Absolutely loved staying here, so sad to leave at the end of the holiday. If you can, stay at least 10days as 7 wasn't long enough in my opinion. The staff were fantastic and couldn't have been friendlier, more helpful and fun. Pamela in particular was a firm favourite bringing a stream of refreshments to the beach sunbathers. The food was fresh and delicious throughout the week with plenty of choice. Was a nice change to eat a lot of fish instead of just meat. Watersports included (sadly some swell hampered my fun for a few days when it wasn't possible to operate) were a welcome break from lolling in the sun! Want to explore the island more and will definitely come back to Waves.

The cleaning staff are thieves! They stole a pair of earrings. So disappointing, because I didn’t realize until I got home. I left the staff gifts for the service like I typically do, not knowing they stole from me. Anything positive has been cancelled out. The room was beautiful (oceanfront) and front desk staff was pleasant. The food was horrible! Had to visit a sister property to get decent food. None of that matters when you’ve been stolen from. People work too hard to afford vacations, just to be subjected to thievery!

My Wife and I went to Waves Hotel and Spa in Barbados for our Honeymoon. This is one of the somewhat recently acquired all inclusive properties from the small local Elegant Hotels chain. For our one week stay, I booked the 1 king bed pool view suite on the adults only side of the resort. We were greeted with Bonvoy exclusive welcome drinks in the lobby while someone carried our bags to the suite. Once in the room, we discovered some Chardonnay, chocolate cake, and a congratulations note. The king size bed had a nice heart arrangement made of towels on it. The room had hardwood floors in the living space and balcony, and ceramic tile in the bathroom and on the balcony. The furniture was contemporary and comfortable. The king sized bed was a little firm but we had no trouble sleeping after long days in the sun and a few drinks. The bathroom was small but had a nice walk in shower with good water pressure and hot water. We were able to spend some of our mornings on the balcony with a nice cup of espresso. The resort is divided by a busy street, which took some getting used to. As I said earlier, we were staying on the adults only side. This side has a set of guest rooms, the adults only pool, the spa, and Shiso (Asian fusion restaurant). Shiso required reservations and was open from 630-1030pm. Food quality was very good. The main building of the property was across the street, and it featured the front desk, guest services, Kyma (the coffee shop), and Seascape, the main on-site restaurant. Seascape had buffets for breakfast and lunch from 730-1030am, and 12-230pm with rotating items throughout the week. Quality varied from above average to very good. There was also a rotating dinner menu (reservations required) from 630-1030pm. Kyma was open 10am-6pm for coffee, pastries, and sandwiches. On the 5th day of our stay, we found a note taped to our door. It was an invitation to a Bonvoy member exclusive cocktail party that evening. We were greeted at the party by the Guest Services Manager, Property Manager, and Facilites Manager. They had Bajan Sunset cocktails and small plates on hand. Both were very good. There were only 6 Bonvoy members staying at the resort on the day of the party. We made use of the included amenities besides food and drinks. Each day had scheduled events. Yoga, karaoke, mixology class, bingo, etc. These events were included with our rate along with access to the water taxi and on site water sports. The events we attended were fun and relaxing. With the water sports, they just have you sign a waiver and tell you where to go. My wife and I each received two complimentary spa treatments for the trip. There is a 5 day stay requirement for the spa treatments to be included. The water taxi is available, weather and tides permitting, for travel to some of the other Elegant hotels on the west coach of the island. It is not available during dinner hours. I’m unsure if this changes during the summer with more daylight or not. The taxi does not stop at The House or Turtle Beach. We utilized the water taxi to try lunch at Tamarind and Crystal Cove on two separate occasions. Going to a sister property required a reservation, which needed to be booked through Guest Services. Dinner reservations at sister properties during our stay required guests finding their own transpiration. We did pay for some off site events that were arranged through the resorts- there was a shuttle to another part of the island, by Colonly Club (another Elegant property) to take a catamaran out into the ocean to look for sea turtles and coral reef. There was another trip arranged to see Oistin’s Fish fry. It’s an outdoor market with a music stage and lots of food vendors, similar to a boardwalk in the US. All in all, it was a worthwhile trip and we both agreed that we would love to make a return trip at some point. Not too many Bonvoy members and most of the other guests we met were British. The resort was clean and staff were friendly. A fun and exciting honeymoon.

