I have been seeing Martin since October 21 with a frozen shoulder in lots of pain and with limited movement. He has been amazing and with lots of care, personalised exercise routines, hands on massage and manipulation, I have got most of my movement back and have minimal pain in my shoulder. He is very experienced, patient, and professional and I can't recommend Martin services enough and you will be in very safe, skilled hands. Thanks again Martin!

I initially visited Mac Physio & Pilates with an injury to my lower back which has been plaguing me on and off for years. After a thorough assessment by my physio Alyson, we agreed that to stop the repeatability of this injury a focus on increasing my core strength was the best course of action and so became my introduction to Pilates. Whilst this was a new concept for me, Alyson was very patient and tentative and demonstrated exercises excellently, giving me workouts to follow at home and warm up exercises to integrate in to my usual gym routine and to perform independently. Over the course of my ten sessions I was also helped with a niggling tennis elbow injury and some sports massage on my calves which really needed some work after a while of post cycling neglect! All in all a brilliant practise and one I would highly recommend, I feel like I have come away with the best possible ‘tool kit’ and a swathe of knowledge and information to hopefully protect myself from further injury and discomfort whilst remaining active. Thank you!

I first came across Mac Physio when my 9 year old was suffering with a regular hamstring problem at football. I thought he may have pulled the muscle but Alyson immediately noticed this was a muscle development issue where his left hamstring was more flexible then the right. She pointed out issues with his stance and walking style that I had never noticed before. Alyson gave us simple but effective stretches and I saw an improvement in a short space of time. My son is now completely over the pain and has developed both hamstrings to the same size and strength. Highly recommended as this is a high quality studio with free parking and friendly staff. I am very pleased with my sons progress and so is he!

I recently had an injury on my shoulder and got treated by Martin. I have had various treatment in the past for other issues which have all been successful. After investigation Martin suggested a new treatment "Radial Shockwave Therapy". Initially I was a bit concerned as I really don't like electric shocks. Martin explained that the treatment was not related to electricity and was more like pressure waves, it was the name that confused me. I agreed and went for the treatment. Whilst the treatment felt a little strange, it was in no way painful and was quite relaxing, definitely not like electric shocks. I was lucky to only need one treatment as my injury was not too serious and also I believe catching it early also helped. I made a full recovery and I'm very happy to recommend Martin, Mac Physio and the Radial Shockwave Therapy. Many Thanks.

I've used Mac Physio since I managed to break both shoulders. Martin is really good at explaining what he is going to do, and what exercises I should do at home. The software they use is also great, it sends through what exercises you should be doing along with example videos. I'd thoroughly recommend them.

I was recently treated at Mac Physio and Pilates by Sophie, primarily for tight calves/ glutes. The problem was quickly and professionally diagnosed, and a program of exercises was put together for me to do at home. The thing that struck me during the diagnosis was that Sophie didn't just concentrate on the issue I had gone in with, but she was keen to find the root cause, and spent time treating other areas too. I am extremely pleased with the treatment I received, and would have no hesitation in recommending Mac Physio to anyone looking for professional and effective physiotherapy treatment.

I have visited MAC physio several times over the last 5 years and have been helped so much by both Marty and Annie. They are super knowledgeable, friendly and have a lovely space for treatments. I have recommended them several times to friends and have always had great feedback from them too.

Very happy with the service and expertise from Mac Physio They diagnosed my hamstring tendinopathy quickly explained the condition and told me it wouldn’t be a quick easy fix and I would have to be patient they were right on all counts and the program they set me has sorted the problem and got me back running pain free it took a good few months like they told me but so glad I trusted them and stuck to the program of strength and exercise it paid off. I would highly recommend Mac Physio and will definitely use again but hopefully not for a while!!!

