An unassuming area of the city that could easily be missed. Located just over the bridge from Broad Street and leads to the Independance arch. Nice views of the city !

Lovely place to relax and enjoy the scenery. You can sit and enjoy the lovely music from the nearby lounge and take photos of the decorated Christmas trees. A romantic place to spend an evening.

Nice place in front of waterfront to relax and chill. During the independence celebration in the month of November, the park would be lighted up in gold and blue - the national colors of Barbados. It's really calming to take a slow stroll, enjoying the sight of the parked boats along the waterfront.

Nice area in Bridgetown Barbados. Otherwise the town appears run down. However, the people are so friendly and a good conversation can be had with anyone who has the time and the inclination to chat to you. This is most people. Reggae buses can be had from almost anywhere on the west coast to take you into Bridgetown. The fare is Barbados $3.25 no matter where you are picked up. Hang on to your seat tho' as the going is rough and rapid. Great fun!

Well lit, great for an after dinner or relaxing stroll. Wouldn't recommend going too late or alone as it is a bit desolate. A number of homeless people and rodents are seen at times but they won't bother you.

We rested here during our christmas shopping, lovely view of the boats, there's a water fountain. Everything looked really pretty except for the garbages that were not too far away but nice nevertheless

Free wifi, great sitting area under beautiful trees and a beautiful view of the wharf with boats on the water. There's also a public restroom and lots of food options in walking distance.

Sadly lots of homeless people seem to congregate here. As a result quite a lot of rubbish strewn about which is a shame for a place that is celebrating independence.

Barbados Independece Square is now a skid row. So disappointing to see the many homeless there turning the Square into a squalor residence. Washing in the fountains hanging out to dry on the rails. Leaving the containers they eat from all over the place. Just disgusting to see humans so neglected as they are our family and now we just turn a blind eye and call them homeless as if they have no name. Independence square makes me angry and sad at the same time at the state of how we have let our fellow humans become because of a lack of intervention structures. The growing numbers of homeless in independece square is not a good reflection on us Barbados.

Very pretty place around the bridge. You can see turtles in the water. They are getting ready for the independence festivities with stalls, marques and bands but even without this worth a visit. Some beautiful buildings too.

Very beautiful and clean area. The water fountain is beautiful as well. Tons of places to sit and enjoy. The water where the boats are at is beautiful. There is a statue of The Right Excellent Errol Walton Barrow there as well.