We booked this all inclusive hotel on the fly after we cancelled our trip to Maui due to the tragic fires. Our first impression of the hotel was that it was fantastic. As we stayed there, a few things came into focus and we were very ready to leave by the end of our week long stay. Let me start by saying that we discovered that we realized that we are not all-inclusive resort kind of people. We drink occasionally and we enjoy really fresh, healthy meals. The fresh foods were not in abundance here, and when we saw healthy foods, they didn’t look fresh. The hotel leans heavily into fried fish, bbq hot dogs and hamburgers, etc. One huge positive is that the beach and water in Barbados is phenomenal! I’ve never seen prettier water in all shades of crystal clear blue and turquoise. Our room situation was remedied by the kind staff. We started out in a room with a balcony, but as many have mentioned here, the a/c fan is positioned right across from the chairs on the balcony and blows hot air in your face, making it impossible to sit outside comfortably and enjoy your view. The staff responded to our concerns by placing us in a larger suite where the fan, while still present, was anchored higher up on the wall so you didn’t have to contend with it. The downside is the larger room had the same size a/c unit that in my opinion, is too small for cooling the room. On it’s lowest setting, the room was not quite cool enough. We live in a cool US state so warm weather is harder for us to tolerate. Aside from this, I would say the only other thing that truly baffled me about our room was the bathroom caulking job and overall maintenance in the bathroom. The caulking has been globbed on, smeared everywhere and it is bizarre that in both rooms this was the case. It looks like this in both rooms. The bathrooms are worn down and look like they could use some TLC from a professional remodeler. This just wasn’t the place for us unfortunately. We had fun, made the most of our visit and are grateful we came here but for the kind of more luxurious travel we typically enjoy it just didn’t work for us.

Kim and her staff is doing an excellent job With the “anything is possible “ attitude. The rum punch is the best by Nicole at the bar and the food is good. The breakfast is a little repetitive and can do with some changes especially local cuisine. The beach is clean and clear the ocean front room is worth the upgrades. Out of the hotel the locals are very polite and accommodating. I will surely come again.

Beautiful location and hotel but a few things let the hotel down: Positives: - Lovely rooms - Sea was amazing - Nice food - Great drinks selection - Nice spa area Negatives: - Despite 80% of the staff being really nice, there were 20% that really dampened the stay. These staff tended to be the ones behind the bar, who didn't make you feel welcome, or like ordering another drink. - The evening entertainment was awful. The entertainers/singers really didn't fit the mood. I doubt many people going to Barbados want power ballads badly sang at 9pm. - The evening as a whole was really poor. The lights in the main area are far too bright so don't make you want to stay. Unlike the rest of the Elegant hotels on the island, there's only one bar which is inside. The layout of the main room created no atmosphere. The outside decking is lovely but no atmosphere at all due to no bar or music. The evening at Waves meant you were in bed by 9:30pm most nights.

Phenomenal. We've stayed at many hotels from luxury resorts to big brand name hotels and few, if any, compare to the level of service at Waves Hotel. After only a few days stay most of the staff members knew us and our baby by name and strived to make sure we had everything we needed at all times. The difference from what I've previously experienced at other places is that every staff member approaches their job with a great attitude and take genuine pleasure in treating the guests well - from the chefs (Cheryl) and servers to the managers (Kim, Tracy,)They were extremely accommodating of our 7-month old baby and made her and us smile every day! The views from the oceanfront rooms and restaurant are spectacular and the whole property is clean and kept covid-safe. The spa treatments were a great addition too. The main drawback is that the spa, Shiso restaurant and adults only pool are across the road on the other side of the property. Overall, I would highly recommend Waves if you are looking for a relaxing, and enjoyable resort in Barbados. Thanks again to Kim, Tracy B, Olivia, Valerie, Jennifer x2, Cheryl, and Ryan just to name a few!

