Great place to visit with lots to explore. Various walks through woods, fields, gardens, swamps and ponds. Enjoy pond dipping or just sitting and bird watching. Tour the house and learn it's history and secrets. Ice cream shop, gift shop, tearoom serving hot/cold drinks and delicious food, enclosed park for the tiny tots and a fantastic adventure park for the older kids built in the woods. Dog friendly with acres of open space, dog water bowls are dotted around by the main house tearoom and gift shop. Wheelchair and pushchair friendly with wide gentle pathways winding their way from the lower car park up to the main house. ♿️ Festivals are held at Oakwell Park. These are ticket only and some are age restricted. Oakwell also has a beautiful function room for weddings, christenings, that special birthday! 🥂🎉 Car parking is free.

This is not only a great place for country walks with the whole family, but also a fascinating piece of history. The day I went, they had their Christmas Market, with all kinds of craft stalls and great food in the courtyard, so although it was a cold winter's day, it was buzzing with activity and happy faces. Its been a while since I was here last, shooting a wedding, but I'll be back for a full walk around the extensive grounds another time, for sure.

A lovely place to go for a walk and a light lunch - especially if you have a dog! Routes are between 2 and 4km or longer if you walk into the nearby countryside, and the gardens are beautiful. The cafe only has a few options for food, but will make you a nice coffee and a cake.

Went here for a walk. I really want to give this 5 stars as my partner and I loved it here, but we foster a 2yo who is wheelchair bound. There is an accessible walk here but it would be lovely to be able to access more for him. This place appears well looked after as there was very little litter where we did walk, lots of dog walkers and a 1 mile mountain bike trail. It looks well thought out to avoid walkers and MTBers sharing the same space. There is a lovely cafe, limited seating inside, with friendly staff and a collection box for the hospice our little one visits (please spare some change if you can 😀). There's a park, open spaces too, so something for everyone if you like the outdoors with comforts near by. There's a souvenir shop, a barn the holds events like craft sales etc and the house, not sure if this is open to the public though.

I love Oakwell Hal and its a perfect place for a wedding or just a walk. It's very popular with dog walkers and has trails marked if you want them or just walk round the several large open grassed areas. There is a lovely cafe in the hall itself which has its entrance at the right side if looking from yhe front. You can sit and have your tea and cake in a fabulous garden area. There is an old stables which has been turned into toilets and there is a shop in that courtyard as well. I've been with my dog a few times but this time it was to take a groom to his wedding.

A great outdoors Countryside Park on the edge of the M62, with Oakwell Hall within the grounds. A haven for different forms of pond life within the various ponds, complete with a stream running through the woodland. Great for exploring and walking, great for Dogs also.

What could be a lovely place but there is a lot of litter around and people not picking up dog mess which makes it 3 stars. Not safe to let the kids wander around in the woods near the park because people are not responsible dog owners. The bins were also over flowing and the steam full of plastic bottles. Such a shame for a wonderful historic site.

Enjoyed it, not that busy. Better than I thought, the bit where you can see the roof structure is impressive. The gardens were a bit disappointing but still very good. The friendly staff. The building has a fascinating history and many events to attend.

My daughter got married at Oakwell Hall, which you can hire for the ceremony, along with the barn for the after wedding celebrations. Jackie the wedding planner was fabulous, along with the rest of the team/staff. We had a great day and would highly recommend this venue for such an occasion or just to visit, as there is plenty to do and see for families and individuals alike. Cafe and shop on site and clean toilets.

Great trails for walks with or without dog. Very nice hall for various occasions. There is a play ground with a cafe next to it. Play ground could do with some work though. Looks a bit tired. Great experience though

A fabulous 16th century Manor House with many original features. Frequently visited by Charlotte Brontë in Victorian times and also used for some interiors on BBC Drama “Gentleman Jack”. Be aware that on some days/parts of a day the hall is closed to the public while used as a wedding venue. Entry is free (summer 2023) The hall and formal gardens are surrounded by a large country park with marked walking paths and bridle ways, some areas have been reworked and there is a nice water feature towards the back of the park. There is a large free car park, just off the A652 Bradford Road and a smaller free car park, close to the hall, but this is intended for those with accessibility and mobility issues.

