I really wanted this place to be a 5 star resort, but it really is just average. The bus drivers to and from the airport were the friendliest and most entertaining workers of the whole trip, so save some money to give them a tip. The rooms were really nice, but unless you get butler service, it's almost impossible to get chairs at the pool or a reservation at a restaurant. We arrived on a Wednesday and everything was already booked for the steakhouses through Sunday on our departure, so that was extremely disappointing, but our friends ate at every restaurant because of their butler. The food overall is just average, nothing impressive at all. The most disappointing thing was the service. I have been to multiple Caribbean islands and eaten at hundreds of restaurants and this is not to be blamed on "island time". Every single bar, restaurant is slow service. We waited 20 minutes for a drink at the swim up bar and I was so tired of waiting I got up out of the pool and walked to the inside bar and was served a drink before the rest of my group still in the pool. The beach is not great at all either. There was a ton of red sea weed which is not the resorts fault, but there are big bulldozers on the beach removing it each day. The beach was not an area you could walk out into the water and enjoy, as the water isn't really calm to do any water activities either, so we had to stay in the pool areas most of the time. Overall, I don't want to say this resort is bad because it's not, but it's not impressive especially compared to other Sandals and for the amount you are spending to get and stay here. I will not be coming back when there are many other islands to explore.

My husband and I stayed on a Club level beach front room at Sandals Barbados. The resort is gorgeous and impeccably maintained. The landscaping is lush and tropical and everything you're looking for in a Caribbean vacation resort. The management seems to focus on treating guests really well upon arrival and departure but they need to sprinkle that customer service throughout the resort - particularly at the restaurants. This was my first experience with any Sandals property at all but I definitely felt like service was not consistent throughout my stay. I asked other guests that I came across and the resounding opinion from everyone was they felt more like they were treated like a nuisance rather than a valued guest. I will say a few employees went out of their way to be helpful, while it felt like others went out of their way to be difficult. Maybe it's staffing issues due to Covid, maybe it's cultural differences but it's definitely an area that can and needs to be improved. There's no excuse for feral cats to have their run of all of the outdoor restaurants. It's a problem that should be a priority for Sandals to deal with. My husband and I didn't have a single outdoor dining experience - day or night where we didn't have to deal with them. Lastly if you're hoping to enjoy a tropical cocktail concoction on the beach do yourself a favor and buy a bottle of duty free rum (or whatever your alcohol preference is) at the airport to supplement. They DEFINITELY water everything down.

This is the last night of our honeymoon trip and the best words to describe our visit is “aggressively mediocre”. For a 5-star resort with a such a good reputation you would think the service staff would be trying to maintain it, not destroy it. Whenever we made a request we were met with discontent and were made to feel like an inconvenience. One night there was a gas shortage and restaurants were turning people away (including us) because they couldn’t keep up with demand and we went to the front desk to ask what we should do to eat and they a) had no idea anything was even happening and b) suggested we go to another restaurant that was also facing the same struggles. Basically we got no help. We would call housekeeping to get our fridge restocked and no one would come. The food at the restaurants are mediocre at best. My husband is a big meat eater and there were cuts of steak he had that he could barely get through with the steak knife. Lastly the pool/beach chairs…. I swear there are not enough for everyone at the resort. They are literally all gone by 8am. We have gone to numerous adult only resorts and never had such a problem finding somewhere to sit at all! I think the only things we enjoyed were the diving, the location and the weather. Really disappointing as you only get 1 honeymoon and we spent a small fortune on ours.

My Husband and I came here for a 5 night stay, and after staying at other Sandals properties I have to say I’m sad I can’t call it a 5 star stay. I’m not one to complain, but a few things stood out to me that I just couldn’t overlook. To start with the positive, The Gym on the non royal side was great! Super clean and well equipped with machines. The Sky Bar was beautiful, and Dwayne the bartender at the Infinity pool bar was amazing. The Foam party was an awesome time and the drinks were consistently good. The Cons, mainly the food. My husband and I got food poisoning the second day into our trip. Service was also super slow (but you’re on island time so just roll with it). My issue is that they are SO understaffed, and you can see it on the staffs faces. We were told the resort was 90% booked, but they definitely did NOT have the staffing capability for it. They are literally working them to the bone. Overall, wouldn’t return to this resort, and highly recommend sandals work on their staffing issues before they loose the good few they do have.

