We have recently spent a 10 night stay at this hotel for our honeymoon. So having it all inclusive elevated the stresses of having to budget each day or decide where we were going to eat. As the hotel is part of a chain we had the chance to eat at a couple of other places these being the Treasure Beach, Crystal Cove & the Waves (Thai restaurant), all offering plenty of different choices. You can get these hotels in a variety of ways, short / long walks, free water taxi, yellow or blues buses & taxis. The Tamarind hotel food choices are good themselves, in the morning there is a large buffet all served safely by the kitchen staff, with occasional food changes day to day. I would definitely go for the omelette’s made by the lovely Ether, she definitely gives you the Bajen local vide. On the evening there is the occasional themed evening & À la cart menu on the evening. Other things to do is the complimentary water sports on the beach, located from the Yellow Fin hut, the guys there offer a variety of choices, my personal favourite being the water ski, in which they are very accommodating for beginners. At the hotel there are a choice of three pools all with good sun light & shaded places, one of them being a adult pool. My final compliment would be to the wonderful Alicia on the reception, in fact the main receptionist during the day. What she doesn’t know, isn’t worth knowing, she is calm patient & there to help with all you’re needs.

Beautiful hotel with a stunning location, just wow. The food was adequate and sometimes amazing. Breakfast buffet style, but do go and see Ether on the egg station, but if you order an omelette, don't ask for cheese until last, you've been warned. Lunch the sane buffet style unless you order food from the bar, but expect a slow delivery. Evening meal, sometimes off a menu other times buffet, it seems to depend on how they feel that day. Also, book your restaurant times asap for your evening meal. The beach was small but adequate, but the pool was more than enough for me. I do wish they had poolside waiters, but considering our experience with the hospitality staff, it may have been a blessing in disguise. The rooms are dated, but they suit the surroundings and are cleaned to a high standard. If you have a chance eat at the restaurant next door. It's included in your stay, but book it as soon as you arrive, the views are stunning. Unfortunately, waitresses and bar Staff were the only things that let this place down, 90% of them that is, the rest couldn't do enough for you. It may be that they had a bad week, but either way, it put a downer on our holiday.

I had the most memorable and brilliant stay with my whole family. I am suprised to see negative reviews, although the rooms are slightly dated they feel authentic and are clean and well equipped. The rest of the hotel is perfect, the location blew me away and is situated on the most stunning beach. There is a choice of pools and it all feels very spacious and peaceful. The food offered traditional Bajan options alongside other dishes which felt very special and different to other all inclusive hotels. The bar was very well stocked and brilliant cocktails. All of the staff were so attentive, polite and kind - I cannot fault the wonderful people of Barbados.

Very poor and under maintained venue. Issues on our stay included, door locks failing (couldn't get into room), safe door missing!, rain running into the room and through electric spotlights, collapsed beach access cordoned off , blocked toilet, TV not working, rude and poor waitress staff, food of an average standard (bones in lamb stew, very small portions, ribs full of fat, waiting over two hours for main course to be delivered, coffee maker missing (and when we did get one it leaked). Other guest complained their AC didn't work. One night there was sick on the stairs, staff said no one was available to clean up and they left it! Do not book this hotel. It is meant to be a Marriott hotel, but standards are way short on a holiday that cost us thousands of pounds.

Stayed / staying here two weeks. It’s a nice hotel, staff are pleasant but the last few days have been tainted by a theft of money from my room. They have a live band that plays most nights - that goes late into the night, which though not a bad thing it’s not conducive if you want an early night as the music passes through the room. Flies buzz around the food during breakfast and lunch but guess that’s to be expected? Staff are amazing tho!

I didn't really like this place. It's expensive, but not worth it. There's a $20 charge for room service, bit It's an all-inclusive, so I'm so confused about this. I don't feel I got value for the price of the stay. The lady at dinner was super nice! She made sure I chose something nice and even went above and beyond by bringing it up when she called, said it was ready for me to pickup and I took my own sweet time to go get it. Also, didn't feel like a Marriott Gold member. There was a bit of paper in the room, but that's it. Loved the robe though. Staff is really great. Everyone I encountered is top notch and really want to ensure you had an amazing time. Thanks for the umbrella, it helped as it poured while I was there.

We loved it here. It has a great location on the East Coast. The facilities are excellent and whether it's the front desk, the restaurant, the bar or the beach front, the wonderful smiling staff give it a very relaxed and welcoming vibe. The restaurant and food are very good. It may not be everyone's cup of tea. Things sometimes take a while to happen and not everything is brand new. You're in Barbados and that is part of the charm. If you want everything shiny, a beach that is manicured every morning, and instant service without the charm, go to Dubai. This is our fifth trip to Barbados and our fifth different hotel. It's the best of the bunch. We'll definitely be back. Thank you everyone at Tamarind!!

