I arrived to Barbados on the 5th July 3 days after hurricane Else. The day of my departure from my destination country the hotel called me 1 hour before my departure to tell me that they did not get back any electricity but that I should still come to the hotel. I took a taxi when I arrived to Barbados and went to the hotel. On arrival the staff still told me that the power company is still working on the lines but they are not sure if they would get back any electricity in about two days .I told them that I would not be able to stay in the room without AC and the manager told me that I can go to one of their other hotels but I will have to pay for the taxi to get there. And the price is double since it's an inclusive hotel. I thought it was so poor taste that they made me pay for the taxi. I will never recommend any of their hotels to anyone.

My husband and I had THE BEST anniversary weekend here. I'm all bubbly inside even typing this ...where do I start . Okay the location is PERFECT. Active yet quiet and surrounded by amazing food and sites. The hotel itself is stunning. The decor In the lounge is beautiful and the room... The freaking room! So chic, so modern so stylish. I walked into the room and simply smiled. I felt as though I was royalty. I was greeted with an adorable greeting card, wine and confetti on The table.. The air condition, the fresh room smell, the bathroom layout, the bed, the balcony view.. sigh I could go on. It was sublime! My husband would not shut up about it. At night it is super cosy and quiet. The staff was friendly. The breakfast had all my favourites, fluffy eggs, toast, bacon, mushrooms, tomato stew and the most amazing tea. I shall stop now. But we'll be back very very very soon! Thank You South Beach Hotel. We needed this .

FANTASTIC!!! A relaxed hotel that is excellent value. A convenient location. There is a full kitchen in the rooms, and a washer/dryer on each floor. The pool is more for dipping, the lovely beach is across the street. Breakfast was included. Within a few days the friendly staff knew my eating habits and immediately brought the items to the table! From pool maintenance, to house keeping, I never saw any staff not wearing their masks. With working so hard in the Barbados sun, it can't be easy. A extra special thanks to all the front desk staff. Always friendly, helpful and patient. I can't wait to return, hopefully next time without masks, to see everyone's smiles!

A very comfortable place right across from Rockley Beach/Accra Beach. The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included with our package so that was a nice touch. It isn't as varied as I'd like but other than that I have no complaints. The rooms are nice. The Light color pallette feels breezy and refreshing. The bed is comfortable, the washroom is clean and modern. The rainfall shower was great and their is enough hot water for a long shower. It's not a luxurious room but it was comfortable and I had no complaints. I had some good sleeps. I wish the hotel had a little more fit and finish... It lacks a little polish to make it a high end hotel. Lastly, the pool and patio are nice. It wasn't a bustling hotel and that may have been a result of the fact we went off season. The location is awesome! It's close to a bunch of shopping, grocery, restaurants (high end and fast food), beach shack eateries, a taxi stand and walking distance (30 seconds) to the beach. All in all this was a good place to stay and I have no complaints.

A disappointment. We traded our timeshare in to stay here, and it was made known that timeshare clients do not receive the same privileges here ONCE we checked in. No loungers to use on the beach unless you wanted to pay for them. Same goes for breakfast...you do not get it included in your stay. It's unfortunate because the hotel website says that these things are included in your stay....nowhere does it say that it does not if you are a timeshare client. I felt duped by their website because they did not express this at all. Furthermore, I paid extra to upgrade to a larger room in advance. When we walked in the room, I was appalled. It was very small, dirty, and lacked any sort of luxury. The stove barely functioned and was rusty. The walls and trimboards were filthy and really needed to be scrubbed. Some cabinet doors would not close. I didn't feel as if we were on vacation here. It was dingy, dark, and lacked refinement. Be aware that this location is loud and bustling. Some prefer that, but in our case, we didn't. It felt chaotic and very public. We never used the pool, though it looked clean. It is very narrow, but long. The chaise lounge chairs were usually full as there aren't many. The cushions on them looked dirty and required a thorough cleaning. The one positive of this resort is their front desk staff. They were polite and courteous, but the resort just did not measure up to our expectations. If you are looking for a budget conscious stay that is in a busy location, then this is the place for you. If you desire luxury, this is not it. As the adage goes, "You get what you pay for."

Had a good week at this hotel. Location is great, right across the road from Rockley beach and the boardwalk with many pubs and restaurants. The staff are super friendly, the breakfast is basic but good enough, overall I would definitely return to this hotel.

