Very small open air airport. Areas which are not air conditioned. Limited food and drink option. Decent shopping. For a country which heavily relies on tourism it is surprising that the airport doesn't match the otherwise fantastic island. We found airport staff to be rude, specifically and incident where airport security repeatedly shouted at an elderly gentleman for not taking his shoes off and loading his bags incorrectly (no signs were displayed to tell travellers what was expected at security). I also dropped off customs forms and the staff were rude and laughed in my face when I asked what the process was , their response was "it'll get sorted when it gets sorted". There was plenty of helpful staff and please don't let this review put you off Barbados as a whole, which is a beautiful place to visit, but the hospitality and kindness we received on the island was unfortunately unmatched at their port of exit.

Terrible unfriendly nasty security staff . Made disabled gentlemen get out off a wheel chair take his shoes and belt off when he obviously couldn't stand while shouting at his wife that it wasnt their job to help while making his wife push the wheelchair around the back leaving the gentleman to try to stand on his own.when asked to speak to the team leader about the rude comments given to both the man and his wife was dismissed with a wave of the hand cleat laughing it's not their job to assist disabled passengers. No option but to go through security but these 4 ladies should not be employed in this area of the airport if they cannot offer assistance and a friendly service. Hang your head in shame for treating someone so badly

Staff is extremely unorganized and slow when it comes to checking bags, while other capable staff just standby watching. Had us wait around in the airport for hours just to tell us the flight is delayed a day, due to pilot hour limitations, which they had the knowledge to cancel the flight but instead wasted hours of everyoneโ€™s lives. Am most definitely not coming back to this beautiful island solely due to the airport.

Very different feel to most international gateways. The check-in kiosks are located in the concourse that is effectively outside, with a tent/marquis cover. There are some food places and kiosks like Cheffette, in the outside concourse. To go through security, you go into the building, and once on the other side, there are a few more duty-free shops, souvenir shops, and a couple of fast food places and restaurants, but nothing too fancy. The airport has a very chill, slow pace to it

Long lines (as expected); the self-check machines didn't seem to be working, which could have expedited the process for some passengers. I was early, so I was able to move to an empty counter and weigh and adjust my luggage to expedite my own check-in process. I was met by amazing staff who were helpful-- wish I could remember her name. Anyway, keep up the good work... great customer service goes far.

The security area where your hand luggage is checked. The staff needs some training to deal better with customer service. I think, according to my experience they can be considered to be abit, too serious in appearance. Which can cause customer to get very defensive. Otherwise the rest of the airport is a reasonable experience.

Only few power sockets avaliable and don't have places to take a nap. Will be great if have a Ross Dress for Less inside the airport.

Hmmm, a tiny open air airport. More than half the shops are closed. There is a little food court. It appeared that the gates at both ends were closed off from the public.

Very nice airport. No exhausting people offering you rides etc., just nice and relaxed people. You can sit in the middle under a tent roof and eat something, everything is calm and nice. Bus stop is 50m away at the highway, buses that go there will take you to Oistins or Bridgetown.

Small , rammed, but staff ate really friendly and donโ€™t seem to get worked up at anything. This has an effect on people for sure, they too remind calm in the winding queues. I not though, I didnโ€™t have to wait for baggage - back at the hotel loads of people said it was absolutely arduous. Simple airport, not trying to be a shopping Center, grateful for you. Steel drum players on landing was completely kitsch but it gave lots of parents something to point at as they stood in the queue.

Great experience. Registered taxis just outside the door of airport. Steel drum players welcome you when you disembark the aircraft. Plenty of food outlets the other side of security when travelling home. Gate Zero has great cocktails at reasonable prices. If you want a great end to your dream holiday

If you were meant to wear a mask you would be born with it! Keep your masks and hand sanitizer! Suppressing your body and using chemicals is not going to help you. Educate yourself. United and American Airlines customer service has seriously declined, they are 2 large carriers at this airport.

A great airport and only 4 stars due to security which just seemed chaotic and no help provided other than someone shouting orders. Really no need and some helpful info to guide you through wouldn't go amiss. It was almost like we were invisible. I thought the team could be much better organised for a swifter service. Other than security the rest of the airport is wonderful really enjoyed the shoos and the food choices. Well done to all of you who work so hard to look after us tourists and security team you need to do much better than this.

Airport was very busy with lots of flights leaving which meant getting through security and checks took a long time. But once we were through it was good. Couple of duty free shops and a food hall. Simple but what we needed before flying home.

Needed more check-in staff on American Airlines priority desk as it was painfully slow. Once inside the airport it was spacious and well air-conditioned with lots of seating. Good range of shops. Toilets clean. Executive lounge a joke. Security was quick & simple to get through (on this occasion) but not sure if it's always like that.

We came in on a busy Sunday and it was chaos, so having one of the many companies that greet you was a must. OTOH, once in we waited an hour and a half for luggage. It was hot and there was no water or non-alcoholic drink to be found. The restrooms were okay

Very clean. Organized. Only issue is the length of time you must wait for your bags to come out (every visit). Other than that, it's the best feeling in the world to land in beautiful Barbados!!

Loved the paperless immigration process! More countries need to pivot to this tech as it saves time. A bit disappointed the car rental was closed upon arrival (5pm) but I guess some cultures do actually have work/life balance which is not a bad thing. A little street smarts and negotiation and you get a taxi to your destination ok.

This airport is a bit old style however it is built such that the cool air makes the experience Caribbean like. The duty free is not too bad, there is food available and also a few sitting areas and stores to shop in while u await your next flight. I must say however that there arent enough toilets .

I enjoyed my time in the Grantley Adams International Airport. They have great shopping options if you are flying home. Plenty of duty free stores as well as shops with handmade items from the island itself. I only give it four stars because if you have a gate over the number 13 you are in the older part of the airport that has a very loud speakers everywhere that is so loud it hurts your ears after you sit down for ten minutes. All in all it was a good airport.

Great airport. Very lovely people. Fast immigration. Slow baggage pick up. There's one ATM. One duty free shop. No tobacco allowance, BTW. No way of purchasing a sim card at the airport. Other than that - very good experience.

Great experience at this airport - Nov 2022. We came through here a few times to arrive / depart Barbados for our Royal Caribbean Cruise and to pick up /return our rental car. This airport is an open concept - meaning no walls and no doors to get to the airline check in. This airport also has a lounge and food court. There are also shops for last minute duty free purchases and gifts. I've attached pictures of my favorite bakery, the truly helpful car rental folks and taxi rates.

Many restaurants and places to sit. Well organized. I could see myself waiting a flight for hours without a problem since there are many things that can be done while waiting.

Despite the self check kiosks all being down for the day, the check in process was as about as good as it could be. The airport is easy to navigate and has great, helpful staff. Looking forward to coming back.

My message to those of first world and second world countries. Donโ€™t expect much of this Airport, the facility lacks funding since itโ€™s in a developing nation. It doesnโ€™t get a lot of the things in first world and second World airports please do the due diligence to understand. As Iโ€™ve heard staff were rude however thatโ€™s everywhere so itโ€™s no surprise I know from experience sometimes even customers so weโ€™re no better. Thank you for your kind understanding.

Grantley Adams Int. Airport is a huge airport, and pretty much Immigration services went through quickly. The design of this airport is quite satisfactory in the outside, buy beautiful with duty frees, shops, restaurants, and many things in the inside. When we arrived in Barbados during the night, Immigration has this kind of technology which is high, and primitive. International airlines can land at this airport, and they include airlines such as Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, and TUI. Rating: 7.5/10