A fantastic hotel to stay at. Super friendly staff beautiful weather. We did a couple of trips Mount Gay Rum Distillery & Island Safari....well worth it. Last day we had a driver Owen for 4½hrs & he took us all over the island to places we wanted to go & others that he knew we'd like....awesome day, awesome holiday....we will be back 😊🍸

Enjoyed my short stay at the resort. Not a brand new resort by any means but reasonably kept with pleasant staff. Dinner options were limited but food served was tasted. Only real negative was on checkout was charged twice for the stay and this error took near a week for Tamarind/Elegant Hotels to refund my card.

Although it's our 3rd visit and the location is lovely found the actual hotel a bit dated ... Great staff and great food kind of make up for this From the look of things they are having a room update . 1st time we've been since it became all inclusive..... an eclectic clientèle to say the least

We stayed here for four nights and we really enjoyed our stay! Thanks so much to the staff who made it really special. Chris at the bar was awesome, great drinks and hospitality. The food was on the whole great for an all inclusive. Lots of staff, we never waited for anything. Surprising to have great vegetarian sushi! We did book a few extras like the turtle swim. Well worth it as the guys who organised it were awesome and could tell they really cared about the turtles unlike some of the other (very chaotic!) tours we saw out there. Beach was beautiful and not very busy. Thanks to the staff again. Hope we get to come back soon!

The rooms are very dated for the price. This is a 3 star hotel. Crome was peeling, sinks had cracks, pillows were lumpy. You will find better value for money elsewhere. Breakfast and lunch options were limited. Dinner was tasty. Service was okay. Beach is nice. Do not pay more than $300 per night all inclusive. Also no Bonvoy points if booked by a 3rd party.

Loved this hotel. A bit dated but heard it’s going to be refurbished. Kudos to Stefon Markham and Nyasha Williams. Will be there again in January.

The property is dated but suits the location. Amazing staff, so friendly! Amazing beach and for us plenty of sunbeds. Ignore all negative reviews. Book the Italian next door even if you book late reception does their best to accomodate. Local bus stop right outside, friendly locals. Beaware of smoking outside patio, and make sure you are well away from the room. They tried to charge us as we had our cigerette packet on patio. We challenged and reception happily dealt with the removal of charge. 5 star catamaren cruise is a must. We had an amazing family time!

Had a great stay at Tamarind by Elegant, yip there's a few cracks in the service as well as the building itself. But on the whole we had a very enjoyable stay and that's the most important factor. Fabulous location, some really really nice staff, had a good laugh with both pool bars staff. A major plus is the dine around, we tried Positano and Waves by Elegant, the free water taxi is a huge plus point also, We stayed at the House by Elegant also, doing this makes the holiday very enjoyable. Go have fun, enjoy the brilliant location, soak up the fabulous weather.

Lovely! Really friendly and attentive staff. Was really quiet when we were there but started to fill up with families with young noisy kids as Easter approached. Great location right on the beach, and decent food. The water taxi to the 3 other hotels in the group was handy for a change of scenery. Taxis are really expensive - as is everything else! Duty free on gifts though bring prices down to UK levels. Recommended

Loved it here. Good value. Nice location, great beach. Pools and loungers welcoming. Cocktails great. Food was good, plenty of choice at buffet and a la carte. Would've liked more local Bajan cuisine though. Ocean view junior suite is spacious, comfy, nice balcony. Bed comfy and big but high to climb into, staff were great, provided extra towels on request for our 'couple time' - well, it is a romantic location!! Bathroom good, great rainfall shower and nice toiletries. Sure it's not a flash 5 star place, but for the money it's fine. Pay 3 times more if you want flash.

Food has been excellent, staff can’t do enough for you.. a few teething problems but everything rectified speedily and efficiently.. the beach has some rocky areas but you can find the soft sandy entrances ..

This is a rare time I have felt compelled to write a review. I am Canadian, and I'm very easy going about most things, and I tip well. I guess my real frustration is with the rating here. ... with the experience I had, along with the two other families we traveled with also had, there is no way in any rating system where this "resort" should be considered a 4 star... it would be 2 stars at best. The good: The grounds are nice, maybe 3.5 stars. pools were clean and well kept, beach was nice enough and clean. The check-in staff were nice and most of the male staff were also pleasant. The bad: A majority of the female staff walked around with an angry and cold disposition as if they didn't want to be there, be bothered, or want to help, not even a smile. In particular, the check-in attendant for breakfast was extremely rude. The buffet was pretty brutal, you can't walk in and sit down, you have to wait to be seated. They ran out of plates all the time, the food was often cold, and it was the same thing every day. To top it all off the buffet set up was in, what felt like, a dingy back room. The "A la Cart menu" is truly disappointing as it has so few options. Unlike most all-inclusive, I have been to it seemed like food wasn't easy to come across here. Lunch didn't start until 12:30pm (not ideal with toddlers or flight schedules) and snacks were pretty much non-existent. The room. Nowhere even close to 4 stars. I have stayed in nicer motels, seriously. TV didn't work half the time (didn't really matter, since we are there for the beach). The countertop had a piece broken off, there was obvious evidence of severe water damage in the room, the shower head was a shoulder height (I'm 5'11") , locks were broken, the closet was like a 60yr old apartment kitchen, knows just fell off things, patio furniture had holes in it.... just hugely disappointing considering we upgraded to a beachfront unit and paid extra... We ended up going to Crystal Cove and other affiliated restaurants, which were much better and filled with staff that was very pleasant for the most part. Transportation is crazy expensive especially when arranged through the hotels. be aware. $20 USD for a 5 min drive to a sister resort...(why is there no free shuttle for what they all charge to stay!?!) All in all the beach was great, but almost everything else was 2-star at best. Very disappointing. Don't believe the pictures they post.

