My husband and I came here for our honeymoon for 10nights. We went self catering and found the apartment fully equipped for this. We made breakfast, lunch and dinner here and had everything we needed. The accommodation was dated but very clean. The room was cleaned every day, towels changed daily if you wanted, floors swept, beds made/changed. We found no problem at all here. Try the rum punch from the restaurant , we had 1 as soon as we arrived whilst watching the crystal clear sea and crashing waves. The sea was quite rough at times not suitable for children. We still went in and had a lovely swim. Ten minutes down the road , turn right out of hotel, you will find 2 supermarkets and markets stalls selling fresh food. Turn left out of hotel, 5 mon up road to Tikki bar which sells amazing cocktails and food. We went there a couple of times when we couldn't be bothered to cook. Catch a reggae bus for 3.50 dollar, just jump on and press buzzer when you want yo get off. An amazing experience lol Overall we have no complaints with the hotel and would definitely return and recommend to friends and family.

Great location on the beach although the nature of the part of this stretch is that the tides and currents are very powerful so no swimming in enforced. Lovely staff, and laid back vibe. There is a tiny gym and small pool... for a dip, not lengths!! However knocking off a star as many rooms hear road noise except block C which is closer to sea. We were in block D which faces the road and this was a bit bothersome. Permanent broken lift in block D so ask for a different room upon booking if you have mobility issues. There is a microwave, kettle, hob and cookware in the kitchen. Plus fridge.

We stayed here for 5 days before going up to holetown and loved the blue orchid for its central location to many things and laid back friendly vibe. We had an Amazing balcony facing the ocean and pool , private and roomy. The beach was also very quiet and peaceful. Our Room was very cozy and comfortable though a bit dated in kitchen and bath . Comfortable bed and good blackout curtains. Ac works great It was very handy having the little kitchenette. Kitchen is Very well equipped with lots, plates, utensil, microwave, coffee, kettle , stove. A few basics like dish soap and coffee filters would have been appreciated as we had to buy a lot of things to cook for a very short stay. We weren’t sure if this was the norm, but our next stop in holetown had soap, filters and some basic spices in the kitchen which was very helpful . Friendly staff, security at night made us feel safe . Shout out to Amanda and Reggie for making everyone feel welcome and their exceptional service Quiet walkable beach - fairly large waves some days. Turtles swimming out front. Very safe. Nobody hassling you to buy things. Not crowded like other beaches. The hotel provides loungers and umbrellas which is great Small but well maintained pool. Pretty gardens . Great location - can walk to the gap and Rockley and hastings in minutes. Walk to pebbles beach and Carlisle bay in 45 min. Dover beach and the gap in 20 min. Bus out front makes it 3-10 min to get everywhere. Grocery steps away , Starbucks, secondhand books (book den), mojos restaurant fantastic, tiki bar right up the street. Buses right out front Other : some traffic noise, occasional barking dogs, fairly self serve and need to stock your own kitchen . Limited night life here but an easy bus ride away. Not for people wanting to party or get waited on hand and foot but we absolutely loved the views, the beach and the laid back cozy vibe here. We would absolutely come again

We would recommend this apartment - hotel. Positives were: it's right on the waterline, has its own sandy beach with complimentary sun loungers, lovelyOK views over sea from many rooms, lovely pool, you're not disturbed by staff offering drinks when you're at the pool, really nice gardens, small gym which is air conditioned, has treadmills but minimum other equipment, rooms will cleaned everyday, not far from restaurants and food stores. Negatives: many rooms hear road noise except block C which is closer to sea. We were in block D which faces the road although ours was over the reception which out of that block is furthest away from road. Most of the time the sea was noisier than the road which was nice. Permanent broken lift in block D. We didn't try the restaurant. We either ate out or prepared food in our apartment.

First...Staff are very nice. Location was amazing. Pool seemed clean However...Our stove was broken, one out of the 4 elements worked...Unless I hit the second element then it would start working. Called the front desk and they sent over someone to get it working. After that 3 elements worked, but it would give me a bit of a shock if I touch the stove and something else grounded. Requested dish soap...sent over a half filled very watered down bottle. Bathroom was in rough shape, mildew/mold...something on the ceiling, soap dispenser falling off the wall. Most of the food was really bad. One point we talked to them about our food because we figure they must have got the order wrong. Turns out they didn't have most of the things to make the wrap so they just threw a bunch of things in. Including hot dog. Which is not an ingredient in a Mediterranean wrap.