After staying at several all inclusive resorts over the years, this one was by far the most expensive and had the WORST service. I was very disappointed in the lack of staff and service overall.. After paying for all inclusive drinks, we waited in 10 minute lines at times to get a drink. The bars are way under staffed and the pools do not have servers waiting on guests. The restaurants were on an hour wait at times with several tables empty. The feeling of being waited on and taken care of was not existent. It felt like we were bothering people to get service. I would NOT recommend Sandals and I will never go to a Sandals property again. I was there last week so if you are thinking of booking this property I would not. The only reason I gave it 2 stars because when you got to eat the food was great. Sandals needs to reconsider how they are staffing their resort. Jack at the Pub should be running the place. We ended up going there most nights since he took care of us but the other restaurants were terrible.

1st anniversary was amazing! All day cruise (I think we swam at 4 different beaches), snorkeling, beach bumming, pools are the nicest I've ever seen. Massages were great. Overall great atmosphere and employees are beyond amazing. The bartenders are great, functional as well as all of them were very personable. Staff really makes it feel like a 2nd home.

This is the second Sandals I have been to and lets just say I will not be returning to this location. It was very hard for us to find good or friendly service. The housekeeper who cleaned our room was great and the manager of the American Tavern was great. But beyond that, majority of the staff made you feel like you were a burden for them. We tried to make reservations and had no luck, we were told when we book again just let them know then when you want a reservation and which restaurant. So I have to book something a year out?! There was mold on our ceiling. The food was not anything to rave about at all. We do not drink but very rarely, any drink we did order tasted like disinfectant. The location is beautiful, but the service really brought it to a different level.

I spent 10k for 4 nights here and was expecting big things. The lobby looked like something out of a Cuban 2 star and the grounds are in need of a serious update. The plants and shrubbery are beautiful but the infrastructure is in need of help. One of my biggest beefs was the butlers. They were very wonderful and tried their best but if I heard one more thing about tipping the 3 of them I was going to scream. They left three envelopes and said most people tip 100 dollars for each butler!!! I ended up giving zero because if I had left 20 each they would not have been happy so what was the point after spending 10k I felt I spent enough. The food was good the buffet was so so some food was cold like the french toast. We were woken up each morning by roosters if you can believe that. Roosters and chickens hang around everywhere some not in good shape. Would I ever return here? Barbados yes, sandals not a chance. If your listening Sandals tell your butlers Melisa, Rachel and the other one not to beg for money.

We visited sandals Barbados in July of 2022 for our honeymoon. This was also our first stay at a Sandals Resort and wow! Let me just say sandals absolutely knows how to do it! We had the most amazing vacation! The resort was gorgeous from the pristine Beach with its soft sand and turquoise Waters to the endless pools in the beautiful tropical foliage. The food and the service were both impeccable. The staff here goes above and beyond to make you as the guest their number one priority. I lost my handbag one night and they did not stop working until they found it for me. One young girl named Desiree stayed with me the entire time to support me and my panic mode LOL. Both Desiree in the guest services manager both continued to check in with me throughout my stay to be sure we had everything we needed and that we were happy. I highly recommend the rekindle package in the catamaran snorkel Cruise. Both were top highlights in our trip. And don't forget to go see Captain Larry down on the beach and book your 360° Island Tour. You get to see every corner of the island in one day with a guide who will teach you the rich history and culture of Barbados. Cannot wait to visit again!

As I was waiting to board my flight to the Beautiful island of Barbados and stay at the Sandals Royal Resort, I began reading the reviews just to see what people have said in regards to it. Now after reading about 50 reviews to kill time, I read the negative reviews and took them into consideration. Fast forward to about 3-4 nights in, all I have to say is MY GOD, do you seriously need to make yourself that happy with complaining all that much? People who complain about the dumbest things are literally miserable with their lives and will LOOK to make a complaint about something. Now mind you, if it's a legit complaint, I'll shutup. But some of the complaints were so childish and needy. My wife and I had our honeymoon and LOVED every minute of our stay and did not want to leave. We will most definitely be returning in the future. Last bit of advice, 10000% do the Captain Larry Sandals excursion. Well worth it! Can't wait to return. Thank you Sandals