After breaking my ankle quite badly last year, i have been having physio from Martin over the last 10 months. Martin consistently assesses, treats and gives me a range of exercises to move me forward each time i see him. When i have hit stumbling blocks, Martin has been able to quickly adapt my treatment and exercises to address the problem and maintain my progress. Most recently, i have experienced extreme tightness in my achilles, tendons and muscles in my calf and ankle. This has restricted my movements and the excercises i am able to complete each day, making it more difficult to walk. It was also starting to trigger plantar faciitis in that foot. Martin recommended that i try Radial Shockwave Therapy to see if it would help. I have now had two sessions using this. After the first, i noticed a difference straight away. I was able to walk with much less stiffness, without limping. I was also able to walk at a more normal pace, which i had not been able to do for some time. Martin warned me that the treatment might be a little painful; however, even at the most powerful, the level of pain was less than i experience walking on the stiff ankle each morning. And Martin was careful to build up to this, monitoring my tolerance to the discomfort of treatment.

Sustained an injury to my shoulder and arm playing rugby. Saw Martin who after assessment recommended Shockwave therapy. I'd not tried this before but afterwards felt a real difference, greater mobility and less pain. Will likely need more treatments but feel I can return to training, which I wasn't confident about before the session. Really impressed with the result. Hadn't been to the practice before either but was recommended by a friend, so pleased I went. Thanks Martin.

I went to MAC to rehabilitate my injured knee and I had a fantastic experience. The studio is very modern, clean and well-equipped, the prices are very reasonable and the staff are brilliant. I made an error on my booking form and Nicki was very helpful and immediately sorted it out for me. My physio, Jodie, was very friendly and professional. She identified that I had a torn meniscus and made a personalised rehab programme that considered my lifestyle, ability level and access to equipment. The online portal is great as it includes videos, clear instructions and a tracker. I also really appreciated that they were so considerate of my wants and needs – they didn't try to push products, extra sessions, or more expensive treatments on me. My knee is loads better now (3 months since my first appointment) and I will definitely come back to MAC if I am injured again!

I cannot recommend enough. I came to get some physio for an ongoing hip flexor issue I've had for many years, when nothing else worked. Martin is so professional and really wants to understand the root cause. I've been having regular physio for a few months now and really starting to see some improvement. Pain is minimal to non existent. I really need to able to perform for CrossFit. I couldn't air squat in november without pain, now I am back to actually adding some weight without any pain whatsoever. I've learned some great stretching and muscle release techniques and will continue to incorporate these into my training. If you have a niggle or injury, get yourself to MAC Physio for treatment and remediation !

To ensure that I was in tip top condition, both mentally and physical, for the latest of my extreme challenges 1664 Yomp, (106 miles none stop over 36 hours for the Royal Marines charity) visited a week before to have sports massage. As they say the taste in the eating and this was the case as only 13 of us managed to complete the challenge. Must say it did the job ;0)

I was having severe back pain, sometimes unable to walk whilst doing the garden, or hanging the washing out - simple tasks - a few sessions with Martin, and the useful exercises he gave, has massively helped. If I ever have a back problem again, I wouldn't hesitate to go back. Thanks so much

I have consulted a variety of physios over the years for back and shoulder problems, with varying degrees of success. Annie stands head and shoulders above all of the them, not just for the quality of the treatment but also for the manner in which she deals with her patients. I first attended her with significant back problems where I was interested in Pilates Reformer. I had previously attended Reformer classes where no account was taken of individual injuries. We started doing 1-2-1 sessions on Reformer and the improvement in my back and general mobility / flexibility was nothing short of staggering. This led me to conclude that any exercises I undertook in the gym would only be done if she agreed that they were to my benefit. I have had significant injuries caused by Personal Trainers in the past. The friendliness and professionalism of the business is self evident as soon as you walk in, and I would highly recommend them. Believe me, you will not be disappointed.

Posting on behalf of C.A. I have just finished a course of physio with Martin for Tendenopathy. After nearly a year of constant and sometimes severe pain, I'm happy to say that due to his care, attention and advice, I have seen a massive improvement in my condition and I would say it is a 99% improvement. The staff are all super friendly, very professional and flexible with appointments. I would highly recommend Martin and his team to anyone in need of Physio.

