Definitely a different vibe compared to the majority of properties in Barbados. The hotel is a former manor converted to a number of rooms each designed in a unique way. Rooms were spacious, with huge king size beds. The bathroom was clean and super spacious (took at least 10 steps to walk end to end!). The breakfast was delicious. The peacocks roaming were super friendly and if you are careful enough you might snap a few close ups with them. Pool is quite small with the ambience of a hidden jungle pond. Very soothing experience. There is a nice panorama of Bridgetown from the pool terrace. The manor is gated and has security. The surrounding area was quiet but a bit run down and slightly dodgy at night. Recommend taking a taxi back at night if you are out and about till late. 4 stars due to staff carrying out maintenance work (drilling and hammering) in the restaurant area during breakfast. We were also asked if we would be staying for dinner every night - don't assume they will be staying if you have not communicated this in advance!

Such an incredibly disappointing experience. We chose to stay here for our beachfront elopement expecting personal service and some lovely individual touches. Not only did we receive nothing remotely approaching this, services our friends and wedding planner tried to arrange for us (bubbles, the delivery of wedding cake for two) were actively not followed through by the hotel and not received. Not a single measly rose petal. I came home every day of our four night stay hoping for even a heart-shaped towel or balloon in our room - nothing of the sort. We eloped with no family or guests so expected a four-star boutique hotel to make this day really special for us, and I instead spent a good chunk of the morning crying and spent as much time away from here as possible during our stay. Other negatives: - No replacement of our toilet paper despite daily housekeeping visits so this ran out; - A large dying cockroach in our room on day one; - The inexplicable use of loud power tools inc. an angle grinder not five feet away from the tables in the restaurant during the whole breakfast service, while we and the only two other couples staying here sat and waited 50 minutes for toast and fruit to be delivered. Why this couldn’t have happened at any point other than breakfast I do not know; - 30 minutes of a petrol-powered leaf blower being used immediately outside our room on my wedding morning while we got ready; - Messaging the WhatsApp number the hotel uses in lieu of room phones and being asked who we were (despite the hotel saving our number on arrival and there being a whopping 6 guests in total at the time including us); - Again, the fact that friends tried to arrange surprises (we will never know what these were) and the hotel not delivering; - The hotel initially refusing to accept delivery of our wedding cake for two, then this not being delivered to our room or made available when we got back. We brought back restaurant leftovers from Bridgetown and ate these in place of our wedding cake; - Being woken up by housekeeping the morning after our wedding to be told a taxi has arrived…which we hadn’t ordered and was actually for another guest. Yes, our room was comfortable and clean and the setting is gorgeous - but at this price point I’d expect this as the bare minimum and it wasn’t why we chose to stay here. Overall gutted with our experience at Sweetfield and glad to be moving onto another part of this island so we can put the disappointment of our stay here behind us.

This is a unique location for a hotel as it is surrounded with lots of local life, however on entering you feel like you are away from it all nestled on a large property with exceptionally maintained gardens. This is also close to Bridgetown, our Port and some of our popular beaches both of the south and west within a few minutes drive.

Lovely big rooms, air conditioning, nice grounds and free massage with your stay. Staff were all very attentive and helpful with a great smile on their face. We didn’t eat in the restaurant - but did see the menus and was mainly European food and very pricey. Drinks were reasonably priced for a decent hotel. Overall a really enjoyable stay in a historic plantation house which has been beautifully restored.

This is a cute little place. But it lacks some things, its Emancipation Day which is great but the kitchen is closed for a private dinner celebration and there’s no food available here so I’m munching on my nuts I brought from the USA. There’s also not a exercise room, I walked around the neighborhood to the beach and back. The front desk is closed sometimes too. Next time I come to Barbados I’ll stay at the Marriott or rent a house.

Great hotel away from beach, peaceful and lovely place to stay. However as peacocks are freely wondering around so expect some noises at night and they can get very loud.

I did a birthday staycation here for 4 days and it was very relaxing. It's not a typical hotel experience, it's a lot more independent and feels like a getaway. The spa was very therapeutic and the pool is very unique and can get very cold. Overall I would recommend it, especially for honeymooners and couples.