This was my first time in a Sandals and my expectations were high due to its higher price and supposed reputation. It has dropped a star as I have been in better 5* hotels for less money, so I'm not sure what Sandals premium is for! The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. We paid to be in the Royal but didn't need to as we spent more time in the adjoining hotel as we preferred the restaurants and piano bar. My favourite breakfast spot was Schooners near the beach, and I also loved the food at Neptune, Portofino and Greenhouse. Lunch at Heart and Sol was also very good. The food at Bombay was excellent too, although we had to wait outside, no air con, for over an hour and was then very rushed to eat as the restaurants all shut around 9.30pm. There are several things Sandals haven't got right. The piano bar and Dale, who was an excellent singer and entertainer, is a great evening, highly recommended, but the room was very small, very few seats and no air con, which was a shame. The piano bar staff were excellent. Unfortunately, we were made to feel for the first time in a hotel as inferior customers as we chose not to pay for a butler. We saw couples being followed by butlers who got them into restaurants ahead of the queues. Sandals have the crazy policy of not allowing restaurant bookings, so there was always a 30 to 60 minute wait to eat in most restaurants. There were also rumours that the reason there weren't any sunbeds available in shade was because butlers had been spotted putting towels on beds at 4am!! Despite a few negative comments, we did have a wonderful holiday. I just feel Sandals do not have anything to justify the higher cost that they charge compared to other similar hotels.

My stay was good. The resort was beautiful. However, the service wasn't consisted. I will order room services and the trays will sit by my door over night and I will have too call for pick up. Also when making reservations they ask me was I celebrating anything and I let them know it was my Birthday. Then when checking in I info them that it was mine and my boyfriend birthday because we share a birthday but when making reservations they only allow you to put one person. However, they did absolutely nothing for us. So at this point was the point in asking if we’re celebrating anything. My overall experience was okay. I expected more for the money I paid.

What an absolutely brilliant holiday :) It was so good we genuinely wanted to stay a while longer! Sandals Royal Barbados was truly out of this world. The customer service is hands down the best I have ever received in the whole world! Would definitely recommend and re-visit in the future. A special thank you to Chef Leo at The Greenhouse Restaurant who went above and beyond to prepare an exquisite, authentic Bajan meal for me and my wife. We were genuinely blown away by this experience - Thank you once again Chef Leo, incredible service. Moreover, thank you to our private candle lit beach dinner waitress Vanessa. You were absolutely fantastic - professional, attentive and courteous - A true asset to the whole Sandals team. Finally, thank you to Brian at Butch's Chop House for the great service and food recommendations. Overall a great Honeymoon experience which we will cherish forever. Thank you once again.

We have loved our previous Sandals trips to Jamaica and expected the same here. Unfortunately we didn't get the same kind of attention and service we enjoyed at the previous resorts. The resort is beautiful and the food was good. We loved the sushi at Soy! The butler service, though, was lacking and the other staff seemed less engaged on helping. We don't regret our trip, other than getting off the resort. The city seemed safe and fun to explore.

My husband & I were there for my sister’s wedding on the premises. The property is absolutely beautiful. The room was more than spacious, with a gorgeous view. The food was phenomenal. The service was utterly amazing. The staff took the time to talk to us & then remember the conversation the next time we saw them. They ALL really took the time to invest in their guests. Accommodated every single request we had without question.

Stayed November 2022 Overall we had a great time and really enjoyed the resort and food, there are so many areas here for improvement. Check-in: We had concierge check-in and everything went quickly and smoothly. Reservations: You really need to make reservations the day you arrive as they fill up quickly. Even so, many of our dinners would be later in the evening. Safety: So this is where we had the biggest issue. Right after checked-in someone walked in to our room announced while we were changing. I believe it was a butler who had the wrong room. This happened a second time while we were on the room patio area. Later on that evening we left our room around 6pm and didn't return until 1am, upon returning we found our door cracked open. We addressed with the concierge staff the next day and they said they would look in to this but there was really no urgency on their part. Later I was told they reviewed the cameras and could not find anything. I find it hard to believe they reviewed 7 hours of footage. Nothing in our room was missing, however, we were always a little on edge. Food: Mostly amazing - room service was meh. Service was generally very good. Our favorite was the Indian restaurant, steak houses, greenhouse and donut shop. The chef at the Greenhouse is top notch! Room: Our room was spacious and we had a swim up pool. Didn't use the pool too much as it didn't look clean and was always cold. Do not recommend. Housekeeping always did an amazing job but one day was missed even though we called and they would say someone would clean while we were at dinner, that did not happen. Staff: Most of the staff was wonderful and we were always greeted throughout the resort. They are short staffed, but this wasn't a deal breaker and everyone works very hard. Entertainment: there are specialized events but they aren't advertised anywhere, so we ended up missing half of them. Drinks: like other reviews, I feel like they are watered down. Airport: My husband had a broken leg at the time, and although I had called in advance to ask about accessibility and was promised transportation would be taken care, this was not the case both ways. They did however address the issue very quickly and provided us with alternative transportation.

