We recently stayed at the Soco for a week. It’s a small hotel but has an all inclusive restaurant and bar. It’s a quiet place near to amenities but not right in the thick of things. Not being partiers, the quietness was perfect. The bathroom was a bit dated but everything in the room and property was clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was a bit limited in options but so nice to not have to worry about finding somewhere to eat every meal. The bar was small and quiet, which is my preference. The pool is small but a great place to chill and cool off. It’s right on a small beach that has a wave break so perfect for people who want to be in the ocean but not have big waves. There were always lots of chairs for everyone. I would definitely recommend this place if you want a peaceful care-free experience.

Nice hotel, amazing service, good food. It's a little dated and could use new chairs for the beach area, but the hospitality of the staff makes up for it. The pool is well maintained. Nice swimming beach here, but it is little rocky. Food was freshly prepared and they provided several options for each meal. Overall a good fit for us!

Such a stunning ,friendly, intimate smaller hotel . All rooms are sea view and WOW !!! What views. Cove is safe and great for swimming . Food cooked to a high standard. The only negative was a very limited menu and a little repetitive. Great bar with branded alcohol. Pool small but adequate. Adult only hotel too.

I don't think words can describe this place, the location is perfect, the staff are a pure vibe and the food is top standard. I came here with my wife for her 30th and asked Stephanie to arrange decor for the room for my wife birthday, she and the staff did this with no issues whatsoever they did an amazing job (Massive shout out to Shreen and Ashley doing the actual decorating). Now let's get down to the bar staff- they are a vibe! Michelle, Shane, Trey, Jason and if I've missed anyone I'm sorry but you are all amazing. They all make the most amazing drinks ever. We did all inclusive and the food here was just amazing we didn't leave once for food- kudos to all the amazing staff at the restaurant, from the ones cooking to the ones taking down the orders- you are all amazing. I cannot emphasise how amazing the staff are here, they make this place what it is, in its beautiful location with some amazing places. Extra shout out to Michelle, Trey, Jason, Shane, Stephanie and Shreen.. give these guys a pay rise- they are a credit to this hotel.

Recently travelled here with my honey and had a fabulous time. Smaller resort but that made it so much better! Food was fabulous. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Very kind. The rooms were clean. Pool was well maintained. Bar was great!

At first glance I would give this cute boutique hotel a 4/5. But let’s not be quick to judge a book by its cover. Although it may appear small, this wonderful hotel has big at heart. The service we experienced from the bartenders, food and house keeping were AMAZING. We were always greeted with a friendly smile and felt recognized. Michelle, one of the bartenders, even help up set up a private island tour which was wonderful! Thank you so much for making our Barbados experience one to remember and we will back one day for those crab cakes 🤩

We recently spent 4 nights at this hotel. We wouldn’t hesitate to go back. The hotel is in a perfect position right on the seafront with amazing sunsets. The food was really lovely, more than we could eat, Eggs Benedict for breakfast were divine. The boys at the bar Shane and Justin deserve a special mention as they were great and so nice to chat to, infact all staff were friendly. Not a 5* as there is no lift and we were on the 4th floor…….

Came here for my honeymoon. We had to cut our vacation short because of how terrible this hotel was. The rooms were not cleaned even if we asked for cleaning service. The AC was located above the door only which when you get to bed it’s warm (it’s set to a limited temperature) the bathroom doors do not have locks. We also had the room phone service that did not work so anything we needed we had to go to front desk and guess what, they would never do what you asked. We asked front desk to check out the outlet since we couldn’t charge our phones next to the bed we had to use the one across the room. We lost 5 hours of our vacation that day staying in the room waiting for someone to come in and we went down (this hotel has no elevator) to front desk a few times asking when they’ll show up to see the outlet/ change our room and they never showed up. They told us since we’re leaving early we didn’t need to change rooms!!!! Bar closes early so does the pool. Not to mention we saw a dead rat in the pool while employees were walking past it like it’s not a big deal. Food wasn’t bad, it’s all inclusive but if you asked to take your food to the room and or ask the chef to cook you something near the ending time they would get pissed! Staff were not that friendly and had attitudes. This hotel has water issue which I saw it mentioned by other reviews and it is true! Water was out for a few days (yes we couldn’t shower or wash our hands) and they blamed it on the city being out!!! PLEASE DO NOT BE FOOLED WHEN THEY TELL YOU THIS! We had expedia call them and they told them they had to turn it off for a few days!!! I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone not even to my enemy. We have proof of everything I stated above and will take this to the court if necessary!! Stay away and book your vacation to somewhere else save yourself some trouble and time. Enjoy your vacation elsewhere instead of being pissed about how horrible this place is!!! I wish I could give 0 stars!!

