PROs:
on
St
Lawrence
Gap
a
definite
plus
for
those
who
want
to
be
on
the
lively
side
of
the
island
within
walking
distance
of
many
restaurants
and
bars;
pretty
reasonable
(1
bed/1
bath
$168usd/nite
in
low
season
-
$225/nite
in
high
season)
for
a
better
than
average
newer
building
whereas
many
go
for
$250usd
low
season
-$500/nite
high
season
1bed/1
bath
CONs:
pool
is
under
a
balcony,
pretty
useless
no
one
uses
it;
if
you
get
a
unit
near
the
back
(close
to
the
street)
you
WILL
be
awake
MOST
nights
from
blaring
music
from
bars
(Scoopies
and
Jazz)
next
door;
property
has
public
access
to
beach
right
next
to
it,
as
well
as
2
cheap
hotels
(Four
Aces
&
Salt
Ash
...
$55/nite)
and
higher
end
Ocean
2
...
ALL
of
those
guests
want
the
beach
in
front
of
WhiteSands
because
of
the
shade
from
the
palm
trees
so
you
have
to
scramble
to
get
a
spot
to
put
the
WS
loungers
out
with
towels
etc
or
you
won't
get
any
spot
on
the
beach
which
is
narrow
with
waves
crashing
by
noon.
People
drag
chairs
from
the
cheap
hotels
and
people
off
the
streets
change
right
in
front
of
you.
Whitesands
needs
to
put
chairs
out
and
say
'FOR
WHITESANDS
GUESTS'
.
The
unit
we
had
was
very
sparse
-
functional
but
no
decor,
bad
TV
reception
and
a
bad
couch
-
good
bed
though.
For
the
same
price
on
the
west
side
we
found
luxurious
accommodations
with
huge
pool,
beach
privileges
at
a
lovely
higher
end
hotel.
We
won't
be
back
to
WhiteSands
but
some
may
like
it.
I'd
rather
pay
more
at
Sapphire
or
Southern
Palms
and
not
deal
with
the
hassles
but
the
price
(some
SOME
units
-
not
most)
reflects
the
shortcomings.