First time I’m writing a review. First the location is good. A couple of things that will help travelers. First, we went to the beach and the water was shut off from our room. Called and they said they don’t know when it will turn back on. Second twice we asked for a taxi from the hotel. Asked the price from the start and when the taxi driver got here they said another price. And finally the food is terrible. Absolutely terrible. They have to know just because it is all inclusive doesn’t mean it has to be terrible. Don’t waste your money at sandals. Try to find Airbnb. Worst experience ever.

I wish they had a 4.5 star choice. Here goes....food was great and plentiful. Pro tip....when you arrive on site book all your dinner meals otherwise plan on eating late or miss your favorite choices. Wish they had at least one diet soda choice. Order double appetizers as the portions are small, they will bring you as much as you want. Rooms....ours was very nice but at the "Luxury " level people told us not so great. "Club" level is a must. Our bed was newer but very hard, going home a bit sore. Get out to the pool and reserve your chairs by 6:45 or else you won't get a good seat as the butlers swarm yhe pools by 7 to reserve for guest that are staying in the Butler service suites. By 7:15....forget about it. Snorkeling tour was short but worth the trip given it was included. You will be in a closely watched group for good or bad. Mixed drinks are made weak so double up accordingly. Not problem for me, just a tip. Get up early to see the monkeys walking around. Bonus Bowling alley was new and very nice. Barbados is very windy. The wind never stops. Forget about laying on the beach. Side note....if you plan to do an excursion to The Boat Yard in Bridgetown.....don't it was horrible. We were on the island a few days before we went to Sandals and heard good things but it is a tourist trap and a dump. Wifi is horrible. How about some modern access points? Come on Sandals. Overall my personal complaints were very few and minor, just points to note. We booked our 4th Sandals while there and will continue to explore the Caribbean in Sandals style.

We stayed here in September to celebrate my husbands birthday. We were traveling with another couple and chose swim up suites to be near each other. Both rooms were damp and musty. We thought maybe the air conditioner needed to be ran. Next day the humidity in our room was 88% and there’s was 90%. We woke up feeling sick as well. It took nearly the entire day for a manager to come address the issue. We were moved to new rooms in two completely different sides of the resort. To add insult to injury my husbands smart watch came up “missing” after we moved to the new room. And for our inconvenience after spending $4,000, getting sick, being separated, and having his watch stolen, we were given $135 in spa credit. Go to a smaller resort and skip them hassle. Though the food and entertainment was good, it did not justify the price. We’ve traveled all over the world and this was, by far, our worst experience at a hotel. The two stars are for the restaurant and entertaining staff who were awesome.

Very over-rated resort. Don't waste the extra premium at this place. There seemed to be no communication amongst the staff. Orders were incorrect at all meals. Service was very slow in some places. We were there for a friend's wedding and two days before they were still trying to get details of when and where. Butlers were never on time and staff kept making up excuses for not coming through. Our friends Honeymoon breakfast was never delivered. Then showed up without notice a day late with only food for one not two. It got to the point where we were making bets on how many mistakes would be made. Sandals promotes great service but they just don't deliver. Staff are either over-worked or really under-trained and no one owns any of the mistakes. Nice grounds and good food but there are many resorts that have that now at much less cost. Sandals should spend more on their staff, and less on advertising.

There is no service at all. You pay thousands of bucks and get nothing. The only good thing is the room, and pretty much that’s it. My wife and I ordered the breakfast service in the room the day before however we waited for couple of hours and got nothing during the breakfast time. We went to the restaurant instead however everything was slow. You always have excuses said this is Carribean free style however you treated your clients like this? At pool site there was no towels at all all time and we asked three times the staff said nothing just laughing. We are on Club level which means we paid for extra for a service that we get nothing? There is no spot available for the three reservation only restaurants even we stayed here for 4 nights? But can you tell your client in advance before we made the booking?? Really stupid management here and worst service in the world. Will never come back and also will let people know you are not friendly at all.

Excellent stay. Loved the facilities and the amenities. The restaurants were amazing and the service was great. Enjoyed going off site, safe area, enjoyed meeting some of the locals. The staff was amazing on the resort. Saw some people complain on here about the cats, The cats were so friendly and adorable. Enjoyed seeing them hanging around the resort and it seemed like most people did too. Beach was beautiful.

