Excellent quality-price ratio. Well located, walking distance to several restaurants, bar, groceries. Internet is 48mbps

The room was comfortable and very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially when a storm hit and our arrival was delayed several days. Our reservation was adjusted accordingly without even having to adk. Having a kitchenette was great. There was a market close by, and Massy, a major grocery store, delivered to the hotel.

This was a great place for the price. This is not a destination hotel. It's a place to stay and explore the area. Plenty of food walking around there as well as a close by convenience store. Rooms have mini kitchens that we didn't use with exception to the fridge and the hot water pot we used for instant coffee. It has a nice pool, restaurant especially for breakfast and lunch and you can eat dinner but there are many better places for dinner. AC worked very well too, almost too good!

It was amazing. The rooms were nice and quaint, just big enough for me. The staff members were very helpful and welcoming, the view of the room I got was not the best but I was still satisfied, The food was 7-8/10 from me, there was just no wow factor with the food. The room was clean, the bed was soft and comfortable. I experienced a storm while I stayed at the hotel and a few hours before the storm began they provided me with s flashlight for when the lights went out. There were 4 different Wi-Fis so there was always a connection. All in all great experience for my first time in a hotel room alone.

Right from the very beginning we were checked in by a friendly duo called Rosita and Shan. They were able to upgrade us to a lovely sea view which we enjoyed for the entire trip. Everyone at the hotel were extremely friendly, helpful and always had a smile on their faces. In particular, Cathy, Tori, Asher (who made sure we came back to a clean room everyday), Tamika, Everton and Marshall. I can’t recommend this hotel enough. Right on the beach, great food and strong cocktails. Crop Ova was a time and we can’t wait ti return. Thank you to all at Dover Beach Hotel. Phil and Kay

Stayed in Dover Beach in December 2023. Hotel great location, front of house staff very friendly and great recommendations from them. Got picked up from the airport by hotel shuttle, driver very good and helpful. Rooms basic but comfortable and great views. Food in the restaurant was disappointing ate there a few times. Better eat somewhere else club sandwich was poor with bone left in the chicken and the pizza was covering in what seemed like concentrated tomato puree not sauce. Had Christmas lunch which was very expensive for what was served. And only one member of staff in the bar was helpful didn't get her name, the rest on their phones and don't even talk to the customers. Don't want to put people off the hotel as it is great location and rooms good. But eat somewhere else!

For the price, it was not a bad hotel. The toilet kept getting blocked and when we asked the staff to come in they took a long time and we had to call them again. We were given another room the next day. The location is great! Easy access to restaurants and the beach. Very budget friendly but won't be my top choice if I visit again

Fairly simple room, though the kitchen is a bonus, but the hotel cleaning team kept the place spotless. Friendly welcome and very helpful. Pool was lovely and the proximity to the sea and amenities was superb. Lovely stay.

Hotel is in a fabulous location and now boasts two pools in addition to being walking distance from Dover Beach. Also easy access to all the establishments in St Lawrence Gap. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Restaurant is casual and affordable. Updated patio for group events is a nice touch.

My dates of stay Oct 13th, 2023 - Oct 17th, 2023 which I booked on their actual website . I communicated with Shan via email prior to my arrival which was very helpful and professional and my emails were answered within a timely manner. Room was spacious , clean and cool upon arrival and cleaned on a daily basis. My room was sized like a spacious studio apartment (cooktop, fridge with freezer, microwave, sink, dishes and utensils) which was plus (I was able to reheat food, keep drinks cold). Check in was a breeze as my reservation paperwork was already prepared. Entire hotel staff were very welcoming, helpful, professional and informative, including the front desk, bar, housekeeping & groundskeeping/maintenance staff and went the extra mile to ensure guest felt welcome and safe. Special thanks to Dawn Marie for her attentiveness and professionalism. Hotel also has night time security.

Room 102 doesn't have a great plumbing system, as the toilet didn't clear properly, so the hotel was happy to give us a different room the next day (room 101). The only downside it seems is that when you flush the toilet, the shower waste also bubbles - bit concerning. It's not the greatest hotel, but Barbados is an expensive place, and for the price paid, it's a decent 3*. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is appropriate, close to local eateries, a grocery store and a couple of beaches. The restaurant has a great view of the sunset. On Monday evening, they provided rum punch and fish cakes for the guests.

Kind a roach coach from the 1970’s, my room 207 has three beds two placed together and one separate don’t know for what, maybe for the third day? Narrow bathroom and view to the street so keep the curtain closed like in a cave. Not a place I will wish ever to be back no way. No nice places to eat nearby either. Not to be back thanks is only one bight in this place.

Firstly this hotel is in a good location right on the beach ,from our balcony the views were stunning, our room wasn’t great it needed updating, the electrical leads to kettle etc above the gas hob were abit worrying they could get easily melted when cooking this was a extension lead !!!! the beds were comfortable ,the staff at the sea grape restaurant were very friendly and nice the food was not so nice the house keeping staff were also friendly ,the reception staff were another story not friendly at all rude in fact they just ignored us every day customer service was nonexistent never said good morning,I would stay here again as the location was good and stunning views

Nicest staff, cleanest comfiest rooms, perfect location (especially for people without a car), loveliest pool, most amazing ocean view, and coziest little restaurant/bar on the island.

