All I can say is wow!!!! I came here with my boyfriend for a birthday trip and we were genuinely blown away. The pictures don’t do it justice, our room was beautiful and the view overlooking the pool and ocean is breathtaking and lovely to look out on at anytime during the day 😁 the staff were absolutely incredible so friendly and helpful special shout out to Kadeem - everyone else was amazing but can’t remember names. From the restaurant staff to the front desk you couldn’t meet lovelier or more helpful people. The food at the restaurant is delicious and they even accomodated my request for cheese on my baked beans for breakfast. We can’t wait to come back ❤️ the vibes were immaculate thank you South Gap ❤️

Staying at this hotel at the moment. Amazing views but I cannot sleep. Karaoke music from opposite the hotel runs till at least 3am in the morning and the hotel does not provide ear plugs. Good location for nightlife lovers but we have been exploring the island. The view of the hotel doesn’t compensate my sleep quality…

My husband and I here stayed here for 14 days - last September and it was absolutely a memorable place. First, the room was great. It was quite a modern style setting and very clean. The view it offered was incredible - the ocean greeted us, the waves were creeping steadily towards us, murmuring of the waves was hypnotic. It was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Secondly, the food was delicious. I was never disappointed with a meal. And the consistency, we spent most of our days eating at the hotel, and not once were we disappointed. Third, the staff. They were all friendly, helpful and made my stay there quite comfortable, and memorable. Honestly, at the end of it, we didn't want to leave but we decided to settle that any time we visit Barbados, we will be staying at South Gap.

We had a great experience at this hotel. The views from our room are BEAUTIFUL and the relaxing sound of the ocean was something I will never forget. We opened the patio door in the evenings and just let the sound of the water put us to sleep. Step right outside and everything is right there... the gap burger stands, the nightclubs, the restaurants, a convenient store, and the beach is just down the road. The restaurant in the hotel has really good food and the ambiance poolside is amazing also. I would definitely recommend South Gap if you are there to have a lot of fun!!!!

Absolutely loved my 3 night stay at South Gap. The view was breathtaking beautiful, the Junior Suite room was everything I needed. Staff were nice and welcoming. 2 for 1 happy hour special is very clutch, pool was nice to take a dip in. All in all I would definitely come back here when I visit the island again soon

Okay, I have to admit…. I’m reluctantly writing this review, as I genuinely believe this hotel is one of Barbados BEST kept secrets and selfishly I’d love to keep it that way for when I return, as it is a hidden gem! 😁 Turning up at South Gap Barbados, I didn’t have many expectations of what to expect, but wow all I can say is that the hotel was one of the best I’ve ever stayed at, every room has an ocean view and you hear the relaxing sound of the ocean whenever you just open the patio door. The hotel was spotless. In a great location with everything outside, including bars and restaurants. The hotel was incredibly modern, however I have to say I think the staff are what genuinely makes this hotel so special. Every single interaction I had was incredible positive and the team at South Gap made me feel incredibly welcome and couldn’t do enough for me! I cannot wait to return and already looking at flights. Thanks again for making my trip so special to the whole South Gap family!

Went as a local to visit some friends who came to the island. A very big treasure in a small place. Recommended for a short stay with nightlife just outside the hotel entrance to enjoy.

SOUTH GAP HOTEL FOR THE WIN South Gap was a great great GREAT stay. I came for a quick 3-day trip with one of my friends, and from start, to finish, this was an amazing stay. It's not a super fancy hotel, but it has the basics. A guard at the front door, nice front desk staff, a pool, and solid rooms. The rooms have double closets, a full-length mirror, a large fridge, microwave, hotplate, sink, dishes and knives and forks, and cutting boards which was so cool and unexpected, and a beautiful view of the ocean from a nice sized deck. The staff was SO nice! ( All except one guy - John, but maybe he was having a bad day. ) They were always willing to give great restaurant recommendations, and the bar staff at the pool made us a variety of drinks that weren't even on the menu and would sit down and chat with us at the end of the day. I will most definitely stay here again. Also, it's in a great location in South Gap. You're right across from a large selection of bars and restaurants and about a 5-minute walk from Dover beach. You can also jump on a reggae van from this area and take it to Brownes beach, which costs about $3 Barbados, about $1.50 USD, and just taxi back. Taxis ran about 25 - 30 Barbados, about $12-15 USD. If you want to be in a friendly local area, this is the spot for you! Also Oistins (spelling lol?) Is just down the road!

Views were fantastic. And perfectly situated in the gap which is great for walkable bars and entertainment. Rooms are a bit small but mostly updated. The sofa was yuk and did not sit on it at all. We had 1st floor beach view.

Staff are very helpful and polite. Room is very clean and location is very convenient if you want to party on the Gap in the evening. It can also get a bit noisy in the evening as the hotel is right beside a lot of bars and restaurants.

We stayed here for a week and got the breakfast option. Our room was spacious and clean. Cleaning staff were friendly and thorough. Bed was comfy, WiFi strong, shower excellent. Pool area wasn't huge but it was never a problem getting lounge chairs on the days we used the pool. Pool maintenance staff were also friendly. Restaurant staff were good - morning staff got to know us and our orders. Food was good. Nothing too fancy but loved the pancakes. Also the chocolate milkshake was very good. The woman at the friend desk was very nice as well. Sorry for not getting names to call out anyone specifically.

The premises themselves are nice, very clean, modern. the location is good. The pool deck is nice. What ruined it was the attitude of the male receptionist that checked us out, who could not be bothered to talk to us and treated us like we didn’t deserve his times. Sadly the noise from the bars from other side of the road was very loud at night - felt like I was staying at a hostel in a party area but there’s nothing the hotel can do about that.