I will get straight to my disappointment, the service was quite frankly awful! To be fair the odd person was friendly but by and large most staff were abrasive, unhelpful and even aggressive. The hotel was nice although slightly run down. Our biggest issue was service as was with more than 15 different couples we spoke with around the pool. In ten nights the beer pumps worked a Maximilian two days, one of those days I got ill because the pumps weren’t cleaned. If this was a festival I could accept drinking beer from a can but a 7/8 thousand pound holiday I find unacceptable. It’s a shame as the hotel is a nice setting but the staff clearly weren’t happy and resented their jobs. We found ourselves feeling bad for moaning but to be honest we did expect a good service generally. There is a very obviously staffing issue and lower your expectations when it comes to service. We could deal with the slow laid back approach even though that was frustrating but we didn’t expect the attitude and rudeness. We will never return to this particular resort again, I hope you find this review before you sign up I just wish I had checked the reviews before trusting that a “sandals” resort would be awesome no questions.

Great facility, nice beach but be prepared to get up early if you want a chair by the beach they fill up fast. Food was good, breakfast can be busy and may have to wait for a table. Over all the wife and I had a wonderful vacation!

Sandals Royal Barbados was absolutely phenomenal! We loved the resort including the room, pools, food, and more. We loved it so much we are already planning our next trip! Definitely check out the rooftop pool, it's a beautiful place to view the oceanfront.

This was the first Sandals we have stayed at but will not be the last! Out of a 9 day vacation, I only recall 1 employee who did not greet us in passing. This is not a complaint, I am sure she was on her way to do something for someone else and was just focused on what she was doing. This was just to say how every single person working there was attentive and pleasant. We had an amazing vacation at Sandals Barbados and can not wait for our next Caribbean vacation at another Sandals. The food in most restaurants was really good and a couple was ok. Still not a complaint, nothing was bad. My only small complaint was the mattress in our room which by the way was not the cheapest but would say probably in the middle, was hard as a rock. I have a very plush one at home and just prefer soft. Otherwise this was a A++ and can't wait to return

We came here for our honeymoon and it was amazing and relaxing! We had a butler suite in a Rondoval which we would highly recommend. Having the butler gave us access to a lot of things and we never had to wait for dinners or food. They always reserved you spots at your favorite pool as well. The only thing we had issues with was the activities we booked before hand, I recommend waiting until you get there so you don't get overcharged and have to deal with it during a romantic getaway.

Nice resort in Barbados. Nice beach. Service was excellent. 21 restaurants to choose from. Hint reserve early for the popular steak house. Beware there are two with similar names. Beach long and white, water clear and deep blue. Multiple pools to relax by, with bars close or swim up. Only nit pick I have is the self serve fountain machines weren't working. Seems minor but you will want to stay hydrated as the sun is blazing everyday. This is a twofer. Book at this one and use the facilities of Sandals Royal. They are connected together. Make sure to try the homemade donuts. Overall very pleased with our stay. We did take an off resort e bike tour of the surrounding area. But that is for another post. Try to get off resort as it seems very safe to do so. Cheers.

This was our first experience w Sandals and first visit to Barbados. My husband and I have always wanted to see what all the hipe was about. Well, we were not disappointed. The resort is wonderful. There are two beautiful resorts here; Sandals Barbados and Royal Barbados Sandals. We had access to both. The restaurants were amazing. We didn't have a bad meal once. The staff really made us feel special. Our butlers were in a class of their own. The best we've experienced. I couldn't get over how clean the resort was. Everything was just perfect for our eight day vacation.

Beautiful resort with many amenities. Food is good except for room service meals. Never seen the ocean so turquoise. Some minor TLC could easily make this a 5 star resort. We'll be coming back.

Loved it... weather, service. Usually all inclusive has horrible food.. but not here. Every place we ate food was great. Tasty and not hugh amounts... this way I could still move and drink like a fish. Top shelf booze. Love the pools... love the tub on the balcony... everyone friends and excellent service. Really enjoyed the bowling alley.. just a great trip and want to go back...NOW

We had an amazing time. It isn't quite Antigua but it was still wonderful. We also get a Club level balcony room on the beach and this room did not disappoint. It did overlook the pool and then the beach was right after that, but it was still an incredible view. The food was really good and everyone was extremely friendly. The donut shop was overrated and there was one employee there is the afternoons that always made us feel like we were bothering her so we stuff with the pastry shop. It was nice having both locations next to each other so we were free to walk the entire properties and eat at both property restaurants. Only downsides were Kamonos was disappointing as the ventilation was horrible and my husband had to leave while they were cooking as the smoke was so bad and it was HOT in there and there were not enough pools. Other than that, amazing place

When putting on the green light for service after about 5 seconds it went straight to red. I have a video of this happening after having to call and ask for service. They said red light was on and I knew I did not put the red light on. Many instances where the staff were bickering and arguing with each other in front of the customers. We were enjoying the pool which is open 24 hours and asked to get out a 6 for treatment. I understand treatment is needed but at 6pm? The shuttle to get to the resort took over an hour after we checked in at the Sandals desk. We stood in a line as they took 6-8 people at a time but when ready to leave they had a bus to carry everyone. There is no way this is a 5 star place and should not have cost almost 1,000 a day that is for sure. When I did the survey and gave mostly ones underneath it it says excellent and I could not change it. That should not be legal.