An all-inclusive hotel. Waves is set on both sides of the main road, with the adult side not on the sea side. The spa side is the adult only side, this also has the Asian restaurant on this side. The menu is limited but good. Tasty food well cooked mostly. There is a swimming pool as well, I never used that pool, but the spa was ok and we had 3 complementary treatments. The maim side has reception at the front ,the staff are really nice, the main restaurant is here as well, it's a buffet breakfast and the birds make things interesting 😀. The breakfast is good the omelet lady is so funny and does a great omelet. The senior head chef Oliver is a nice chap and always helpful and informative. The lunch is also a buffet, but dinner is served to you with again a limited menu that you can usually find something you fancy. The rooms are all nice , well equipped but looks like it could use a refitting in next year or so. The addition of USB points would be great. The room staff were all so friendly, water is in each room and is VERY welcome after being in the sun. The beach is great and there is a waiter for the drinks. There are turtles just off the beach and the turtles have been laying eggs on the beach.... so cool. So we will be back. Photos are views from room 109

Visited recently and it was a lovely stay! The staff was warm and friendly, happy to tailor my visit and their services to my needs, the food was fantastic at all meals, and the spa was very skilled in massage and pedicures. I loved the intimacy and small size of this hotel, while still delivering a top notch experience.

Overall the experience is superb and very satisfactoryWe booked the hotel together will air ticket. Everything is included except the transportation from the airport to and from hotel. You can call taxi easily and the price is about 47 USD each way. The local taxi service is nice and pleasant and the local taxi driver like to leave the widow open for fresh air, it may take a little bit before you get used to it if you like AC all the time. The service at the hotel from the front desk to the room cleaning service lady to the beach service guys and all of the restaurant service people are extremely nice. The general manger Kim is very polite and she introduced herself to all of us personally and make you feels at home. We had two room units and one upper stair and one down stairs, my family love it. If you have seniors with mobility difficulty, you may just want to have the rooms on one level. They have two major restaurants one coffee shop on site, you also have to choice to dine at other restaurants at the sister Hotels not too far away. They have water taxi free for you for certain hours. All of the restaurants open to outside and no AC provided. Again you will get used to it very quickly and enjoyed The beach is clean and calm, I enjoyed both morning and afternoon time on the beach. We experienced the tubing which is exciting. There are some birds and chicken around which make it feeling closer to the nature. You do need to be prepared with mosquito off, even though it is not too bad. Also when you cross the street to the Shiso restaurant and SPA, be extra careful with the traffic.

Remarkable hotel. Superb service. Excellent meals. Comfortable rooms. There are two pools and a sauna. A delightful tea cafe. A large open deck to have meals and occasional yoga classes. Enjoy the beach with a lovely little beach library. They have achieved excellence in everything.

This is an outstanding hotel! Kim and her team did everything they could to make our engagement so special, and I am so grateful! The food is better than any all inclusive I have ever stayed in, the hotel is spotlessly clean, the beach is clean (seaweed free) and the water is crystal clear. The spa experiences were excellent and it was lovely having all watersports included. Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

Where do I begin.. the staff, the staff were absolutely awesome and very professional.we wanted for nothing for our entire stay! I could sit and name them individually but there is no need as to be fair everyone from the cleaners through to the management where on point and made sure everything was perfect for us. Now I am a foodie.. I LOVE my food probably more than I should and I can genuinely say I have no complaints about any of the food we was served, be it the buffet breakfast that had everything you could want through to the cakes and snacks available throughout the day from the "cafe". The beach.. the beach and all the waters ports on offer were awesome! I couldn't do the water skiing because of an elbow injury but I done everything else on offer and thoroughly enjoyed it all. The staff were patient and taught you what to do on the various equipment from hobbycat to the kayaking. We snorkeled with turtles and rays and over shipwrecks with a tour provided by the hotel and it was epic! Just overall I couldn't praise them enough. Will definitely be looking to go again!

This is our favourite holiday - we’ve been 3 times and booked again for this year. The food is amazing for an all inclusive - the Japanese restaurant is especially excellent. The staff are amazing- the best we’ve ever encountered, everyone is so friendly and helpful. The beach is incredible and the views from the rooms is to die for. The inclusive water sports are also excellent and a great way to entertain our three children, even though they are completely satisfied just swimming in the stunning sea. Can’t recommend this hotel enough, for what you are getting I think it’s a great value all inclusive. Every year we come we see the same people returning too which is nice to see!!

