Wednesday
I
had
a
tonsillectomy
at
this
hospital.
The
fact
I
am
unharmed
is
truly
a
blessing.
I
woke
up
from
surgery
in
a
boiling
hot
room
in
severe
pain.
I
immediately
began
to
cry
as
the
pain
from
my
throat
was
more
than
I
could
bare.
One
of
the
nurses
began
to
scold
me
and
complain
that
I
was
too
old
to
cry
and
started
to
mock
me.
I
cried
silently
for
quite
some
time
and
then
later
they
gave
me
some
pain
meds
and
took
me
to
my
room.
From
there
the
situation
only
got
worse.
An
incredibly
unkind
older
nurse
came
in
and
started
speaking
to
me,
directly
ignoring
my
husband
who
kept
trying
to
speak
on
my
behalf.
It
had
not
even
been
2
hours
since
I
awoken
and
I
was
in
immense
pain.
Also,
essentially
EVERY
medical
journal
I
had
read
prior
to
surgery
recommended
I
not
try
to
speak
if
it
hurts
to
do
so
after
this
surgery.
I
reported
her
to
a
different
nurse
and
did
not
see
her
again
after.
I
was
brought
a
lunch
of
rice
and
bone
in
chicken,
two
things
I
was
not
supposed
to
eat.
There
was
a
small
cup
of
soup
so
I
drank
that.
Dinner
was
bread
and
bone
in
chicken,
again
things
I
could
not
eat.
I
tried
to
eat
the
bread
which
caused
so
much
pain
I
nearly
started
crying
again.
Later
in
the
evening
a
kind
nurse
was
able
to
call
a
friend
to
bring
me
soup
from
outside
the
hospital
as
at
this
point
I
was
incredibly
hungry
and
was
told
I
could
not
have
pain
meds
without
food.
In
essence
I
went
the
entire
first
day
without
food
because
the
hospital
kitchen
was
not
prepared
to
serve
someone
who
had
had
throat
surgery.
Also,
they
kept
skipping
and
pushing
back
when
I
would
receive
pain
meds,
so
I
spent
the
majority
of
the
first
day
in
immense
pain,
being
regularly
mocked
by
nursing
staff
for
apparently
not
handling
throat
surgery
and
medical
neglect
better.
My
doctor
did
not
check
in
on
me
until
the
following
morning,
where
he
confirmed
I
should
be
eating
a
liquid
diet.
I
pointed
out
that
they
had
not
served
me
any
of
the
foods
he
and
professionals
online
recommended
I
eat.
He
simply
said
he
would
speak
to
them
about
it,
handed
me
my
prescription
and
I
did
not
see
him
again
for
the
rest
of
my
stay.
Breakfast
was
bread
with
oranges
and
deli
meat,
again
food
that
I
could
not
eat.
I
do
not
say
this
just
because
of
the
pain
but
quite
literally
every
medical
journal
and
the
doctor
himself
did
not
recommend
anything
but
liquid
foods
this
early,
he
even
made
sure
to
confirm
I
had
ensure
at
home
or
would
be
buying
some.
I
was
not
supposed
to
eat
ANYTHING
with
bones
or
too
solid
for
almost
2
weeks.
I
forced
the
food
down
as
they
made
it
clear
they
would
not
release
me
until
I
ate
some
of
it.
Also,
after
many
people
messing
with
it
the
iv
stopped
working
and
started
filling
up
my
hand
with
liquid
til
it
hurt.
It
took
me
2
hours
to
get
someone
to
remove
it
after
a
giant
lump
had
formed.
There
is
still
a
lump
of
fluid
in
my
hand
2
days
later.
I
cannot
imagine
bringing
someone
I
care
about
to
this
hospital.
I
will
be
looking
into
reporting
this
hospital
as
they
have
no
right
to
mock
people,
especially
straight
out
of
surgery
and
to
neglect
their
care
by
literally
serving
them
food
that
could
damage
the
area
of
operation
and
neglecting
to
give
me
pain
medication
in
a
timely
manner.
The
bedside
manner
and
quality
of
care
offered
here
is
atrocious
and
honestly
medically
negligent.
I
could
have
taken
better
care
of
myself
at
home
than
whatever
it
is
they
were
trying
to
do
there.
Of
all
the
nurses
I
saw,
2
showed
me
any
kindness.
Thank
you
Nadiya
and
Anastasia.
