Didn’t stay at this hotel but did work for them, solved their problems, saved them from a massive repair plan they had in place and was never fully paid for our services. Keep this in mind when you look at this hotel and ask yourself do you want to do business with someone who will charge you high prices for their offerings. But doesn’t pay their vendors who worked 7 days a week to assist them and they decide what your fees should be?

This was our second time at the Sandy Lane Hotel. My husband and I recently went to the Sandy Lane Hotel for the afternoon tea experience and a few drinks. The hotel is located in a beautiful and relaxing setting, and we enjoyed our time there. However, we did have some issues with the security staff when we arrived. My husband had booked the afternoon tea experience online to celebrate an important milestone, but didn't receive a confirmation. When he called the hotel, the staff wasn't very helpful, and we had to come to the hotel a few days before our reservation to sort things out. When we arrived at the gate, the security staff couldn't find our name and wouldn't let us in. We had to wait while they tried to sort things out, which was frustrating. Eventually, later in the day, we took advantage of the guest gate that was opened and were able to get inside the property. Once there, we asked the staff in getting us set up for the afternoon tea. The calendar was full for the next two months, but finally Charissa was able to squeeze us in at the original date and time. Charissa was absolutely lovely! Overall, we had a good experience at Sandy Lane Hotel, but the (security + phone) staff and the reservations process could use some improvement in terms of customer service.

We have just come home from Barbados staying in a local hotel to Sandy Lane. whilst there we thought we would treat ourselves to the afternoon tea, we have been to the Ritz all over the world for afternoon tea and so we were looking forward to a lovely afternoon. When we arrived the weather wasn’t great it had rained heavily and so we were directed to tables slightly undercover but in the open. I expected it to be a lot more elite but I felt we had not arrived for tea in a world class hotel, there was no ‘wow’ to the hotel!!!!! We were asked if we would like a drink whilst waiting , I thought at the price they were charging it would have been lovely to be welcomed with a glass of ‘ Prosecco’ just to make it that bit special . Whilst waiting I noticed large ANTS on one of the tables, thought ok maybe just one! but as I checked the rest of the tables there were ants on all of them. I told a member of staff that I wasn’t happy to sit at a table with ants eating our afternoon tea, they seemed blasé about it all . I asked if we could move elsewhere but was told there wasn’t anywhere , I was so disappointed in how we were treated and appalled at the fact they expected us to just put up with the Ants. In a supposedly expensive elite hotel as it’s known, I would have expected them to be very apologetic and go out there way to assist in providing alternatives but instead we walked out and asked the concierge to call us a taxi, the concierge was appalled at how we had been treated and apologised, the only apology we received.

Came to Sandy Lane hotel with my husband for a week. The hotel never informed us while processing the booking that they had sold out the entire hotel for a wedding on the day of our departure. Last day was ruined as the amount of workers dragging equipment while we were trying to enjoy our last day on the beach. Not only that we were told we couldn’t be around the facilities and we were given a dark room in the spa area with a chair to hung out. You check out of your room at 1pm and our flight is at 10:30pm. You are always allowed in any hotel grounds after your check out while you wait before going to the airport. It is a disgrace that a luxury hotel has made us feel terrible and very upset. Sandy lane management didn’t manage the situation correctly and they shouldnt have allowed had check out on the day the entire hotel was booked. I was also a paying costumer and all the information I got was from the last 3 days to make sure we left our rooms on time. To be honest it has ruined the end of an amazing holiday and I hope that Sandy Lane takes responsibility for their wrong doings. Luckily, there are plenty of beautiful places in the world and we will not be coming back after 15 years of being regulars.

Good quality but definitely overpriced. 5 person breakfast $900. It is crazy. At the end you r eating omelet with croissants and some fruits. Why $900?

This hotel is known for its discriminatory practices. When my family from the UK was visiting over 5 years ago we specifically avoided this place for that reason after reading some Trip Advisor reviews. Since I didn't see any recent complaints about discrimination in Sandy Lane's reviews, we decided to give it a try. We immediately regretted our decision. I watched only Asians/Hispanics/Blacks & other dark-skinned persons be harassed for not wearing shorts during dinner hours. I also watched these guest being followed throughout the hotel as if they were thieves... We also witnessed locals being treated poorly while other patrons walked around in shorts without being harassed etc. It happened so many times during our stay that we actually took pictures which can be furnished if the hotel tries to deny that this occurs... If I only saw one employee do this I would assume he was just an outlier, but unfortunately discrimination is still a part of Sandy Lanes culture. There are a lot of other things I witnessed during our stay... Sandy Lane Please treat EVERYONE the same. This place is too expensive to be treated like a second-class citizen. Please do better.