Nice small boutique hotel located right on the Hastings Boardwalk. Service is very good and friendly. The beach is beautiful and clear - a bit rocky at some points so I recommend aqua shoes. Pool is clean and nice. We went when the hotel was not full, so we didn’t have any issues getting pool or beach chairs.

We have just returned after spending a week at this hotel. We had a fantastic time here. The food was absolutely delicious and everyone of the staff are amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. We could not have picked a better hotel. Thank you to Michelle, Jamal, Shane, Tray, Kim and all of the ladies in the restaurant and also the Chef’s. You all made our holiday, thank you very much. Wish we could have stayed longer and looking forward to planning a return trip! X

Great trip - Small hotel with only 24 rooms. Very quiet and a perfect place to relax for a week or two. Drinks were all decent as was the food. The only complaint would be that service could be a bit slow. It wasn't like you had anywhere to be so broadly fine.

My partner booked a last minute week holiday to Barbados via BlueBay Travel , we booked The Soco thinking it was 4 star . The staff were amazing , cheerful and polite but no hot shower , RATS running around the restaurant/ bar and pool area . Yes RATS ! Facilities were more like a 3 star and I wouldn’t ever go back . Food portions were so small , Sherperds pie we served as a main in a ramekin dish . Other guests used to buy crisps and nachos to fill up in their rooms after dinner .

Stayed here for about ten days in Dec 2023. Staff are very friendly and attentive, will go out of their way to get you whatever you need. We really liked the bartender, JP, who made awesome cocktails and was very fun to hang out and make conversation with. Do note that the bar opens at 10 am and closes at 10:30 pm, so if you are looking for nightlife or late drinks, you'll have to go elsewhere. Food is alright, though I do think the Soco could benefit from a less formal environment for meals, and more traditional, local food, as we found it to be quite bland and "Westernized". The location of this hotel is absolutely awesome - it's about 15 minutes' walk to Pebbles beach, tons of local shops, restaurants, bars, and sightseeing close by as well. Very safe location. Soco's beach is beautiful and was honestly our favourite place that we swam during the entire trip. All of the rooms in this hotel face the ocean, with stunning views. Housekeeping comes regularly, and does a great job. Room had everything we needed, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Giving 4 stars overall, as the food was a bit of an issue for us - everything else was great and we would go back to stay again, for sure - thanks Soco staff.

Wouldn’t recommend unless you are a mediocre person lol. The place is so ran down and full of mosquitoes that bit my perfect skin and of top of that the place is full of defensive staff that don’t like to be confronted about how sucky the rooms are. You can see rats running around, the sofas were falling apart and so stained. Smelly sheets. You gotta be super mediocre to like a sucky place like this.. I know most nicer places are higher in price but go big or go home. We got a little bit attached to the place because obviously some folks are nice and Barbados is beautiful but wouldn’t go back to mediocre Sucky House lol

This hotel was great. Intimate with the friendliest, most welcoming staff. From check-in to restaurant to the poolside bar. The beach is beautiful and steps away.

We recently stayed here as our first long haul and Barbados trip and were nothing less than enthralled, it took less than 48hours for us to say we are going back. The staff are centre stage and bring so much soul and passion to the hotel. Michelle and Shane are quite genuinely the heart of Soco and will attend to anything you need help with, with such love care and enthusiasm. The rooms have just had some TLC and are nice and fresh! The cleaning service are the best hype people ever and so so happy and kind. Rooms refreshed everyday. The food and menus for the all inclusive are wonderful and the drinks and forever flowing! Location is right on the beach and boardwalk and all rooms overlook the sea! We had an issue with our AC unit leaking and it was attended too quickly and promptly. The manager is working attentive and present everyday with guests and always looking to improve! The shower pressure and temperature isn’t the best thing in the world but it is so hot that a little cold water never killed anybody anyway! Everything is accessible via taxi. I’d say the hotel could be better signposted but all the drivers know where it is so again, really does not cause any issues. Intimate, special and really a hub for lovely guests if you like socialising. We will be back!