Dear Mr McBride and Martin Cunningham, It is six months since my Birmingham Hip operation, and many weeks of physiotherapy. I just wanted to drop you both a note thanking you and your teams for the work you did, and updating you on my progress. Last week I won a gold medal at the UK BJJ (Brazilian Jiujitsu) National Masters. I registered for this just prior to my operation as a motivator to recovery. to be honest, I was not sure if it would even have been possible, but it did serve as a milestone for recovery and a great motivator. In the end I one the Masters Light weight (-76kg), something I would have been proud of before my operation, and which now feels even more significant, although simply competing would have been an achievement. Photo attached. I thought you may like to see the progress I have made, and the difference that you and your team have made in my physical and mental welbeing. Many thanks for all of your support in my journey to having a more active life again. Best wishes Michael

Absolutely fabulous Pilates session with Annika. It’s been a while since I have done reformer Pilates but I have so much confidence in Anni and after 4 sessions I feel my body is responding well and my aches and pains are diminishing. I discovered this class from having physio sessions with Martin who enabled me to walk with confidence without my knee brace and sometimes crutches. I cannot recommend these people highly enough, they have changed my life.

Started with Martin at MAC Physio in March 2023 after poor NHS physiotherapy was given to me following ACL reconstruction. I came to Martin with a swollen knee full of fluid and was unable to fully bend. Martin was genuine and realistic with me the whole way through and gave me a timeline of getting back into Martial Arts by Nov 2023. I have just been given the green light to go back into Martial Arts in 4 weeks (Nov 2023), something that seemed impossible to me months ago. Highly recommend MAC and Martin and very thankful and appreciative for his expertise and honesty.

I've been using Mac physio due to a work related knee injury. Martin was attentive with his assessment of the problems i've been having and the course of exercises he issued are working towards a positive out come. He also guided me in the right direct for MRI scans and aided me with the feed back from the consultant. Very good practice, I highly recommend.

I’ve been seeing Martin and the team here on and off for about 5 years or so with different issues. I’m a runner and have had several injuries which Martin has helped with, providing hands-on treatment, as well as very useful exercises to do (and a good app with videos to show how to do them), which helped build strength. Was also good at referrals when needed and willing to pass me onto someone else when he was not the best person for the job - building good trust with me. The website allows booking online which is handy. All in all, a very good experience. Thanks.

I had 3 sessions of shockwave therapy for tendonitis. Martin was extremely professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He explained the process clearly and talked me through everything. Martin also gave me some physio exercises to do alongside the treatment. I found the whole process easy and felt comfortable. The set up at the practice is modern and clean, and easy to find with ample parking. Overall I had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend the services offered at Mac Physio

I recently received physiotherapy with Sophia and have found her to be an exceptional physiotherapist. She is a credit to the company and i have always felt very comfortable when seeing her. The goal we set out to reach was achieved in a shorter time than I expected. My daughter Beverly Weston has also attended MacPhysio for both physio and their pilates classes which is why I chose them and I would recommend MacPhysio to anyone needing help

I recently spent a day shadowing Martin to gain work experience as I am student looking to become a physiotherapist in the future. Overall, the facilities available are excellent and the treatment plans are individualised and designed to rehabilitate the specific needs of each patient. Martin is a knowledgable and friendly physiotherapist and I would definitely recommend Mac Physio & Pilates to anyone looking for physiotherapy treatment or work experience.

I completed my 3rd year physiotherapy placement at Mac Physio & Pilates, and it was a joy to be there. All the therapists are friendly and knowledgeable. I took part in a Pilates class with Alice which I really enjoyed/found helpful, and I would recommend it to anyone.

I stayed here for a few days as a student to gain some overshadowing experience in the private setting. Martin was very welcoming and always eager to answer my burning questions. He was also really thorough with the patients and had a great patient-practitioner rapport. If you go to Mac physio you can be sure that you will be given a thorough and skilled assessment and treatment plan provided and also be in the hands of a skilled and experienced Physiotherapist who does not cut corners!

I chose Mac physio due to recommendation and they were spot on. Sophia was able to identify my strained knee tendon and recommend treatment and exercises to get me back up and running. She provided exercises via the Physiotech app which showed the correct technique. I would recommend them!