Oakwell hall has been a place I've always gone to. Lots of lovely walks and a couple of nice cafes . Toilets at both ends of the park. The Hall was open today for free which was nice. 1st time inside and I was blown away by its history. Love it.

Hall was closed but able to walk in its walled garden. Car parks small but free to use, concreted. First car park off nutters lane has small snake cafe, toilets with small child's play area. Half way along walk there's a small court yard with gift shop, toilets and seating. Big open fields for dogs to run. Lots of benches placed throughout walk. Pleasant 3 hours.

Really nice for a walk, picnic or walk the dog. Historic museum, open air events and wedding receptions. Good place to take the kids for a run around for free. Cafe and gift shop and free parking on site.

Lovely woodland walk, birds singing, peace and quiet. Nice to have a wander, some lovely views. Lots of benches to stop and take in the peace and quiet, picnic benches for lunch. Children's play area at bottom car park (recently re surfaced so no huge holes anymore). Toilets, cafe and shop at the top car park.

The grounds and surrounding woodlands are worth a visit. Nice little walk ad good far reaching views. Cafe was open. Nice hot latte. Did not visit inside the hall itself.

Free parking. The car park shuts at 4pm in autumn/winter but I noticed the overflow next to it still left open at 5pm. Free entry into the hall and they're not pushy on 'donations'. Staff pleasant and engaging. You get a leaflet on arrival and there's lots of good info boards. Didn't see the ghost or get a spooky feel. Takes about 45 mins to get round the house and look at the small formal garden. Outside, various tracks and paths, some of which take you right under the M62!

An amazing venue to celebrate your wedding. The registration hall with its unique architectural and natural light makes it great for photos. Garden is comfortable and absolutely beautiful. The staff is so kind and friendly. High recommend.

The Bronte connection is only one part of the brilliance of Oakwell Hall and Park. Splendid walks that aren't too taxing. The hall is a wonderful piece of historic 16th century architecture, still boasting original interiors (decor, furniture etc) and there's a cafe too! A must when in the area. I love it so much I got married there!

Set in Oakwell Park, this entire area is steeped in history and linked to the Brontes and the civil war. Lots of great walks for all, including dogs, and two different playgrounds for youngsters and teens. Fab day out!

This house is a time capsule dating from the Tudor period. Free to enter it is well worth a visit and an added bonus is practically all the rooms are made accessible. There's information boards in each room giving a brief history of the house and its inhabitants. Allow about 45 minutes for a visit, the access stairs to the bedrooms ate quite steep.

Such a lovely area to walk. If you can ignore the road noise of the M62 it's actually a great area with water, woods open space and a cafe and toilets. With two car parks and disabled access plus a few pieces of art to discuss.

Lovely place to visit on a nice day gardens a bit overgrown but lots of benches to sit on , small cafe ok reasonable prices there is disabled access round the gardens but not very well signposted if you haven't been before and quite uneven surfaces. Been twice now but the hall never seems to be open even though the website said it was so can't comment on this 🙂

Lots of walks around the hall and more in the countryside part at the other end of the site. A lovely little cafe (and it is relatively little) though there are outside benches and tables should the weather allow. The produce in the cafe is of a good standard and reasonably priced. We go to Oakwell fairly regularly, and it doesn't change, so this review should be accurate whenever you visit. Not been in the hall, as not sure when it opens.

I've been here a few times for parkrun on a Saturday morning at 9am. The carpark is free for parkrun, not sure if it is all the time. The parkrun is two laps of a few loops round the grounds. The grounds and gardens are stunning. Will have to call back another time for a proper look round the place. Great for a dog walk too. There are two carparks, toilets and a cafe where we got ice-cream!

We decorated Oakwell Hall Country Park, a prestigious historic venue for barn weddings. The museum is from the 17th century and has a great staff and clean space for wedding parties. It is suitable for any celebration or event. Thank you all.
