We had an interesting bus driver from the ship port to Harrison's Cave. He pointed out many things along the way and made the approximately 45 minute ride enjoyable. When we arrived at the caves, a pleasant person greeted us at the bus and divided us into groups, taking us inside the Reception Center. At that time, we had to use our phones to scan a QR code and fill out a waiver. This took some time. We were then escort into another room to wait for the rest of the people on our bus to finish the waivers, and then we watched a movie about the formation of Barbados. After the movie, our tour guide, Carol, let us to our tram. Rico, our tram driver, and Carol took us through the caves. Along the way we made several stops and Carol explained the formation of the caves, how they were discovered, and how they became a tourist attraction. It is very beautiful inside the caves and we enjoyed our time there. Rico is a very good driver and Carol he's a pleasant and interesting guide. I'm not sure we would return the next time we are in Barbados, but we're glad we went.

A must see, they take you on a train/wagon type thing like in roller coasters. The ride is quite mild but expect to get some water drippings on you (they provide a hair net). We went with a 5 month old baby, everyone loved it and we had so much fun, highly recommend for all ages. The staff were a laugh, very friendly and accommodating.

This was my very first trip to Barbados, so I was very happy when our group decided to visit Harrison’s Cave. We visited this establishment on Saturday, September 2, 2023. There were a lot of attendees there on that date, so the registration and waiver process took a little longer than I expected. The lobby area is nice. There are seats available, a restroom, and various pictures around the walls and roof area. There is also a rum shop and a gift store in the lobby area, so we entertained ourselves while we awaited the beginning of our tour. There is an initial video that we needed to watch before we could begin our tour. It took roughly 8 minutes and was very informational. As a guide walked us through the facility to the area where our tour would begin, I enjoyed watching all of that beautiful scenery and activities along the way. I was a bit surprised that we had yet another video to watch before we could get our tour started. Although the video was also informative, I could tell that this was unexpected by a lot of the attendees, because we were all anxious and ready to get started with the actual tour. Once that second video was finished, and we were finally taken to the tour area where we got our helmets, the real thrill and excitement began. Our tour guide, Che, and his driver, Rico, provided us with an informational and entertaining experience as we rode the tram down into the body of the cave. The cave is absolutely breathtaking with its natural beauty. It was a little bit daunting knowing that we were going underground through a cave; however, it was well worth it. Not only did we see families of stalactites and stalagmites, we also saw streams and pools as well as other crystalline type objects. We even saw a pool with quicksand below it. The actual cave tour took about 40 minutes. It would have been good if we had a little more time to really take it all in, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. I highly recommend it not only for first time visitors like me, but also any natives that have not yet had an opportunity to explore this. I am giving this park 4 stars instead of 5 stars because I think there should be consideration in consolidating the video-watching periods instead of splitting it up into two separate time points. It makes the attendees lose some of their motivation and at that point, it tends to feel more like an annoyance than an opportunity to learn valuable information. The goal should be for the maximum time spent doing the actual tour itself.

Done many cave tours in my time. This was the first I've seen with a proper bore tunnel with a concrete road to allow a tram-train to take a group your of 10 ppl down 160ft below ground into the cave system

Outstanding experience! Chuck Tours, who now operates the cave, has several packages. The one we experienced included St Nicholas Abbey, with train ride and Harrision's Cave with lunch. It was the best tour we experienced in four trips to Barbados. The Cave is amazing and very professional with experienced personnel on an electric tram. The ride is approximately 1 mile one way and over 100 below the starting elevation. Go, you will enjoy.

Just visited today since the new attractions, but I have been in previous years. Did the cave tour and zip lining, also ate in the cafe by the pool. It was a little hectic when we arrived without pre booking. Highly recommend booking in advance. Getting booked at the front desk was very slow. A very nice reception. The staff at the cafe are very friendly; there is a good varied menu including vegetarian options; the food was tasty and did not take long. Onto the Cave tour. There was a 10 minute video presentation about Barbados. This was very well produced. Down to cave and another 9 minute video presentation about the formation of Barbados- again very informative. Then a short word about conduct and safety in the Cave. Onto the Cave tram and the tour guide talked about the cave - very informative. A young cave by international measure, but so very beautiful and magical. Two stops to exit the tram and take photos. The tour was about 40 minutes. Next was the zip lining. We were late from the Cave and the zip crew were packing up for the day, it was also raining heavily. However the crew could not have been more helpful. We contemplated aborting the zip lining due to the rain. And did have a discussion with the reception about perhaps doing it on another day without losing our payment. They did say this was an option. However as the rain eased we decided to push forward. The crew could not have been more helpful engaging and fun. The circuit is five legs, with varying length and height. There is also a shop to buy souvenirs and some small kiosk at the bottom. All in all a very nice venue, with things to do - one could certainly spend a good day there.Very highly recommended.

