We really enjoyed the park. For the most part I was happy with the conditions for the animals but I would personally like to see the indoor aviary areas and reptile tanks removed. Some of the birds looked sad. Fish tanks did not look well maintained. All of the outdoor animals looked healthy enough. I would recommend in general but hopefully more work can be done for the living standards of the caged animals.

You have two sides to the wild life park, one is full of tortoises, some peacocks and chickens - they also have monkeys, but only for the afternoon feeding (afternoon monkey feeding). The other side you have the monkeys for the 11am feeding, they are a different tribe to the ones in the other side of the car park. I was told the afternoon feeding they have a lot more monkeys, so I would recommend the afternoon feeding, but the morning one was well worth a visit. The wildlife park apart from the monkeys was a bit meh - really just tortoises.... Worth a visit, but don't worry if you did not get chance.

Awesome experience! As a solo traveler, I found it best to come at opening before the tourist vans get there and while it's not as warm out. There seem to be more animals out and about this way.

Memorable visit to see the Wildlife Reserve. This place does a good job caring for all the animals and it's nice to see they have plenty of room to roam around. Forest trail was very nice and peaceful, unfortunately some kids thought it would be a good idea to run and scream, which ruined some guests experience. Monkeys are very amusing to observe, we went to see the 11am feeding which made for a good picture opportunity. Nice to drive up here from Bridgetown, gave us a different view of the beautiful island of Barbados. Reccomend a visit here to all animal lovers.

This was a wonderful place to walk around and see animals that live on the island. I didn't spot any monkeys when I was there, but I enjoyed seeing all the other wildlife. It was very peaceful and relaxing to walk around and explore the area.

Very cool experience, especially with kids. They loved the monkeys. It was torrential downpour when we went and we all still had a great time

An extremely beautiful place. The entrance fee is quite affordable and you get to tour the entire reserve with a guide. The monkeys can get a bit hostile so beware of that. Also, you get the opportunity to feed the animals as well. It’s worth the trip!

The reserve was well worth the visit. We got there in the afternoon, at around 3pm, which was after feeding time and we saw many monkeys, tortoises, buck and other animals. The circular walk could take you as little as 30 minutes to do, it all depends on how many animals you would like to photograph and how much time you spend in the reptile house.

This was an awesome experience for children and adults. The staff were extra friendly and didn't mind answering questions about the animals. Watching the monkeys feed was the best part.

I think the monkeys' feeding is at 2pm daily. $15us to enter. Lots of monkeys!!! The lookout was neat.

This is a small park. It has turtles, birds, and deer. It is quaint but could be maintained better. Some of the bird enclosures were dirty. The brick pathways could be treacherous for someone with mobility issues. A wheelchair would be hard to push on them as they were very uneven. I would still recommend visiting for an hour or two.

Amazing experience and one I would do again. Best to go when the monkeys get fed. Amazing how close they get to you, just don't touch them, they do bite. You can sit on the bench if you are brave enough, I did and got some amazing photos.

You are literally FEET from monkeys, peacocks, turtles, deer. They roam the reserve and you're just walking around without any enclosures (for the most part, there are snake tanks and ones for turkeys etc). Definitely go during feeding time, we went for 11am and it was SO cool. Probably will never have an experience like this again and only $15USD. I will warn that guests who are older need to be careful because the paths are mostly brick and very uneven... The day we went, it had just rained so it was kind of slippery.

Come at 11am and 2pm to see the monkeys being fed which was definitely our favorite part of the experience. They also have a few short trails, one of which goes through a fruit bat cave. There’s also an animal park with some tortoises, reptiles and birds

Make sure you are danger ready because those rocks are slippery! We were carrying a baby & trail was so difficult to walk we couldn’t even get more than 5 minutes in. But other than that the environment is stunning. The staff are amazing, friendly and knowledgeable. The monkeys are hilarious and they are used to people, try to come at 10-11am and 2-3 pm those are their feeding times…what a show.

