I’m not reviewing this as a holiday destination, I’m reviewing it for what it is, a government run covid isolation hotel. Having read previous reviews about how horrible the place is people should remember that you are here for a reason., to recover and stop the spread of covid on this beautiful island. Yes, the food isn’t the greatest but it’s edible and the room is basic but it’s clean. More importantly, unlike other countries around the world the Barbados government do not charge you to isolate here. The staff are lovely and do all they can to accommodate you and I would like to thank them for all they are doing and everything they did for me and my family

The service is exceptional. The staff are very very respectful, friendly and welcoming. The hotel itself, though not a 5-star, served me for my purpose as they accommodated my request for early check-in and late check-out times. Rooms were clean looking, feeling and smelling. Beds were comfortable. Microwave and mini refrigerator was a great addition. Balcony option is wonderful for fresh air and the air conditioning was welcoming for when necessary. The TV actually worked and was easy to navigate, unlike TVs in other hotels I've stayed at. Breakfast was buffet and the options were tasty. No regrets and I will definitely stay there again. Overall service and accommodation was great.

My son and I spent the weekend here and I must say we had a very good time. The rooms are big and clean, AC works really well and the water at the shower was hot and nice. Had a slight issue with the toilet but nothing to shout about and the staff that I interacted with were sooo nice and pleasant. Food was a bit pricey and portions a little small but enjoyable. The pool area was very well maintained. I definitely will be back again.

The reviews on this hotel is definitely not deserved my wife and I will highly recommend it and will return when we are in Barbados

We have stayed here before about 5 or 6 years ago now. The room was basic but comfortable and the staff were nice. We are going back again this December simply because it’s affordable when your in a budget but most importantly clean. I should imagine and hope it has been renovated some more by now. I remember the breakfast was nondescript at the time but it didn’t matter as we had our favourite place for that. Some of the remarks are most unkind. You get what you pay for and there are far worse places. We cannot wait to revisit just to get away at Xmas to some sun and a clean accommodation

I didn't stay here myself but my good friend stayed here for a few days after being discharged from the hospital. They accommodated him at such short notice and took care of him so well. I visited him often and each time I was impressed by the warm service. The security guard on the outside, to the front desk, to the restaurant staff - they were all friendly and so accommodating to my friend. I am so thankful to Sunbay Hotel.

I've stayed here about one week ago with my best friend. I must admit that my time was well spent relaxing by the pool and in the room as well. My friend and I shared one to that consist of two beds. Fresh towels were placed for us. Staff was friendly. Beds were comforble. A/c worked and st times I had to put up the temperature. There was also a TV in the room that worked as well. We even got a later check out time as our flights were later in in the night. The manager was friendly and welcomed us. Overall, the hotel did exactly what I came to do and that's relax.

This place need to be shut down period and let the maintenance remodeling take place. The best thing about this place was the outside of the building. Nothing works I noted that someone quickly defended when a reviewer stated there was no water. This is not only about the public water situation. Faucets are faulty, AC issues disgusting hallways I puzzled that they think this place is acceptable. The food is so mediocre that the children that had no choice to be there as it was the hotel chosen to host the CARIFTA games eat out daily. This place has potential but it seems more appropriate as a homeless shelter or temporary emergency stay than a hotel.

Rooms are ok the beach is just 2 minutes walking distance.

Great for a short stay, not far from the beach and use of the sister hotel that has an amazing beach

The kitchen and waitress was excellent, they could of told me i can pay for aroom. I had ti sit for Long hours watching an unkept garden, next time l would do ur staycation

At first glance coming from the back was not so excited but on entering the lobby and premises it was nice and staff extremely friendly Everything we asked for was accomodated by staff Took my granddaughter and friends to celebrate her birthday Thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, pool and food They said that they had a blast and are enquiring of a staycation next time Would definitely recommmend and return again Keep up the good work and great service

We had a great time here. The kids loved the pool and the staff were all friendly.

Good value overall for the money. The pool area is definitely the biggest perk, as its large with plenty of lounging chairs and the pool itself was very clean. The bar area is a great way to spend a chill evening, the restaurant is decent and the staff specifically is very friendly and accommodating. Negatives: we had a cockroach in our room the staff was hesitant to deal with, the hotel is generally unorganized and the room itself definitely could use updating. With a few small changes, this hotel could be phenomenal for the price. But if you are looking for a place to stay for cheap that still has important amenities, this hotel isn't a bad choice. Just remember what you paid and expect accordingly.

A decent, safe hotel directly across from beach access. The rooms are thin-walled. I could hear every little thing. While I was there, a large group of young people were partying fairly late

Under different circumstances would have scored higher. Stayed@ Sunbay Dec 27- Jan 1, 2022, Isolation Hotel. Tested positive on Cruise, Government quarantined 5 days then brought to Sunbay. First arrived, getting off transport bus, so unfriendly. Took our names, 2 men travelling together was obviously unusual and or offensive. Put us in far end of building and all the other ship passengers placed in the front of resort near each other. There was one Person that delivered our food that went above and beyond in making us feel normal. Dwayne, or something similar, apologize for not remembering. Remainder of staff unresponsive. One bath towel each for 5 days. Called front desk numerous times requesting towels. Also, could not initially make outgoing calls. Locally or room to room. Gave 3 stars because after being in Government Quarantine this was a Palace.

It was ok. Not a new hotel. It worked well for us. We did need aheaver blanket which they provided.

Wifi in room doest work, you should go out to get connection.

Slow check in process. They told us the check in will be at 3pm and it was way past that. Cleaning is poor. Hotel maintence is bad.

Family friendly warm & homely. The staff will accommodate your every need where possible. Great food. Have been to Barbados twice & both times my husband & I have stayed here. Would never go anywhere else we love it that much. Staff are amazing.

This hotel itself is ok. Rooms need updating. The toilet was malfunctioning I had to take the top off each time I flushed so the tank could refill. Breakfast is bland and expensive. Lunch is better but could be improved. There are no beach or pool towels and they ask you to pay 15-20us for one. Staff is friendly and welcoming though.

The worst of the worst. They had 2 restaurants. Then closed one and put hundreds of people into one restaurant. People don’t have even place to sit down. People almost fighted for clean plates. This hotel should have 1 star, not 4. Dirty plates and plastic cups everywhere. Horrible! No manager, no reception, no one cares.

Friendly staff, good amenities, stellar service, prime location .

Was forced to stay here cause I tested positive for covid apon arrival too the island. Wifi hardly ever works AC broke the 7th day (they did bring a fan tho) After telling them I don’t eat fish, I still got fish and when addressing this too the kitchen, the man on the phone told me just to eat the chips untill dinner because the kitchen is busy now 😂, after which we shouted at eachother on the telephone. There are bugs crawling out all wooden furniture around the room, but I guess that’s the Caribbean for you. If I had any other choice I wouldn’t stay here. Worse experience I’ve ever had. Only plus side is the friendly receptionist which are always eager to help, and the people checking my vitals and delivering the food are extremely friendly. 10/10 won’t recommend.

It is now used as a covid facility so all I saw was a room which was very clean. The staff were nice.

It was brief but good would recommend a microwave in the mini kitchenette so guest can reheat they food.

Ok as a base, bit run down, bar closes early, if it even opens, Needs a vending machine so you get a coffee etc ti take to your room as no kettles

The Superior Room was absolutely incredible! It felt like we were living in pure luxury! The room was so spacious, and the air conditioning was a major plus! And let's not forget about the balcony - the view was simply awesome! On top of all that, having the beach and swimming pool just a stone's throw away made our stay absolutely perfect!! A+ service!