I gave 3 stars only for the location of the hotel. The location is excellent and the room is clean. The hotel is right on one of Barbados most beautiful beaches. In the bedroom the floor is tiled. There are no mats in the entire room. When you come off the bed be prepared to step on cold tiles. The bathrooms are second rated and the only thing that flushes well in the toilet is #1. Please do not try #2 in that toilet since it does not work to flush that. When you go to the beach they offer special beach towels. These look like they were been used since 1990 or so. Very old, washed out, and stains here and there. I refused to use them. The elevator does not work, thus I had to carry a large 50 pound suitcase up 4 flights of stairs and down again when I left. Horrible. When asked about the elevator the answer was that because of Covid19 they do not want too many people in it. Very stupid answer. Most of the time I passed though the lobby there was no one. Very rarely I would see one or two persons being attended to. Where is the large number of people that would crowd the elevator? One total eyesore at this hotel was a fish tank that was in the front of the lobby. I have to say that this was the ugliest fish tank I have ever seen. A few Koi were swimming around. I felt sorry for them. What a sight? The staff is okay. The front staff functions as if you do not exist. No friendly smiles, no hellos unless you make an attempt. Security guard Joseph is an extremely nice guy. He takes time to notice people and engage with them. Use Joseph to train the front staff in hospitality.

Easy to find location. The pool, view and the rooms were actually quite nice. However the hallway was really dirty and there was no security on one of the days. No matter how many times we passed there, no security officer could be seen. The games room was also lackluster and the air hockey table was broken. In all, not a bad experience for the price.

Nice hotel with mesmerizing view of the ocean! The property has a well-maintained pool, beach facilities (with chairs, umbrellas, towels), showers. The rooms are equipped with good furnitures in and out (the balcony specially was very enjoyable). The staff were professional, helpful and overall the price for such a good beach resort was reasonable. Highly recommend!

Reasonably priced hotel, right on the seafront. Apartment was clean and had everything we needed. Pool and outdoor area was good. The gym was minimal and the Aircon didn't work, plus no opening of windows wasn't great.

Great location on the beach, rooms as pictured and described, good location for Bridgetown and grocery shop if self catering , would recommend as a good place to stay, you can't beat that view.

A very pleasant hotel with good customer service. I felt at home staying here. I had so much support from the staff and management as i was pregnant and eventually stayed for a while with my baby after delivery . They kept checking on us to make sure we were okay. The rooms are very neat with very soft and comfy beddings that are so inviting. You get nice view of the Beach which is just separated by nice woodwork. You easily work out of your room to the beach in 20 seconds assuming you do not want the beautiful relaxing swimming pool. I had a good time there and will definitely come back

Despite it's superb location, I am sorry that cannot give this hotel a better review, we had no end of repair problems whilst we were there, to be fair, they were dealt with quickly and their maintenance team worked hard to resolve issues as they arose. However, with few exceptions, the reception team was unfriendly and unhelpful to the point of rudness. The rooms and equipment are tired and need updating, the room had not been well cleaned before arrival, in fact one of the bathrooms was very dirty indeed, we needed to clean it before we could use it. Ultimately we had to be moved when water poured through one of the bathroom ceilings. This was not their fault - it happens. We were moved to the sister hotel next door, although still in need of upgrading, the apartment was clean and the staff noticeably more helpful and friendly. This hotel is a poor 3* with a little attention, it could be so much better. All of that said, it's location is superb, direct access to a beautiful and secluded beach, close to amenities. Easy to get to transport etc. We would not stay here again, although we would stay at the sister hotel next door again were we to return to Barbados.

Location is good. Rooms are not really up to European standard. For one night it’s okay.

Staff were very nice, facilities were clean and rooms were good, working AC and fans in the rooms, very easy access to the beach which is beautiful and stunning view towards rockley beach at night

The lady at the desk seemed a bit annoyed when I wanted to check in then when I discovered ants on my bed she was really nice and actually changed my room twice to fit what I originally paid. Sadly I couldn’t swim since there was a red flag on the beach during my stay

Not the most helpful reception staff. Very very slow breakfast service. No poolside bar. Rooms ok

Wacky lift, stairs are provided! No beach bar, but there is a lovely beach side restaurant. Rooms and pools cleaned daily. All rooms are sea view. Beautiful gardens and plenty of loungers, chairs and tables, and brollies. Perfect location between Rockley/Hastings and Worthing/The Gap, and on the bus/ZR route.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ This is our third time at The Sands and we couldn’t love it more. The staff are friendly, the rooms clean and spacious and the local fun is perfect. The sun beds are comfortable, the pool is a dream. We love the live music at night as well.

🫀 I would not call this a hotel but self catering apartments with restaurant onsite when it is open. This is run by separate people to the hotel. Rooms are in need upgrading badly. Even though we had booked a room in advance this was not available when we arrived as it had been given to somebody else...