I was a solo traveller and stayed here for 10 days in April (right after Easter 2023). I had a fantastic experience at Rockley South Beach. The front desk staff I regularly interacted with were Janice, Shontae, and Tiara. These ladies are top-notch professionals who are so attentive and are a huge asset to the hotel. Any time I had a question or required assistance, they were always ready to help. I had a junior suite and was very happy with my accommodations. This hotel is clean and within easy walking distance to several restaurants. Rockley Beach is a 1-minute walk right across the street, and a strip mall with several restaurants and a grocery store is a 3-minute walk away. You really can't ask for more--especially if you don't plan to rent a car. Everything is within walking distance. I highly recommend this hotel and I'll be back.

Nice small hotel, very central and close to the beach. Taxi and bus station in front of the hotel and across the street one of the most beautiful beaches. The hotel provides vouchers for long chairs and umbrellas at the beach. Great restaurants within walking distance. The staff is very friendly and eager to make your stay a pleasant one. We can only warmly recommend this hotel and would visit it again. Thanks again to the staff!

The hotel is well placed. Next to a lovely beach and within easy reach of Bridgetown, St Lawrence Gap and Oistins. Great access to local restaurants, bars and shopping. We a had a junior suite with comfy bed, kitchen and lounge areas. Balcony overlooking the swimming pool and local life. The staff were fantastic and made us feel very welcome. Too many to name, but Janice, Marissa and Troy at reception and Kim, Jamilia, Letoya and the rest of the kitchen staff were fantastic x We'll definitely plan to go again.

We were here the whole time we were in Barbados. Here’s our experience: 1. Rooms: We stayed in suite room. It had a small kitchen, a hall, a bathroom, and a bedroom. The kitchen had everything we needed. The rooms were nice and tidy overall. 2. Breakfast: They offer ready breakfast choices and also make omelettes right there (though only one omelette per person). 3. Location: The Rockley beach was just in front of the place, so it's great if you want to enjoy the beach. But if you'll be going to the city a lot, you might spend a lot on cabs or taxis from this location. 4. Other services: If you ask the hotel for a taxi, it will be more expensive. But if you look for a taxi on your own, you can definitely save some money (there's a taxi stand right in front, so it's easy to get a taxi on your own).

My wife and I visited this hotel for a friend's birthday. The staff greeted us will cool cloths and rum punch. It is conveniently located a few steps across from the beach. Everyone was extremely nice and accommodated all we needed during our stay. We are especially thankful for Kim, Jamilia and Tiara. They are the best and so very kind. Thank you for making our stay memorable and enjoyable.

During our entire Barbados stay: 1. Suite Comfort: Our suite included a well-equipped kitchen, a hall, a bathroom, and a bedroom. The kitchen was fully stocked, and the rooms were neat and tidy. 2. Breakfast Delights: The resort offered ready breakfast options and personalized omelettes (limited to one per person). 3. Beachfront Bliss: Rockley Beach, right in front of the resort, is perfect for beach lovers. Yet, frequent city trips may result in higher taxi expenses. 4. Transportation Tip: Ordering a taxi through the hotel costs more. Opt for the nearby taxi stand to save money – it's conveniently located.

Hotel was Average. The room itself was clean however the corridors leading to the rooms could use more frequent cleaning. Their are a set of complimentary washer & dryer on each floor, which was extremely convenient! Location itself is a superb! The beach is across the street, you can access hastings boardwalk, plenty of restaurants, bars and groceries stores. Truly a vibrant area with alot to do! Breakfast was included in the room rate, it was satisfactory but had limited to no meat options.

Excellent location. Tasteful decor. Hotel has a great pool but is also only two minutes from the beach. Staff go over and above...they're simply excellent. Shout out to Troy for organising various events (pool side activities , movie night etc). Also shout out to world class mixologist Ronaldo and of course how could I forget the incomparable and ever helpful Tiara at the lobby? Thanks guys...we had another amazing stay!

Great place for a vacation! The rooms are very comfortable; and the service is great! Location; ideally has South Beach in a very exciting area! There's a plethora of restaurants to visit! Of course; you can always eat at the restaurant located on site! Transportation is plenty; with vans and Transit Board Buses; running throughout the entire day! There are Taxis available across the street from the South Beach Hotel!

Everything about south beach was amazing. But Jess and Troy deserve a big shout out for how kind, helpful and accommodating they are. The hotel of the location is amazing, the breakfast was amazing EVERY morning and the hotel amenities were also great. I would not hesitate to come back here and thank you again.