Where do you start ?? Rooms are the noisiest we have ever stayed in, walls are paper thin !! Filthy floors in the rooms, never mopped, wet towels left to be replaced are refolded and placed on your bed causing damp to the bed covers. The pool area is worn out, the walkway around the pool is crumbling, pool is dirty, leaves, branches and debris not cleaned away. The external bar area is untidy, tables are not cleared or wiped unless you ask, service is slow and getting what you ask for is somewhat difficult !! Management never available to discuss any issues !! Beach access and area is good, one saving grace. All in all this Hotel is of a very poor standard, We understand Barbados ratings are different to most other countries but if the Hotel was rated as 1 star it would be overated. Look elsewhere to avoid great disappointment !!!

Booked a room for my layer stay, without any explanation Natalie Franklyn sent me an email to cancel my booking. Totally unacceptable. Imagine if I would’ve turned up on the day, would’ve been stranded 👎

We were pleasantly surprised! I had booked last minute for a week when my other booking fell through. Make sure you ask for a renovated room, as it will have a new shower as opposed to an older bath tub. We stayed in a deluxe studio with an ocean view. Room 302. It was nice to sit on the balcony and look at the beautiful view. The pool is clean, with lots of lounging chairs, and there is also a terrace overlooking the ocean with lounge chairs. The beach is through a small gate, and is clean, safe and quiet. The staff will provide beach chairs if asked. This hotel is next to 2 all inclusive hotels, and is on a nice stretch. The staff was very pleasant, and very accommodating. I asked for a different room, a coffee machine, more towels and it was all provided with a smile. They also let me check out late. The outdoor cafe near the pool/ocean is perfect for breakfast. For $10 us you get a full breakfast. You can't beat that. The coffee could be stronger but it was so nice to have breakfast served every morning and listen to the crashing waves. This is a budget hotel, but is just as nice as many hotels in Barbados that charge double.

The pool was clean, but rooms were dated, and showers had low water pressure. Mixed reception from staff - some were very helpful and gave good advice but others seemed reluctant to help.

Really nice hotel but not fancy. Great location as it's in the Gap and close to everything. Only negatives were, the room was very cold, even with the AC turned off and as our room was on the ground floor, the adjoining building blocked a lot of the sunlight as well as the view of the sea

Ordered a breakfast at 10 am didn't get it until 12 pm. My order 2 eggs overeasy. Lunch ordered at 1 pm at 3 pm didn't get anything. So I try to figure out what's the issue they have one cook for all the resort no one else to do any work. So I would never stay here since also there's a high wave area with large stones barely any space to swim. Go somewhere else. Believe me you will thank yourself. Take a tour if you don't believe me.

The room was extremely dated and the amount of disinfectant to used to 'clean' was overwhelming. You would think the room was cleaned thoroughly, but there were dirty socks under the bed. The bed was very uncomfortabe. I cannot recommend this hotel at all!

  • 1/5 Danielle K. 1 year ago on Google
Respectfully, this is not what the photos portray. The rooms are very neglected (rusted and broken toilet holder, SUPER lumpy and bizarre pillows, unfinished walkways to the beach…). We were told our room key would allow us access back into the hotel after we went for a walk on the beach, and we were totally locked out. I had to climb through a window to get back into the hotel to get to my room. I wouldn’t stay here again. That said - the staff is super sweet

We stayed here 4 days. The location is beautiful. The rooms are a little dated. We loved the terrace with the table for two. There is a restaurant attached with the property, the food was okay. The restaurant does not have much variety in the menu, and just adequate food. The pool on-site is great, spent a lot of time there. We had plates that we had eaten cake on left for several days, still there when we checked out, we had the cake on the second day. We had a good time at Dover Beach Hotel. Some things could be better, however I would like to come back in a year or so and check it again.

Caveat: I was only there to quarantine for 2 and booked the cheapest room. Room was basic but clean and comfortable. Intended to give 3 stars but increased to 4 stars because of the very pleasant and helpful ladies working in the Sea Grape bar and restaurant

If you want to do Barbados on a budget, would definitely recommend. Right on the beach and good facilities. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable.

Kind of basic, but very clean, staff were brilliant . Rooms were fully cleaned between guests and it had a pretty good coast location but no beach of its own. Nearest was only a minute away

The front desk personnel was very good. It's because of them the hotel got so many stars. But my room was bland. No soap. No fridge. No coffee. Too costly for just a bland room.

My husband tested positive when we were in barbados we were taken to this hotel .The staff were lovely they phoned to check how he was . Delivered towels and bedding . Let us stay in room till we checked outo the last day

Gives motel vibes. Not an ideal place to stay while on vacation. The bathroom is extremely dingy and tacky. Room itself doesn’t even deserve 1 star but the breakfast was good. Would not recommend to anyone!

Haven't stayed here but you can eat and use bar as non resident. Made use of happy hour but drinks very small. Small light meal of samosas very tasty. Lovely location.