Absolutely breathtaking adventure. If you are ever travelling to Barbados, THIS is something that you have to see. When you first walk in, you will get an introduction to Barbados and the caves via 2 videos. Then you will sit on this long cart that will take you through the caves. There are several moments throughout where you can get up and take photos of the structures. The sights were beautiful and I kept wanting to see more. Throughout the ride, I never felt claustrophobic and the tour guides made me feel really safe and at ease. It was really cool exploring this cave and having the opportunity to hear more about the history and culture of it. I could tell that they really care about the environment and preservation of this cave so it was comforting to know that the animals and natural ecosystem were protected and well maintained. There were about 29 people on our tour but it wasn’t too crowded. After the cave adventure, you can explore the grounds and take a picture on the Harrison’s cave swing. Then, you can stop by this aviary to feed the lovebirds and budgies there. In the aviary, you can also see turtles, ducks, and other cool animals. If given the chance, I would LOVE to come back here again.

The caves are the 8th wonder of the world - cavernous ancient underground chambers that are a must see. Chukka tours did a great job with transports and our package included a fantastic tour from our guide at the Flower Forest, a really educational and eye opening journey through a garden of native and imported fauna that make up the ecosystem of the area. We both really enjoyed the tour!

Staff is friendly and great tour for the Cave ride! The view was amazing! The rest of the facilities are ok. The trails were a bit too short. They mentioned the expansion of the park with swimming pool will be completed next year. That will definitely make the place more interesting!

Awesome day spent at Harrisons cave! The park was gorgeous, with zip lines, pools, nature walks, an aviary, and the Green Monkey bar and grill has wicked meals and delicious drinks. We did they cave tours, and it was incredible. Gabriel was an awesome tour guide, and the tour of Harrison was super cool. You get quick run through of the geological history of Barbados, and then they take you down 160 below ground through beautiful rock formations. Just remember, DO NOT TOUCH!!

Fun experience. The. cave was very pretty and interesting. The staff was very fun and friendly. The obstacle course was harder than it looked. The zip line definitely main attraction, wish it was longer. Food was trash so I would suggest eating first. Otherwise. Highly recommended attraction.

Wow! This was such a great tour. We did it with our 3 boys and they had a wonderful time. The tram really helps to make the experience easy and fun for all. Afterwards we had smoothies at the Monkey Bar.

Truly amazing, a must see once in Barbados. Hyacinth and Peter our guide and driver did an excellent job keeping us entertained and information on the cave. The Zipline and Eco Adventure is an added bonus. Had lunch after at the restaurant food was great. Would visit again once in Barbados. You can purchase tickets at the caves.

Tour of the cave was captivating, educational and fun. The guides were engaging, personable and genuine. They made the experience enjoyable and worthwhile. Although there was a little mix-up with our reservation, the hostess took quick action to rectify.

Who would have thought that there's such a beautiful cave in the Caribbean? In a desolate island which was just formed 60.000 years ago? The Park itself is very nice, it has a zip line, bird aviary with a nice collection of birds. Macaws, peacocks, pigeons, chickens and surprisingly a tortoise! The cave is amazing, you learn a lot about stalactites and stalagmites. Do you know which is which? 😉 The guide and driver (Andre) were really totally cool!! In fact Andre helped us with some of the most amazing family photos that we had over the Park. If you are stopping by Barbados, I recommend it highly, you won't be disappointed. We were guided by Chukka, the reception guy named Neil was so helpful and kind. The driver named Peter was like a Barbados version of Wikipedia. He knows every tree, every beach and every place along with the history! Wait till you see the Baobab tree!!

Amazing caves! However, pretty much everything else was closed... bar a very quiet restaurant and a small gift shop. Bit ghost-town like, probably because of covid. Therefore I thought it was a tad expensive ($57) for a 30 minute tram tour of the caves.

Visit was in 2021. The new attractions are on the way and look great. Entering the gully was like being on Jurassic park island... Our tour started with a wander around the grounds learning about the plant and wild life. We then headed for the main tour below ground. Been on a few tours in caves but this one was the best, look at the pictures to see why. We finished with lunch, ok food and good service, can't complain for a quick bite. Tour guides and staff were friendly and great throughout. If you are on the island wanting a day out this is well worth it. We booked via Chukka, collected from other accommodation and combined the tour with the St. Nicholas Abbey and Heritage Railway.

We had an amazing time, Sandra led our cave tour and she was fabulous! Alongside the great sights, it was also very informative and made me fall in love with Barbados even more. We also did the zip line where Adrian and James were amazing too. 10/10 experience!

Best to register on line prior to arrival as will save time. Cave experience is fantastic. Tour is very educational. Captivates your attention. Cave is surprisingly warm. Lots of opportunity to take pics. Electric train is comfortable. No prices in gift shop so hard no for me. Great attraction and a must do. Didn't buy any food or drink at the park as preferred to dine locally in the many surrounding towns where locals eat.