Exceeded our expectations! Only a couple of minor disappointments. Review of Sandals Royal Barbados Pending review Sandals isn't cheap, and after a horrendous trip to St. James' Club, Antigua for our wedding in 2021 (separate review on that!), we decided to try Sandals. What a pleasure it was to spend a week at Sandals Royal Barbados! Far exceeded our expectations! We opted for a club level swim-up room. It was beautiful. Swim-up pool water was cold, but who cares! Resort is large, but so much to do. We spend our time at the main pool where all the action was. The food was good for the most part. We did have a surf and turf dinner where the lobster was a little over cooked, but not a disappointment. I think my only complaint was two bartenders at the main pool bar trying to take me for a fool. I ordered a BBC and a Dirty Banana. I watched as he put the ingredients for a BBC into the blender. He poured the contents of the blender into two glasses and handed them to me. I asked which was the Dirty Banana and he pointed to one glass, and then said the other was a BBC. These are two different drinks! Does he really think I'm an idiot, thinking that two different drinks come out of the same blender at the same time??? Really??? Then, he has the nerve to tell me he's the bartender and knows how to make drinks, and to go on my way. Others around me just looked on in disbelief. Other than that little thing, the resort is absolutely awesome! We booked Grenada for 2023 while we were on-site. Can't wait!

My wife and I stayed at Sandals Royal Barbados for our honeymoon and had a great time. The resort was incredible, the staff were very friendly/accommodating, and the resources for COVID protocols and return flight requirements while at Sandals were both accessible and convenient. It was our first stay with Sandals and we plan to visit another in the future. Sandals really focuses on the quality of your stay down the to small details and we highly recommend this resort. For those traveling to Barbados in the near future, I will say it was a bit of a challenge meeting the country's testing requirements coming in, but once we arrived the stay was worth it.

There are so many things that I want to review. Our butlers - Karen, Melissa, and Nicola were very awesome. They were super kind and helpful. Being able to reach them all day for anything was very nice, as well as them turning down our bed at night. The infinity pool was very nice, and I loved that they had activities and a live DJ. The swim up pool that we had with our room was quite cool. Typically I wouldn't mind, but it was quite cool to swim in and I preferred the bigger pools temperature wise. A lot of the food was top notch. There was a pretty apparent quality difference from the Royal resort to the regular one. The french restaurant was the best we ate at by far, and silly enough, that french onion soup was the BEST thing I ate the whole trip. Room service food was ...below average. The tomato soup was truly like a bowl of marinara sauce, and it didn't come with the cheese or the croutons. The ocean was stunning, and the beach was great. I had some confusion on where to go for watersports without having to ask someone. The availability of food during most times of the day was great. I would have loved more breakfast options. The jerk shack was delicious. We really enjoyed the food and ambiance. We decided to do the candlelight dinner the last night we were there. The food wasn't amazing - and there wasn't a huge selection to pick from. Also, it was a 2 hour dinner. It was just a table and chairs on the beach with some torches and a light on the table. The Covid testing was easy to schedule and get done. DEFINITELY download the BIMSAFE app for everyone in the party. I had it, but my husband didn't and it was harder for him. Overall, a great experience. The island was gorgeous and we are so happy we went. I am looking forward to more vacations with Sandals.

We had the most wonderful week at sandals royal Barbados! The staff, rooms, and dining options were wonderful. We had a swim up room which was so awesome! The property is absolutely beautiful. My only complaint was there were not many snack options for after the pool or late night. We would definitely recommend this resort to anyone. (Wait til after COVID, getting through the airport with all the COVID protocols in Barbados was a nightmare… masks are definitely required at all restaurants and bars in this resort).