We arrived around 5pm and were told our room wasn’t ready. Really? By 7pm it still wasn’t. Beginning to smell a rat. Offered a temporary “ upgrade” . In the dark , the journey to the room seemed just about ok although the broken doors , covered archways did seem odd. We had been warned the sea wall was being repaired and we might experience some noise. Morning came and through the dirty curtains we saw an enormous excavator ! Packing our bags , expecting to go to our original room , we made our way to reception , happy to reject the upgrade. No such luck, deadlines came and went until my new bride, yes , this is our honeymoon, said I’m fed up. We demanded a room ( it was now 3 pm of the second day of our honeymoon) and, miraculously, one was available. The hotel is not fit for purpose. It’s not the current building works. Its the whole package. It’s tired , dilapidated, dangerous in places and , quite frankly, being held together by the wonderful staff who are trying their best under what must be incredibly difficult circumstances. Please don’t believe Virgin, TUI or any other tour operator who will still sell you the dream that this hotel is a 4 star oasis on this wonderful island. It is not. Marriott should be ashamed- they own it. Richard Branson should be made aware- he, definitely, would not stay here!! My bride says I’m being polite !

The staff was amazing especially the dining room. Lasaunta and Shantel are my favorite girls. The Barmen were also great.

We had a fantastic week staying here! The watersports team are fantastic - had great fun with the included wakeboarding! The food is great, a la carte menu which changes daily for the evening meals. The staff are super friendly. (In spite of being bombarded with ridiculous complaints) Snorkelling in the reef just off the beach is amazing! A lot of the negative reviews seem to share opinions of the moans we heard from people who had either done no research or had completely unrealistic demands; “I want a drink in my hand before I know I want a drink” ?? Go to the bar! Or “We’re bored here” - but haven’t tried the watersports or snorkelling having been there a week!

This is a nice resort and their affiliated resorts were apart of the all inclusive benefits. Had a great time with my HS class 30th reunion. The only negative is the location doesn't have an elevator and my room was on the 3rd floor.

I visited the Tamarind August 2021, the hotel and grounds are a 3☆ at best, and that's being generous. The food was dreadful, service overall was surly, sometimes outright rude. Rooms are dated but a great size, sofa bed uncomfortable, bathroom more than adequate. I've stayed on the island before and love it, but definitely would NOT go back to this hotel. Security should do more about the beach vendors harrassing you while you are still on the hotel grounds, the vendors are relentless and sometimes aggressive. The hotel's only saving grace is the male bar staff, they should be running the place, fantastic service, always a smile and time to chat, special shout to Chris who is amazing. The beach would be great if it weren't for the constant harassment by the vendors. Can't wait to go back to the beautiful island in January, this time staying at a 5☆ on the South Coast for the same price!

Hotel staff were very polite and helpful. We had a sea-front one bed suite which was great. It consisted of a separate bedroom with 2 built-in closets, an en-suite large bathroom with double sink, a TV and double doors onto balcony. Living room consisted of sofa, single bed, built in wardrobe, large TV, coffee machine and large shower room and double doors opening out onto balcony. Breakfast was good with lots of options, lunch menu did not have many options and was the same during our 10 day stay. Enjoyed dinner especially the themed nights as well as the buffet dinners. Available drink options from the bars was very good. Three pools, one of which was adult only, were adequate. Cleanliness/hygiene/Covid protocols were faultless. The only thing that dampened our stay was the arrival 3 days before we left of a large group of Americans. They would walk into the dining room without disinfecting their hands, and had to constantly be told by hotel staff to wear their masks. They were loud and boisterous, which meant whenever they were in one of the pools other guests would leave. They drank bottles of beer (bought in from outside the hotel) and smoked in the pool. They would also appropriate sun loungers with towels on if you left to go to the bar/toilet or restaurant for lunch. One “gentleman” constantly cleared his throat and then spat into the shrubbery. They partied one night around the adult pool and left broken glass strewn around it. They also smoked weed, and the smell permeated the rooms of guests which opened onto the pool.

Excellent location, extremely friendly staff. Food was of very good quality buffet style with occasional waiter events. New Year was amazing! All inclusive was superb.