Lovely treatments - massage and facial were fab and the lady was lovely. Just seemed very disorganised outside of the treatments. Where we could sit whilst waiting, what we could do, where everything was etc. Otherwise treatments were great and I'd go back for treatments but maybe not as a girls day as it seemed too much to handle

Definitely not your typical chain high-rise hotel. There are only 10 rooms, and each one is different. We were in the Flamboyant room. Very comfortable large bed, big shower, nice furnishings and good AC. And, a big balcony with an ocean view. This is upstairs, and there is no elevator. There is also a nice pool surrounded by tropical plants. Many peacocks roam the property. There is also a good restaurant on the property, we had a good dinner and breakfast from there. It's run by a group of very sweet and hard working women. Would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful secluded hotel in the heart of Barbados. Quiet with loads of character and peacocks roaming the grounds. Lovely staff. Amazing rooms with ensuites and balcony. About a twenty minute uphill walk from the beach but buses and taxis available. Great facilities. Stayed here for three nights before a cruise at the beginning of March in the Plantation Flamboyant room, amazing.

Just returned from a weekend celebrating a friend's 50th and loved it. To be clear, be mindful of all of the reviews explaining that this is not a cookie cutter large resort, it is a small boutique former plantation house that has been converted into a hotel. What we found charming might not be suitable for people who want all of the modern amenities and 24-hour attention. I began contacting the hotel a few weeks in advance to make special arrangements to celebrate my friend's birthday. Sheena, one of the managers, was an absolute dream to deal with. She responded to repeated emails and phone calls from me without ever getting unnerved. She arranged to have his favorite type of cake made and delivered to the hotel when I asked for it. There were refreshments on his arrival that I had pre-ordered and they even arranged a private dinner for us by the koi pond. Our plans had to change because it rained the entire time we were there, but at each turn the hotel staff could not wait to help us make the weekend special. I cannot say enough about the staff, each of them greeted us as though we were visitors to their family home, not random hotel guests. By the end of my weekend, Vicky and I were even teasing each other about which hat I was going to wear and how it made me look like a tourist. They really do make you feel at home. Word to the wise, if there's something special that you need give them as much notice as you can because this is not a large hotel. If you're fair in dealing with them they will bend over backwards to deal with you. I cannot wait to go back to this place it felt like visiting the home of a family friend.

This is a hidden jewel in the heart of a neighborhood call Bridgetown. Hubby and I went here for a couples massage and facial. This manor/ spa is very clean, the staff were all very nice. The young lady Ashley was one of the fabulous massage therapist and she did her magic on my back. Hubby had a nice young lady but don’t recall her name. My husband and I both enjoyed our couples massage and facial. Wonderful staff and I appreciated the historical architectural structure of the manor. It has that old British feel. Beautiful peacocks roam the grounds and the trees keep the outside area shaded with a lovely breeze. We had lunch after the massage and the food was ok nothing to highlight. What I enjoyed most about our massage is the quality time the ladies took, it was not a rush job. I recommend this spot.

It was used as a conference space for my work due to covid. The space was not perfectly enclosed which allowed it to be breathable. The food was awesome and I'm sure we will keep using it.

We went to the restaurant. It was their reopening and we had a ball. The food and drinks were great. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The prices were a bit high, but given the economic climate globally, I won't fuss too much. I would go again.

I DEFINITELY will be returning. The atmosphere is peaceful and truly stunning. The peacocks are beautiful and accentuate the property. Rooms are so inviting and filled with everything you will need. I couldn't get enough of the pool. The staff were amazing and delighted to help in any way. The menu caters to everyone. I would tell EVERYONE to visit.

I would like to say a Huge thank you to Vickie, Nicole and their team you all played a major role in making our weekend amazing down to the smallest detail. Nothing at all was too hard or too much but done eagerly with bright smiles. Keep up your excellent work ethics and high level of customer service it definitely left an impression with us being extremely excited to return. My SO definitely enjoyed his birthday and catering to his vegan diet was superb. Another thank you goes out to natalie in the restaurant excellent job and as well as her team very attentive. Oh yea many thanks to Sheena I think she is the reservation manager for securing the booking after I tormented both Vickie and Nicole with my indecisive and last minute self due to losing a family member the same week and also helping us to get back into the manor after we got back a tad bit late🤦🏾‍♀️. Your boss should feel very honoured to have a trusted team like all of you running his Manor.

Lovely with an amazing patio area. One mark lost as no coffee sachets... Apparently they no longer provide them... Just tea bags! We were provided with a jug of coffee though. Friendly staff. I felt getting there an hour before check in and having to pay 75 dollars USA was a bit steep. Breakfast was tasty and eaten in a lovely area once out of quarantine. Nice me u choice for lunch but evening meal didn't suit my tastes. Good security.