We just came for our trip, March 19-26th, 2022 for our Honeymoon! I cannot say enough great things about this trip and this resort. First off, the butler service was AMAZING!!!!, We had the Elite Butler service with Crystal S, Reisha, and Abigail and YES!! 5 out of 5 stars. Throughout the trip we got surprises from them, decorated room, special treats that we didn't even know that we needed (including special snacks on the beach, special drinks at the pool) and helped us to organize every piece of our vacation so things moved seamlessly. We would return home from our scuba trips or golf trips and their would be a bath already ready in our soaking tub which was such a pleasant suprise! The food at every single place (which we tried ALL but 2 places between Sandals Barbados and Sandals ROyal Barbados). The scuba diving experiences were great, Clayton from the Dive Center did all 4 dives with him and he was FANTASTIC! We also did a catamaran sunset snorkeling cruise with the cool running boat team and it was a fantastic experience!!! Overall , amazing experience! Only downfall was the beach area directly across from the resort was pretty seaweed filled, but we walked down another 400 ft and it was perfectly clear!

I have given it 5 stars, as though there is room for improvement and we had a few niggles, overall our experience was amazing and we wouldn't hesitate to return. The facilities are amazing, I'd like to give a special shout out to Shaq and Cash from the Playmaker team, these guys are fantastic. I'd love to see Kite on the main stage, talking to other guests they said the same (management please take note)! Don't go expecting 5☆ food as it's not, but there is an abundance of choice and you're not limited, you certainly won't go hungry. The Sushi in Soy was excellent, our favourite restaurant was Bombay. The grounds are stunning, the beach and ocean picture perfect. We'll definitely be returning and recommending the resort and island to everyone.

Belated post… we stayed in Sandals (older side) in January for 10 days. We couldn’t fault the resort. Our room, food, entertainment was amazing. We particularly loved the bourbon cocktails in the American bar and the Parisian food night. We also enjoyed the free snorkelling with turtles - we did it twice. Our highlight - Calvin, our butler. He was absolutely amazing. His attention to detail was great, so friendly and likeable. We would return back for just him. Our other butlers J-Shayne and Agata were great too. Thanks sandals! X

We have been here 4 days so far. Food is very good quality. They have premium brands of Drinks. But I am failing to see what the big Sandals difference is. In the interest of fairness I have spoken to Sandals Regulars, who have said the food and resort is good due to choice but this is not the best resort they have been to. We are off to Grenada next week so we will be able to compare. To be fair we do not have a high grade of room. But it is very comfortable. We decided to book this as a "Luxury" holiday as it is our 25 wedding anniversary year and our visit included my husbands birthday. The hotel could do small things to make a difference costers for your water glasses to stop you being dripped on not having to get out of the pool because the pool bar is not monitored. Maintenance could also be better lots of blocked AC drains and watermark plaster with mop up towels about. We will see how things go, I am looking for the Sandals difference, but am so far yet to find it. Don't get me wrong it is nice but nothing Special

Booked here for a 5 star luxury honeymoon. We were able to get halal food catered for us which was a bonus. Lots of restaurants to choose from and we booked the ones we wanted to visit too on our first day. The app was amazing as I can look at the menu beforehand and choose my meal. We managed to work our way through 12 of the restaurants in our stay. On our last day we were able to have left luggage at reception and still enjoyed the restaurants all day before our departure in the evening. We had transfers included to the airport and back. Food was exquisite. Would recommend and we look forward to joining again.

Spent 7 days at Sandals Royal Barbados earlier this month and had a great time. Rooms were clean, and the resort was beautiful. I do want to call out the staff at the Merry Monkey for their exceptional service. Jack and team were always willing to go the extra mile to make our time in his bar memorable. We enjoyed spending time there every night. If you see Jack remember to ask him to play Nickelback Charades, like he did with the couple from Texas.

We came for our honeymoon and had never been to a Sandals resort before but had heard wonderful things from friends and family. We were so excited to enjoy a relaxing all-inclusive vacation that required zero planning or stress. Our experience was disappointing and left us feeling like we needed to redo our honeymoon… the resort is expensive and the service is awful. The restaurant and bar “service” were SLOW. Half the time the servers seemed like they were unhappy to be there and weren’t friendly at all. I felt like I was bothering an employee by asking for something. Service at the pool and on the beach was nonexistent… get your own towels, find your own spot, get your own drinks…nobody will help you unless you have a butler. It’s almost impossible to find a beach spot with an umbrella because the butlers reserve them all. The food was overall pretty good. Our favorite was the French restaurant and the Sushi place. You have to make reservations for most of the dinner restaurants that actually give you decent service but you have to do this the day you arrive or you likely won’t get in. Breakfast and lunch spots are overall disappointing. The pizza by the pool and the jerk chicken shack were both good but take forever. I think what threw us over the edge was waiting a whole hour for 1 quesadilla when we were the third customer to order for the whole day at 11 am. SOME of the servers (French restaurant, sky bar bartenders) were wonderful and attentive. The spa was nice, but the amenities such as steam room, sauna and pool were all closed off. I really wanted to do the romantic dinner on the beach but when we saw that it was basically 40 tables all next to each other on the beach, we decided to forget it. It looked just like a restaurant that was moved into the sand, Nothing special. The bowling alley was fun and that’s where we spent most of our nights, but the wait to get a lane is pretty long unless you go early. The silent disco on Wednesday night at the bowling bar was the most fun night of the whole trip, all the rest of the “shows” weren’t very entertaining. The luxury catamaran was the best part of the entire week, and it wasn’t even at the resort. The guys running the catamaran were absolutely amazing and they deserve a 5 star review! Sandals, definitely not. We will not be back and I do not recommend coming here for your honeymoon- they don’t do anything special for you!

