owner and have a chat with him (he likes to talk) and you can use a voucher given to you as you enter towards items in his little shop. Not suitable for people with limited mobility.

What a fabulously serene and beautifully maintained garden, full of exotic and colourful plants and trees, with soothing, calm music piped around the whole gardens. Lots of places to sit and soak up the beauty of this genuinely loved haven. So glad we made the effort to experience it.

Wonderful green oasis up in the hills. I took the local bus here, which was straightforward enough. The gardens are lovely, especially if you get a quiet moment away from noisy tours and tourists stomping through. It was in those moments that I saw the lizard and a humming bird, which was magical. It is not the cheapest attraction, but definitely one I'd recommend to anyone visiting Barbados. Take a breather in the flora & fauna paradise that is Hunte's Gardens!

This garden is simply unique. We had only 1 day in Barbados as part of our cruise, but this was a must see for us and it didn’t disappoint. Simply amazing. Pure magic