We had a superb stay at this hotel. The bedrooms were modern, clean and comfortable and the shower was excellent. It’s a nice size hotel, not like the huge resorts. The turtle spotting from our balcony made our stay. The only negative (which is not the hotel’s fault) is the loud music from the nearby bars, mainly at weekend. But if you drink enough rum it’s not a problem. The food in the restaurant was excellent.

The staff were so lovely. Although we’re next to the busy street we don’t feel it when we’re inside the hotel. The apartment is clean with a gorgeous view and we get to live the best of both lives. It’s perfect as a couple hotel or even with a small family because of the pool. Authentic bajan food on the menu too - that was the best bit for us. Thank you for taking care of us Terry & Camisha! xx

The rooms are tasteful and modern, the bathroom and it’s amenities leave you wanting for nothing, the location is ideal if you like the party vibes because you’re literally across the road from some of the popular clubs and eating joints, the famous gap burger is situated outside of the gate. Although it’s in the middle of the action you’re not disturbed by any of it while you’re on the compound. The only downfall for me is that the breakfast is a La carte and not buffet, I really would have preferred it to be buffet style. The food is great though and it caters for everyone. Overall it was a great selection and my team and I will always recommend this as a viable option.

My wife and I love this place and stay here every time we visit Barbados. The staff is very friendly and personable. The food and service is excellent, the drinks are stiff and the view is amazing

Excellent service and experience. Restaurant dishes and cocktails also great! Keep in mind you're in the gap so sound travels, but it's also really close to a variety of food and entertainment places. A wonderful honeymoon pitstop, will definitely return.

Hotel was very clean and we loved the amenities in our room. The staff was great and very accommodating. The restaurant food was delicious. There was also tons of restaurants within walking distance and shopping. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Barbados.

Couldn't ask for a better spot for vacation! Hotel is really clean, amazing views, food is good, staff is friendly and helpful. Perfect location with bars and restaurants close by. Coming down to the end of our stay, our ac wasn't working properly but the matter was quickly resolved by the staff. This will be my spot in Barbados from now.

It's where the action is! Close to Oistins if you're headed to the Fish Fry. The staff was so accommodating. There are no elevators if you have mobility issues. They will get a porter for your luggage, but that is something to note. The hotel restaurant served good food. The rum punch is STRONG! A fun experience.

If you are looking for what feels like a family run hotel , clean, friendly and food great (not your normal hotel food) then look no further. The staff are happy and that is a sign of a great manager. Always happy to assist with any issues. Last day here and celebrating our anniversary and they had it so special

The rooms are comfortable, toilet and shower area clean and modern, full kitchen with small appliances, we had everything to make breakfast. I really enjoyed staying there. The view off the balcony is so beautiful. I will definitely consider staying there again. Pool is warm. Bartenders were so friendly. The hotel is in the middle of all the major hotspots, great restaurants nearby...walking distance. I totally recommend South Gap Hotel.

I've stayed in a few international hotels before and I can tell you in many areas, this hotel surpassed them. From the friendly atmosphere to the great food...what isn't there to love. I visited during the week and asked for a noiseless room, which they provided. They even decorated our room and we received a bottle of wine as we were celebrating our anniversary. If I could have permanently stayed, I would. Definitely a favourite!

We stayed at the South Gap hotel for 10 nights in October. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. The hotel is very stylishly decorated and the view from the dining & pool area as well as the room balcony is fantastic, right out to sea. Would definitely stay again. Loved it.

After a 4 year break from Barbados to travel the world, South Gap felt like a sweet getaway in my beautiful island. I could have stayed ANYWHERE in Barbados but decided to try this hotel because of the great reviews and prime location. We had 17 of the best nights there, front desk staff and restaurant staff treated us as if we were friends since primary school, they were so accomodating and friendly, food from Tropical Mist was amazing! Housekeeping ladies were also the sweetest and always checked in on us. I do admit this is the first vacation I ever fit in so much cardio since there is no elevator but I didn't mind! Wish the pool area could be bigger/have more seating but its also nice to enjoy the sounds of the waves, sun and breeze from your room so it's a win/win P.s also the best location for stunning sunrise & sunset photos Definitely a hotel I will be visiting again!

If you’re looking for a simple Bajan getaway without needing to rent a car, staying at South Gap is ideal. The strip it’s on is called St Lawrence Gap and two public beaches are just a walk away. The hotel rooms are bright, airy and modern. The kitchenette is super convenient! No regrets!

Stayed here for a night after my flight was cancelled. The lady at the front desk was super nice and considerate, however, the hotel just wasn't for us, and this hotel does not have any elevators. The superior studio with ocean view was quite small for the cost and smelled heavily of fragrance, and unlike our previous accommodations, this hotel was not on a swimmable beach/water area. The parking in front of the hotel was small and crowded, and the overall hotel location was heavy in nightlife, so in some parts of the room I could hear a lot of noise from outside. If you want to be in the middle of a lot of bars and nightlife, and don't care about having a beach outside your hotel, nor having a bit overpriced small room with only a fridge and a microwave and hot plate, then this may be the place for you, although there is not a grocery store within walking distance, so unless you eat out everyday, you still may need a rental car or taxi here and there. Our room also had ants in the kitchenette, but at least the A/C worked. I definitely would not recommend this hotel for families, but it could be okay for a couple or a person traveling solo who likes to be amongst bars and nightlife.

Fantastic hotel, lovely stuff. Great to have a kitchenette too, so don't have to eat out all the time. Really made our holiday staying there and the location is fantastic if you like to be amongst it
