The Sandy Crest Medical Centre does have very competent and professional staff. I was pleased with the efficient diagnosis for an eye infection and I received a prescription which I filled and which worked well. The drops I received were in the quantity of 3 ml which is about amount in a teaspoon. After 5 days I ran out of the drops and asked for a second prescription to continue the treatment. I was charged 65BB for the writing of the prescription for the same treatment as the amount of the antibiotic drops was so small and was not sufficient to do the job. I felt that given the prescription was for the same diagnosis within 5 days that the fee to write the prescription should have been waived or I should have been given the opportunity to have 2 prescriptions for the diagnosis. at the time of the appointment. As a non medical person I would have not way of knowing the size of the container for the medicine. I was so disappointed in this interaction.

The facility is clean. The Staff are very friendly. I have no issue re the medical care. However the service is unbelievably slow. If it were being provided free - I would have no complaints. However the service provided is very expensive - which means I have different expectations that were not met.

You can imagine the trepidation going to an emergency care center on an island 1600 miles from home (U.S.), not knowing what to expect. The experience was wonderful! The Centre was spotless, Nurse Holly and Nurse Blackman were exceptional, Dr. Williams was kind, efficient, talented and had excellent bedside manner. All in all just the kind of care you would want under any circumstances. Our thanks and admiration go out to the entire team at Sandy Crest Medical Center, Bravo!

In June 2022 I was visiting from the US and I started getting flu symptoms, so I took two at home tests, which were negative, but after the 3rd day I decided to go to Sandy crest. I was seen by Nurse Trotman, and she performed the worst COVID test I ever had. This was the 1st one I ever took that actually caused bleeding and after-pain. The test showed I had COVID so I had to get a follow-up PCR test, which was pretty bad but not as bad as the 1st. After everything, I Informed the nurse that I gave the front desk my maiden name to match my Barbados ID and the name they had on file, but my passport was in my married name and she replied by shouting at me like a child, “why would you do that ?” and demanded an explanation. I have never paid to be treated so badly, especially while being sick. I felt so disheartened with the whole situation; no one deserves to be treated like that when they are sick. Then I had to pay an additional $110 BDS for the doctor to open the door to barely look at me and prescribe medication that didn’t work. I had to stop him to ask a question as he rushed out 2 minutes afterwards. This made the total cost of my visit $525 to be treated badly. The sad thing is, when I talked to the ministry of health, they took no issue with the name change and it was easily resolved. I used to go to Sandy Crest all the time when I lived on the island and when I visited, but this experience completely turned me off.

Disgustingly rude staff. We were forced to wait for 2 hours with a distressed and poorly 1 year old. Ended up leaving without seeing the doctor because we couldn’t wait any longer. Never encountered more unhelpful people.

Just want to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Lovell who was knowledgable, professional and showed true compassion for my mom who recently attended this wonderful facility. She and the entire staff were very helpful, caring and accommodating. I was very impressed with the care my mom received and would recommend Sandy Crest to anyone who needs urgent medical attention.

I fractured my toe whilst on holiday when I slipped on a painted set of steps in the hotel after it rained. The hotel sent me to Sandy Crest where I was seen reasonably quickly, given an x-ray and had my toe strapped. No complaints there. The treatment of my toe was ok, however it was like the person attached to the toe (me!) didn't exist. During the entire time I was there I was handed from one person to the next and literally no-one, from the checking -in person on the front desk, to the nurse and Dr made eye contact, smiled or even said 'hello'. The X-ray person handled my foot as though it was attached to a plastic doll and put me in really uncomfortable positions without any padding. She couldn't get me in and out quickly enough. The Dr was dreadful. No introduction or explanation of my injury and prognosis - she didn't even explain the medication for which she chucked a prescription into my hand. Everything had to be dragged out of her and was reluctantly given. The decor is miserable - all beige walls with not a picture or plant anywhere. And the X-ray waiting room stank of something vile and unrecognisable. The whole experience cost BDS$ 750. About £300 UK and feels like is a money-making production line. I was grateful for the treatment but come on Sandy Crest - you could do it all SO much better. Your staff are miserable and a big culture change is needed. Please remember that not only are you dealing with people who are likely to be feeling vulnerable but you are also representing the sunny island of Barbados to the tourists you treat. And leaving a bad impression. A smile and a hello would have gone a long way. As it was I couldn't wait to leave your facility and needed to physically shake off the feelings I was left with. Horrid experience.