Great hotel but you have to cross the road to reach the Asian restaurant and the big pool and some of the rooms, plus that area is 17+

Incredible hotel, with really friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful beach below the hotel with watersports available on the beach and lifeguard on duty. The hotel has a coffee shop and 2 restaurants (Seascape and Shiso) on site as well as a spa. Very clean hotel, spacious rooms and lovely staff.

We went for our honeymoon in September 2021 and absolutely loved everything about this place, it was the perfect choice for a relaxing chilled out honeymoon. The food was amazing and having a mix between a la carte and buffet was really nice and both restaurant choices we really liked. Didn't have a bad meal the entire stay. We ate most lunches in the coffee shop which does really tasty toasted options. Breakfast was yummy, plenty to choose from and really great crispy bacon. Drinks were great, lovely cocktails, a lot were on the sour rather than sweet side but that suited me just fine!! If you didn't want cocktails though there were plenty of other drinks to choose from as well Out room was stunning, we had a split level ocean view room and seriously the views were out of this world. Can't beat waking up each morning to look out at that wonderful blue ocean. Bed was huge and very comfy and the room was absolutely silent. Couldn't hear another soul which was perfect!! Spent most of our time down by the sea, and a couple of days by the adults only pool. Wasn't too keen on the smaller family pool though which often was totally empty. Staff down on the beach were lovely, would bring you drinks, frozen grapes, ice lollies and even mist you with water to cool you down!! Never had a problem getting a sun lounger during the whole 9 days but I can imagine during peak season it could possibly fill up. We had forgotten our sea shoes but didn't actually need them as could walk into the sea easily. Sea was warm and clear, and so so beautiful. Lovely being able to look down and see the fishes Staff at reception (and throughout the hotel) were really friendly all the time and went out of their way to help, and arrange trips etc. We did take the boat to one of the sister hotels but then quickly came back as we soon realised waves was by far the nicest (or at least suited us the best) so we walked back along the beach which only took about 20 mins. We used our spa vouchers towards the end of our stay and had the most amazing three back to back spa treatments. Very high praise to the staff there as it was seriously lovely so make sure you book your treatments in early so you don't miss out as they are quite busy but definitely worth it.

This was an exceptional honeymoon experience. The staff are all so wonderful words cannot explain how sweet they are. Management and front desk attended to our every need. The food was on point everything taste good. Rooms were clean and sanitized well. Linen towels everything we needed were at our finger tips. Entertainment was also great and the bar. I endorse all inclusive at Waves hotel and spa. A must return. To all the staff we appreciate you. From the Harpers

A smallish all inclusive hotel. Refurbished within the last couple of years I understand. Very welcoming staff. Great location on a pristine beach. Good quality food, drinks, snacks. The hotel is split across the main west coast road with an adults only pool & spa away from the beach. So much better than their sister hotel Turtle Beach near St Lawrence Gap

My wife and I went here for our honeymoon and it was the best choice we’ve made. The welcome by the staff was friendly and made you feel at home. I want to say thank you to Taminta and Subrina and the rest of the staff members during our visit not forgetting the security guard outside who was helpful, everyone was always smiling and did a great deal making you feel comfortable. There’s so much more I want to say, but I have to end with visit this resort you will not regret it and the bus driver is hilarious with his humorous jokes.

We had a lovely weeks stay here at the Waves. Didn’t want to leave! Such a wonderful small boutique style hotel right on the beach. The ocean view from the room was just WOW. The staff were all so lovely and helpful. Food was lovely with lots of choice. We ate at the Asian restaurant one night, tasty food but could do with some background music so that there is some atmosphere over there. We used the spa for treatments which were all very lovely. Room kept clean daily by the lovely Mary. We were all inclusive but didn’t really make the most of it as we visited lots of other places during our time in Barbados, but the service and food and drink we received were great. The little coffee shop on site is lovely and handy too. A few highly recommend places to try; QP Bistro, Tides, La cabanna, The Cat and the fiddle catamaran, flower cave (north of island). Thanks again for a lovely stay. X

Really lovely staff and ocean view. It’s fine for a short stay. However my massage was awful. My therapist was on her phone doing single handed movements with a light pressure. I didn’t mention that I’m a therapist and manage a spa but if she was my therapist I would have got rid. My boyfriend had a really good massage Really let’s down the spa team.