We had an excellent 10-year anniversary trip to Sandals Royal Barbados in mid-August. Our butlers, Melissa, Nicola, and Rachael, went above and beyond to help us feel appreciated and cared for during our week-long visit. We took advantage of several of the Island Routes tours so that we could see more of the island & learn about rum and enjoyed those tours. We spent several enjoyable afternoons at the rooftop pool and South Seas pool. The Greenhouse was far and away our favorite breakfast and dinner, and the lunch salads at Heart & Sol were delightfully refreshing. Butch's Steak & Seafood and Chi were also delicious dining experiences. And of course we had daily stops at Cafe de Paris for coffee and cookies. We were able to relax with a couples massage and manicures/pedicures, and we appreciated the staff at Red Lane Spa who helped make experiences possible. Sandals is a great brand that works hard to provide quality service to guests; we will continue to book with Sandals for future trips to the Caribbean region! The beach was scenic if a bit rougher in the water than we would have liked to have seen. The sargassum grass was in the area, and we saw staff working hard to clear it out daily.

My husband and I had an amazing experience celebrating our honeymoon at Royal. Service from beginning to end was exceptional. Staff is extremely attentive and super friendly. Special shout out to Rico for taking good care of us and George from the Chophouse for a great dining experience. As others have mentioned, definitely book the reservation only restaurants as soon as you get on site. Do expect to wait about an hour for most places that don't require a reservation. We really didn't have an issue with that but keep that in mind when planning your day. The same goes for room service. With that being said, we thoroughly enjoyed all restaurants.. but Chi was definitely our favorite! It was a nice perk to have access to the original sandals resort for more food options etc. Highly recommend the south seas area if you're looking for a private and quiet getaway. 10/10 highly recommend!

Great all inclusive resort. Friendly staff, food is pretty decent, especially for an all inclusive. Location is stunning and the beach is great! Not too much sarcasm and the waves aren't at all rough. With over 20 restaurants on the resort and even a bowling alley there's plenty to do here.

Loved the resort even tho it rained two days! We had a great time. The staff were all very pleasant especially Sheri- Elizabeth. She couldn’t have done enough for us each time we seen her and the happiest staff member I met. We loved the food and really enjoyed all the drinks. We will be back

Our experience was amazing and nothing but positive. The first night there was a hurricane warning so a lot of staff was sent home. The staff that was left to work was absolutely amazing and hard working. Since most restaurants closed early, they put together a buffet that still amazes me (especially because they had limited staff and little time to prepare). The line was long and dinner ended up being later than usual, but we didn’t mind at all, especially due to the circumstances. The food was fresh, hot, and tasty; and the choices and variety were great. Our butlers were phenomenal. We loved Kittisia and Archie! Thank you for making our stay so fabulous and seamless. They never hesitated with any of our requests, but also had most things done for us before we could even ask. We loved them both! As for all other staff, everyone was so friendly and wonderful. I love the positive “no problem” attitudes and vibes. We did not experience any bad service anywhere we went. My husband is also very social and friendly and I think that goes a long way with the staff. We loved the DJ and games they hosted at the Infinity pool. I think there’s a great balance between quiet time and party time. However if you’re not into the party and DJ, there are plenty other pools to choose from. Our favorite place was the Merry Monkey. Food was great and karaoke night was so much fun! The staff, once again, A+. We conversed with several of them making it that much more enjoyable. I also have to add that we had a great time with the entrainment crew. They are so much fun! We’re already planning a trip back!

Best week of my existence. The food was great, the people was kind and attentive. The weather was almost perfect (short showers here and there). Access to the whole resort. The room was large yet cozy and I haven't slept that good in a long time.