Where do I begin... I cannot thank our local, friendly Sandy Crest Medical Centre for everything it has done and is still doing for myself and my family. We have had multiple visits for multiple reasons, we basically count on the team at Sandy Crest for everything from prescriptions to medical checks, annual checks, doctors' letters and emergency medical support and blood tests/investigations. I want to especially recommend Dr Forde, one of the most wonderful doctors I have EVER had the privilege to meet- she is one of a kind- kind, gentle, thoughtful, caring and very thorough. The reception staff is accommodating, patient and straightforward- waiting times are never longer than 30 minutes- and treatment is WORLD CLASS. Congratulations, team at Sandy Crest, for being exceptional in every way- and an absolute CREDIT to Barbados, to Holetown and to St James. One of the best private medical centres I have ever had the chance to walk in- I know I can count on it, and proximity to Sandy Crest Medical Centre is one of our key criteria for when we come to Barbados as they have never let us down- and they won't let you down either. Highly recommended from every perspective, I cannot speak highly enough of them and their service.

I had horrible experience with the Doctor name Greg He refused to listen to our complaints and he insulted my son by calling him fat and that he needs to lose weight. The child is 9 years old and only 84 pounds. The child already have issues with his self esteem and he made it so much worse. First time meeting us too. I normally get good service, but this doctor I won’t recommend to no one. The whole experience was very traumatic and disappointing.

I don’t know how the medical system works In the island, but a visit of the doctor and a injection were 300 bds. Expensive for a back pain

I would like to thank the whole team at Sandy Crest for the wonderful care and attention my son Jacob received, when he had an accident resulting in a nasty head injury whilst we were on holiday in April. The waiting time was always minimal, with efficient care and genuine empathy, which I really appreciated. Jacob's hair is now growing back over his scar, which he is really happy about! Thank you so much 😊

I was having some of sort of tachycardic event and am on vacation and it was very distressing. My experience at QEH was horrible…but that’s another story. Dr Dean Molyneaux at Sandy Crest was amazing!!! The front desk staff coulda been a bit more friendly but it was 2 am so.. We were seen immediately and had an ecg, two blood tests and some aspirin and was sent on my way once he knew I didn’t need to worry. I will follow up with my doc when I return to Canada. He was smart, friendly, efficient and it was very clean. It was 230 am so nobody waiting .. I hear it can get busy but our experience was so fast! middle of the night must be a good time on a Sunday lol Highly recommend

Awful service. Waited two hours to get eye drops for an eye infection and ended up leaving without seeing a doctor. Depressing environment with staff who don’t care. Found a helpful pharmacy instead who sorted the problem in minutes.

Excellent service at an affordable price. I had a medical emergency while vacationing in Barbados and went to this facility to get checked by a doctor. I came in at around 7pm on a Thursday and was seen right away. They gave me the first dose of medication to get me started since most pharmacies were closed in the area and sent me off with a prescription. I was expecting a huge bill but it only came to about $175 USD which is insanely cheap compared to US medical bills.

Just to warn people if you have to use this service, be aware that you have the means to pay your bill should you be unlucky and need medical attention, a friend of ours hard cut her head open, we could not get an ambulance so a taxi drove us from Christ Church to this 24hr medical establishment, as it was an emergency our 1st thought was to get our friend sorted out, I must say that the 2 medical nurses were fine. Our friend was then transferred to the QEH in Bridgetown. Myself and another friend were then asked for payment, I said to them that payment would get sorted, at no time did I say I was the person that will be paying the bill, considering they had already taken details from our friends partner. They repeatedly said you need to pay and a security man then acted in a very aggressive way towards me calling me a liar and shouting and pointing his fingers in my face my female friend was very distressed by the whole thing, his actions were totally unprofessional and the receptionist was no better. So I’m letting people know to be aware so that they do not have to experience this type of treatment. Bajan culture is very different to English culture and what you say can be taken out of context and Bajans will read it in a completely different way. So be warned. I shall be taking this incident further to let the establishment know the sort of personal they have in their employ. I would like to think they won’t condone this type of behaviour it is totally unacceptable. Our friend is still in hospital. Please take note people Regards Tony Shepherd

I just had my anatomy scan at Sandy Crest with Dr Pais, radiographer, I cant recommend him enough. He has really made a difference in a process that is very difficult for me due to past trauma. He is compassionate, very kind, and he talks to you during the whole scan letting you know what’s happening. I had already had my 12 w with him and that is why i decided to come back (even if my current practice has one) and im so happy i did bc feeling safe with Dr Pais during such a nerve breaking scan made my experience 10 times better