This "Boutique-ish" style resort was as advertised in beautiful Barbados. Service was well above par made extra special by an extremely attentive staff. There was nothing they would not do to enhance our stay. It was amazing how they got to know their guests individually. Menus altered from buffet to al-a-carte dining and the food was always delicious. Common spaces were tasteful, functional, and clean. Rooms were clean, appropriately furnished, but showing a little age. With Marriott now assuming control, would expect upgraded refurbishments soon. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly return. We would recommend this resort for a comfortable, relaxing, and enjoyable vacation.

Overall an OK experience. The hotel has nice staffs and good facilities. The room is very clean and nicely decorated. The beach is really nice. The pools are nice. Now here are the negatives: Food: Really really subpar. The selection, quality and quantity is really poor. We had to eat out most of the time to not deal with hotel foods. Activities: The nightly activities end at 10:30 and they usually involve loud music. If you want to rest early or if you are a early sleeper. Good luck. Biggest gripe: During the last two days of my stay, I have had noise problems. I got waken up at 2:30 AM two nights in a row due to loud talking and yelling on the patio. Also loud bassy music was playing well after midnight on the last day of my stay. I was not sure it was guests or staffs but why it was allowed is beyond my knowledge. Think twice before booking this hotel if you are looking for good food or if you want a relaxing experience. You might be disappointed.

This is not a great hotel but the staff really made a difference! I would say the hotel is more a 3* but the staff are incredible and all so friendly and helpful they really make a difference - the food was very average and the sea view rooms are adequate with amazing views but best 4* but be aware the street view rooms are smelly and 3* tops!! This is an all inclusive but definetly not luxury - the beach is great at this hotel and the complimentary spa treatment was excellent - but food was really mediocre and would not pay to eat there apart from the Asian restaurant which was actually very good.

The hotel is a nice all inclusive option. The rooms are modern and offer a great beach view. However there is almost no parking available and limited on site restaurant options.

Unsafe - 210 USD went missing from beach bag during stay. Two separate onsite general managers were informed immediately. Both shared no care/concern. My wife and I felt very uncomfortable afterwards. Once management became aware of this review, we actually got locked out of our room for 3 hrs. as a retaliatory act. Rooms dated, many resort workers were rude, slow. Finally, food was just okay. Not high quality, low variety.

I have had friends staying here since 2012 beautiful place not to large with friendly staff. However a few days back the Front of house security staff (female) on this occasion may have easily been mistaken for a pitbull on a chain. Unwelcoming push up face confrontational and aggressive and no manners. Clearly has not been trained to deal with humans.

A great wellness retreat. This hotel really focuses on you and gives you everything you need for your wellness journey. If you want to eat well and exercise they got you covered. If you want to relax and enjoy yourself a little then they will make it happen.

Huge dissatisfied. There are 2 pools. Both have ZERO view of the beautiful ocean. The lunch buffet was awful. The room was really nice. However the FRONT DESK was the worst I’ve ever dealt with. I stay in Marriotts allll the time and I was shocked how rude and disorganized they were. The lady was trying to charge me a extra $175 for having my wife when I proved to her on the spot she was wrong. Then she lied to us and said housekeeping was cleaning our room and it would be any minute. 3 hours later we were still sitting waiting. It doesn’t take a hour to clean a small room, never mind 3. She did not reflect the Marriott standard I’m used too. Definitely better resorts in Barbados to stay.

Not excited at all! Not all the rooms have see views and I was given a room facing the main road. Not able to sleep at all at night because of the noise. When I asked to change room I was told I needed to pay extra for see view and not noise, which I did. My new room was nice. Not many choices at the buffet and also, some of the ladies working there and the reception were not always happy to assist you. The beach small, rough some days and not that spectacular.