Amazing experience- the cave is vast but well lit and even accessible for those with mobility issues. If you enjoy caves or the idea appeals to you/your family... do it!

Great experience, a lot of changes since I was last there. There was an aviary which my daughter loved. The Cave itself was unchanged, my daughter loved it as it was her first time.

This place gives you a great historical geological understanding of the island of Barbados. The tour takes you into the underground and a clear understanding of why the water tastes so good and is safe to drink. There's more here than just the cave. BTWn it's a tram tour, so little walking is required.

Harrison's Cave is a tourist attraction in the country of Barbados, first mentioned in 1795. Tourists can access the subterranean environment on a tramway. The caves were first mentioned in historical documents in 1795, and were rediscovered in the early 1970s by Jack Peeples. They were developed by the government as part of a tram tour, and opened to the public in 1981. Harrison's Cave is in the central uplands of Barbados. It is situated at 700 feet above sea level. The three characteristics of the central uplands are gullies, sinkholes and caverns. It is also an entrance for another place of interest: Welchman Hall Gully which is closed. The caves are naturally formed by water erosion through the limestone rock. The calcium-rich water that runs through the caves have formed the unusual stalactites and stalagmites formations. Travel through the caves is by tram, at certain points during the tour visitors are allowed to alight from the tram and get close up to the formations. One main area of the caves is a huge cavern, termed "The Great Hall", measuring over 50 feet in height. After the great Hall the tram stops at "The Village". At The Village, some of the formations have joined to form columns after thousands of years. Other areas the tram stops along the tour is "The Chapel," "The Rotunda," and "The Altar." Visitors travel through the Boyce Tunnel via tram to all depths of the cave.

Choose a hotel pick up as it's easier to get to (and I'd probably say cheaper as well). We went for the cave tour and the zip line, which was fantastic and a lot of fun! You're certainly taken care of at all times by different members of staff, and while you wait to your cave tour or at the zip line, you can also visit the aviary, which contains different species of birds and at least one turtle. A fun experience if you are tired of the beach/pool and want to do something more eco-oriented

We had a great time at Harrison’s Cave with my family even in bad weather. Loads to do there and wish we had more time to explore everything but the rain was torrential. We will come back next time we are on the island.

Such a beautiful and well run eco-tourism spot! I’ve been to the cave before and this experience was even better with all the new additions like the bird sanctuary and restaurant. The Zip lining looks fun too but I didn’t do that. Would highly recommend.

This was one of the coolest things I've done. The tour guide was great and it was so cool to be in a cave. It was a driven tour and they let you out to walk around and take pics a few times. I'd recommend doing this excursion! It's also inexpensive as well and family friendly.

Every time I go, I feel like I am seeing a celestial beauty. The staff is knowledgeable and really good with educating both adults and children. This is one place that I believe everyone should experience.

Difficult to write a review about this venue. Yes the caves are stunning and well worth a visit, the guides were funny and entertaining as well as being informative. But the park promises so much more, and as of August 2021 most of it just isn't built yet. No infinity pool, no vertical jump, no slide down the gully and no bridge over. Could be something special and probably will be if and when it's finished.

I absolutely loved this trip. I booked the cave tram tour and rum tasting with a meal and transport from the south of Barbados all included through Chukka. The tour was fascinating. The caves were beautiful and the gully walk was great really informative and so beautiful😍. Dinner in the gardens was nice before going on the rum tour. Only tourist thing I have done since been here and I highly recommend it. Loads of kids were there and the team ride along with the view means they are occupied. The cafe serves lots of food and drinks if you don't book a meal you can just buy one when you arrive. A zip line adventure is coming to Harrison's cave this year too 👏🏾👏🏾

  • 5/5 Tiwalehin O. 8 months ago on Google
Harrison’s Cave was certainly a lot more fun than expected. This is no ordinary tour! We enjoyed every second of the cave experience - especially when they turned off the lights so we could see how dark a cave really gets. This experience was made better by the comfortable seating, the lights throughout the cave which made the atmosphere less daunting and the hilarious tour guide (Che I believe). All these factors just made the experience even better that we had to come back again before we left.

As a foreigner, this was a unique place to visit!! The cave is full of history and it’s amazing to see how the earth creates its own beauty! I recommend visiting, even taking children to explore! The outside of the cave is also beautiful! Filled with flowers and surrounded by nature!

We had a really great time at Harrison's cave. The staff are so very friendly and kind. The food at the bar was good and tasty and reasonably priced, the gift shop was similarly reasonable. The actual tour underground was amazing, amusing staff and stunning scenery in the caves. Was a great afternoon well spent.

If you ever come to Barbados, you have to see the Harrison cave. It’s warm in the cave it’s not cold I want to help you get wet with the water dripping off the ceiling but the humidity is so high. You’ll enjoy it.
