My
Wife
and
I
went
to
Waves
Hotel
and
Spa
in
Barbados
for
our
Honeymoon.
This
is
one
of
the
somewhat
recently
acquired
all
inclusive
properties
from
the
small
local
Elegant
Hotels
chain.
For
our
one
week
stay,
I
booked
the
1
king
bed
pool
view
suite
on
the
adults
only
side
of
the
resort.
We
were
greeted
with
Bonvoy
exclusive
welcome
drinks
in
the
lobby
while
someone
carried
our
bags
to
the
suite.
Once
in
the
room,
we
discovered
some
Chardonnay,
chocolate
cake,
and
a
congratulations
note.
The
king
size
bed
had
a
nice
heart
arrangement
made
of
towels
on
it.
The
room
had
hardwood
floors
in
the
living
space
and
balcony,
and
ceramic
tile
in
the
bathroom
and
on
the
balcony.
The
furniture
was
contemporary
and
comfortable.
The
king
sized
bed
was
a
little
firm
but
we
had
no
trouble
sleeping
after
long
days
in
the
sun
and
a
few
drinks.
The
bathroom
was
small
but
had
a
nice
walk
in
shower
with
good
water
pressure
and
hot
water.
We
were
able
to
spend
some
of
our
mornings
on
the
balcony
with
a
nice
cup
of
espresso.
The
resort
is
divided
by
a
busy
street,
which
took
some
getting
used
to.
As
I
said
earlier,
we
were
staying
on
the
adults
only
side.
This
side
has
a
set
of
guest
rooms,
the
adults
only
pool,
the
spa,
and
Shiso
(Asian
fusion
restaurant).
Shiso
required
reservations
and
was
open
from
630-1030pm.
Food
quality
was
very
good.
The
main
building
of
the
property
was
across
the
street,
and
it
featured
the
front
desk,
guest
services,
Kyma
(the
coffee
shop),
and
Seascape,
the
main
on-site
restaurant.
Seascape
had
buffets
for
breakfast
and
lunch
from
730-1030am,
and
12-230pm
with
rotating
items
throughout
the
week.
Quality
varied
from
above
average
to
very
good.
There
was
also
a
rotating
dinner
menu
(reservations
required)
from
630-1030pm.
Kyma
was
open
10am-6pm
for
coffee,
pastries,
and
sandwiches.
On
the
5th
day
of
our
stay,
we
found
a
note
taped
to
our
door.
It
was
an
invitation
to
a
Bonvoy
member
exclusive
cocktail
party
that
evening.
We
were
greeted
at
the
party
by
the
Guest
Services
Manager,
Property
Manager,
and
Facilites
Manager.
They
had
Bajan
Sunset
cocktails
and
small
plates
on
hand.
Both
were
very
good.
There
were
only
6
Bonvoy
members
staying
at
the
resort
on
the
day
of
the
party.
We
made
use
of
the
included
amenities
besides
food
and
drinks.
Each
day
had
scheduled
events.
Yoga,
karaoke,
mixology
class,
bingo,
etc.
These
events
were
included
with
our
rate
along
with
access
to
the
water
taxi
and
on
site
water
sports.
The
events
we
attended
were
fun
and
relaxing.
With
the
water
sports,
they
just
have
you
sign
a
waiver
and
tell
you
where
to
go.
My
wife
and
I
each
received
two
complimentary
spa
treatments
for
the
trip.
There
is
a
5
day
stay
requirement
for
the
spa
treatments
to
be
included.
The
water
taxi
is
available,
weather
and
tides
permitting,
for
travel
to
some
of
the
other
Elegant
hotels
on
the
west
coach
of
the
island.
It
is
not
available
during
dinner
hours.
I’m
unsure
if
this
changes
during
the
summer
with
more
daylight
or
not.
The
taxi
does
not
stop
at
The
House
or
Turtle
Beach.
We
utilized
the
water
taxi
to
try
lunch
at
Tamarind
and
Crystal
Cove
on
two
separate
occasions.
Going
to
a
sister
property
required
a
reservation,
which
needed
to
be
booked
through
Guest
Services.
Dinner
reservations
at
sister
properties
during
our
stay
required
guests
finding
their
own
transpiration.
We
did
pay
for
some
off
site
events
that
were
arranged
through
the
resorts-
there
was
a
shuttle
to
another
part
of
the
island,
by
Colonly
Club
(another
Elegant
property)
to
take
a
catamaran
out
into
the
ocean
to
look
for
sea
turtles
and
coral
reef.
There
was
another
trip
arranged
to
see
Oistin’s
Fish
fry.
It’s
an
outdoor
market
with
a
music
stage
and
lots
of
food
vendors,
similar
to
a
boardwalk
in
the
US.
All
in
all,
it
was
a
worthwhile
trip
and
we
both
agreed
that
we
would
love
to
make
a
return
trip
at
some
point.
Not
too
many
Bonvoy
members
and
most
of
the
other
guests
we
met
were
British.
The
resort
was
clean
and
staff
were
friendly.
A
fun
and
exciting
honeymoon.