This is a beautiful hotel however the service at the guests only beach bar was poor when we were there. No bar snacks on offer and the chairs they have are painfully noisy on when you move them - think nails down a black board. If they could address this with putting felt pads on the legs that would be welcomed greatly.

From the moment we pulled up at the hotel the customer service we have received has been World Class. I have stayed in many great hotels and this is up there as one of the best. The staff are amazingly friendly. From cleaner to Beach bed guys. Everyone could be mentioned for really great customer service. The in room dining surpasses the best hotels in Dubai. In my experience so far nothing is a problem. The Spa is excellent and staff amazing also. For me the staff alone make this hotel a must return for me. Well done Everyone.

We just returned from a 6-night stay at Sandy Lane. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and really enjoyed our trip. This resort is as close to perfect as we have ever experienced! The property itself is beautiful and small enough where everything is close, with a boutique hotel feel. We loved being steps away from the beach (literally, about 20 steps!), as well as the restaurants. The beach is great also - narrow with one row of comfortable chaises, so everyone has an ocean front seat. Our room was wonderful as well - very well appointed and clean. The bathroom was large with everything you could ever need. The service at the resort is also top notch - everyone is friendly, helpful and eager to please - probably the best and most caring service we have every experienced anywhere. If you ask for something or make a comment, the staff remember it and strive to proactively address it for you the next time. We were very impressed! We ate at both Bajan Blue as well as L'Acajou during our stay. The food quality was top notch in both, and the service was fairly good also (though much better at L'Acajou). The buffets at Bajan Blue were incredible (including the Sunday brunch). Please note that the meal plan is a must - it literally cuts the cost of dinner by about 65% off of menu prices, so at $82 per person, it is a great deal. However, as close to perfect as this hotel really is, there are a few areas for improvement: 1) Room temperature should be allowed to go lower than 21 degrees Celsius. 21 degrees (about 70 Fahrenheit) is a little too warm and it was not always comfortable to sleep, even with the fan on. 2) Wrist band room keys are great ... but should come in different sizes. Mine was too small and my wife's was too big. 3) Massages are inconsistent in quality. Our first couple's massage was great, but our second individual massages were mediocre at best (my masseuse literally spent 20 minutes massaging my temples!). 4) "Romantic candlelight dinner" which is part of the romance package was nothing more than a regular dinner at Bajan Blue with a basic candle on the table. It was VERY far from what we expected. 5) This is an expensive resort, but some of their pricing is pretty outrageous. $30 for a glass of wine which costs $10.99 for a bottle is just not right. That is more than a 10 times mark-up! 6) While the breakfast buffet was phenomenal, the black birds that are everywhere really take away from the experience. They were annoying, pooping everywhere, making a mess, etc. Most of the time, the staff just ignored them and let them be. They really bothered us. 7) For some reason, ordering coffee at breakfast always took forever, no matter if we ordered regular coffee or lattes. We were almost always already done with our breakfast by the time the coffees arrived. These are minor issues, which did not take a lot away from what was otherwise a really great stay at Sandy Lane.

We went for afternoon tea and from start to finish the staff were so friendly and helpful. The setting was beautiful and the afternoon tea it’s self was delightful. Our server (who I stupidly didn’t get her name) was the best! I loved her attention but also her interaction with us. Laughing and joking but still holding that professional vibe.

I took my wife & little boy here for a special Valentines Day lunch. I have wanted to come here for many years since following Michael Winners weekly Times column many years ago.. The welcome was superb, the table perfectly placed between the restraunt and the beach and the food was as stunning as the view. Really happy to see a big selection of Nappa Valley Noirs and went for the Francis Ford Copolla which was chilled to perfection by the sommelier who was absolutely lovely. We had a truly memorable day and all our pics will last forever! Well done to all the staff at SL Mike, Thuy & TJ

Let’s address the elephant in the room:- you will only consider Barbados if you can afford it:- the same for Sandy Lane. That said if you can:- GO TO SANDY LANE. It is so much more than any to compare on the island. All aspects are sublime:- welcome, room, food and so much more. The first (and second) time you arrive at the Spa or the country club your jaw WILL drop as they are simply incredible. But now to the main aspect:- Barbados epitomises the phrase you will hear most often:- YOURE WELCOME. Sandy Lane does this but, beyond that the staff exude a GENUINE INTEREST. They could not have been more charming and accommodating on the personal and service level. Simply lovely people going well beyond service for us. If you can:- go to Sandy Lane!

