Have not been to Folkestone Marine Park in some time. Great place to relax with your family. They have a snorkeling and other water sports on site. There is a museum, recreation centre and playground. For swimmers there is a lifeguard on site.

Place was breath taking, beautiful and peaceful beach. Majority of the people were very friendly and helpful. I would beware of the rude lady that sits by the washroom area. We have been on the island for approximately 7 days and have visited almost all of the parishes and have never met someone quite disgusting as her, beware. Hopefully we do not encounter another rude person along the way.

Awesome, quiet area with a private beach feel. Benches and tables are in the shade nearby, as well as a playground and small snack shacks for those who need a short break from snorkeling in the marine park - although that would be hard to become tired of under any circumstance.

Beautiful ocean and small beach with lots of shade. Snorkeling was very good about 50 meters from shore, lots of fish and some live coral.

This spot was a little rough but excellent for snorkelling, a lovely couple who had been visiting the spot for decades mentioned how the reef was nothing like it used to be but myself not knowing how it used to look it was still vibrant and exciting to look at. Though to be noted we didn't see any turtles here.

Oldest church in Barbados. Cool place but I heard there are times you get in, not everytime so we only could see the outside

Small little beaches. Expensive chair rentals. Good place too Snorkel because of the reef restoration. Bring your own chairs and make a day of it.

Beautiful place to go snorkeling for free (with your own gear). We borrowed two life jackets from High Tide Watersports and we loved looking at all the fish and coral. The visitor centre had friendly staff, and we paid 5BBD each (by card) to have a tour around their marine exhibition and aquarium. Our tour guide was quite uncomfortable however, he simply showed us the room and said, "Let me know if you have any questions", and when we did ask questions, he mumbled under his breath so we couldn't hear. Despite this, it was worth the money to see all their specimens! I can confirm the lifeguard tower will hold your items for you while you swim out to sea.

The visitor centre tour was cheap and cheerful at only £2 per person (5$BBD). It was interesting to see the various displays about Barbadian history. Main main attraction for me was the aquarium room, which had approx 6 tanks with various different tropical fish. The beach at Folkestone marine park is fabulous and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. There is a lifeguard on duty.

Beautiful and peaceful country park next to the St. James Anglican Parish Church. The oldest church in Barbados. The beach is a mere 30 metres away. Shops also nearby to buy snacks and drinks.

It's amazing. It has good parking, tennis courts and a playground nearby, and plenty of picnic tables spread out under the shady trees. It's also a Marine Reserve, so no boats or jet skis are allowed. The swimming/snorkeling area is MASSIVE, and it's one of the few beaches in the area with a lifeguard in a tower. The beach is small and perfect for a "private beach" kinda feel, and there's even a little building nearby that sells drinks and snacks - as well as another building next to it for bathrooms and for washing your sandy feet off afterwards.

Lovely little educational attraction for kids. Small fee of $5.00 per adult and $3.50 per child. Carol was a joy and very helpful and Patrick was patient and interactive with the kids. It took us no more than half hour to go through. We walked up the boardwalk, the views were out of this world with the aquamarine water studded with yachts and catamarans. The beach was glorious, the water was cool, calm and crystal clear with lots of tiny sea critters for the snorkelers with the reef just off the shore. The toilet facilities were very clean ( and I am VERY particular with public washrooms... think Monk!) and there is a shower area for post-swimming clean up and de-sanding. Highly recommended, take the kids Note: Used Google Maps for directions and it took me through Highway C... No. No. Save your shocks...Use another route, the road is in disrepair, use the road to Sandy Lane and then head north. And keep an eye out for the monkeys up the boardwalk, they're some spiteful, bitter little brutes.

If you want to see ALL the tropical fishy, this is the place! No need for expensive tours. If you go towards the deeper end you’ll also see turtles. Enjoy!

Nice place to hang out with the family and friends! Enjoy the beach and a game of lawn tennis, and there is a roller skating gathering as well.

the visitor centre is an informative small place hiding small aquatic gems (and some bigger ones). for a small fee you support small team enthusiastic in helping keep the wonderful fauna of this paradise - and, did i mention it is super interesting half hour (incl. for children as they have those Little Mermaid fish there)? oh it is!

Lovely place for a snorkel, swim and relax on a quiet beach. Free car park, little shop right, bar, cafe, restaurant, and shady playground right next to the beach so hours of amusement to be had. Wide array of sealife to view.

Best beach in Barbados! White powdery sand with no seaweed. The entire area with it's short boardwalk is gorgeous and lined with luxurious looking hotels.

Enjoyed my return to Folkstone! The sea was lovely, warm and silky. Walked along the beach with my sister then swan rest of the way past Tides Restaurant. Then walked back for our swim. Perfect!

Our favourite Beach. Great for novice snorkeling.

Relaxed beach with toilets and changing rooms that are well maintained. There is also a lifeguard on duty although I'm not sure how much attention they are paying. Umbrellas and beach beds are available at normal rates. There are some shady spots if you want to rough it. There is a snack bar, we had chicken roti which turned out to be quite a big meal and a bit stoggy but probably good food for a teenager. Beer also available I don't recall the rum situation. I snorkelled most of the way out to the yellow marker buoys and whilst I found a line of rocks out there I wasn't sure whether that was the wreck. The further out you go the clearer the water gets but it's never going be gin clear with the proximity of the sandy beach hence the 4 stars rather than 5. Decent selection of fish and better that Mullins beach.

Snorkeller's paradise. Dont be fooled by the tiny strip of sand. The lack of beach is made up for by the reef that is yards offshore and spreads out for 100's of metres in each direction. The reef is shallow and ideal for beginners. There aren't any big fish but you will see Parrot fish, Trumpet fish, Puffer fish, Eels and bundles more. Myself and the kids spent all of the day in the water. Not sure it's possible to fault the place. Little food drink shack just behind the beach. Also has toilet and showers just off the sand.

The best snorkeling on Barbados! After disappointment of Peynes Beach which was supposed to be good for snorkeling, Folkestone Marine Park was 100x better. Snorkeling is very close to the shore, just be careful with waves - they might push you onto coral which sometimes is just 1 meter below the surface. We saw plenty of fish, some kind of fish snake and even a few squids. The beach itself was nice and not crowded at all. There are even showers available which seems to be a rarity. Very much recommended!