Great location and very quiet. If you are looking for a relaxing place with not alot of kids this is the place to be. Rooms are very nice and well maintained. You have to let the water warm up for the shower but there is lots of water pressure. 2 pools. The back pool (across) the road is surrounded by trees and vegetation so it's very peaceful. It's an adult only pool. It's not a large pool, but you can swim. There is a bar on this side of the hotel but it's not a swim up bar. We stayed on this side of the hotel and had to cross the street to get to the other part of the hotel and the beach. 2 minute walk, just be careful crossing the road. The drivers are very fast. They do stop if they see you at the crosswalk. The staff are excellent, friendly, helpful always greeted us with a hello and a smile. They remember who we were from the minute we got there. Bartenders remembered our regular orders and the chef was VERY accommodating to my picky dietary needs (vegan and palm oil free). Food was excellent and my husband (who is a meat and fish eater), had far to many choices and loved everything he tried. Snorkeling was good off the beach. The coral is dead, but there is still a variety of fish to see...everything from the small colourful ones, to the larger puffer fish and flounders. We even saw a white eel and a huge school of fish swam around us. You can walk on the beach a long way and the other 2 hotels (in this chain) are accessible by walking or the water taxi (free). We took a tour of the north part of the island using one of the hotel taxis. He took us to the wildlife rescue, folkstone marine museum and then a drive on the east side of the island. $45 US/hr and we were gone for 3 hrs. Great way to see the island. We had a complimentary spa service. I chose the scalp massage and facial. Rhea was amazing and I did fall asleep several times during the 1hr session. Highly recommend it. If you are looking for a place to relax by the beach or pool with not alot of people, then this is it. We don't do the night life, so I have no idea what that was like, but I did see some musicians in the main part of the hotel by the beach in the evenings. Loved our stay.

We stayed here for a week in November 2022. The hotel staff were beyond helpful and welcoming. The hotel is comfortable and well appointed, the room had good air con, and was really clean. I loved the coffee pod machine! The waterfront staff, David, Mali, Felix and Nick were brilliant, fun and incredibly helpful. Jakobi and Tanya served us drinks on the beach with a smile and were great fun too. The spa was very relaxing and the staff there were great. Mark the mixologist is a wizard with the cocktails and is a very wise man. Front of house staff were excellent, they seemed to know what I wanted before I did! Cheryl cooked us breakfast and made us laugh every day. I can't name all the staff, but they were all excellent. A word of warning however, be careful when mixing rum punch and karaoke! We would definitely go back. Thank you too everyone for a brilliant holiday. Hamish and Lou x

This hotel was a fantastic find. The food at both restaurants has been great. The beach is clean. More importantly, there is never any overcrowding at the beach. We were always able to find a set of chairs without concern. The swimming pool is beautiful. The really cool thing about this hotel is it is part of the elegant hotels groups so you are able to go to the other hotels up the coast for the day and eat at them. When it came to setting up excursions it was so easy. The concierge, Ryesha, and front desk were very helpful. We decided to rent a car for the day and the front desk had the car delivered to the hotel for us and was going to pick it up for us the next day. Very convenient. The rooms are maintained very meticulously. The hotel is truly all inclusive. Most all inclusive don’t include the beach activities but here we were able to go tubing, water skiing and sailing for free. The only chargeable thing was the jet skiing but that’s because it’s not through the hotel. Miss Jackie and Tamisha at the front desk are very kind and attentive and her staff have been friendly and helpful. All the guests here are very friendly as well. The food in both restaurants was great every night. Miss Jennifer and Sabrina checked in on us all the time even when we weren’t sitting at their tables. We also got vouchers for the spa which out a nice touch to the end of the trip. We used it for a back massage and facial. Aimira did a great job with the facial. Never had one before. The massages from Cathy Ann were great and relaxing.

Great resort with delicious food and caring staff. Came here for 3 nights and so far the resort has been great. Pool area was clean and plenty of towels to use. The servers came often to check to see if we needed anything from food to drink. I love the random frozen grapes they brought us. They were nice and refreshing. Beach is on the smaller side but kept clean and plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Staff came to see if you want any drinks and overall enjoyable beach experience. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner is at their seascape restaurant which is close to reception. Great vibes and food is very delicious. Again staff has been great here and we were also able to talk to the GM - Kim who made sure to check on us and our experience. Even live music was fun and created a great vacation atmosphere. Would definitely recommend this place. PS: softest sand ever !

The hotel is definitely not 4 stars, the rooms are old and have weird smell. The beach is nice, staff was friendly but condition of the room was just a deal breaker. The quality of food was below average. Not bad for a 1 night stay while you wait for your cruise