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at The Soco Hotel for our honeymoon. When we first walked in to our room we were so impressed by the beautiful view- it was stunning as all the rooms overlook the beach which is so close. It is very clean in the rooms, restaurant and shared spaces such as the pool. All staff work incredibly hard (from the reception staff, cleaners, maintenance, waitresses, bar staff and management) and are so helpful if you need anything. There was a problem with our AC leaking which couldn’t be fixed so they replaced the whole unit the next day. The manager is very present and makes sure guests are happy on a daily basis. I’ve never seen such care from a manager. The food is great and we tried some fantastic dishes (yes, there is some repetition but means you get your faves again!) or there are some restaurants close by to try. There is a huge selection of drinks which are always served with a smile. Michelle is a font of knowledge whether it is about drinks or places to visit, directions or the history of rums/Barbados! She is simply fabulous. It is a small hotel which we absolutely loved. The staff really get to know you. I’ve already started looking at returning next year! Thank you to everyone at The Soco!!

Very nice intimate hotel, steps off the beach and a nice pool. All inclusive. Food and Drinks were excellent. My only complaint was the room needs modern technology. Beautiful sunset from your bedroom window. Customer service was great. Kitchen staff remarkable and they pay attention to details. I would highly recommend. Price was good. Location is perfect, close to everything and when in the hotel you feel like your away from everything. Adults only hotel. Would love if they allowed children for a family experience.

My husband and I visited Barbados for our 1st Wedding Anniversary. At the airport, we received a complimentary covid test. They advised that you quarantine until you get your results. We were only quarantined from 5PM to 10AM the next day. It didn't put a damper on our trip at all. From the moment we stepped into the hotel we were instantly taken aback with the views from the lobby. Absolutely gorgeous! The front desk staff was so kind and she was able to give us all our information and we headed right up into our room. A smooth stress-free check-in process was exactly what we needed after a long travel day. After settling down, we decided to grab dinner. (Side Note: When we were booking I was a little uneasy about the fact that there was only 1 restaurant & bar. BUT THATS WAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT). Every meal we had The Soco Hotel was mouth watering! Every single thing! Chef Desmond and his team are amazing. They are heaven sent.  Abigail & Lolene were also such kind servers at the restaurant. Due to Covid, I didn't book anything in advance because I was unsure how long we would be quarantined for.. However, Adriana at the front desk was able to help us book excursions on the spot. While doing that, Chanel (restaurant manager, I believe) offered to pack us sandwiches for our trip since we were missing lunch at the hotel. Super helpful! I can't complain about the a single thing during our stay. Our bartenders Shane & Ron, kept us hydrated! Lol. The rooms was clean and all the room overlooked the water. And it offered the most beautiful view. The hotel is so small and intimate! Everyone knew our name by the end of our stay. That's not something you'd find at a large chain hotel. Hopefully, you're visiting when the pandemic is all over. But it not, you'd be glad to know the front desk will offer in-room covid testing prior to your departure. It does cost $50 USD for a Rapid Test & $150 USD for PCR. (This is the price of the test all throughout Barbados.)  You just have to let them know in advance so they can schedule it with their local doctor.

I booked a last minute room for one night on on the day of check-in (in August). I then turned up to the hotel at around 3.15pm, which is after the standard hotel check-in time. When I turned up, due to the late booking, the room wasn't ready so I was shown to the hotel bar to wait until the room was cleaned. I was then taken to the room about an hour later. The room that I was taken to was in the far east corner of the hotel on the 1st floor. I didn't even have a chance to unpack before I noticed a lot of very off-putting things in the room. 1. The bed was made but it was clear from looking at the floor that the floors had not be swept or washed - there were dead mosquitos and flies all over the floor. 2. A cleaner came barging in the door without knocking about 15 minutes after I entered the room with the expectation that the room was empty and that she was supposed to clean it. When she saw me she looked very confused and embarrassed and left. 3. There were renovation and building noises (like hammering and drilling) coming through the extractor fan vent in the bathroom (the maintenance guy came to check this out and it was confirmed that it was not the noise of the fan, it was construction noise). 4. There were multiple mosquitoes flying around the room. I am an asthmatic so I am not able to spry fly spray around me, especially somewhere that i will be sleeping. This coupled with the fact that the hotel is clearly a party hotel and the room being right next to the people drinking at the bar and using the pool, the room was incredibly noisy. Less than an hour after I entered the room and surveyed everything going on, I called the receptionist and explained the situation above and asked if there was a different room I could move to. She told me there was not. I then called back a few minutes later and asked if it was ok if I checked out, considering I had made the booking not 3 hours prior, and she said that was fine and that I would need to request the refund through the booking agent, who would then request it through the hotel manager and CFO. I did request the refund through the booking agent but when they requested it through the hotel it was denied. I've since been calling and emailing the CFO and she is not turning my calls. Still waiting for my $500 USD refund.