I want to live here. I just can't believe how incredible the forest, and birds, and butterflies and Monkeys are all just living here in perfection. The paths are windy and somewhat slippery when wet but it was such a fun little adventure. I really enjoyed the openness of it. The other side of the reserve that is enclosed for animal safety is cool but nothing is going to beat the untamed jungle exploration with monkeys gliding through the trees. Jasmine flowers blooming on hanging vines, light beaming down through the giant leaves. Such a cool experience. 10/10 would do again. Don't miss the feeding time either, it's worth an hour or two of your time all on its own.

The reserve was an amazing experience, all the animals should would want to see are all around you. Videos will tell more than text. It was free for us because of founders day. But the price normally is reasonable and it goes to conservation. Make sure you hike the trails at 12:30-1:30 then watch the feeding at 2:00pm Very active time for the animals.

Monkeys everywhere! We started out by doing the trails around grenade hill, walking through the forest up to the signal tower, and down through out the area there are caves and lots of information plaques around. We then spent a few hours looking around the wildlife reserve. There are many different species of local animals, including monkeys, tortoises, peacocks, and many more. There is also a restaurant withing the reserve as well, where you can have food or drinks while watching the animals all around you.

The green monkeys are amazing and even interact with people and so cute and interesting! Reserve teems with lots of them and other wildlife. If you like nature and wildlife, a must see! Staff are friendly and great and it's one of the best islands in the Caribbean!

Perfect afternoon for young and old. Animal feeding in the woods is at about 2. I’d suggest getting there at 1pm and having a good look round before watching them feed. So much to see. In quite a small area so great for kids and the elderly.

Loved our visit here! We arrived around 2pm for the animal feeding time and were rewarded with a visit from hundreds of green monkeys (be patient as they may not arrive exactly on time - they don’t live there, after all!) Hundreds of red-footed tortoises are roaming around, second only to the number of cockerels. The bird and reptile houses are well worth a visit too, and the garden full of plants used for medicinal purposes by slave populations was really interesting.

We came here to see the monkeys. They feed them at 11am and 2pm. It was worth it. The rest of the place is a bit sad..needs updating but excellent if you like tortoises..they've hundreds

I visited the reserve on December 27th, 2023. Let me start by saying I came via public transport on the Indian Ground which took roughly 90 mins to reach the reserve from town. The buses are not reliable but the bus man was accomodating once we asked questions and let him know where we were trying to get. (First Problem) Upon arrival there was a large sign and a muddy path. There were no security personnel present or staff. We walked to the car park where once again there was no one there to direct us. We summised where the entrance was and entered through a small gate . The front of desk woman gave us locals very little details while she went into in depth explanation to the tourist. She did not mention to us the feeding time (which is 10 and 2) any security measures, emergency exits, first aid or even how to read the map. She just asked her for our money and gave us a piece of paper and moved onto the next. I am a slim brown skin man late 20s with locs and was with my girlfriend who is a dark skinned slim thick woman with short blonde hair. We are also photographers and it would have been nice to been told about the main attractions of the venue. (Second problem) Apart from no information on what to do if injured and the numerous signs saying the monkeys will and can bite there was also not a single checkpoint or personnel on the path. No stationed individual in the snake pen, none in the aviary, none in the reptile enclosure, not a boy. Me and a few other people just wandered lost until we found our way (never quite finding the aligators or caiman). (Third problem) The infrastructure is in desperate need of repair. The wood is slowly rotting and a wrong step can leave you tumbling into some prickly spider filled bush. (Fourth problem) The little food hut lady needs some manners. She was only kind to the whites and even gave a dark skinned american couple an attitude until their heavy accent became noticeable. (Fifth Problem) The deer look half dead. The animals in general look unkept. They deficate all along the path and often on you if you are unlucky enough to be in their way. Most alarmingly I am certain one of the birds had a tumour that has developed into a gargantuan swelling. (Sixth Problem) Apparently there is a signal station. As a local we were not told this or how to get it. When we asked where were the alligator we were told read the map. Overall the animals were nicer than the staff. The infrastructure is treacherous when wet and the lack of checkpoints or evidence of first aid makes me worry as many children ran unsupervised in an area with supposed allitators and male territorial monkeys. I got some awesome photos but apart from the photos and affectionate looks from the deer I cannot reccomend this place.