Martin was recommended to me following a leg injury in 2019, and following some physio sessions, I quickly made a full recovery. Martin recommended the Pilates classes, and I have been attending those since early 2020, even by Zoom during lockdown! I can honestly say that they are one of the highlights of my week. Annie is a great teacher, very clear and thorough, and willing to give individual help, even in a class setting. I compete in Ballroom and Latin dance, and my results have improved since starting Pilates. I have a better awareness of my body and an improved feeling of well-being in everything I do. Pilates is now part of my regular fitness regime and a great start to the week!

I’ve been seeing Sophia at Mac physio Stourbridge for a few months now with a problem I’ve had for years but got to a point where I was being woken up by pain and it was effected my everyday life. Sophia has a very calming effect when you talk to her, she’s very down to earth and very informative - she’s helped me so much I can’t thank her enough I’m truly grateful. I’m pretty much 80% recovered, can sleep without pain and now get on with my day to day chores without aggravation from my injury. Also the team are fantastic I had to rearrange a few appointments for various reasons and they are prompt at getting back to you and very helpful with any query you might have, I would happily 100% recommended Mac physio to anyone who has physio needs.

Amazing service, I had been to so many people who couldn’t sort out my issue. The knowledge and experience the physiotherapists have is outstanding and you really can’t put a price on being able to resume to your normal life without pain. Recommend for anyone who is going through joint/ muscle pain or stiffness

After inuring my elbow, I suffered with restriction in my range of motion so decided to go to Mac Physio for assistance with my rehab. Martin was extremely helpful and very informative, creating me an exercise routine specifically to my needs, as well as giving my arm massages. This helped with pain and significantly improved my arm functionality over time. The exercise routine was uploaded onto an online system which you get given a username and password for, so can easily access the plan when at home allowing you to follow the routine with ease wherever you are. Martin was very helpful with any questions I had and is very knowledgeable, making me feel at ease when discussing matters with him. I couldn't recommended Mac Physio & Pilates highly enough, I certainly wouldn't have made the progress I have without going there.

Have been using Mac Physio for the last 8 years, From my first appointment with Martin through to my most recent with Sophia, any injuries or niggles have been resolved quickly and professionally, along with follow up preventative instructions and training videos. The new facility in Amblecote is testimony to the level of service that you receive with them, A fully professional company and highly recommend to everyone. Also quite important for me is that there is no hard sell on treatment plans and packages, unlike others that I have visited where you are sold the 5-6 treatment sessions and see no real gains from most, these guys will deal with your requirements as quick as possible. Thanks all.

Joined Mac physio in April of this year due to a tibial plateau fracture. Martin hands down has been amazing I’d even go as far as saved my leg. His referred me to people, recommended things for me to do. Created workouts at home for me. Always checked up on how I’m getting on even via email / text and nothing is ever too much trouble. His more of a friend now then my physio his so easy to talk too and his very knowledgeable that you feel in safe hands. I have seen Sophie, Sophia and also Nikki and all where also very knowledgeable and hands on when you need it. I’d recommend mac physio to anyone

I had always been to a physio who was good and I was a fan of physio as I played sport all my life and suffered for it !! I now have arthritis in areas ( I am 61) but when I went to Annie my views went up into a different league . Her diagnosis was spot on there is a lot you can do with muscles and soft tissue to reduce the effects of arthritis. She found ways of curing pain that I can continue at home . I have never been so aware and understand my body . She is very hands on explains everything and very encouraging even when you are in pain !!! Couldn’t recommend her enough excellent service . Thank you Annie

I had constant pain in my leg as a result of a number of disc problems. This had gone on for about 18 months. I had tried another physio, a chiropractor and acupuncture. But I was still in pain. I had been told about Mac Physio buy my niece, so I booked in with Martin. He was fantastic! He took a full history gave good advice and fantastic physio treatment. He is always available for advice and we have had "zoom" contact over lockdown. I have now been able to stop all my drugs; which was my aim, and I feel so much better. If you need a physio go and see Martin or Annie as they will help you.

Mac Physio was very professional from the first phone call, right through to the end of my treatment some 10-12 weeks later. The experience was so easy and I will certainly back if I need to. Use this company with no concerns. 5star! Thank you again Martin!