Lovely hotel by Rockley Beach, well situated as it's close to the Lawrence Gap and Oistins. Next to the hotel is a Chefette so there was always a Plan B for food. Staff were lovely and very helpful, breakfast was also really nice. The apartment was spacious, especially loved the bathroom as it had two sinks and the shower cubicle had a lot of space + good water pressure.

Great location across from the beach. Staff were excellent, so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Great spacious apartment. Complimentary sunbeds at the beach. Great departure facilities, use of private shower/dressing room. Breakfast is basic but good. Definitely recommend

My wife and I visited South Beach hotel for our honeymoon and it was truly delightful. The staff were all amazing, namely Terina, Tiana and Troy at the front desk who were all patient, polite and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable and cozy; the bed was very comfortable, the wifi was strong and having your own kitchenette gave us flexibility to cook small meals for ourselves. The hotel is very conveniently located. Affordable food joints are nearby, and so are some of the islands top restaurants. A wide variety of beaches, pubs, groceries, etc. and the St Lawrence Gap are only a 5 minute taxi or "ZR" trip/ or 20minute walk up the road. We definitely recommend a stay at South Beach hotel and will be back.

Staff couldn't do enough for you. It's clean, friendly. Basic choice for breakfast, but excellent. We has lunch one day, and it was delicious. Large rooms, great shower, big bed. Not much going on at night, but depends what's you want. Would I go back? Yes

We loved South beach hotel for the most part. The location was perfect and the staff was so sweet and helpful. The hotel was a little bit more run down than the photos seem to show. Each day they gave us a coupon to use the beach chairs across the street which was a bonus. The daily breakfast was so nice and Kim always remembered our drink order at breakfast. Our front desk lady was amazing. She wrote down all the restaurants for us and recommended what we should do while on the island. They also had events at night (karaoke night and a night with local artists that were selling their merchandise and a happy hour with the staff one night too). Overall a really great place. The workout room could use some love but I know most people aren’t focused on working out inside when in Barbados :)

I’ve just come back from a 14 night stay with my entire and extended family. This was my second time staying at South Beach personally 4th or 5th time for my partner who was adamant we stay at this hotel and I can say we had the most amazing time staying here. The customer service and politeness of all the staff was incredible. They were super accommodating with all requests and greeted us every time we passed reception. Travelling with a newborn the pool was perfect with a shallow side and a deeper side, plenty of beds and a bar all on hand. Perfect location across the street from Rockley Beach, Cheffette Restaurant next door and the Quayside Mall on the other side. Local bank was in walking distance to change our currency when needed. Special thanks to Troy for really looking after us. Planning to come back again to the island and will be staying at South Beach again for sure.

If you're an adventurous, independent traveler who wishes to check out Barbados' best spots, this is the place to stay! The rooms are spacious and clean, and the staff was so friendly and inviting. This hotel is the perfect place to stay if you’re looking to be in the center of the action and explore all that Barbados has to offer. It’s right across the street from Rockley Beach which was beautiful, and we also loved Pebbles Beach down the road. I enjoyed walking the boardwalk and having access to all the fun beachfront restaurants and bars. I liked the fact that breakfast was included and I could also grab a simple lunch when we fancied a pool day. I also had to do some work while there, and the wifi worked great.

Thank you and the team for such a wonderful stay. Absolutely warm welcome and reception were top tier. Breakfast was delicious and service was excellent. The room was pristine better than expected. The South Bea hotel gave our holiday an extra layer of happiness. Also the location is very good and I would recommend for its ease of access to the beach, public transport, Oistins and St Lawrence Gap. I would come back!

Very friendly staff and cool decor. Colorful lobby and rooms with lots of space and great amenities. Breakfast included and beautiful pool. Location is great - lots of restaurants within walking distance and the beach is across the street. Only con is that it may be loud for some as it is right on a main street.

  • 5/5 Zoe S. 3 years ago on Google
Beautiful, Warm and Relaxing. These words would be used to describe my visit to the South Beach Hotel. I only stayed for 2 nights but it was honestly all I needed for my little staycation. Every small issue I had was met with understanding and quick solutions. Every staff member...and I mean from security to front desk, to kitchen staff...they were all polite and ready to assist with anything. I would definitely recommend. PS. Complimentary Breakfast was very nice and there's variety.