A must do for a day out on the island. Great experience for the whole family and great value. Feeding the monkeys was brilliant. They run around freely and are used to human contact so very safe. They have some excellent animals to see and you could spend a good few hours taken it all in.

Very peaceful setting, short self guided tour, lots of animals! We got their shortly after feeding time, we saw deers, turtles, different times of birds, chicken, turkey etc eating from a pile of organic food which was really nice. Unfortunately the monkey were nowhere to be found. I think they took their food and left lol.

The wildlife reserve is small but has a lot of turtles. Some might look like a stone on the pathway. The snakes are in small glass cages and you might see dead mice in there. Looks as if they do not care very much about the animals which makes it sad. Also the free walking Iguanas are scary. Maybe it was the wrong time to go there..

Interesting place with a large population of introduced African Green Monkeys, brocket deer, caiman, tortoises, and many other species. Some animals free-roam, while others are caged. The walkways are a bit rough, so not good for the physically impaired.

Lovely place to see lots of happy monkeys - they feed at 2pm so good to get there by 1 in time to watch the frenzy. Also be sure to see them in their more wild environment out back of the carpark where there are also trails which take you to some fantastic views of the Atlantic.

Absolutely loved it here. So amazing to see the animals in their natural environment. Iv never been so up close and personal with the monkeys and tortoise. It was a once in a life time experience for me. The animals are well fed and looked after . Highly recommend this tour.

Small but vibrant place to meet local animals in close to wild conditions. Come by 11AM or 2PM when they are fed.

Seeing the monkeys was an incredible experience. Nice walking trails here as well. Barbados Wildlife Reserve was probably the highlight of our trip.

I didn't really know what to expect from the reserve so was pleasantly surprised. It's quite small but packs a punch - including from the rum punch we had! There are tortoises everywhere, and monkeys of course, plus a few surprises. We caught a bit of feeding time for the monkeys but they were running late and we had to leave for our next stop. It doesn't take much time to walk around, but there are other sights nearby so worth putting on your itinerary.

Definitely a place to go if you have little kids. I've never seen so many turtles in one place. You're walking amongst them so this place is not for the queezy

Had a wonderful time visitting as part of a tour . If you arrive at 11am or 2pm you will see 100's of monkeys all very friendly (although prob not the best to touch) eating and playing/socialising with one another in a huge forrest/jungle enviroment roaming care free in tbeir natural habitat . The wildlife reserve next to this is also very beautiful and is again a very large forrest/jungle enviroment with many different species of animals roaming free with plenty of space , animals ranging from deer, turtles, alligators, iguanas , peacocks as well as many othet types of bird, snakes and fish (obviously iguanas , alligators , snakes and fish are in their own enclosure but all are very spacious and well maintained) overall a must visit locationif going to barbados

Pleasantly surprised! We were unsure this as we wanted this vacation to be filled will local experiences, discovering this islands hidden gems and avoid the more “touristy” attractions. I’m glad we came the the reserve and national park. We arrived just in time for the afternoon feeding, such a treat, then headed across the parking lot to the national park for a walk through the forest. We encountered more monkeys, caves to explore and really enjoyed this peaceful forest/nature walk. Our daughters aged 10 and 12 loved it!

You'll see lots of tortoises and chickens, along with a few birds and snakes. You can also see some monkeys if you are there for the 11am or 2/2:30pm feedings. If you're going to go, make sure to be there for that... Kids enjoy it.

The staff where exceptional, friendly, knowledgeable, very kind to the monkeys and other animals. They explained the significance of the area where the park was located. The Canadian Government played a key role in making sure that this would be a site to remember. The wildlife was so interesting at both sites. Hundreds of turtles, a variety birds, snakes, deer, iguanas, and intesting foliage to protect the names and give them.a safe environment. The staff that cared for the animals where kind and understood the importance of caring for these amazing creatures.