This is what a 5 star should be! I have travelled all over the world and this is one of my top resorts I have stayed at! PROS: - Every member of staff is friendly, helpful and will go the extra mile for whatever - and I mean - whatever you want! They really make a special effort too to make you feel welcome and valued. Even by the little touches like remembering your name (but politely still addressing you as Mr / Mrs). - Best beach dining view you will find on the island IMO. The sunsets here are spectacular! - It really is the “easiest” place to stay at. They make it so that your entire stay is seamless and hassle free. Even meeting you at the airport and swiftly getting you through VIP/customs so you don’t even have to queue! CONS - Not so much of a con, but more a warning. Be prepared to pay crazy amounts for just about everything here. Eg a bottle of water that would cost £2 in the shop, expect to pay around £15. Expect to pay around £12 for one small scoop of ice cream. A buffet meal will cost you around £500 for two people (more if you are drinking a lot of alcohol) - The food is delicious but a bit disappointing that no local / Caribbean options at the various restaurants. They do have one evening a week at the buffet where they do Caribbean night. But given that you are in the Caribbean, it’s a shame they don’t have any Caribbean infusions in the normal every day menus. All in all, loved it here. Felt very sad and a little tearful to leave! Will defo be returning !!

A five star hotel if ever there was one. This hotel is in an amazing location with breathtaking views of the sea. The beach is fabulous and great for swimming. Many complimentary water sporting activities are also available such as kayaking or snorkeling. Food here was amazing and I'd highly recommend the buffet which changes theme nightly so you never have to worry about getting tired of the food available. One thing to note is that ordering coffee to your table in the morning takes the same amount of time as finishing your meal so caffeine lovers may need to nudge the staff in the mornings. The rooms are spacious, luxurious and well kept and offer a comprehensive room service menu for the days the buffet doesn't interest you. The spa here is outstanding and also features a state of the art gym that has workout equipment and amazing trainers available. Overall if you have money to spend this is the place to do it. Truly paradise.

It's the people that make it, everyone we came into contact with was great. Yes the place and its setting, the food etc are 1st class but the people are better. If you were falling off a cliff you would want them at the bottom.

35 day cancellation policy!!!! Make sure your plans don’t change or you don’t have an emergency. All the other hotels on the island have the same customary cancellation policies as the rest of the world.

Love staying here. We stayed in a suite on the ground floor, very comfortable room and direct access to the beach. Unfortunately it rained a lot when i was there, so I didnt go out much. Love the food, they also have a pretty big gym, and enjoyed our lunch at the Country Club, its beautiful view from there!

We went for a birthday dinner and I will say none of the people enjoyed the venue. Service beyond slow, dinner orders were confused and people ate the wrong items because the waiter has made a mess of the orders. Food for the most part was poorly prepared. It truly was a disappointing evening

When I think of a time when I have traveled to a destination that was perfectly transformative and beneficial to my overall mental, physical and spiritual health, I recall my stays at Sandy Lane. From the outstanding service to the amazingly appointed rooms, everything about this place is magical. On my last visit, I brought along my bestie who admitted that her travels to the Caribbean have been forever changed. Thank you. Well done. 🙏🏾☮️

This is a review for Bajan Blue. Extremely slow service, mediocre food for the cost. There are too many good restaurants on the island to ever go back to this one.

It’s by far one of the best hotels I have stayed at, having said that I am comparing it directly to the four seasons as well as the Shangri La and Mandarin Oriental. Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ambience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Room⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pickup vehicle ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Live band ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Beach ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ Views ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pictures don’t do justice, this hotel is very special and you have to book a night to understand what makes it special from any other hotel in Barbados. If you do decide to book it, you will be able to enjoy all the surprises that Sandy Lane throws in while you are there.

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at! We went in May 2022. What an incredible place.. the staff treat you like royalty, they are all incredibly friendly, professional, happy and go out of their way to help and care for you. It seems like they love working there. They are a true asset to the hotel and are one of the best parts. Not only is the service incredible, but also the room and all of its amenties. The room is always spotless, there were no issues and it was in incredible condition, no complaints. Truly luxurious. Only downside is that I wish someone prepared me for the mosquitos and had told us about the mosquito plug. The food at l’ajoucou was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I got the risotto for starter and the black cod for main. Both were to die for. The staff went out of their way for my birthday, I got a canapé on the beach and I think everyone wished me happy birthday and were all aware of it. The afternoon tea was good and breakfast is good, staff tell you when the kitchen is about to close so you have plenty of time to get more food. And the bajon blue res It’s not a cheap hotel, but it was worth every penny. I can’t wait to visit again! Staff treat you like family. Wish we had stayed for 3 weeks instead but we had two weeks. The spa was also great, had a Swedish massage and a romantic bliss package. Loved both massages. The beach is also extremely clean the hotel feels safe due to the security. Loved the entertainment, was very fun. I’m really struggling to find anything to complain about! Owen the taxi driver (he works independently) was also amazing. You can find him outside the hotel and he gave us two amazing tours around the island. Nothing is too much trouble to the staff, the way they celebrated my birthday was so much fun and amazing!
